Cons: "One of the flight attendants who stood at the front of the aircraft during boarding did not help us with our luggage placement in the overhead bins by our seats in row two. As a result we had to place one carry on several rows back which did, of course, make it difficult to get to upon landing. Subsequent to that, that same flight attendant helped a young man with his carry on with placement directly above his seat in the first row.Later on, I asked the same flight attendant if I could have some hot water for my wife (helps her with breathing). He came to me with a full cup of very hot, almost scalding, water and a small bottle of water. He did say that the water was very hot, but did not offer any ice to cool it. Naturally, we had no place to partially empty the cup and had to hold it for some time to let it cool. I did ask again for cooler water, but he said none was available."

My empty plastic water bottle had to be discarded, however, my friend's 32oz metal water bottle with water in it was allowed on the plane. She was able to get her water bottle filled during the flight, but my water bottle was tossed by the staff prior to the flight. How does this make sense? This was a 7 hour flight during which only 3 times were we given a small cup of water. That is crazy! Airplanes make you feel so dehydrated, and three small cups of water is not enough for 7 hours, that is absurd. Please, just like all other airlines and flights, allow people to purchase or fill their water bottles (regardless of the material of the bottle) prior to the flight so that they can remain comfortable."

The staff in Chicago told me they couldn't promise to get me food to Quito, Ecuador, but that they had put in the request for my returning flights. When returning, I spoke with the staff in Ecuador & come to find out that no request was ever put in. There were only notes of my initial inquiry about requesting vegan meals. Fortunately, the staff was great and were able to get me a vegan meal and told me that they put in a request for my connecting flight. When getting to the gate for my connecting flight the following day, the staff tells me that there is no request for a vegan meal. They were great and were able to get me one, but it was a bit annoying to have to keep dealing with the same issue on all four flights, especially, when I had spoken with someone prior to my 1st flight."

Sometimes you can watch on the iPad in a browser, other times you need a flash player or the AA app. Have a common way of at least accessing the internet, otherwise it can take 10 minutes to log in if switching from a GoGo yo Panasonic service. It is just too difficult and buggy. I am glad I don’t actually pay for the internet."

TV monitors in the middle and everyone has to watch the same thing. Of course, the sound system did not work for one entire side of the plane so I could only watch the movie and not hear it. If you are not going to have individual monitors for each seat, allow your passengers to what from their mobil devises like almost all other airlines are doing."

I understand safety is paramount and am grateful we eventually were able to find another plane, but it begs to speculate if things would have been smoother on a BA plane."

We sat completely upright for the duration of the 6 hour overnight night flight into Dallas."

Cons: "the AA flight arriving to Charlotte experienced a door malfunction that delayed deplaning by 15 minutes. Not a big deal unless you had a close connection to begin with. Result was a dead sprint to Charleston gate where no attempt to hold the plane for those passengers. Also, a black, middle-aged woman with short hair working the ticket counter had the personality of a piece of cardboard with zero responsiveness. AA should reconsider who it places to interact with the general public."

On a transatlantic flight of 10+ hours that is not overnight, it is a bit much to expect customers to fill that much time if one cannot read because the lights aren't working. The flight attendant said it was a very old plane as the reason why, not exactly what one wants to hear. Also, the plane was different than the one I prepaid my seats for, thus the money I spent on bulkhead seats was wasted as we just got two normal seats. Not a good experience."

Then, when we finally got on the plane and were about to take off, the air traffic control tower called and said that their flight path was incorrect and to not take off...but didn't give them a new flight path for nearly two hours as we sat on the runway. Nationalize the airports in DC, fire the whole lot and start fresh, I'd say."

I get bad weather, I wouldn't want to go up in a plane in a thunderstorm regardless of the circumstances....but I spent almost a day getting to my destination that should of only taken9 hours tops. Delay upon delay, arriving right when my next flight was leaving. Very rude staff, I saw an attendant yell at a mom and daughter like she was their mom. Non-apologetic to anyone. Their goal is to shove you in the plane and shove you out. Are they safe airline? Yes, they will get you to where you need to be...but not before they make your life hell. I don't normally do reviews on anything, but United still has me frustrated even a week later. I almost forgot, they did give $20 to eat. Do you know how expensive airport food is?"
Pros: "Flight got cancelled after a 10 hr delay. No compensation offered. Told us too bad so sad. Pushed us off onto American and acted like they were doing us us a favor. Today was the day I swore my allegiance to Southwest Airlines. I don't care if you gave me a lifetime supply of flights and the CEO, your business model pales in comparison to that airline. Disgusted is the only word I can use to describe my experience. Save the hassle, use southwest even if it costs more."

Cons: "First of all the flight was delayed for hours for no reason then the plane got packed because it was delayed so they kept on selling tickets to fill up the plane because the plane was half empty all of a sudden the plane was full of people no more chairs I tried to get the exit row from where you do a check in to get your pass to go through security my credit card was not being excepted nothing wrong with my credit card it worked totally fine in the airport restaurants and for other uses I had to use for but it would not work to upgrade my seat to an exit row united is the worst airline ever seen in my life I am a little bit big for normal size I totally understand that but when you have people that are big like me not that big I'm only 61 230 pounds I was put all the way in the back would not be able to fit in my chair for a four hour flight and when the plane had three exit rows available and the crew for their flight 395 United from Chicago to O'Hare October 18 I will never forget this day totally beautiful day in the city Chicago United Airline decided to delay to make more money I understand it's good business but there are people arranged for the flight do you have available of time therefore now the plane is totally full understand you're trying to make more money this is not the worst of it here comes so when I asked to get the extra chair because my credit card was not working when I got my pass to go through security at that point the exit chair was $67 to upgrade I was totally afford was willing to pay because I understand my size but then when I got to my flight into my airplane that's the airplane Stewart to allow me to get a extra chair and I told her I would pay for it then the lady came and told me a ridiculous price told me $149 not acceptable was not able to afford double the price when I already purchased a ticket and was willing to pay the $67 that's one issue on how the plane flight started when we are sitting on the runway for over one hour and not moving something is wrong with the plane they're saying then we should not be waiting over four hours of delayed then we should've been put in on a new plane fine you're looking to make more money this is good business whoever was the decision-maker of tonight needs to be fired from United or O'Hare airport when all of this is going on don't forget now I am the last seat on the airplane but cannot fit in my seat my knees are smashed against the seat the seat that's not decline it is the last row in the airplane now i'm totally not comfortable that's fine so now the store is giving drinks and taking orders for people to eat or order their food when the story gets towards the back she says we are totally out of food packs we only have snacks which is peanuts after a delay of an airplane I think you should understand it's obviously the people are hungry in the airplane for your mistake there are kids that were on the airplane crying there was a lot of chaos in this flight"

Cons: "I understand that spirit flights are offered at a lower rate because of their bare bones concept, however....riding a spirit plane is one of the most uncomfortable and miserable experiences one can put their sore, achy bones through. Did they really need to remove the ability to sit back more than 90 degrees? Did they really have to make the tray tables so small that they serve zero purpose whatsoever other than to take away some of the precious space you have between you and the seat that's crammed in front of you? And no water. Not even a sip of water without a charge card. I'd rather walk next time. Once you add in the misery that is enduring any time on a spirit plane, the $59 extra, per flight for any bag at all, the extra $10 just to attempt to jose a seat that's mildly less painful, and take away even a small gesture of making sure you're hydrated, the cheap flight is not worth it at all. I'll never fly spirit again. They're the worst."

Cons: "Our plane was an hour late in San Jose, then we sat on the runway for 45 minutes in Fort Lauderdale because Jet Blue was "blocking our gate". We were told twice that they were holding the plane (which was the last flight out because we missed our original flight by an hour and a half due to delays) for us. We went through security twice and they still didn't hold the plane. There's about 12 of us that didn't make it and was told that the plane was being held. We were forced to stand in the back of a long line to rebook. In that amount of time ( which was over 2 hours) in line and online booking were being made for our same flight.They WOULDN'T accommodate us with a hotel even after we stood in line for another 2 hours just so they could tell us that if we wanted to fly to Dallas it wouldn't be till Tuesday. By this time shuttles werent even running for the number they gave us for a discount on a hotel. The supervisor, GREG HALEY came over and covered his lanyard id with his hand the whole time he spoke with us. We asked for his name and he just said Greg and tried to walk away. We asked him for his last name and he was hesitant but told us it was Haley. We asked his supervisor's name and he scoffed and told us that he didnt have to give us that information, then walked away. We tried to sleep for 3hours on the freezing airport floor to catch a 8am flight to Houston so I could drive my boyfriend all the way to Dallas to pick up his truck and both of us drive back to Houston. Luckily our connecting flight to Houston was in Orlando for 4 hours so it gave me enough time to jump on a standby flight to Dallas Fort Worth out of Orlando in just under an hour. Worst airline and Supervisor (GREG HALEY-OUT OF FORT LAUDERDALE) I have EVER dealt with in ANY company."

Had to wait an hour or so to speak to agent and missed my flight. Now i have to pay an additional 100 to get another flight, bad customer service as well as the airline."

However, Spirit fixed that with no problem. I didn't like not being able to take my very small luggage on the plane."

There was some technical problem in flight they neither let change the flight or anything and all they did is made wait for 8hrs!!! Can u imagine! never ever gonna travel with this airlines again. Cons: "After being told we were circling our destination due to weather, we were deferred to another airport. This was fine until we were told we'd get sent out on the next plane... Which was also told to the other plane that got deferred (spirit) . Two planes all pushing to get on one. We were then forced to leave the gate with the promise of buses awaiting us. After 4 hours waiting for buses (midnight) I had to spend my own money to rent a car and drive 4.5 hours to my original destination. No offer to be put up in a hotel was offered, nor was an offer to catch another flight. Instead we were told to pay and extra $100 to be placed on standby for the following nights flight to our final destination."

It just feels shady. Also the website is super annoying to navigate and not user friendly. The initial cost was cheap but with all the extra costs it would have been the same amount to take another airline with more leg space and no fee for a carry-on."
