My son, who I booked the ticket for, ran all the way to the connecting flight's gate. They'd already closed the doors, and wouldn't let him on. Consequently he had to be re-booked onto the next flight, which didn't leave until 2200."

It should have been DFW to JFK to Glasgow. Delta cancelled his flight. Citing "weather issues." My family researched this, and couldn't find any weather issues in the North East or NY area."

We were re-booked on connecting flights different then the one we originally booked and weren't even notified. They have a Delta app, but it doesn't even work right. Unless you physically go to the gate to check to see if the flight is on time, that is the only was to find out if you are re-booked onto a different flight or not. I have never flown an airline that re-books you on a different flight when they feel like it. I wouldn't recommend Delta Airlines to my worse enemy!"

I paid extra for a row assignment because I use the bathroom frequently and the girl that was in my seat obviously didn't speak English and I had to suppress that ICU nurse aggression and work with it because it was a short trip. But!!!! She annoyed the hell out of me when I needed to get up to the bathroom and she refused to get up and expected me to Jimmy my way around her in the sitting position and she somehow was in a deep sleep during my 3 minute bathroom trip. I had to tap her a few times to say let me back in and again she refused to get up and I had to Jimmy my way back in. Again the connection flight was far far away in a warm terminal unlike jkf where I had to go outside and catch a shuttle bus but this time I had time to grab food and use the restroom without running like a maniac to my next connection for Delta."

Having my elderly mother having to rush from one gate to other with no assistance whatsoever. Barely making it to the gate on time and luggage getting lost. Still to this time which is around 24 hours later from the flight, there is no response about her bags. Insulin was on checked luggage. She experiencing serious knee pain due to the fast walk from gate to gate. Fast walk being mention since she is old and can't run. Besides that, flights were good."

I was the last person to board. This was my 1st time traveling to that airport. No way to know that the Tran would require me to pass through security checkpoint again. Get better communication with people. The lady at the desk was just saying go to terminal A! They should have had a person directing all of us to go to the shuttle and bussed us to the terminal."

Cons: "When I booked online I knew that I would be paying for a baggage fee. According to the website it looked like the fee would be $30. I was okay with that as it was still cheaper than flying a different airline. However, when I checked in (also online), the price was now $45 each way - so a $90 difference. The other flight would have been cheaper. For this reason I will probably avoid Spirit in the future."
Cons: "I did not appreciate any of the tactics used to increase the amount to pay for carry-on baggage I have always brought a carry-on for a dozen other airlines and never got stuck paying the exorbitant rates that I was hit with from Spirit Oh sure, you have the measuring display there but hidden from view and not told to put your suitcase in it. Ours were off by a few inches too big. I didnt know until I was boarding that my bag was too big along with my wife and had to pay an extra $200 to have the bags checked. $200!!!!!!!!!! They said they made an announcement but between phone calls and bathroom i missed it. Who would have thought that our bags would not fit. On the return flight I went on-line to pay for the same baggage and it cost me $50 each or another $100$300 total which was more that the flight cost was. A complete rip-off. Cons: "Terrible customer service- there was no one at the desk to check in at Boston Logan. I was in a line of about 5 people, and after 20 minutes a group of employees finally shuffled out and one of them was still eating food out of a cup while "getting ready to open", as he told us. He was inconsiderate and rude when telling me he wouldn't check my bag early, and also informed me with a smirk that my flight was delayed 3 hours as well. No explanation. The rest of the customer service I experienced from the gate attendants and flight attendants was apathy at best- a far cry from the service I've received with many other airlines. My flight home was delayed an additional hour, and upon boarding we found out this was due to "our plane" being used for a different flight. I guess I didn't think that a smaller airline would have so many issues, but I was disappointed almost every step of the way. The website had multiple issues while I tried to navigate the process of adding a suitcase & choosing a seat, and I wasn't able to get my boarding pass printed at home and had to sign back in twice because there were website errors. We landed a half hour early on the way to Boston, but had to sit on the tarmac for exactly a half hour because there are only two Spirit gates. Once landed, we also waited a half hour for our bags at the carousel. Maybe one of these things would go wrong with another airline, but I've never had so many in one trip. I had heard some negative reviews about the airline, and thought I'd give it a shot, but never again. I'd rather pay more money up front and fly with Delta than be miserable the entire time I'm en route somewhere."

Cons: "The flight was supposed to be at 9:30am- we got a phone call at 4:30am telling us it was cancelled because of weather. I checked both the weather in Minneapolis and Chicago and both were clear and sunny. So of course I called them to ask what was up and was put on the phone with some poor outsourced person who had no idea which way was up and kept repeating everything on his screen despite it making no sense. He offered to put me on the next plane out but that wasn't until the next day. As I was flying up for a wedding this clearly wouldn't work. I then asked to speak to a manager but apparently no manager was available. He ended up refunding me for the flight and telling me a manager would call me back. When the manager called me back it really got interesting. She said the same thing he did "a weather advisory grounded the plane" when pressed on what the weather advisory was she eventually said Winter Storm Celine. IN JULY!! A winter storm advisory for a storm that occurred in late March was apparently grounding my flight in July! Absolutely incredible. After that I just walked away. Took my refund and ran as fast as I could away from that miserable excuse for a company."
Cons: "Spirit nonstop flight 616 from BOS to MSP on Tuesday July 26 was delayed for 4 hours due to mechanical problems with the plane, which was at BWI trying to depart for Minneapolis. Customers in Boston had to wait for it to be repaired in Baltimore and then flown to Minneapolis and THEN come back to Boston to pick up passengers. Scheduled departure was 7:42pm which got delayed four hours to 11:42pm resulting in a 2:20am arrival at MSP. Problem: At no time was this four hour delay announced over the loudspeakers to those waiting in the gate area, nor were there any options announced for those who could have returned home and flown the next day. Spirit did send email or text updates, but for those customers without cell phones or service, there was nothing. If I'd known, I could have gotten a good night's sleep at home and flown out the next day. Instead, it was four hours of tired adults and children waiting while restaurants and shops closed down with no updates announced. I don't mind the 'no frills' style, but Spirit"

Leg room.. a tray that isn't half attached.. and a complimentary soda. That model may work for some.. but selling the fact that they are cheap and then being forced to pay for every little thing is enough for me to say never again. After it was all said and done.. the price was double what the tickets were.. when I got done with all the extras."

We were finally on board by 3:30 (departure time) but the pilot blamed it on getting the paperwork late, and said we now had to wait for fuel. During that time, a couple storms moved in, and we ended up sitting on the tarmac for over an hour. It's one thing to be late, but it was a pretty pathetic attempt to divert blame to the crew at the airport."
