Cons: "Five minutes before the scheduled boarding time, it was announced the flight was delayed by 1 hour 25 minutes. I am almost certain this was not weather-related, according to flight trackers. I understand that weather delays are essentially out of airlines' hands. However, if the delay is caused for other reasons like "mechanical issues", or any other errors or miscommunications within the airline itself, then they should be held liable. My time is worth money, so any delays not weather-related should result in a reasonable refund based on the duration of the delay. An apology doesn't placate customers' frustration and inconvenience due to delays."

She was extremely pleasant when explaining what was happening to flights, connections, etc. She was helpful when checking boarding passes to ensure that travellers were ok for their flight."

More importantly, the fact that I checked-in with seat 14 and ended-up, seemingly randomly, in seat 28 (the back of the plane) when I had SPECIFICALLY selected a seat in the FRONT section of the plane. That was particularly annoying, especially since the optics of the situation were such that I used miles to purchase the flight and got "screwed-over" with respect to my seat selection as if my ticket held less weight than other passengers..."

American Airlines tried to help and eventually were able to accommodate me through purchasing a new ticket and ensured my husband and I were still sitting together. Kayak and csfare basically told me sorry for your luck. I will not use this company again."

I nearly canceled the trip. I reboarded and made my connection with 10 minutes to spare. Also, my destination (Greenville) was only 90 miles from Charlotte, the connecting airport (unbeknownst to me). AA should have offered the option of driving to my destination."

Cons: "My flight was delayed 4 times from Columbus to Chicago due to an ATC issue in Chicago. On the 4th delay announcement I had to rebook my international flight for the following day because my connection was leaving Chicago while I was still in Columbus. I had to rebook and get a hotel for the night on my own expense since American Airlines won't pay if it is weather related even though the weather was not the issue, rather air traffic control. The plane we got the next day was a smaller uncomfortable plane with zero entertainment and a crew that projected they would rather be anywhere else. I don't blame them, my experiences with American Airlines had been progressively getting worse."

Than we waited 20 min fir our carry on luggage to arrive. We were told we had to check it. By the time we arrived at our gate they had given outlet seats away. They were not very polity ir helpful."

Cons: "I was advised by customer service agent over the phone that it would only cost me $100 for an extra bag on my flight and that it would remain the same whether i paid it online or at the airport. However, at the airport i was told that the extra bag is $200. My office agreed to paying for the extra bag only for $100. Now I am out of pocket with $100. So disappointing."

They couldn't get me to HHH until 6pm the following day. I would have missed my entire conference. The closest they could get me was a 10pm flight to charleston, then I had to rent (AND PAY FOR) a car and drive 2 hours to HHH in the middle of the night. The customer service people were less than helpful. They aren't allowed to help you make car reservation. My flight on the way back from HHH to BNA was a similar story. Thankfully my connecting flight was delayed an hour or there was no way I would have made it."

However, that isn't to say you're unable to get sleep on them, because my partner and I both slept the entire flight- the vibrations are only slightly disconcerting. Departure was about 15 minutes late out of Charlotte."

There were 3 off duty flight attendants sitting next to me and each had 2 large bags. Multiple other people had multiple oversized bags they were allowed to carry on. This infuriates me. I brought one bag, and a smaller than regulation one at that and I had to check it because other people were allowed to bring multiple bags. If you know a flight will be a tight squeeZe, limit people to one bag each."

Pull this aircraft out of service and fix the temperature!!!"

When we arrived there the line was almost an hour and a half just to check bags we almost missed our flight. When we got to the counter ans told him we were both military flying on orders and asked to be tsa checked he had no clue what we were talking about so this kind woman helped him do his job, needless to say he was a manager. Once we got out tickets the seat assignment said see agent so we did. He hands us our tickets and we are a plane length apart. Let me mind you we both just left our child for a 8 month deployment overseas. We asked the guy if it was possible to get seats together wouldnt even acknowledge we were speaking to him. So we tried again he held his hand in my face and told me he serviced me and to please step back. Ive been bawling 2 hours straight from having to leave our son. So we stepped back. Then in the line this couple comes up and they were looking for seats together, i kid you not he gave them seats together! I will NEVER EVER fly united every again. Thank goodness for this kind gentle to switch me seats on the plane because i was crying i had to leave my fiance after i just had to say goodbye to our son for 8 months!! I was so shocked!!! I will tell every single person i know to never use united! You guys should be ashamed of our company! I will inform every active duty member i come across!"

I had a very unpleasant episode with one female attendant which yelled at me and talked in an un appropriate tone when I needed to use the toilet. There are manners and ways to say things and anyone would listened to them. As a customer I deserve respect, as they deserve respect from me. I am a frequent traveler and been flying basically all my life. And never encountered a flight attendant with such a bad attitude. I travel abroad the US several times a year. After this incident I am not sure if I want to fly with United again, if they make poor choices when they select their crew ."

Cons: "United canceled my flight due to weather conditions. The rep on the phone suggested no alternate airports and was not helpful with making my way to my arrival destination. They said all flights were booked going out of NY/PA for at least the next 3 days. I will definitely be looking at other airlines and now have to book a second flight as I will be missing 2 days of work already."

Cons: "United check in desk in Columbus was incredibly unhelpful and unfriendly. There was an enormous line that seemed to grow because the three people working the check-in blatantly informed those customers who asked for help. The was no concern for helping people reach their gates. I had to flag down a woman and actual shout down the counter that I needed help or I would miss my flight. The woman at the gate check also ignored a question I had at being at the correct gate. Once on board we were delayed for an hour because the plan was overweight. They asked for volunteers to get off the plane but never told us when the next flight to Dulles would be, or how we may be compensated if we got off the plane. I missed my connecting flight in Dulles and lost my luggage."

Pros: "We had a weather delay— so we sat in the plane for 3 hours before we left. Should have had the option go leave."

Cons: "The unexpected delay, overbooking and paperwork mishaps. The flight was supposed to leave at 8 am. Got an email at 5 am saying the flight was delayed two hours for no given reason. Then before we were booking they announced the flight was overbooked by 4 people. That added another time 10 minutes. Then when we’re on the plane it took another 20 minutes for paperwork that wasn’t done correctly. So with no weather issues my scheduled flight at 8 am didn’t take off until 10:55 am."

Cons: "I paid about $200 on extras (1 carry on, 1 Checked bag and a sit plus snack money...) thinking is the lowest fair.. WRONG! always add $200 extra :( Oh! an you can't recline the sit so is pretty uncomfortable for a long trip..."

Pros: "Despite being a "bargain" fare airlines, it was a remarkably smooth, comfortable, trouble-free flight."
Cons: "After you add in "extras" such as luggage ($31-35) and a reserved seat ($17-20), the fare is still reasonable but not as low as you may have initially been lead to believe."

They were not only unhelpful and unapologetic, but actually quite hostile as they informed me that they would be offering no compensation or voucher, and would not place me on another flight for 2 days (although they were still advertising flights for the next day on their website)."

Pros: "Airplane was brand new but no amenities. Spirit claims this is to keep prices down. However, the one way ticket I bought was about the same prices as many other airlines. In fact, Spirit costs more in the end because they charge you for EVERYTHING. (Picking a seat, checkin and carry on luggage) I had a small back pack I carried on and they made me put my purse inside my backpack. If it didn't fit inside the backpack they were going to charge me $50 extra."
Cons: "Lots of fees. Plane took off later than scheduled and people were forced to change their seats during a ten minute layover. Employees at check-in and the gate were defensive and unfriendly. However, I can't blame them, after all they do work at the worst airline ever. The stewards were nice but kept trying to push people to open a Spirit credit card. Multiple people on the plane said they will never fly with Spirit again."

Cons: "The seats had no leg room. Outrageous baggage fees and unprofessional staff working at the baggage check."

Cons: "you have to pay to CARRY ON A BAG ! 55$. if my flight was cheap i would understand but it wasnt. you have to pay FOR WATER .... WATER ! they are so unorganized and didnt have seat assignments - so there was a major hold up at the fate while people got seat assignments. once we got to myrtle beach they had to go through the passangers 1 by 1 to give them new seats for the next flight to boston. never again."

The seating is very close to eachother and really doesn't matter what size you are, you will be brushing arms with the passenger next to you. That's how really tight it is. And they claim that you are paying less but in reality you have to pay for any type of baggage that is not a purse or bookbag. Which they should mention loud and clear when purchasing online because at the airport, many people didn't know what was acceptable and they were at the terminal having to pay an extra 100 dollars for one little suitcase."

Cons: "The crew was extremely rude. My daughters luggage was severely damaged including the flat iron inside getting broken. The seats are incredibly uncomfortable and you have to pay for everything under the sun. My flight ended up being much more expensive than other carriers but Spirit was the only one that had an available route to meet our cruise ship due to the snow storm."

Cons: "I got to the airport with 45 mins to boarding time and the kiosk rejected to print my boarding pass. I had no bags to check in and not even a carrying on bag. I was flying to Boston with just a purse. I immediately went to the agent and the manager was standing next to her so she asked me to wait a min. Once she looked up my flight she and the manager said I couldn't get on because I was 43 mins late and they are allowed to cancel your flight if you are later than 45 mins from the boarding time. I was TWO minutes later and the security line was not long so I know I would have made my flight but they refused to give me a boarding pass. It was the worst service I EVER received and I bet they just wanted to give up my seat so they could resell it. I will NEVER fly spirit again."

Cons: "There was absolutely no service on either of my flights. The seating and tray tables were extremely small and of poor quality. The stewardess never even asked if anyone needed anything except to offer things for purchase. The gate attendees were extremely rude to those around me and the prices for ANYTHING are outrageous. I understand the idea of 'low ticket prices' and 'less accommodations' but your company put us on an unbelievably small airplane treated us like herded animals. You are a business and are supposed to treat your clients like such. Completely unsatisfactory."

Cons: "I bought these tickets through Kayak, which then directed me to priceline. I had no idea during booking that this airline charges an exorbitant fee for every single courtesy. To carry on a bag is minimum $55 and maximum $100. To check a bag is $50. Please tell me, who flies internationally from Guatemala to Boston WITH NO BAGS?! Additionally, soft drinks, which should be complementary are priced at $3. Their motto is don't pay hidden fees for things you don't use, but tell me, who doesn't want a drink on a 2.5 hour flight? The seats were the skinniest, thinnest, most uncomfortable seats I have ever had the displeasure in sitting in and there were advertisements on the overhead compartments, as if I were riding on the NYC subway. Although when I purchased the seats I selected to have my husband and myself sit next to each other, during check in, they tried to charge an additional $10 to rearrange our incorrectly-ticketed seats, so we could sit together as I had originally hoped. We then had the worst layover experience I've had to date, and I've traveled extensively domestically and to 14 countries, some multiple times. We had a 40-minute layover in Myrtle Beach, where 130 people remained on the plane to continue on to Boston. However, nearly all those passengers had different tickets for the second flight and although we did not deplane, we were expected to move ourselves and our baggage to our secondarily assigned seats. For some reason, for our flight to Boston, my husband and I were separated. I would never have voluntarily chosen to be separated from my husband, and I have no idea how we had seats next to each other for our two previous flights, but then were asked to separate for our third 2-hour flight. How is it possible with modern-day computer technology that we could not just remain in our same seats, when we were remaining on the same plane? This was the worst travel experience I have ever had the displeasure of enduring and I will NEVER give my money to this airline again. This airline is a complete scam with all of its hidden costs, lack of customer service and completely inhumane treatment of its passengers. I strongly warn everyone to stay far away from Spirit Airlines."

The phone number is hidden so well I called five different numbers to finally get a hold of the right person . They try their hardest to not accommodate nobody they try their hardest to hide their customer services . When I finally got a hold of the customer service . The Gentlemen even egg knowledge that there's a lot of people that complain about the same thing and he is heard it many times when I was suggesting that they make the website a little bit more accommodating to get a hold of the customer representative . Will never fly with them again . They're cheap because they are for you nothing and will not accommodate anything to take care of you whenever they make you miss your flight because the connecting flight was delayed over an hour . Had to pay $200 for a hotel plus an additional $250 for a connecting flight the next day Not happy"

Pros: "the price and the speed. the rumor was if you buy spirit air they will overbook you and kick you to the curb, - buy a seat. even the 15 or 20 dollar upgrade. can't help if your flight is cancelled but you get the idea. also they got us there fast... early arrivals on both flights"
Cons: "If you want amenities they will cost you as much as another airline and you will ride more comfortably, flight attendants need a little cheering up - very morose and brooding. the chart has a list of beers - I wanted a beer - but when I ordered a beer - all they had was bud an bud light - meh! so i said i would just drink water and he walked away. Yay great customer service! - glad the flight arrived early so I could buy a water when I landed!"

Cons: "My disappointment with Spirit started the moment they charged me $50 for my checked bag and $55 for my carry on. That's a whole lot of money in my opinion just for you to handle my bags!!!!! Not to mention the big airlines don't charge for a carry on and they only charge $25 for a checked bag. It's such a scam that they offer low flight prices only to jack up the price on luggage!!! Roundtrip, we spent $210 on luggage in addition to our ticket price!!!! I could have flown with one the big airlines and saved money after all that! Then...my return flight home was cancelled by Spirit due to weather, which I can totally appreciate happens. The issue was that the next available flight wasn't until 3 days LATER!!! Yes, you read that correctly. They offered no hotel accommodations, no sympathy, no other options and were completely unaccomodating outside of refunding me the price of a one-way ticket. Don't fly spirit unless you like being frustrated!! I will never ever fly them again."

Pros: "The airport didn't have us go out of the building and re go thru customs. ( as we have had to do) Same general area for catching the other leg of flight. Just a small delay to check a switch problem. Smooth flight."
Cons: "Charging for drinks. The directions given on the planes are done to fast and to rehearsed. No one seemed to catch the directions. Very loud and very fast spoken. No sure which segment had the worst issue with this. The loudness was way too much for ones ears."

Cons: "We had a family emergency occur on October 22. I tried both online and on the phone to contact someone about changing my flight. I realize it was a non-transferable purchase. However, my father's cancer (the reason for my initial ticket purchase) took a drastic turn for the worse and I needed to get to him asap. Ultimately, he perished on October 24. Thankfully, another airline was able to get me to my destination in time. Since his passing, we tried several times again to speak with a human being at your airline with no luck. My first experience with your airline in 2014 was great and i told numerous people about it. Unfortunately, due to what has occurred recently, I recant my high praises and will no longer look for your direct flights to MYR. I will choose another airline to travel with my young special needs child, even if it must include a stopover. Extremely disappointed in a serious time of need and compassion."
