Well, I didn’t like much. The staff didn’t have any beverages except for coffee and water and they never came by. The food just sucked. There was no entertainment at all.

Plus the flatbed lay out meant you were basically lying in a question mark position, not so goof for tall people like my husband. The food was good but uninteresting and I think for an overnight flight there should be more smaller,lighter, non spicy options offered rather that full dinners."

The enclosure also protuded into my left bicep when I had my elbow resting on the arm rest. Table on my right hand side was too close to my body, and to high to reach a drink easily, I literally had to lift my whole right arm to pick up a glass."

Pros: "On March 4, my wife and I made a flight from New York to Sydney with a transfer in Doha, Qatar. We flew the Qatar airline business class. Everything was great despite a very large flight. New plane, very clean. Wide comfortable seats turning into a large comfortable bed. Great menu and good wine list. All staff are professionally trained and very friendly. All this made this flight very comfortable and we were not tired."

Example, on one flight I had a fish dish which was overcooked very dry and there was no sauce of any kind to make it palatable. I do not like to throw food away but half way into the meal I had enough. Other than that Qatar Airlines was really first class. The flight attendants were the best we have ever experienced. Their dress was immaculate, they were very friendly and attentive and were there to make the flight as comfortable as possible plus cater to all requests."

When boarding began, it started with "Group 1" rather than business and other priority customers. The flight attendants were incredibly friendly and courteous and were actually surprised when we only ordered one drink and one meal at a time! The food was phenomenal, especially for an aircraft meal, and no matter what I was in the mood for, they had it."

The entertainment is good but frustrating that it is constantly interrupted with announcement about everything. I have never heard that many on any other plane. The announcement about customs paperwork was long and done 2 times in English and 2 times in Arabic. There safety video is soooo long and again is done in two languages. It was just all too much. Besides that everything was great."

Pure scam to get you to pay to upgrade your flight, pay for hotel or be condemned to stay in there airport for a whole day. Never ever again! Don't fly them!"

Cons: "We sat on tarmac for 3 hours with no explanation from the crew or cockpit. Because of the delay, everyone missed their connections in Doha. The crews could have jet a couple of the flights a little longer for people to make their flights. The desk was filled with people and was very chaotic. There were so many people working there but no one could give you a straight answer so it was very confusing. I had to wait at the airport for 4 hours to get it sorted and was given a food voucher for $50 for the entire stop over. I asked about a flight voucher and they laughed and said they didn't do that even though they were the ones at fault. The crew was nice and the food was good but I will never fly quatar airways unless they remedy the situation."

But we all had to make do with our cramped seats. Maybe Qantas can plan this better. It isn’t so difficult as they usually know how many infants are travelling, in advance."

It seem as if short flights are getting a raw deal with old planes and sub standard food, systems to save costs. If they cannot maintain a consistent level of standard across all their products let another provider in who can."

These seats are often assigned to me and they are extremely uncomfortable. I booked a paid fare and did not claim points. My FF preferred seats are mid-plane, aisle. The screen had very poor contrast and it was like watching through cloth. To make it worse the entertainment system had very poor sound with long periods of frozen frames and staccato sound making it difficult to follow the plot. My wife's system (also FF) was the same. Not happy with the "special welcome" given to FF passengers!"

I just got off that flight and the person at the counter cleared my bags so I understand the money grab. Also flying 12hrs and then 8hrs and not having your meals complimentary is a big problem. Maybe they should’ve started preparing the supper meals on the ground too so they were ready to go when we finally took off just because it was a red eye flight of just 5 hours and it would have made much more sense to allow us more sleep time."
Cons: "The seats in business are totally weird. There is a metal foot rest that’s quite common in premium economy but the stretch seemed very short. I’m a short guy and I found my feet hanging over this bar which was uncomfortable. Also the pitch of the seat and short seat made both my partner and I slide down the seat. Perhaps the seats Jet star selects for its business could have calf rests that are located higher up so our legs are elevated more like in a chaise lounge or hammock for don’t slide down. The absolute worst thing about Jetstar flights are the passengers. The lowest common denominator Australians book budget airlines (especially Jetstar) and they rush the gate, over pack their 7kg of carryon, they are rough and loud and have little control of their children. They don’t know the difference beteeen inside and outside voices and speaking to someone face to face instead of shouting from a distance. Perhaps Jetstar should have a flying etiquette email and in seat card to remind people of how to behave. One braided head wench was berating the poor guy checking tickets at the gate who asked her to finish her water as a condition of EVERY AIRLINE and AIRPORT. He didn’t deserve her uneducated rudeness."
Pros: "Thanks for making my trip affordable, until I started wanting to check one bag over the 15-pound on-board limit, have some food, or even water!"
Cons: "It's important to be prepared for the extra costs associated with flying these low-cost airlines. I paid around $100 for each leg of my journey around Australia, Malaysia and Bali and it really added up. I had prepaid for the Air Asia flights, meaning I had to weigh my one checked bag, but didn't catch JetStar's rules until too late to do online. This resulted in additional fees, according to airport personnel."

Cons: "The rear of the plane was filled with screaming babies, loud uncontrolled children kicking the seats in front of them (mine). Equally loud mothers baby-talked continuously to their offending offspring with no effect. Cabin staff made no attempt to control the noise levels. I recognize some of these small children could have been suffering ear pain from the cabin pressure changes but trained cabin staff could have offered remedies for this. It does not explain the continuous screaming at cruising altitude. I recognize that JETSTAR is an intentionally cheap and nasty airline. I reluctantly took this flight because there was no quality service (like QANTAS) at the time I required. I accept the lack of amenities offered by REAL airlines like complimentary food, drink, entertainment and healthy legroom are the cost of cheap travel but I would have happily paid a higher price for QANTAS had there been a flight. I will not fly JETSTAR again and if no alternative exists with QANTAS, I will choose another airline in spite of my long allegiance to QANTAS CC: QANTAS"
Pros: "Accommodating crew & staff. She tried to help add ff miles at airport and when I thought I had lost my p'port tried helping. (I had put it in other side pouch & misplaced it). Found just prior to boarding. First time Jetstar, cheap and what I expected. Overnight Bali to ADL. My carry-on was under 7 kg & small 11 kg bag I checked ahead online for under $50 US. Already have booked economy fare to DRW, also CAIRNS."

Noise levels were terrible, couldn't hear the safety instructions because of the sound traveling around the aircraft.Luggage took a very long time to come off the plane."

Your passengers are people too, no just profits!"

I missed the hidden check-in option online which is a UX recommendation I have for Jetstar, to make this more visible (particularly on international flight selection). This was my fault, but being charged $160 at the airport to check a 9kg bag in made me feel I was being ripped off and left a sour taste in my mouth towards the Jetstar brand. I'll never fly with them again. Even movies and water needed to be purchased on the flight."

Jetstar flights almost always delayed, and this is even more intolerable when it is a 1 am departure time. And having to pay for all food, even water - I know this is a budget airline, but when airport security is so overzealous that it is nigh impossible to carry on your own water, airlines need to take some responsibility and provide hydration. Finally, not providing blankets and pillows while cranking up the aircon to arctic just adds to the unpleasantness. I get the budget angle, but this is just mean. I will not be flying Jetstar in the future."

Because I had to change flights I did not receive my meal or entertainment which I had pre-paid when I booked. When the plane landed in Melbourne we had to wait for 40 mins to be let off the plane. People said there were prisoners on the flight that had to be de-planed first. Because of this delay I missed my connection to Auckland. I had to wait another 3 hours (midnight - 3.00am) for the next flight."
