Cons: "The crew was very rude starting from the gate. I was told that my carry-on was too big but yet there were people with bigger bags on flight. The crew was also very rude to fellow flight members. There was a small mix up with seats and instead of being nice to a lay they she was actually yelled at. The flight crew was very unpleasant."

Felt frostbite, couldn’t move fingers, and have a sinus headache. absolutely appalling this is NY and USA - yet we can’t have car services pick up pasengers outside the door of the airport, instead require to walk 7 minutes and stand in a freezing air tunnel airport garage. Changes my mind on flying to LAGUARDIA in the future"

Cons: "Flying with Frontier had to be one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. I arrived at the airport to find that they could not check me in when in fact my original Atlanta to New York plane had not left. The agent lied and made it seem like the plane left so I purchased a $99 ticket to Atlanta to Trenton, NJ, a local airport that was 1 hour and 46 minutes away from New York. I purchased the ticket and went to the LGA gate just in case and called the 801 number to be rebooked back on my original flight. The rep on the phone shared I would not be charged the $99 but today, 1/6/17 the charge posted on my credit card. I had to go to Trenton, NJ, send $33 for the NJ Transit, plus 2 Uber rides totaling $53."

Cons: "Baggage fees and we hit turbulence during take off and the pilot never made an announcement. It was stormy in ATL so you'd like to be warned. The flight attendant eventually made an announcement after there were screams as the plane dipped suddenly creating a roller coaster drop effect. Also the seats were impossible to get comfortable in, the arm rests too small and they didn't go up so although no one was next to me I was trapped in my seat. Also because I was in an exit row it didn't recline. Oh and the reading lights are aggressive. I wish I'd packed an eye mask to block out that light and the light from the exit sign. Thankfully it was a short flight. The airfare is cheap but after you pay all the fees you might as well book on a more comfortable airline."

I didn't realize there was a fee for carry-on and since I paid the fee round-trip, I might as well paid another airline that charged slightly higher for the entire trip. And then when we went on the flight the only thingthat was offered for free was drink we still had to pay for peanuts. Never again. You can't be the only flight out of NY and have NO Pilot available. Also upon check-in, I was led to believe that I could only choose a seat for a $10-$20 surcharge. It was NOT CLEAR that if I allowed random seat selection I could avoid this surcharge. SHAME ON YOU for HIDDEN COSTS."

On my return and upon picking up my boarding ticket i asked about my backpack and she told me it was a personal item and that it is free. She handed me a ready made slip of paper to call for a refund and said she would make a note in the system to this effect. When i called for my $80 refund i was told well the note in the system only mentioned your return flight so we will only return for that flight. Ok..ok. You see where im going with this. This is a class action lawsuit in the making."

That would have been fine if it wasn't for the fact that a delta flight left atlanta around the same time and landed in laguardia just fine shortly after we were told that we have to wait. When absolutely no one was there to inform the passengers what to do in terms of getting back on the plane, I just left and took the train home. Not cool frontier! Should have paid a little extra for a more reliable airline"

Cons: "A family of 4 with 2 small children sat behind my colleague and I on a 6:30am flight from ATL to LGA. There were 2 small children who disrupted my entire flight. Constant banging on the back of our chairs, slapping the trays up and down for 2 hours, slapping the plane windows, etc. After repeated efforts to ask the parents to have their children stop, the parents could care less about the disruptive behavior of their children. Complaints were made to the crew to no avail. The children were disrupting the entire 5 rows around them. These passengers should have paid for my and my colleagues flight, in addition to their flight, as they cause one of the worst experiences on a flight I've ever had. After this flight, I believe there should be a policy that if you have children on a plane, you should be required to pay more, allowing the people around you to pay less or opt out of having to be seated next to a passenger with a child."

REALLY? What on earth did I pay for to begin with? If you're going to be like that, put all those things in big font on your booking page so that people don't get caught off-guard. Oh, I'm sure you have it on your website, in some tiny print that no one sees"

Pros: "Very uncomfortable, seats did not go back and the attendance were very bad. Glad I only booked a one way."
Cons: "The flight attendance were very bad not friendly at all, but the worst was baggage claims. I've been flying for over 50 years and I've never ever had to wait that long for a bag. It took almost 1 hour for the first bag to come down, we were all very mad. I missed my ride and had to cab it, Never again I herd story's not to fly spirit now I know why!!!"

Cons: "I paid $36 to book aisle seats for me and my husband, but on the return flight, a smaller plane was substituted for the scheduled plane. As a result, we did not get the seat assignments that we paid for. I feel we should get a reimbursement. In addition, the seats were very uncomfortable - the fees for baggage were outrageous - in addition there was no free snack or beverage. I recently saw that Spirit Airlines was rated the worse airline in the United States and I agree with that rating."

Pros: "I am happy that the gate attendant called out my name before closing the door!"
Cons: "Because my flight was booked through Kayak, I DID NOT know about the many fees until the night before. I should have been able to get all the information days/weeks earlier. I paid $50 extra for a $75 flight - which was extra bad for me because I chose to take a 6 hour greyhound from St Louis to Chicago, instead of flying directly from STL to NYC. So, for just a bit more, my 12 hour travel day would have been reduced to 3 hours. The airplane was dirty and I swear to God, there was duct tape on the engine casing."

Cons: "I booked a roundtrip flight between NY and Detroit, intending to leave last Saturday morning and return on Sunday evening. I received a confirmation email from Kayak saying that my return flight was on the same day. I checked online at Spirit to see that my return flight was indeed at the correct time I intended (Sunday evening). However, I kept getting flight confirmation emails from Kayak saying my return flight was on Saturday. I tried calling Spirit and Kayak to get this fixed - as it made me worried I didn't have the right flight booked - and could not get any help. I was able to talk with someone about the return flight mixup, but they just promised me a new confirmation email with correct flight times - I never received this email or any relief that my flights were booked properly until I actually got to the airport. That was immensely frustrating and I spent way too much time on hold trying to sort this out."

Cons: "When we got there an hour early they had closed the flight so we could not get our boarding pass. Had to pay extra money to get on next flight. Seats are too small, so uncomfortable. Make you pay extra money for a seat. No snacks or beverage is ridiculous, not even water on an almost three hour flight and after waiting to board the plane. The bag fee was the highest I have ever seen Do not ever plane to fly Spirit anymore if I can help it. Ended up paying more than we would have with another carrier after all of the extra fees and less service comfort."

Very late departure and very late arrival. This is a nickle and dime airline. They advertise low fares and then they charge for everything else at ridiculous prices. By the time you pay for all the extras you could have ridden on a better airline where you could at least get a cup of water. Their web site is a horror story when you try to check in as you go through endless windows trying to sell "upgrades." Of course, you can get a nominal discount on your baggage if you purchase some membership for $59.99! Who are they kidding? I would never fly on this airline again.I realize things cost money but I don't like to be treated like an open wallet instead of a valued customer."

Cons: "Cancelled my flight 12+ hours in advance. Other airlines flew without any problems. Customer service from a foreign country stated they will not reimburse anything. It is in the fine print. Flight the next day had computer issues. Several false atarts of boarding and unboarding. Lack of communication, compassion nor offered any support or remuneration. Rude gate staff. No voucher nor free water. Nada, like their meal brochure states."

Cons: "You pay extra for everything. I was surprised they didn't have a coin operated soap dispenser in the lavatory. Retrieving your luggage at both airports was very time consuming. Checking in at Ft. Lauderdale was a joke."

Cons: "My flight was cancelled last minute, less than 6 hours before takeoff. I had already checked in! Thank goodness I checked the flight status later too. I had to scramble to make other flight arrangements. There were NO spirit flights until the next morning so I went with another carrier. Two hours before the would-be takeoff I get a call from some guy at Spirit. Wow thanks for the heads up, buddy. So timely. I am STILL trying to get my refund/travel voucher from spirit. It is impossible to do off their website because the flight status is 'closed.' Their 'customer service department' is a joke. Expect wait times up to, probably exceeding 1hr when you call. Good grief I thought I was saving money but it's worth the $50 saved to preserve your sanity and fly with a better carrier. One that cancels reasonably ahead of time and promptly notifies you."
