Cons: "The connecting flight from Atlanta to NY was rescheduled for an hour and fifteen minutes later, boarding for the delayed flight started late, closed doors were another 20 minutes late, spend another hour or so waiting for confirmations, during which no AC is on because of a malfunction on the plane with the electricity unit. Due to rough air conditions, no in-flight service, or very limited one - and all of those are fine by me, and not the airlines' fault at all. But then, during all these unexpected conditions, I can't even use the in flight entertainment system as i use Bluetooth earphones, and to get earphones I have to buy them for 2$. To earn excellent service, inspite of all the delays, AC malfunction and unpleasantness all you had to do was give those 2$ earphones for free. I have another flight with SkyTeam coming up and I do hope it won't be as unpleasant as it is a much longer flight."

Then, the flight we did catch was delayed in the air due to congestion at LaGuardia. AC was too cold for me. Admittedly some of these problems were well outside Air Canada's control, but the communication weaknesses were their fault."

I lost a night booked in a hotel in NYC as I didn't know if we were getting a later flight until just too late to cancel. Very confusing to get to the right place to rebook, even Air Canada employees seemed confused. Rebooking agent took ages. We had paid for preference seats and finally we got terrible last row seats in the rebooked flight. We haven't been refunded since!! Delays and more delays on the rebooked flight again."

I would have been willing to pay a fee to change my return, but not given the opportunity. Had I booked directly with the airline, they would have had no problem making a change. Buyer beware!!! If you don't book directly with an airline, you may suffer the same fate as me! This was an almost $1,300 dollar learning experience. Do not use third party online booking agents! You do not have the same protections as dealing with the airlines directly."

Although it's not expected, I was pretty happy the seat on my left was empty on first plane. On the sub plane they arranged an overweighted guy on my left which made the delay worse as he threw off the strong smell of curry."

Cons: "The flight was originally delayed by 30 minutes.. reasonable considering the high winds in both NYC and Toronto. Things started going wrong after we boarded the airplane and then were told the flight crew had not yet arrived from LGA. There is simply no excuse for airlines not keeping sufficient standby crew capacity to minimize these issues. This is a clear case of the airline under staffing at the expense of its customers. By the time the flight crew arrived we were just barely able to make the 8:45 wheels up time for our clearance. The flight to LGA was uneventful until we landed. We were then told our gate was occupied by another plane, a delay that was initially forecast to be a few minutes turned into what seemed to be close to an hour. As a result, I arrived home to my Manhattan apartment at least two hours later than I should have. Flight delays happen, I accept them when they are for reasons that cant be avoided... I look for other airlines (such as united) when they occur for entirely preventable reasons and result in back pain from being trapped in an airline seat for 3+ hours instead of the 1hr 15 or so I should have been stuck in the seat."
