Spirit doesn’t have screens at the airport to tell you which gate they are flying out of - must cost too much - only American airlines has them and i thought they were for the whole airport - how can you tell? so i went to the gate that said san diego - the only one. waited in line. find out as near the last one to board that i was at the wrong gate.

had to run to my flight leaving at the same time about 10 minutes away in an by running. Didn’t make it and Spirit only flies to San Diego once a day. So i miss Thanksgiving dinner with my family. So i have to go back to my apartment, an hour by subway, and come back tomorrow. First and last time flying with Spirit.

Ticket price was competitive.

No individual entertainment systems on the seat backs--4.5 hours is a long time to be sitting on a plane with only an overhead screen showing whatever movie the airline chose. Also, charging $125 for a carry-on pet that has to stay under the seat AND having it count towards as one of my two "free" carry-ons is ridiculous. The flight was delayed because one of the crew was late.

The flight itself was fine

I bought the tickets together, but was informed at the ticket counter that i had only purchased tickets—not boarding passes. Boarding passes needed to be purchased by paying extra if my husband and I wanted to sit next to each other. I tried calling the customer service line through kayak and waited on hold for a long time with no indication of wait time. When the gate agent arrived, we asked and were moved to seats next to each other right away. The ticket agent at initial check in was very abrasive and non-solution oriented. if what she was saying was true— that we only paid for tickets and had to pay extra for boarding passes together— that was never made clear during the booking process. It’s unlikely I’ll use kayak again unless I know for sure what I’m buying.

From the moment I checked in the limit for bags was 40 I s not 50 I s. The bag price to check one normal was 50$ plus 30$ if it was under 50 not 40. The customer service could not have been more rude the flight was delayed 6 hours for “crew “ reasons. We were given only $7 to use and. Or bing eas openfor food. Awful experience never want to fly again.
