Pros: All was as expected, lights were out for a late night flight, and attendants were quiet and nice.
Cons: Our flight was delayed by 2 hours, so that had it's normal difficulties. This was I believe due to the weather, and not a fault of the airlines.

Cons: Before we boarded I listened to a couple described how they always went ahead in line at boarding because no one ever stopped them. They described how they waited until group 3 was called and then went right through. While we were waiting, we watched them do it again. If you need to cram people into tiny spaces to be profitable, then you cannot allow them to make it worse by putting back their seats. I spent 90 minutes with a seat back jammed into my chest. We were ignored when handing out snacks, probably because we were invisible behind the seats pushed in our faces. It was one of the most miserable flights I’ve experienced.

Pros: Good is that they sent you to Finnair to correct AA created break in service...why would they pay for it? AA is just an operator per itinerary! Why would you care if ppl get help with connections!
Cons: Checked in online on Finnair and automatically for the second connecting flight...and not the first -AA. So, had to check-in again for the first flight at the terminal. Board passes were printed 2 out of 3 by AA and both had errors - wrong gate for the first flight and no boarding info for the second connecting flight - just blank! AA did not provide connecting info until I found an unoccupied employee at the terminal and customer service lines were about 20 people in 2 locations I went to. The connecting info should be in the itinerary they said at customer service...nope, it was not there either!

Cons: We had five pieces of luggage lost during our flight from the U.S. to Spain. When we arrived in Madrid we were told that all five pieces had been located. When we went to pick them up the next day there were only four pieces at the airport. We were told the fifth suitcase would be delivered when it was located. It's ten days later and there's no sign of the luggage. It has taken multiple phone calls to get the information about the luggage correct. They assure me that they have everything correctly documented and then when I call back they haven't changed a thing. It has been a very frustrating process overall.

Cons: This was a BA flight on an American Airlines plane. Very small crowded and uncomfortable. My husband is 6'2" and barely fit in the seat.

Pros: There was nothing too bad other than I wasn't able to check in online bc our first leg of the flight was operated by American Airlines. But there wasn't anything that really stood out that would make me want to fly them again other than it was the best price.

Pros: The crew was very helpful at each stop even though they weren't responsible for the disasters.
Cons: Initially we thought we were flying with British Airways. We then had to do some digging to realize it was all out of American Airlines. Then we couldn't get proper boarding passes and luggage tags until one of the crew members spent a significant amount of time untangling each leg of our trip so they were in the proper order. We got delayed by 4 hours in Chicago and missed our connection in Manchester. We had another 5 hour wait there. By the time we got to Dublin, our bags didn't also arrive. After almost 24 hours of travel, we arrived but without all of our stuff.

Cons: Some passengers took their masks off and were not told by the crew to put them back on (they were not eating nor drinking). Also, crew made an announcement that we would do a social distance departure and for everyone to remain seated until it was their (row's) turn. However, several passengers ignored this. The crew did not enforce the social distance departure. They should / could have continued to enforce these rules over the loud speaker as a general statement if they didn't want to actually confront individuals. -- for both masks and to wait in their seat.

Pros: Stewardesses were very nice and pleasant. We left timely and arrived on time.
Cons: My seat got randomly assigned and I was put on the back row window seat with no window. I wish I could have selected my seat from a list of free spots (w/o extra charge). I don’t like that you are charged for everything: seat change, water, and any snack. I would expect at least water as passengers get dehydrated from flying. Seats are uncomfortable, not much space from seat in front, and there is no recline. Feels crammed. Lacks hospitality majorly as I am charged for every little thing. I hope they don’t start charging for oxygen intake. I was not informed of entertainment options, but I’m sure they were not inexpensive. I will not be flying with Spirit Airlines again. There are other airline options that are less expensive (after you add all the additional fees up) and much more comfortable and hospitable.

Cons: My flight was delayed 7 hours. I never recieved an e-mail letting me know of this even though I gave my email when I bought the tickets so that I would get updates on the flight. I checked the flight status before leaving my house at 2am and the flight was still on time. After driving 2 hours to the airport and going through security I found out that my flight was being delayed 7 hours and no representative was even at the gate to speak with. All I was given was one $14 meal voucher which didn’t even cover a full meal at the airport. It’s told that the issue was mechanical but I later found out that te first flight had been over booked and the 1pm flight didn’t have enough people on it so they made everyone on at 6am flight wait until 1pm to fly out. Once on the plane, the seats were hard and uncomfortable and the plane was cold. I am extremely disasiflied and will never use Spirit again.

Cons: 40lbs is the bag limit?!? Absurd. That should definitely be made more obvious before checking in. Paid $40 to precheck and then another $30 because bag was 47lbs. Seats are tiny and beyond uncomfortable. Flight crew dropped a soda and it exploded on myself and the woman next to me. They had an attitude about it and then expected us to still purchase food/drink. A complimentary beverage could have been offered at the very least. Checked luggage came out smelling like vinegar got poured over my bag. Nice $70 treatment. I will NEVER EVER fly Spirit again.

Cons: I didn’t like that from the time I got a boarding pass upon arrival at the airport, to when I was boarding, something changed and I was not notified until I got to the front of the line to board the plane and the attendant went to scan my pass and told me (with very vague direction) to go get a new boarding pass at the counter. By this time the area is completely full of people lined up to get on two different flights, so navigating out of line and then back into line once i has the new boarding pass was a disaster.

Pros: Tickets were super cheap! Kiosk check-in was a breeze, as was boarding. The plane felt pretty new, with comfy seats and decent leg room. The crew were professional and courteous, and many snack and drink options were available.. Any additional costs were very well indicated, in kiosk check-in, as well as the in-flight snack menu. Minor delay was well documented and announced (national ATC issue slowed the plane's arrival 15 minutes; accounting for that 15 minute shift, everything else ran on schedule).
Cons: Nothing is included. In exchange for those super cheap tickets, anything beyond the "one personal item" is charged a la carte, so plan to pay for any additional carryons, any luggage, seat choice, any (ANY) drink, snack, water, coffee, soda (but at least they seem to take plastic).

Cons: They delayed our flight twice, then ultimately cancelled the flight. Problem is, we drove 9 hours from Salt Lake City to Denver in order to get these cheap flights. We were headed to visit family and had things scheduled for the next day, including tickets to a baseball game. They told us we had to wait 24 hours for their next flight out, and by this point we weren't sure that flight wouldn't be cancelled as well. They said it was due to "weather" and "air traffic congestion", yet literally every other airline still flew their planes out of Denver that night. It basically translates into: "Here at Spirit we're the lowest on the totem pole." and better yet their customer service was so horrible they could not care less about their customers. We then read thousands of negative reviews about this airline and their frequent cancellations, horrible customer service, etc. and wondered how in the world we allowed ourselves to book tickets with this world-class organization. So now we're stuck in Denver with nowhere to stay. We ended up feeling more comfortable booking tickets with a legitimate airliner for the following morning, and had to get a hotel for the night. Then since we arrived to our destination at a different time than planned our family was no longer able to pick us up and we had to spend $70 on a cab. In the long run it ended up costing us a few hundred more dollars to get to our destination so that we could still do the things we'd had planned. Oh also, they didn't even call us or anything about the cancellation. One of us just happened to check our email and we noticed the flight cancellation. So that's great. And the cherry on top was when we called to get a bloody refund they shorted us $20. So my $20 is now floating around in Spirit cyberspace along with my dignity and sanity. If I could give these guys less than one star I would.

Cons: During a difficult weather situation, Spirit was absolutely useless and left us stranded for a week. With storms on the East Coast, Spirit cancelled flights two days in a row (as did all other airlines). However, with Spirit, the website was useless for rebooking ourselves, and there were so few representatives at the airport and to reach a rep on the phone that we waited several hours just to be able to rebook at the airport. In the end, Spirit could not get us on another flight out for 7 more days. Causing extreme additional expense to me and my travel partner. I will never risk flying Spirit again.

Cons: Spirit canceled our flight and their only solution was refund or wait 3 days until they could get us home. Had to spend thousands to rebook to get us home the next day on another again. Never again.

Pros: i have flown spirit multiple times out of phoenix in all kinds of weather and not once has it ever taken off on time! once the airline attendant even yelled at the passengers upon arrival at the gate like we were all children. I decided to check the status today instead of waiting in the airport for four hours and yes--- again it was delayed one hour and then two hours. so I planed accordingly and planned to be at the airport 1.5 hours ahead of the revised flight time. then they changed the flight time again and now I've missed my flight. this airline is absolutely the worst and I have flown domestically and internationally for over 35 years. I'm done with you spirit!

Pros: Spirit is the worst airline I have come across in my life. They cancelled our connecting flight and refused to refund the entire fare, as well as apologizing to us that there were no more flights available and there was no other flight they could put us on. This airline is actually no cheaper than any others when you add the enormous amount of hidden fees and charges, and you'd better like low quality in everything you do if you fly spirit. Thank god American Airlines had a flight at the same time and we were able to make it home in time for work the following morning, but to say that spirit is a garbage airline is a colossal insult to the hardworking men and women in the waste management industry. Cons: I had an important business trip on Sunday 12/18. I bought a ticket for a Spirit flight. I didn't print my ticket at home - thought I'd just go to Spirit's ticket counter, and they'd take care of it. BUT The agent said I'd missed the cut-off. She wouldn't honor or print my ticket - even though i probably could have made it through Security and made my flight. I WAS 5 minutes later to the airport than I wanted to be, due to a delay on public transit. That was all it took. I asked the agent if she would please print the ticket and let me try to make the flight. If i missed it, I said i'd eat the cost of the ticket. No. Because the agent would not budge,wouldn't even print the ticket so I could take my own chances at my own risk, I missed an important business trip.

Cons: I paid $190 for the plane ticket based on the price comparisons on Kayak. Because of this hasty and naieve commitment, I ended up being forced to pay $200 more (surprise!!) for round trip tickets for my carryon and checked bag. If i had wanted to choose my seats (extra a charge) or have a snack on the flight (extra charge) this flight would have been immensely expensive. And the seats are incredibly hard, uncomfortable and do not recline. Almost $400 for a round trip of discomfort and unpleasant surprise charges...I'm betting this airline will go out of business quickly due to lack of repeat customers.

Pros: Random seating got me a front row seat in the bigger seats. That was a plus.
Cons: My flight was delayed for 5 hours on the way there because of a problem with a valve then a computer malfunction, the crew didn't handle it well when people understandably were upset asking for an eta and were told, "15 minutes, 15 more minutes, 15 more minutes..." over and over for 5 hours. They could have at least provided a complimentary drink. The flight attendants didn't were not customer service oriented at all. They were visibly flustered and rude about the whole thing. When the head flight attendant was asked "Should we just never fly spirit airlines again?" She answered with a "mmhmm" and a nod of her head. Also, They charge 50$ to carry on a bag....? Never heard of that one. I will not fly t his airline ever again.

Pros: Very cheap flight! Nice attendants. Good pilot. I seriously didn't even feel the touchdown. I never experienced that before!
Cons: I was lucky enough to only be traveling with a small backpack - which is good - because if you didn't pre-pay for a carry-on, we were told by the gate agent it would be $65. And if you didn't come up and pay the $65 - it would be $100 when you boarded! What?! All economy seats are small now but at least they recline a little. These didn't - and they're smaller. The most painful flight I've ever had (only 6 feet tall) - the seat is stick straight! if you have a carry-on and especially luggage - just pay the extra for another airline. The price will definitely even out and you'll get a seat you can actually breath in! At one point they were trying to sell so many extras I thought they were going to start a time-share pitch. So unless you just have a back pack or purse - stick with another airline.

Cons: I woke up at 4:30 am in Denver to catch my 8 am flight to Los Angeles. I had to catch 2 trains to get to the airport and missed my check in time by 2 minutes. LITERALLY 2 minutes! I was the only one in line behind another couple just to correct the issue. The ladies at the service counter were less than happy to be there, probably because they have to hear about all the terrible stuff that happens when people fly Spirit. They said I had to be checked in 45 minutes to boarding and I got there 43 minutes to boarding. The lady informed me that I have to get another flight, with a layover, and land in LA 5 hours after the original landing. On top of that, I had to pay $99 for their inconvenience? Here's the kicker! I got through TSA and what do I see? The plane I was supposed to be on to LA still parked and boarding! On top of this, no courtesy email reminder to check in. Horrible! They need to brush up on basic customer service. Spirit airlines is the biggest con in the sky. I booked flights with them before and have had ok experiences, but this ridiculous. I have a Spirit flight to Chicago on November 5th which I booked through Kayak that I'm already dreading.

Cons: Spirit uses every opportunity they can to charge you for something, then pat themselves on the back for offering a stripped-down, low cost service. Base fare - $90 Selecting a seat - $20 Carry on Bag - $45 Printing out your boarding pass at the airport - $10 Water onboard the plane - $3 All told, the flight ended up costing me nearly double the base fare because of all of the fun "extras" I had to pay for. Meanwhile, my very nice American Airlines flight on the way to Denver cost $70 with no extra charges attached. Yes, they literally charge you an additional fee to select any seat - there's no seat included with the base fare. Yes, they literally charge you to carry on a bag. Yes, they literally charge you at the check-in counter to print out your boarding pass. Yes, they literally charge you for water while you're on board the plane. Yes, they literally cram more seats into a plane than any other airline, then tell you to "cozy up and high-five your neighbor for how much money you're saving." Then while you're on the plane, they have the flight crew mongering the Spirit Airlines Visa card as if they haven't already done enough to debase the notion of good customer service. But the fact that Spirit goes out of its way to offer the worst possible flight experience, then tries to act like it's doing you, the passenger, a favor, is simply infuriating. Spirit, we get it, you're a terrible airline that milks every line item of the purchase like a sleazy car salesman. Don't act like something you're not.

Cons: A Spirit ticket clerk in Detroit was the worst human being I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with and ruined any possibility of me enjoying any single aspect of my flight with Spirit airlines. Spirit also has a horrible automated customer service phone system. The process of getting a human being on the phone felt intentionally difficult. I had to do a bit of online research in order to finally find the sequence of numbers to push in order reach a living person. On my return flight from Denver I was mislead into paying 110 dollars for two carry-on items that didn't require purchase, however the ticket clerk did her best to refund the price of the two carry-on items (I have yet to see the refund pend or post to my account, but we'll see.)

Pros: I booked a flight to Colorado for a wedding. I'm poor, so every little bit helps. The cabin crews both times were cheerful and friendly.
Cons: I bought two checked bags (one for there, one for back). I didn't want to spend the money, but I was in the bridal party (thankfully able to use one of my old dresses), so I had to have the extra space. But at the airport I discovered that the bag I was bringing was instead able to be brought onboard as a free "personal item." The people at the counter assured me that I would get a refund. Well, no refund. I get a "credit" for free checked bags, which I have to use within the next two months or it expires! How can I possibly afford another ticket, do they think their low prices attract jet-setters? This is actually not a good thing for me, I really am poor (like, I had to give up lunch for a month in order to afford a checked bag, poor), and I am very unhappy about this. I will not fly Spirit again. I hope they enjoy my $60.

Cons: Passengers were not offered water - only beverages for sale. Crew turned on lights during the late evening flight to play a "customer appreciation week" trivia game (which prevented anyone from sleeping or resting), and then - very loudly - promoted a credit card. Seats do not recline at all. In addition to this unpleasant return flight, I had a disastrous experience getting to Denver in the first place - I had to book seats on a Southwest flight after Spirit closed our outbound flight from Detroit ridiculously early. Spirit makes it very difficult to check in online, and the Spirit counter at Detroit lacks adequate signage to direct passengers to check in at kiosks immediately upon arrival. We had a bag to check, so we simply got in line for the counter, when apparently we needed to check in immediately at a kiosk - when we reached the counter, our flight had been closed.

Pros: The cost of the trip was very low - with all the frills removed, air travel can be relatively cheap. Plan ahead - you will not be able to use TSA Pre-Check, you will have to pay extra to carry on a bag (so buy your bag online at the airline's website before you go to the airport - this is the cheapest way to do it as they charge you more to purchase the carry-on at the check-in counter and even more if you wait until the boarding gate), and you will have to pay for all beverages including water and provide your own in-flight entertainment. If you plan ahead and know what you're getting into, flying Spirit can be a pleasant experience. The flight staff is friendly and polite.
Cons: The seats are very close together - don't expect to have any leg room - and they do not recline. Bring a neck pillow if you have any intention of sleeping.

Pros: It was simple and convenient and got me where I was trying to go cheaply. It was fairly clean n what not and I liked how kind of hip it felt with their process and design. It really does feel like a modern airline sort of like an uber or something but in order to make it cheap they do cut down on pretty much anything that makes the experience kind of luxurious. The chairs were quite thin for example and no in flight food was complimentary. I was able to take my large backpack on the flight free as a personal item so that was great too. They have a metal frame to check the size of your item. If it fits in there it can be a personal item. My backpack was able to squeeze but typical carry on's may not. It also really felt like an airline for the youth which goes along with that kind of young and hip feel. Good stuff.
Cons: The thin somewhat stiff chairs were difficult to sleep in.

Pros: I chose Spirit's flights from a listing on Kayak. The flight APPEARED to be less expensive than others listed.
Cons: I was furious to discover large additional charges after my nonrefundable fare was purchased. Having to pay an additional charge for a basic seat was an insult. Why wouldn't a basic seat be included in the ticket price? The ticket can't be used without one! Having flown on another airline a very few months ago with no charge for a carryon bag, HavING to not only pay for a single carryon, but pay more than the cost of checking the bag was infuriating. Findng additional charges for even a small soft drink during the flight simply added to the offensive sales practices. Having duly paid these fees, the extremely tight spacing of the seats allowed for absolutely no movement during the flight. Immovabe seat backs and cheap hard molded plastic seats did nothing to alleviate the feeling of disregard for customers. During and after the flight, I heard a steady stream of customers saying that they would never fly with this airline again.

It is marketed as unbundling, but this isn't advertised until its to late. i was shocked when I checked in online and was required to select a seat and tonpay an additional fee for it. Because other, less expensive seats were taken,I had to pay $50 for a seat on a flight that I already paid for. There was a fee for my bag, regardless if I check or carry on. Everyone has at least one bag! Unless I'm flying to be there for a couple of hours, I need a bag how dare you charge me for a seat and one carry on size bag. These things are standard. Food was very limited and very overpriced for the minuscule items. I had to pay $2.00 for about 10oz of coffee. In the end, Also, none of the seats on the flight recline so forget being comfortable and resting on the flight b In the end I paid more for this flight that I did when I made the same trip in Jet Blue. This "unbundling" is a marketing tactic designed to sooo customers into spending money on additional (some required) fees. I will never fly spirit again.

Cons: Flight was hours and hours late, with multiple flights cancelled before all piled into this one. Worse, poor communication alerted us flight was late, then after we delayed leaving for airport accordingly a new message said flight was on time after all. On arrival at airport, flight was indeed late--but more than two hours later than originally stated. Poor relatives had to pick up my son at arrival airport at 1:00 in the morning. We will never, ever, fly your airline again, and will tell everyone how unhappy we were with trying to save a little money with you.

Cons: When checking in could not choose my seats when I was checking in my luggage took way to long the person that was assisting me seemed very in knowledgable clueless to be honest told me that the person at the gate would help with the seating she could not give me a receipt for checking in my luggage when I got to the gate the gentleman there told me that I would have to hold back and see if there even be a seat for me at all that the flight was very full I book my flights a month in advance that was the last thing I wanted to hear was getting very upset than another gentleman came over and assigned me our seats so over all I would give them a D+ at the best guess I just expected more professional company hope the return flight goes better

Cons: This was the worst flight experience I have ever had. Spirit switched their flight to a smaller airplane at the last minute and left about a dozen passengers without a seat, left stranded on a flight they PAID FOR, checked in online for, and ARRIVED AT THE AIRPORT over 2 hours in advance for. They refused to communicate with us as we waited. They were completely understaffed and left a single employee to handle this. His ineptitude delayed the entire flight and stranded passengers remained stranded. Horrible, incompetent, disorganized, and completely Spirit's fault.

Pros: There was absolutely nothing special or worth returning for on this airline.
Cons: The reality of airline travel is that almost every person brings luggage. Your airline has taken advantage of this allowing me to book my flight with your airline all to be charged a rediculous amount for luggage. That was only the beginning of the disappointment. Then you have managed to squeeze even more $ out of us by charging an "optional" seat choice because all people have seating prefrances. All that aside your damn company is so cheap that you won't even give us a free drink/ soda or juice. God knows after the flight, luggage and seats I feel like everyone has paied enough that you should be able to give us a lousy drink. I asked for a cup of ice and never recieved it. Flight attendants were pretty snippy and one of them damanded that I "pull down the window shade" claiming to keep the plane cool. In all of my life and all the flights I have been on I choose a window seat whenever possible and have never been asked to close my shade by a flight attendant. Hell if it needs to be closed you might as well not even put windows in. After all that to to it off my bag did not come out of the carrocel when I got home. It was turned off and left over bags collected. The lady who was helping started to call around and investigate. Ironically I decided to get the insurance and when I brought that to her attention she tells me that spirit has no association with the insurance and it was my responsibility to "hire a lawyer" and bring this to this unknown insurance company that won't even work with the baggage handlers. The while thing was a compleat disappointment from beginning to end. Lucky for you guys there are enough people in this world so you don't have to rely on return passengers.

Pros: Some of the flight attendents were hilarious! It almost (not quite) makes up for their poor service.
Cons: They cancelled our flight on the way back, which happens a lot I understand. The earlist flight they could give us was more than a week later, and they offered no other solutions. We ended up spending twice as much as we were given back for our cancelled flight in order to get home. Not only were they not helpful in finding this flight (my husband had to run around the airport looking for a flight home) but they also could not confirm the amount that would be refunded when we called back later. They also give you a lot of hidden fees (i.e. $90 for a carryon rountrip).

Pros: Despite what it felt like; they didn't actually beat me with a stick.
Cons: My car broke down on the way to the airport. The airlines wanted to charge me $300 (+100 for a bag) for a one way ticket to my destination when my original round trip ticket ticket costed 150 (+100 for one bag).. Not only did spirit fail to refund either of my plane tickets they also kept the bag charges. I had to deal with customer representatives on the phone three time. All the representatives were nearly impossible to hear due to their low volume and nearly impossibly to understand because of their thick accents. By far the worst travel experience I've ever had.

Pros: Walking on to the plane I was greeted by two flight attendants who were very freindly and making small talk with almost everyone who came onto the plane. The captain was also standing in the doorway to the cabin and was greeting passengers as they boarded. I noticed that the captain had brought two young children in to the cabin to show them the front of the plane, I didn't know that happened any more! I was VERY impressed and have never experinced such kindness and professionalism on a flight. Thank you for making the flight the best experience I've ever had on a major airline! Pros: The flight was very cost effective.
Cons: There was a presentation made to all passengers midflight trying to get everyone to sign up for a credit card in return for a "free" flight on the airline, presented as a gift. As a captive audience member, I found this very unprofessional, especially since the airline first proclaimed that all passengers could have a free flight then appended their statement with "as long as you sign up for a Spirit credit line." I also don't like the $10 charge for a printed boarding pass at the airport from Spirit; I understand the concept of modularizing costs, but there is no way the act of printing a pass for a passenger costs the airline remotely close to $10. It is a clear attempt to capitalize on a customer's forgetfullness.

Pros: Boarding was relatively quick and easy.
Cons: While the flight crew was perfectly friendly, the credit card announcements they made on behalf of Spirit were very loud, disruptive, and ill-timed. Like myself, most customers prefer to sleep or rest quietly during red-eye flights. This was all but impossible during my late night flight from Denver to Detroit. Approximately half way through the flight (after 10pm local time and after midnight for the time of our destination) the bright cabin lights came on and stayed on for the duration of the flight. I assume this was to keep everyone awake for the loud and incredibly drawn out announcement about in-flight credit card offers. This severely impacted my comfort and the comfort of others, as we were forced to play captive audience. I felt like I was enduring a hard-sell tactic from a timeshare salesman, only there was no means of escape. I respectfully suggest that Spirit limit the length of credit card advertisements, and refrain from announcing them all together on flights late at night or early morning (or at the very least engineer a less disruptive form of communicating these offers). After completing the final leg of my roundtrip journey, I will not be flying with Spirit again. Thank you for your time.

Pros: Plane was clean and the crew was friendly and professional. Spirit refunded part of my ticket when my connecting flight was cancelled.
Cons: After flying Spirit Airlines for the first time, I came to realize a cheap flight doesn't save you money in the long run. Flight delays, cancellations, and added costs meant I didn't save any money flying with Spirit. I booked a flight from Cleveland to Denver with a lay over in Dallas. My lay over in Dallas was canceled due to weather. I understand that the airline doesn't have any control over the weather but they can control how they treat their customers. The best Spirit could do was offer me a flight to my final destination 21/2 days later. Meaning I would be stuck in Dallas for 2 days and I would have to pay for a hotel out of pocket. I ended up paying for a hotel overnight ($171) and booking a flight first thing in the morning with Frontier airlines ($89). Coming back, once again there was problems in Dallas during my lay over. The flight was delayed 3 hours.

Pros: Because carry on bags cost more than checked, the line to check in is quite long but boarding is generally quite smooth because you have fewer people fighting for overhead space.
Cons: Spirit's big claim and advertising push is that they will save you money by only making you pay only for what you need. In theory that's great. But their practices make it clear they're not in the business to save you money but rather to entice you with a cheap base fare and then find lots of individual places where they can price gouge. When my husband booked tickets, they told us that checked bags would be $21. We factored that in to the price and decided this was still there most affordable option. But I guess you had to pay right then, because when I checked in the night before, it cost me $40 per bag. And my husband checked in day of and was charged $50. We also couldn't sit together because they wanted to charge $9 to pick seats. It doesn't cost the airline anything to let us pick seats nor twice as much to carry your bag if you pay for it on flight day, so these extra fees and escalating prices don't say "we're all about saving you money," as they claim. In the end, we paid $195 in bag fees (40+50+40+40+25 for one bag over 40 pounds), couldn't sit together, and didn't even get a glass of water.

Pros: My second row seat was quite spacious
Cons: Flight was delayed for over three hours. Then once on board we were constantly told how many minutes until we would be leaving then sat there probably 20 minutes past that time. Overall I was probably sitting around for three times the actual length of my flight. They gave everyone a $50 voucher for their troubles which was nice, but it has used to book within the next two months. Seriously? I really do not even want to fly Spirit again ever and now they are giving me a time constraint to make up for their inadequacies. Terrible airline.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: The flight was delayed then cancelled. We were given the choice of refund that will arrive a week later or to take a flight a 9 pm tomorrow. The reason for the cancellation was said to me a crew "time-out" that was caused by the rain. There was no other compensation for the cancellation nor did they get ahold of everyone to let them know it was cancelled. After dealing with the gate I found the customer service desk and waited for 2 hours just to talk to someone and was told nothing they could do.

Pros: this flight was delayed for 3 hours. i ened up looseing my job because of it. i called and complained and no one can do anything but give me 50$ on my next flight with you guys BUT I WILL NEVER fly spirit again. I WANT MY MONEY BACK also on the flight you guys were charging for water are you kidding me?!!!??? after being delayed and having upset flyers you should at least do a free drink. ALSO your flight attendant wouldnt sell any alcohol on the flight which was dumb and probably wouldnt have happened if you did something nice for the people flying. like a free drink...

Cons: Did not like the fact that i was on time to my flight but my flight didnt not leave for an hour after it was schedualed due to a "computer" problem. It didnt seem like much was wrong since all the mechanics were just sitting around talking to the flight attendants. Also the plane kept making this unusual grinding sound before we even took off as well as while we werr in the air. The flight attendants were very rude to alot of people, careless with the credit card machine dropped it very roughly on the ground and laughing about it. I am pretty sure the older one of the three was drunk because she reaked of alcohol , I didnt not catch her name but she was the ruddest of them even to an elderly man and a small child. Then Liz was also very rude to customers as well as having an attitude that was as if she didnt carr about her job. The man Gustavo was not to bad he just spoke over the intercom as if he was new. My mother who was traveling with me asked for a seat belt extender twice and the third time was finaly given one and laughed at by the staff and the during the flight she discoverd a roach in the pouch in front of her. Also back to a referance to the bad staff a woman sat next to us asked for a pain killer or some sort and was told " i cant give it to you before we take off, and if i could we dont have anything other than our own"-liz then twords the end the poor girl was sweating drasticaly and holding her stomach and the older attendent whose name i did not get came up and said " WHATS WRONG WITH YOU?" and laughed. Over all i was NOT haooy woth this flight i do understand the fact that i GET WHAT I PAY FOR BUT THAT WAS JUST RIDICULOUS.

Pros: Nothing. Flight was cancelled. That was just the beginning of a travel nightmare. I can't believe Kayak compromises their reputation by representing a shoddy, sham of a business like Spirit.
Cons: Cancelled flight at the very last minute because of lack of crew. Not enough staff to accommodate travellers trying to rebook flights. Inept and apathetic staff who were obviously resigned to the fact that Spirit is a substandard airline There was miscommunication and lack of communication in organizing travelers which caused multiple altercations between upset travelers. It was a very disturbing experience. My rebooking took an hour because the staff member didn't know how to rebook! The 'Supervisor' who was at the next desk, was SLOWLY checking bags for other customers and did not help AT ALL. I suggested that he switch places with my agent. He ignored me competely. Attempts to call Spirit resulted in multiple auto transfers and ultimately an intentional auto cut off. I was rebooked on United. When I checked in at their desk, they told me that all the other transferred Spirit customers before me had been sent back to the Spirit Desk because their transfers had not gone through. I have been warned about Spirit. Now I would warn anyone considering Spirit. If it goes right, you're ok. If not, get ready for a travel nightmare. No one needs this kind of abuse.

Pros: Cheap base cost for ticket.
Cons: Total cost ends up being >>>> Southwest after having a bag or two, whether it's checking in or carrying on. They charge for everything and everything is up charged so much - want a carry on? 55$. want to check it? 50$. realize that you want to carry it on but forgot to pay because you did it online? 100$ It's kind of like the Oprah of airline hidden fees. Start off at $15-20 cheaper than everyone else. Then all of a sudden - you get a bag charge, you get a bag charge, YOU ALL GET A BAG CHARGEEEEE!!

Cons: Denver has a blizzard the night before. Let's assume, it's going to remain a cold night after the snow stops. If your flight leaves at 710 am, you might think there would be ice and frozen things on the plane that might need to be addressed before the flight can depart. at 730 they come out and say "the plane's engines are frozen, sorry" Why was no one there earlier prepping the engines? There was NO indication by the crew that any prep happened before. They gave us the impression that they were as "shocked" as we were. I would have assumed that it would have been an issue for all the airlines, but the American flight that was at the gate next to us took off on time, as did the other plane next to us. This is clearly a Spirit airline issue. I somehow made it to denver international airport on time, against all odds. I was going to be able to make my meeting in San Diego on time, but then the ONE thing that's supposed to go off without a hitch (the airplane being ready to go) didn't. All because of clear lack of preparation after a storm. Never again spirit airlines. EVER.

Pros: We made it to our destination safely.
Cons: Flew United to our destination, then spirit home. The overall cost of flying spirit is more than their competitors. They charge for everything! Spirit bag prices: 35$, before online check in only, for up to 40lbs. Price goes up for bags you checkin 24 hours before your trip and goes up again at the desk. United: 25$ For up to 50lbs. United offers a free movie onboard the flight through their app. (download the app before your flight) and complimentary drinks and snacks. Spirit: no movie option, 3$ for a bottle of water! By the time I paid for my tickets, a seat next to my daughter, hot tea on board the flight, and the expensive baggage prices, it would have saved me money to fly United. Also, the kicker, when checking in for my flight we had to wait in line almost an hour because there were only three workers at the check in booths and the line of people there to check in was all the way down the lobby! I showed up 90 minutes before my flight, as recommended for domestic travel, and nearly missed my flight because the check in process took so long! Going through security didn't take as long as the check in did. I also had to pay extra to assure a seat next to my daughter! Are you kidding me! Will never fly spirit again. United did not charge extra to pick my seats. People want to feel they got a good deal, and something for free. Even if it's only a bottle of water on a flight.

Pros: Cheap fares but then lost all my money because they weren't helpful.
Cons: Security took too long and spirit doesn't have mobile boarding passes so I missed my flight. Then after I ran to the spirit counter they didn't offer my a voucher for another flight nor a refund. They said they could move my flight to the next day or do nothing. I fly a lot and have never ran into this problem before. Don't bother trying to call their "customer service" phone number either because it's the wrong number, then you will be redirected to an answering service that doesn't work, then placed on hold for 20+ minutes, followed up by a service rep who isn't helpful and doesn give you any answers.
