The flight itselfe was fine in every other way.

I would've liked to be able to check in on line in advance for this and other flights on this trip, if you ever decide to open up that facility (without a charge), it would be appreciated.

Cons: Three hour delay due to wiring issues, cramped seating that made it impossible to get even the most basic of maps, and our flight attendant was upset that we didn't notify them that we were vegans in advance. We didn't know that they had vegan options, and weren't upset about not eating the in-flight meals. She was much more upset about it than we were and it made me uncomfortable refusing the food that I knew I couldn't eat. Other passengers even asked us if we had eaten anything. It was almost embarrassing.

To start off, i was flying with two other people and we were not able to get seats together, and the whole seating process with delta is really difficult even when I had called weeks in advance to see if they could try and seat us together. I understand with main cabin tickets you can only choose your seat as you check in, but it would be nice to be able to request seating with a person/group you are flying with. I was placed in the very back row of a busy flight, and noticed that the horrible smell from the bathrooms which made it unpleasant. As said above, I normally have a pleasant experience.. but being a delta sky member I feel as though i do not really receive any differences as to a non-member. Pros: Flew premium economy/delta comfort + and was a great flying experience. A taste of business without the $3000+ ticket price. Food was excellent, a huge step above economy. Extra comfort with wider seats. And priority boarding as well. This was more like premium economy that you get with European airlines. For long haul flights, well worth the cost. Flight was delayed 2 hours, but Delta had their own special route in Shanghai airport to bypass a lot of the crowds either transferring or checking in for fight. I wouldn’t have made my connecting flight if they hadn’t. Plus my checked bags went straight thru to my final destination in china,n instead of having to pick up and re-check them in Shanghai.

Called HoJo’s to confirm they had non-smoking rooms available. Got on the hotel’s shuttle bus and the driver announced that HoJo was full and all voucher holders would go to Rodeway Inn but those without vouchers would go to HoJo....huh!?? Called HoJo and the same person I’d spoken to 20 mins prior said it was correct, that Rodeway was a sister property. The Rodeway Inn Metro Airport is pretty disgusting. This is my opinion after coming from remote Mexico and extensive travel in Africa. It should be torn down. Delta/HoJo should not send customers there.

Pros: Even though we were in the very back row, we did not experience a foul smell from the restrooms. This was a very nice relief. It is bad enough that the seats don't recline and there is no window in the very back row but prior experience with the added nausea of foul restroom order has been a serious insult to injury. In this case there was really minimal odor. Also since we are traveling as a family we are very happy that we were seated together. We have experienced the past that sometimes our seats will be fragmented and that creates major challenges when you are traveling with young children. However on this particular flight the ride was rough during both takeoff and landing, a lot of side to side shimmy. Also the cabin pressure varied quite a bit during landing causing all the kids to complain about some discomfort in their ears.
Cons: When I bought my ticket last Nov , I paid extra to select seats, only to discover no aisle seats available for the 15 hour flight from LAX to Guanghzou. I tried many times to call CSA LA office using toll free and regular number, but could never speak to a human. Last November 7 I missed my flight home due to the Thai King's motorcade causing the road I was on to be closed for more one hour. I arrived at the CNXairport nearly one hour before the scheduled departure time, only to find CSA check in counters already closed. CSA Bangkok made me pay for a one way ticket home on Nov 8 even though all 3 flights were not full. I arrived well I'm advance and checked in. CSA began boarding 30 minutes before the time shown on my boarding pass and closed the aircraft doors shortly aftethe boarding time listed. No wonder I missed my Nov 7 flight! I wrote CSA LA a letter including the receipt for the one way ticket and requested a refund or at least a reply or home call. I never received a reply. I have flown CSA/Delta from Detroit, MI to Chiang Mai, Thailand 5 or 6 times in the last 3 years. It seems they don't care about customer loyalty. In the future CSA will not be my first choice and I will pay somewhat more to fly another airline.

After booking a day-room at a local hotel, I checked in on-line and discovered for 115 euros I could have upgraded to business class, with luggage included, and been accommodated on schedule changes. My suggestion to Lufthansa is if they intend to rip their customers off it's best NOT TO LET THEM FIND OUT ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE, or if they're simply too incompetent to match marketing offers to their booking department they could save considerable income and reputation by closing the ticket office. As it was, the impression was a low-class money grab. It's not like they can count on their partnership with United to make them look good.

Cons: Just odd that I walked a mile thru the airport to make the connection only to board a shuttle bus that went back the same direction for the longest such ride in my life, past parked planes, maintenance areas, fuel storage tanks and finally the cargo plane section where our plane was located. Might be hard on those more impaired than I am to handle the stairs down to the bus loading dock and again up into the plane.
Pros: The flight from DTW to FRA was made that much better by a particular flight attendant who actually remembered it was my first time flying. She checked with me personally as we were disembarking in FRA to see how my flight was. I unfortunately did not catch her name, but she was the highlight of the flight. If I fly again, I will definitely fly Lufthansa for flight crew like her. I skipped the evening meal as I was feeling unwell, but I had the breakfast. The fresh fruit, and especially the watermelon was delicious. There just wasn't enough of it.
Cons: The seat cushion was rather stiff and made the 8-hour-long flight just a tad uncomfortable.

Cons: The seat I had with no seats in front of me was very small. Much smaller than the other economy seats because the tray table and video screen were in the armrests. Paid extra for the legroom by ended up losing it side to side. Really had to squeeze into the seat.

Pros: We are guessing they either overbooked or they didn't have sufficient passengers on a Tuesday afternoon who's final stop was Glasgow. They rebooked him for 1200 the next day. DFW to MN, St Paul to Schipole, Amsterdam to final destination, Glasgow. So he ends up having to pay for another Lyft back to our apartment in Dallas, then another additional one for the 12 noon flight the next morning. If he didn't have family living in Dallas, he would've incurred a hotel fee too.

Pros: On both of my flights to New York City, I was amazed at how friendly and helpful the flight attendants were to the passengers. On my short flight from Basel to Amsterdam, a young French speaking girl was concerned about how to manage getting to her next gate. The flight attendants talked to her and arranged for someone to take her there. On my longer flight from Amsterdam to New York City, there was a customer who was in distress about missing a previous flight and not making it to her connecting flight in New York. One of the flight attendants reassured her until she stopped crying and calmed down. That same flight attendant was always so positive and cheerful in all she did. The rest of the crew was top notch. This was my best experience flying in such a long time. Well done, KLM crews of flights 1984 and 0645 on July 10!

Cons: KLM had bumped us to a later flight for no reason and again we had to call with a long wait to get our original connection restored, However, we did not get boarding passes during checking in Europe and thus had to go outside security in Detroit to the main check-in gate and wait 30 minutes to get the error resolved. Then it was back thorough security and a rush to the gate to get there in time to board. Lost our original seat assignment and wound up in the last row at the tail of the plane. Extremely poor coordination between KLM and Delta who operated the flight.
Pros: Efficiency and speed of boarding was acceptable. I have no complaints about that aspect. The Comfort+ seats were worth the upgrade, pretty comfortable and reasonable legroom unless you have a big carry on stowed under the seat in front of you.
Cons: The first announcement they made to all of us in the economy section was thay they did not have any headphones for anyone but business class. I was told when I booked the seat that the headphones would be complementary. So I did not bother to bring any assuming they were going to keep their word; I figure I'd make it work and watch a movie without sound. If that isn't bad enough midway through my nine hour flight my monitor went out and would not turn back on.
Pros: Crew was friendly, and the food was better than the usual KLM fare.
Cons: The "new" seats were hard and uncomfortable. Avoid any kinds of seats near the bathroom in a configuration with 3 abreast next to the windows. The "aisle" seat is essentially a "waiting area" for the rest room.

Cons: It could have been the perfect trip, but I am not sure why SAS baggage handling is so mediocre. In both the flights from EWR to OSLO and back, every aspect of the trip was super, except for the wait for baggage. In Oslo, I estimate having waited at least a half an hour at the carousel before the bags started showing up, and the same in Newark. We had long cleared Immigration, which normally is not a speedy process, and yet still had to wait at least 20 minutes for the FIRST bag to appear on the carousel. Most annoying, particularly after a relatively long flight, and especially for transfer passengers who needed to recheck their bags to continue to other destinations.

Pros: The food and entertainment on board is great. I was very pleased with how they organized the checking of bags and the fact I picked it up at my final destination without any issues and right on time.
Cons: Some of the staff at the check in desks can be very rude. Also, on my initial flight, they closed the check-in early and left many of us stranded without knowing who to talk to and how to manage to get on the plane. When someone from SAS finally came, I was told I would be escorted through security and most into the plane but then the "manager" or whoever was in charge denied it. The plane did not leave for another our and instead of arguing with the costumers they could have just helped us get on the plane. It was unfair of them to close the check in desks early and on top of that to catch a plane the next day they wanted to charge and exorbitant fee. I Wii never fly SAS again.

Pros: The seats were very comfortable -- the plane wasn't very full, so there was room to spread out for some folks. As a vegetarian, the lunch meal was EXCELLENT, thank you. There was a second snack given just before landing that was basically roasted peppers on bread that was not good -- so you know, many vegetarians actually have sensitivity against peppers, so perhaps another vegetable or option would be better there. Crew was very affable and helpful.
Cons: See point before re: second snack. Our flight was delayed for two hours, presumably due to snow in Oslo. The boarding area was disorganized -- something I remember from flying through Norway a few years ago as well. I also didn't quite understand why I received priority boarding, as a United gold member on my outbound fight, but not on my return. So the inconsistency was a bit confusing/frustrating. But the flight overall was smooth, and the accommodations quite good.

On-line boarding continues to be an issue for Green Card holders returning to the US - why not explain that one cannot pre-print boarding passes and instead must go to boarding pass issues-line as soon as one enters the airport.
