Cons: "To be clear, I do not have an issue with overweight people. That being said, I was put in an extremely uncomforatable position on this flight. My seatmate was a woman who easily weighed 400 pounds without the slightest exageration and was 5'7 at best. She carried all of her weight in her midsection and behind, which was truly uncomforatable for us both. As she attempted to squeeze into the aisle seat it became apparent that with the armrest down it was not going to happen. She raised the armrest and finally maneuvered into her seat and part of mine also. Not only was her bottom in my seat but her stomach was resting on my entire right leg. It felt like a toddler was sitting on my lap. This was beyond uncomfortable and embarrassing for us both as it was clear that she knew how intrusive this was and kept apologizing. My leg went to sleep after about 15 minutes so I asked to be let out. I approached the flight attendent and requested that my seat be changed to which she responded that the flight was full. I know it wasn't because I could see an empty seat about four rows in front of me. Finally I sat back down but every 15 minutes or so she would get uncomforatable and get up to stretch. The first time it was a welcomed break, until she came back and flopped in her seat with so much force that it felt like someone had ran and jumped in my lap. This occurred 4 or 5 times during the flight. I am not sure what the policy is for obese passengers, but it should be relooked. As a passenger I should not be put in a position to address another passengers weight. I also should not have to pay for a seat and only get to use 2/3 of it. Lastly, no one should ever be allowed to put their body parts on top of another persons lap and that be considered ok."

Cons: "Their system gives too-short layovers so any delay at the point of origin means a risk of missing connections. Many people on my flight were worried about connections because Delta delayed our start by over 30 minutes to "change a switch," whatever that means. Then for passengers with short connection times, they should NEVER be seated in the rear of the plane when it takes 20-30 minutes for the rear-seated passengers. Not very consumer-oriented."

Cons: "When I checked in online, I received boarding passes for the first two legs of the trip, but was told to see a gate agent in Amsterdam for the boarding pass for that flight. It turns out that there was a problem, attributed by one of the KLM staff that I talked with to "a communication problem between Delta and KLM." As a result, I was finally given a stand-by boarding pass. Since the flight was full, I was denied boarding. After hours of trying to figure this out, the KLM staff put me on a flight for the next day and organized a stay at an airport hotel. The KLM staff were very nice, but it seemed to take a very long time to figure this out. They also failed to note that the denial of boarding in the records, which caused a problem in my return flight. The upshot: I missed a follow-on flight to Budapest and had to pay a huge rebooking fee for that missed flight. I also missed a day of my vacation."

After 30 minutes they saw that my seat assignment had been changed and that is why my boarding passes that I had printed at home did not match what their computer showed. I booked this reservation in May and had a seat chosen fairly toward the front. I am 73 years old and the closer to the front I can be helps. When I finally got on the plane to my surprise my seat was the very last seat on the plane across from the restroom. People continued to leave the door open after using the restroom so had to get up and continue to close the door or look at the restroom the whole flight. There was never any explanation as to why they did this. As a result, being lst off the plane, I almost missed my connection as I had to go two terminals over for my connection. At my age I cannot run so I arrived as the last people were getting on the plane. I will never fly American Airlines again."

AA attendant at gate at CLT was extremely rude and unprofessional when I accuse Left my boarding passes in seat pocket. Would not summon someone to retrieve it. Made me wait until entire plane was disembarked and cleaned, and made me wait some more after. She was super snarky, made rude comments, and almost made my family miss our connection to EWN. I will never, ever, fly AA again. Worst customer service and tons of issues with maintenance, luggage handling, and delays."

Cons: "I called American Airlines as ssoon as I book my trip to set up and make sure my small dog could fly with me. They neglected to inform me their partner, jetstar, does not fly animals. My luggage did not arrive with me. Both of my suitcases were mangled and broken. Items in my suitcases were shattered and crushed even though they were well packed and protected. We got stuck on the terminal in MSP and missed our connecting flight. When we finally arrived the systems were down and could not get new flights or hotels. We were told we could not get hotels and had to argue for an hour. Even though it was a maintenance issue. I arrived a day late and had to take extra leave. The plane from LAX to Tokyo was horrific. I booked a window seat, was stuck in the very middle. There was no way to charge outlets devices. The screen did not work. And my new luggage was also damaged with even more items destroyed."

Soon after we were told of a gate change, the marquee then said the flight would not arrive until 11 pm it is a one hour flight, so we actually arrived at 10 pm."

We took it upon ourselves to get re-booked on United Airlines. The American travel agent was pleasant but we would have been out of luck if we weren't proactive and frequent travelers trying every flight option available. Also, I've never been to an airport where you exit the boarding doors in the terminal then head down stairs to the tarmac to board a bus that make a complete lap of the terminal going near every AA plane obviously trying to figure out which one they need to drop us off at. If can get this close to losing people I now understand how luggage gets lost so often."

She acted like I was stupid and said "well did you turn it down?" Of course I tried that. I was very taken back by how she acted."

Cons: "Our plane ended up being delayed in Hermosillo for 2+ hours which caused us to miss our connections in Phoenix. The Mexican military gave American a very precise window in which they needed to take off from Hermosillo by, because of planned military maneuvers. The plan arrived on time but we missed our take-off window by 8 minutes. The ground crew and flt. crew showed no sense of urgency in getting the plane prepared to take off, the boarding of the plan etc. We could have easily taken off within the allotted window, except there was no sense of urgency or advance notice to any of the passengers. American in Phoenix made no attempt to accommodate us and we ended up having to buy tickets on Southwest in order to get home. Overall, a terrible experience."

Cons: "i had my boarding pass and chose my seat some time ago, in row 4. When I checked in, the AA representative switched my boarding card and I was told that my seat was no longer available. When I got to the gate, I spoke to the gate attendant. There were several people also speaking to them about their seats. I did not have a seat assigned to my boarding pass, so I stood until the entire plane boarded and the gate attendants could sort things out. In the end, I was given a seat at the back of the plane, even though booked my seat some time ago and am a Sapphire member. When I boarded, there was no room for my carry-on luggage. The flight attendant already understood what happened. She immediately took my bag, and found a space at the front of the airplane. This is the second disappointing flight in a row in 2 weeks I have had with AA. I'm not sure if it's just bad luck, or has something to do with the company. I had flown with U.S. Airways for years and never experienced any major issues."

Pros: "From start to finish the flight faced problems: unscheduled stop for refueling, change in planes for mechanical problems, emergency medical intervention, and more. Yet at every stage the flight crew and gate staff did an outstanding job communicating and seeking to alleviate passenger woes. With delays, we missed connections, and yet AA worked wonderfully to find alternatives. At the end of the day, we arrived at our destination, and even our luggage made the trip successfully! Wonderful courtesy, adaptability, and determination to serve. Thank you."

Cons: "All of the overhead monitors at the airport in Cancun said that our flight was delayed a half hour. Because of this, we checked into our gate about 40 minutes before the flight was to depart only to discover that the plane was taxiing out on the runway! We were greeted at the gate with no empathy--told that we were too late & all of the other passengers got there on time & they tried to page us 3 times! We were close by & never heard any pages. The plane left before it's scheduled departure time. We explained that the monitors said it was 1/2 hour delayed & they said, "never believe the monitors." We were treated very coolly by the two agents assisting us. Moral of the story: although the monitors in the US are the most up to date regarding departure/arrival times-- those in Mexico are not to be trusted. We were re-routed & got home hours later than planned!"

Captain Amy touched down in Phoenix was one of the smoothest I have ever experienced."

Having my elderly mother having to rush from one gate to other with no assistance whatsoever. Barely making it to the gate on time and luggage getting lost. Still to this time which is around 24 hours later from the flight, there is no response about her bags. Insulin was on checked luggage. She experiencing serious knee pain due to the fast walk from gate to gate. Fast walk being mention since she is old and can't run. Besides that, flights were good."
Pros: "Zero leg room! That actually was surprising as most other airlines have a lot more legroom. In flight entertainment was also lacking. Doesn't make sense to pay $7.99 for a 2.5hr flight. A lot of other airlines offer some sort of complimentary in flight entertainment. Also the luggage didn't start coming out for at least 30 mins of waiting at baggage claim. Not the worst experience I've had flying but far from being a good experience. It probably isn't worth flying united unless it's 1st class. But even they had to wait 30+mins for luggage!"

Cons: "Crew was rude, not just to me, but to other patrons. Flight was packed going and the man scanning boarding passes spoke to those of us asking simple questions as if we were stupid and defiant. Was he a prison guard in his previous job? On the way to Newark, I had an aisle seat. One of the stewardesses blazed by me with a cart ramming it into my shoulder without so much as a, "sorry." I'm not a big woman but maybe as I dozed off I leaned over a bit...There is no way she didn't feel her cart hit me. Rudeness, it seems is a part of the culture at United because the flight attendants coming back squeezed past the long line for the bathroom without saying, "excuse me." They did however, say, "I need to get by," and one of them brushed by the gentlemen sitting next to me and bumped his laptop and coffee. Overall it seems that the crew working these particular United flights have forgotten that we pay hard earned money to fly. Some of us are going on vacation, to see loved ones, and some are flying to deal with unpleasant circumstances. The staff may fly several times a day, but most passengers do not. There's a lot of prep and anxiety, that goes into taking a flight and a surly flight crew multiplies that anxiety. No one wants to fly with a crew that hates their job."

I was forced to check my regulation sized bag in the passageway to the plane as well as everyone else in my zone. Economy seat especially tiny and cramped. Unpleasant flight attendents."

They were rude; they didn't help their customers, including families with kids, get on other airlines; said they would try to getpeople out of SFO in the next couple days! When I realized I would not get to the wedding I was trying to attend, they siad they wouldn't refund my money' When I insistedon a refund they then said there would be a $19.99 cancellation fee. Eventually, they agreed on a refund. Pretty poor way to run a business. On the other hand, when I needed to cancel my Enterprise car rental, I was able to do it in less than two minutes over the phone - no hassle."

Not to mention they do not take electronic tickets like every other airline, and when the flight was delayed, I went to have my ticket printed and no one was staffing the desk and no automated kiosks were available. I managed to flag someone down and they wanted to refuse to print me one because "my flight was listed as earlier" despite me being emailed by them that the flight was delayed. I eventually got to my destination, but I will never book a flight with them again. Let's not even mention charging for water, the plastic seats on the plane, etc. Terrible airline."

The line was so long and slow it would have taken hours to talk to someone from Spirit. I called Customer Service and was on hold for 50 minutes before I could finally get refunded. This made me miss the last Spring Training game in AZ! I've been flying for 35 years and this was the worst flying experience in my life!"

We are only in Arizona for four days and it had everything important in it for us and our baby. The sad thing is that my smaller checked bag was shipped properly but we had nothing important in it. What I didn't like is what you can probably guess; I was dinged $55 for a carry on bag, check in was through kiosk only with agents available is something went wrong (the card reader on mine was bad), there was no complimentary anything on the flight - that includes water, and there were advertisements in the plane. Ugh,"
Pros: "On time. Pleasant crew. Price of flight."
Pros: "We arrived on time and safely."
Cons: "The check in baggage is now 40 pounds max, carry ons you are charged for, the seats don't lean back, advertising posters were located inside the cabin."
Cons: "We cancelled that flight from Denver to Phoenix. Please advise."
Pros: "The flight attendants were quite amiable and realize it's a cheap airline, which made it slightly more enjoyable"
Cons: "Extremely tiny seats that don't recline (and I'm a small person). The plane was delayed because they couldn't find a gate to dock in, even though the plane was just sitting there. All food and drinks are for purchase only."
Pros: "I bought a set for $14 so I boarded early."
Cons: "baggage charge is too high! And I got knicked for my carryon too $100 more cost. Never flown Spirit; did not know it's an airlines for those who don't bring anything. Not even free water on board or a soda - crazy. None of the seats on the plane recline - merely a cattle car airline."
Cons: "We landed in Dallas at 1 am, when we were suppose to land at 10:45 PM the day before. This was due to weather, and I know that Spirit can't control that, however, they PROMISED us that our connecting flight to PHX would be held for us. I would have understood if they said they cannot do that, but they promised us that it would be and then let that flight leave 10 MINUTES before we arrived. That makes no sense to me. Either hold the plane or don't, but why let it leave 10 minutes before we landed??? Anyway, I was then in the front of the line for information and was told that I could get on a flight to Las Vegas in 10 minutes and then get a flight to PHX later that morning, or risk not getting to PHX until 10 PM that night. They rushed us onto the plane and gave us a boarding pass for this flight and said that our boarding passes and hotel information would be waiting for us in Vegas. We landed in Vegas, and NO ONE from Spirit knew what was going on. It took another 1-2 hours for them to have our information sorted, and the only reason they had any customer service present was because a different flight had been delayed, otherwise we would have been alone at this airport with nothing set up. It was a really disappointing way to start a vacation."
Pros: "The crew was friendly and helpful and we left on time"
Cons: "24 hours before the flight was going to take off someone at spirit airlines deleted my seat and gave it to someone else. They claimed to me that I called in and cancelled the seat myself. Now I was stuck buying a new flight two days later for 3 times the price. This is the worst flight experience and there is almost nothing to do to prove what happened to me. They say I was refunded but the money is still not in my bank account. I had to file a claim with chase bank to try to get my money back. I will never be flying spirit again and will tell everyone I meet to stay away from this shady airline."
Cons: "It was Cold on the plane! Must of been extra! Did not like the nickel and diming of every single thing. By the time we paid for luggage there was no cost savings. Also every other airlines allows 50lb weight for luggage, Spirit is 40."
Pros: "Flight out was fiine."
Cons: "Return flight was cancelled due to weather and the soonest flight Spirit could offer was 6 days later. I took the refund and purchased a ticket with a larger carrier for 2x my original return flight cost for 3 days later since Spirit's 6-day solution understandably didn't fit my needs. I assume they couldn't honor my original purchase any better because they are small, have bitten off more than they can handle; leaving thier fliers SOL if anything goes wrong. Offering 6 days as a solution to a single missed day due to weather is unacceptable and entirely irresponsible. The message I got was - don't fly with us unless you have no baggage (because what you save is offset by a few bags) and don't fly with us unless you can deal with getting kicked to the curb for an extended amount of time. Spirit are at the leading edge of poor trends occurring in the airline industry, which will only benefit them and put your experience at risk."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled with no warning and spirit staff did nothing to try and get us on another airline. Haven't gotten a refund yet"
Pros: "My luggage came through undamaged and fairly quickly."
Cons: "No pre-chek. A big front was in front but was not big by any means. The gate changed and we left late due to plowing by our gate."
Cons: "I paid a lot more to fly with spirit. Had to buy everything . Never again!! At least the other airlines have a drink!!!! Seats did not recline and uncomfortable. Also had to pay for a window seat!! Attendants did not even look at me unless I had my credit card out!!! A rip of was all it was. Good luck spirit I'll take my business elsawhere! Be on time for once both my flights were delayed."
Cons: "Extra fees for everything, i.e. food, carry-on baggage. No reclining seats. Tighter spaced seats than other airlines. I didn't know this about Spirit. I will choose a different airline for my next trip."
Cons: "$104.00 for two small bags checked that could have fit in overhead bin. Never fly you again. You suck."
