Flight was delayed nearly five hours. Would have missed my connection despite having a 2.5hr layover originally. Austin to Philadelphia just is not a route that has many back up options if there is a problem. I will avoid Austin at all costs going forward. Please be aware if you have connections in Austin that they don’t fly to all locations on every day. So if you miss one……you might be stuck in Austin for a day or two. STAY AWAY FROM AUSTIN.

Columbia has a small airport with very crowded terminal. Plane’s WiFi was not working so NO entertainment. Sad excuse for an American flight. At least it was quick.

Pros: "Great having every set have its own screen and charging port"
Cons: "Not to be an hour delayed and make half the plane miss their connections!"
Pros: "Everything"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "Flight was earlier than scheduled. Crew was good."
Cons: "Nothing. The flight was 30 min. No complaints except for the guy who didn't wear his mask."
Cons: "Nothing--everything was great--perhaps the best service I've ever received."
Pros: "The pilot, crew, etc. was all good. Boarding was great, as was deplaning. There was a lot of communication."
Cons: "I'm a tall woman and I was never more cramped. I think in a long flight such as this 2.5+ hours, they should not be using American Eagle jets. They are so tiny and my neighbor and I were practically on each other's laps."
Pros: "Extra seat width would always be nice"
Cons: "The chairs could be better in economy"
Pros: "Everything was justOK"
Cons: "Seats are very confining."
Cons: "The cabin was hot for the whole flight"
Cons: "Delayed flight. Seat didn't recline."
Pros: "everything was good"
Cons: "I’m not sure"
Pros: "no"
Cons: "on time departure"
Cons: "The flight was canceled; why allow booking for a flight you plan to cancel. Ruined my plans and reason for flying."
Pros: "One of the ladies working was very unhappy with life. The other lady was kind and delightful."
Cons: "The air vents did work. So very hot on board. Timing of boarding and landing was great. Some turbulance during flight. Here's the kicker my first fight was delayed and my luggage was stuck in Dallas! My luggage did appear at my house in the middle of the night. Is that a good use of resources?"
Pros: "Nothing spectacular, but nothing bad."
Cons: "3 hour flight and no entertainment options. Disappointed with that."
Pros: "Some of the flight attendants were helpful, some were not. The movie selection was good."
Cons: "The Food was not fully warmed, seats were uncomfortable. The boarding process did not seem organized."
Cons: "I was apparently "flagged" by British Airways for extra security checks. As I understood it in London, I was randomly selected for this security check. This then apparently meant that I was to be flagged for all subsequent flights. This meant that in Chicago, after going through two other security checks that day (Zurich and London) and completing customs, I had to engage in a full Homeland security check. This involved removing protective covers from my laptop and phone that were hard to get off (not meant to be taken off regularly) and a full body search that I did not have to do in London. After many hours of traveling, this was very a frustrating experience."
Cons: "After following out-of-date information to the furthest reaches of a sprawling and signage-deficient airport, I learned my departure gate was back where I’d come from. Having lost half an hour to my detour, I arrived panting and sweaty at the correct gate 12 minutes prior to departure - cutting it close, but before gate closing time. Or so American’s procedures say. The gate was deserted; they’d closed early."
Pros: "The service was great"
Cons: "That you have to pay extra for entertainment, that you have to have your own device, and that the food was mediocre"
Pros: "Good boarding and on time departure."
Cons: "Very uncomfortable seats and spacement between the seats too small and you feel very cramped specially when the person in front of you reclines his seat you can hardly move."
Cons: "The airline left my luggage behind at dfw"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "It was horrible. Almost 3 hours delayed"
Pros: "1) Puntuality in departing and arrival times 2) Very pleasant crew members"
Pros: "My favorite part was after we all got off, the man helping everyone get their luggage said take one down and pass it down if it’s not yours. It was genius!"
Pros: "Finishing my flight, being able to say I'll never fly American again."
Cons: "Without notice or warning, I was required to pay $200 for my dog, tranferring from Alaska Air, to ride in cargo for the 2nd leg of my trip. My fare was approx. $84. They would not accept cash, but made me spend another $5 on a "gift card," because I don't own credit cards. Rude, uncaring, marginally competent ground crew."
Pros: "Kayak is taking people’s money by selling airlines tickets of airlines that doesn’t exist. I bought tickets for some airlines called Finnair and end up in the worse airline there is “American Airline” this is Not fare for clients, I refuse to flight Americans Airline, if I would have known I would have not buy this flight. 7 hours in a plane with no TV, no free drinks and the worse service. This is a trick, by using Finnair and then end up in AA! There is no Finnair, this is a lie! I am so disappointed about Kayak and won’t use it again. Thank you for rob me and trick me into the worse experience!"
Cons: "The trick the kayak used to put me in American Airlines, the worse Airline there is."
Pros: "Otherwise great flight experience..."
Cons: "But touchscreens were so unresponsive to touch it was almost impossible to navigate between movies."
Pros: "The seats on this little plane were large and comfy (which I never thought I'd say about a plane again). The crew was great, and the flight was hitchless."
Cons: "We were delayed by an hour and a half. Not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things, but it still puts a cramp in my day."
Cons: "Didn't make the flight because the flight to London was cancelled."
Cons: "First flight got cancelled without explanation. Then I couldn't get a follow up direct flight so I had to wait 2 days. Then when I finally flew there you lost my suitcase and I had to wait for that for 2 days!!! I'll never fly Iberia again!! You didn't even try to make up for it. And the guy at the counter was straight up rude."
Cons: "You pay extra to get the TSA Full background check, so you can breeze through TSA, with PreCheck, yet this Airline has a problem with recognizing it. 3 phone calls layer and a Visit to their Costumer Serice Desk, and none of them can figure it out. Uhg again."
Cons: "Attendant at the gate forced me to leave my troley hand bag to be checked with the excuse the fly was full and there was not sapce for people on groups 7 and 8 ( seats rear in te plane). I explained her I had personal documents and stuff inside my trolley but she told me I had to take another fly if I refused to checked. Our surprise was that the space above our seats ( row 30) was available and left empty the while fly! It was not fear and discriminated!"
Pros: "Entertainment was available in front of us on a screen versus an onboard app, which was much appreciated."
Cons: "Oh man, I have so many things I need to say. I tried giving AA a chance, but compared to when I flew on WestJest two months prior for almost the exact same trip (I flew to San Francisco versus San Jose that time), WestJet was by far more superior in terms of customer service, boarding organization, and friendliness. First of all, what bugged me profusely was the lack of seat selection and the crazy pricing for certain seats. On WestJet, the emergency exit seats were available without any additional cost, yet AA was charging $66 USD to sit there. Furthermore, seats closer to Business class also carried a charge of $25 (or something like that) - ONLY because you get to board sooner. I would understand if there was extra legroom involved, but really, it's just a matter of sitting and getting off before anyone else. If anything, those seats should be given to passengers who have tight connecting flights and need to get off asap. even in those cases, you shouldn't be charging someone almost $30 just so they can make it to their next flight that YOUR company arranged within such a short time frame. But the most annoying thing about my trip with AA was the fact that I had to take out all of my belongings from my carry-on and carry them in my arms because there was no room left in the overhead compartments. Excuse me?? How is there not enough room? So I had to walk with my laptop, my iPad, my Beats headphones, my laptop and iPad charger, amongst other things, in my hands to the aircraft. Thank goodness I found a plastic bag, because otherwise I probably would have lost something expensive on that plane. Furthermore, as I walked to my seat, there was most definitely places that I could have stowed my carry-on luggage in the overhead compartments. You shouldn't let people put things like purses and bags of food in the overhead, when those can be stowed underneath the seats in front."
Pros: "On-time arrival"
Cons: "They lost a bag and then took nearly an hour to do the lost luggage report. Handoffs among three staffers (one disappeared)."
Pros: "*finally* getting rebooked"
Cons: "The aircraft was downgraded, so there were 12 "overbooked" seats. The flight was delayed several times, with each new delay only being acknowledged after the previous departure time had already passed. Eventually, the flight was "delayed" to 3:15, but then it was bumped BACK to 2:45, so one woman ended up missing the flight because she had gone to the lounge based on the 3:15 departure. I accepted a voucher, but as the original flight kept getting delayed and I couldn't receive the voucher until the doors closed, I almost missed the flight I was rebooked on. If airlines would just communicate better (e.g., tell us there's a delay *before the departure time has passed*), people would be much more willing to deal with the hassle."
Cons: "The AA station in Madison (MSN) is notoriously SLOW in downloading bags from the plane and getting them to the baggage claim. So far this flight ot is about 30 minutes from when the plane pulled into the gate and still no bags yet."
Pros: "I was able to try the recently redesigned coach cabin seats which are OK for a short flight. But I wouldn't want to be seating in them for more than 2 to 3 hours top specially on the window or worse a middle seat. The crew was attentive up to a point (just saw them boarding and when given a cracker and some water during the flight). I think American can do a better job providing comfortable seats or even a nicer meal during flights."
Cons: "Seats are short of cramped. If you are large size avoid windows and middle."
Cons: "No headset for entertainment"
Cons: "Plane needs updating. Pretty outdated and dirty"
Cons: "Delays, attitudes, and fees"
Pros: "Nothing much beside the fact it was cheap."
Cons: "Basically, when i was boarding there was a 60 min call for closing the gate, which I went up front to check in. However the front person totally ignored me, and I missed my flight coming back. After that I had to pay extra $275 (or close to that amount) to reschedule the flight. Worst experience ever."
Pros: "Once arrived all was fine. Once arrived all was fine."
Cons: "Being Over hour late. Updates kind of slow. But really hot on the plane"
Pros: "I got to my flight with ease, my flight was on time and the pilot did an excellent job of taking off and a picture perfect landing . The attendants were quick to respond to my needs, ( I needed some trash thrown away and I had a request for coffee)"
Cons: "More space in coach. If there was a larger person next to me it would have been a different review"
Pros: "Price was right"
Cons: "We waited on tarmac to depart from San Jose Cabo because of an AA paperwork screw up! Tower didn't have same flight info as pilot. The pilot apologized and crew was nice - but I missed my next flight and the replacement flight was delayed 2 hours. Bummer of a way to end an amazing vacation!!"
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Reading knight on plane were so dim they were useless"
Cons: "So delayed that I was going to miss connection to talked my way onto a direct into New York"
