Cons: "My flight from Detroit to Denver was suppose to land at 1:15 ish and I had an interview to make at 3:30 thinking that I would have plenty of time to grab my bags and and get a cab to greenwood which is where my interview was. The flight was delays almost 3 hours and I was not able to make my interview which was the whole reason I flew to Denver in the first place. I understand that things happen but now Im out of a possible job that I was interviewing for and I am also out the $250 that I spent on the flight. The flight was delayed because they didn't have a crew to fly the plane which blindside is always 20/20 however it seems like pretty poor planning."

He spoke for four hours without a minute of silence! Several of us seated near him were clearly uncomfortable. I put my iPod earphones for about an hour for a break, but could still hear him. I know that it's no fault of Delta, but it made for a weary flight."

American seems to be only airline to do this, I will have to reconsider flying with you in the future."

Cons: "The overhead space was smaller on this plane and as I learned on my trip to DTW my weekender carry-on would not fit with my shoes in it. Because of this, I pulled my shoes out and put them in a collapsible bag that fit under the seat in front of me along with my small personal bag as I had done on my previous flight. However, the gate agent would not allow me to board the plane and would not listen to my explainations at all as I tried to keep the boarding process moving along. She kept repeating "you have 3 bags" and made me steep out of line and check my carry-on (which I would then have to pick up at baggage claim). When I asked why I couldn't get out on the jetway like she had done for other passengers she said, " I only did that for airline employees" (quick happened to be a flight attendant from Spirit). My overall experience on both flights to and from Detroit was that the gate agents and flight attendants were the most unhelpful and rude airline employees I have delt with and I will stick to my preferred carrier, Delta, for my future flights back and forth to Detroit. They certainly make me feel like a valued customer when I fly them, which I did not feel with American."

I had to purchase a room, taxi, and then spend the following day in the airport as that flight was repeatedly delayed. I booked a direct flight and was not rescheduled for such. Still waiting for reply from American Airlines. First time flying with this carrier and disappointed is an understatement."

Cons: "Flight was changed without notice did NOT go to Charlotte instead flew Detroit to Dallas! To Tampa- a little out of the way. After we were checked in and ready to board I then got a call to notify me the flight was changed. Boarding was awful made me check small carry on when there was several open over-head compartments and several others were walking in with two + carry ons. How do you explain that? I will NEVER fly American Airlines again. The airplane from Dallas to Tampa was ancient, a little scary to even think it was still in the air. The air conditioning was minimal I could hear other passengers complaining it was extremely uncomfortable."

I was only trying to be helpful and got my head bit off... I get It. It was a stressful situation, but the crew doesn’t need to add insult to injury. They’re getting paid hourly whether flights are on time or not. It’s the passengers who have a right to be anxious."

Pros: "I loved the pilot taking time to greet my boys and give them wings! My boys loved sitting in the co-pilot's seat and hearing "the plane talk." Once we got to our seats, the flight attendants were very helpful and kind and we, actually, landed early! Yaaayyy! My boys won't forget their flight to Houston because of the cool female and male pilots they met while traveling. Thank you!"

I was put on a standby list for a flight leaving later that night and I didn't get it. I was told I had to wait until 7am the next morning to get on a flight. After asking, I was given a hotel, cab, and 2 food vouchers. The taxi took me to the hotel united chose. I got there and there were no vacancies. I had to pay for my own taxi to a different hotel that luckily took my voucher for the other hotel. after all this mess I only got 2 hours sleep. The 7am flight waited for its connecting flights. This delay cost me a third of my trip and money on my first night at my hotel."

Cons: "Had to run from one plane to another. Was told that plane was overbooked and I could not get on. Arguments over who and how many could get on delayed plane by over one hour. I was allowed on, but our plane could not land in Aspen as a snow squall socked it in just before we arrived. Had to bus in from Grand Junction in unheated bus. arriving at 3 am. Worst trip to Aspen, ever."

Made everyone on the plane check rolling carryons, said they would hand them back to us upon leaving the plane. Then told us when we were leaving the plane told us we would have to get carry ons through baggage claim. Then baggage claim was not ready had to wait another 45 minutes to retrieve our carry on items. Wifi stopped working halfway through the flight."

The WiFi I had in my seat wasn't working, and the crew seemed more somber than cheery. I did not at all enjoy my flight. Also, becuase the flight was that late, my ride couldn't pick me up so I had to fork out 50$ for cab fare."

Cons: "My flight was cancelled and i missed my meeting on Dec.10, 2015.. We were suppose to go Washington to Portland, Maine.instead we went to New Newark..At lenght wait... And after all that waiting we are offered a drink of soda or juice. What gives? Nothing else?"

Cons: "It was snowing in Aspen when we tried to land. We left late for whatever reason I can't remember and then a de-icing that they said would only take 10 minutes took 30. Aspen airport has a strict closure law of 11pm. We didn't get above Aspen until 11:05 then the runway wasn't cleared off so we had to circle around and attempt again. They couldn't keep up with the snow to keep the runway clear. If we would have been 15 minutes earlier and had not been delayed for numerous reasons, we would have been able to land since the storm was just starting and the people on the runway at aspen airport would have had more time to clear the runway instead of it being after their shift was over. We didn't land back in Denver until 12:15 and I didn't get to my $250 room until 1:30. Why is it that I have to pay for errors of other people? Not to mention that I missed almost a full day of work and will be docked pay for that as well (another $100) because we didn't get back into Aspen the following day until after 1:00 (also because of awaiting aircraft). I am sick of awaiting aircraft excuses as well!!! These are united's fault and travelers recieve zero compensation for their tardiness!!!"

I was able to check in with Frontier and get the gate and seat assignment even though the flight had been cancelled the day before. I found out when I arrived at the gate at the airport. Frontier did nothing to help me get to my destination. I was forced to buy a last minute ticket on another airline to get to my business meeting."

Cons: "Starting with boarding- what happened to loading the back of the plane first? That was much more efficient! That way the people in the back don't have to wait for row 8 to get settled before the rest of the plane can proceed with boarding. Once you get to your seat, it's so uncomfortable! They're molded in such a way your head always leans forward, they don't recline, there's very little leg room or side room. Arm rests are half the size of the usual, and tray tables are also half the size! If you're on the plane for an hour flight, it's do-able, but any longer than that, you'll be miserable. For the record, I'm tall and thin, and I felt squished sideways."

Pros: "Overall, I was VERY happy with both my flights. I've been flying Spirit the past few times I've traveled and after flying Spirit for so long Frontier was a breath of fresh air! The lines to check in our luggage were minimal, each flight arrived about 30 min early to our destination, we got our luggage back in a timely manner. Operationally, our flying experience with Frontier went without a hitch!"

As I mentioned, we've had been flying Spirit quite often and after so many headaches with flying that airline I was happy to pay a little bit more to fly Frontier and not run into any complications of any kind! Thank you for being operationally on top of your game Frontier!"

Cons: "The plane was uncomfortable. The seats do not recline, there's no where to charge electronics and the planes were dirty. Both of my flights were delayed by two hours and updates of the flight status was not updated while little information was provided as to why the flights were delayed."

In addition, when I went to check into my flight there was no attendent at the ticketing counter because there was no flight for 2 hours. Cons: "They overbooked the flight, so we were told to get there two hours early, 3:30am! So we wouldn't loose our seats. The plane wasn't even full. And security doesn't open until 4am. A bunch of BS. They charge for carry on. They charge for check in. They charge for your seat selection. They charge for any type of good or beverage on the plane. $2 just for a small cup of coffee. I am surprised they don't charge to use the restroom. All the money I thought I saved from flying Frontier was quickly used to pay all the extra fees."

Then when I got to my destination my bags where not there I had to wait till 4:45pm the next day. No refund was given for baggage check they made it seem like it was no big deal."

Cons: "When you go to check in and choose your seats, each seat has a dollar amount...I thought I already paid for my ticket!! What they don't explain is that you can check in at the airport and get your seat assignment (without paying extra) and leave it to chance, or pay for a seat reservation in advance. Water was free...that's it. You could buy "snacks" with a credit card only. We sat on the tarmac for 1/2 hour waiting for another flight to leave...this airline company feels new, like they are "flying by the seat of their pants"...in the long run, I paid the same amount as a more well known carrier, so I don't see the benefit to their "spare" and "more affordable" approach."

Also, poor customer service, yelling at passengers to step up to line, waving them forth to counter rather than stating, 'next please'. Not friendly"

Cons: "Having to pay for a seat and baggage after buying a ticket. I got an earlier standby Delta flight on Friday so I skipped the first Spirit flight (which ended up being delayed anyway). On my flight back to Denver today, I found out in the terminal that my entire trip was cancelled because I missed my original outgoing flight. I was never notified of this cancellation through email or phone call. I was then asked to pay another $200 for a one way ticket back to Denver. Luckily I was able to fly standby on Delta again instead. Never flying Spirit again. Terrible customer service as well."

Pros: "Thank you to the staff member who got us through TSA in order to board our flight on time. Very close call. Without her quick thinking we would not have made it home in time for my sons first day of his new job as a lifeguard for the YMCA."

Cons: "I arrived 2 hours before my flight and needed to drop off my checked bag. I waited in a huge line at the detroit airport. I made it into the roped section of the line then a "last call" was made for Denver flights and they went to a different line. I was told (with a bunch of other people) that since we were into the roped section of the line we should stay. Then all the denver passengers behind were brought to the front and the people that were told to "stay in line" got screwed and failed to make the flight due to simply trying to check baggage. Approximately 30 of us were told to go down to the spirit office to rebook flights. The office workers were no help and very unsympathetic to the fact that people's travel plans were ruined. I ended up having to rebook a new flight from a different provider that day to protect my other plans at my destination."

Cons: "To start, when we arrived at the Detroit airport at 5:30am for our 7am flight, the line to check bags was clear across the building. It eventually got to the point where they had to make a special line for our flight to check in at around 6:30am. Fortunately we were towards the front of that line and when we finally got through security we raced to our gate and made it just before they were about to close the doors. There were many people behind us still trying to make their way either through the check-in line or security and we tried to speak up and tell the flight attendants just that as they announced we were shutting the doors and about to push back. One lady sitting near us was on the phone with her friend whom she was traveling with that was at the gate along with a dozen other people trying to get on the plane. When we tried to tell the flight attendants to wait, one flight attendant had the dignity to come over to me and said "if my party wasn't on the plane then I could get off the plane." Finally, they opened the doors one last time and about 15 people came through, however, there were still plenty of open seats on a flight that typically is quite full so I'm certain many more missed the flight. Once we got to Denver it was no surprise that only about 12 pieces of luggage came through the carousel so more than half the plane was missing their luggage. We were then told that if we had a late check-in, which everyone who checked luggage did, then we would have to come back to the airport to retrieve ti. Fortunately, they made an exception for our flight and our luggage was delivered the next morning. All in all, I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated with the way Spirit handled everything, with the exception of finally agreeing to deliver our luggage. The lack of communication, efficiency, and concern, between everyone at Spirit, those checking people in, the flight attendants, the luggage crew, the person in charge of lost luggage, is so unacceptable. From now on, I will gladly pay more just so I NEVER have to fly Spirit ever again! They not only lost my business but also from those who were on the flight with us standing in line to file our lost luggage claim as well."

Cons: "The checking in process was fine, as Long as you added your carry on bags within the same process for a smaller fee. However, the "random seating" option that you choose is not actually choosing a seat; therefore I was denied boarding even when I checked in and my seat was given to someone else. I was told nothing until the plane left the terminal and I was told to "get comfortable" while waiting. An hour later, I was given the option to fly the following day home to Denver with 3 layovers, and a full day of traveling. Its hard to travel this type of airline when they have complete disregard for personal plans and do not communicate with their customers the hidden fee's. Bare fare is a way of saying you are paying for the possibility of flying, not even a guaranteed seat."

I hate spirit I would rather pay the extra for the ticket price and have some conference and some amenities than a beer flight price and be miserable 2 to 3 hours on a flight this horrible Spirit needs to do better"

Pros: "The only reason I fly Spirit is because of the cost of the ticket. I'll deal with the rest of the customer service issues, but the people at the ticket counter were rude along with the flight attendants."

After landing in Denver it took more than an hour for anyone to get their bags; I waited 1 hour 5 minutes at the baggage claim for my bag."

Pros: "Spirit did ultimately get me to Denver."
Cons: "It took over 48 hours to get from Detroit to Denver due to weather and security issues. The fact that these issues came up is not necessarily the fault of Spirit but Spirit did not offer any conveniences or accommodations while I had to wait for the issues to be resolved."
