As people seem to be so self-centered anymore, the attendants should have announced that people were not to leave until all passengers with connecting flights had left the plane. Very sad that people can't use common courtesy all by themselves, but as they can't, it should have been enforced by the team on the plane."

Its unbelievable how the plane is still there, with the corridor that takes the passengers to the plane still attached to it, and they can look me straight in he face and tell me they cant reopen the door. While I'm stressfully paying an extra $320 and knowing I'm going to lose 1 whole day of my vacation in Rio because of one little detail that could be solved by opening the door and letting me in, I see the plane there sitting in the same spot for another 15-20 mins without moving. Worst company service ever. Unbelievable. I will never fly with these people again."

Cons: "First of all I bought my ticket through Kayak, but apparently something called the flight network was the issuer of my ticket apparently they are and travel agency in canada , first i needed to change my ticket and they could not do it , then I dis not use my outbound flight because I needed to get to my destinantion one day earlier and yesterday i received an email saying that my return flight was cancelled. they told me that since i did not use my outbound they automatically cancelled my return flight, I ended up loosing 300 USD because of mis information from that travel agency , the people that answered my call were very disrispectfull, this has been the worse experience and ai ended up loosing all my money I had to purchase another return ticket."

Recently I have been flying economy and from the moment checking in to leaving the plane is a terrible experience. I have had on numerous occasions when checking in at the airport that I was lied to regarding the seat I was in. Or there was more than one person with the same seat. Food and the wine is awful. I would not even eat it if I was starving. When flying the overnight/ morning flight they leave the cabin lights on pretty much the entire way, their excuse is that they need to serve dinner, but who serves dinner at 0500 in the morning anyways. My last flight I asked if I could borrow a pen, and they told me they do not give out pens to customers. I will never fly LAN again except for business class. On American Airlines they are a lot more friendlier. Also a shame that they do not have a way of recognising the people that fly with them frequently, I have flown with LAN 10 times in the last 12 months. They have a bad attitude."

They kept us till 2AM at the airport and made us take out all our luggage before taking us to a hotel. Then, there was a Flight leaving the same day at noon, but instead of acommodating us there, they made us wait till 11:59 PM for the next flight. They told us that it was a direct flight as it was initially scheduled from Lima to La Paz, but that was not true as we had to stop in Santa Cruz first. To sum up, there was a 28-hour delay in total. I was supposed to get to La Paz on Jan. 28 and ended up arriving on the 29. No explanations were given, but it is clear that they oversold as all flights were full. Avoid this airline if you can."

One attendant at the gate in particular was forceful and rude when insisting that I pay over $66 in cash at a moment when going to the ATM would mean potentially missing boarding and not arriving back in time to the gate. This process, which I agreed to because two staff members gave me the impression that I could not travel on the flight unless I paid right there instantly in CASH (completely ridiculous), caused me anxiety and took a long time, too long given the urgency of boarding the flight. I had to wait for change for 5 minutes and as a result, I was the last one to board. It should be noted that this process of paying for a maleta in hand at the gate had been preceded by having to pay over $20 in cash to print a boarding pass, which required another ATM withdrawal and fee. This is a weak and predatory business model, which seeks to exploit people’s need to travel and their anxiety. This was carried out in a completely unprofessional and manipulative manner by the staff members. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and exploitative."

Cons: "The flight was delayed due to a mechanical issue which resulted in a missed connecting flight. Luggage was also lost and the United Airlines pawned me off to Air Canada. Air Canada flight was canceled and the second flight was delayed by 4 hours. Luggage has still not been located."

Cons: "Purchase directly from VivaColombia website or not at all. We were forced to pay $40 each in additional fees to board the plane (including a fee to print our boarding passes) all which we weren’t expecting. Boarding was a mess, the crew were nice."

Which overall turns out to be way more expensive that other airlines. Besides their customer service is very bad. they lost my baggage and didn't explain anything for more than 2 hours."

Cons: "They won't print your ticket at the check in counter and you can't use an online boarding pass. You have to print one from home or use an internet cafe at the airport that charges $6 to print a single sheet of paper. They jam your carry on bag into a small box. Boarding took longer than the flight! The seats are incredibly cramped yet they recline all the way back, so you're likely to have someone in your lap for the entire trip. Absolutely horrible. Nothing like other high quality discount airlines such as Air Asia which at least treat you like a human being."

Cons: "They asked me to pay a $15USD tax to enter Colombia. This was never mentioned at any stage of the booking process. I had to withdraw money at an ATM with its associated fees just so I could pay this so called entry tax that neither I or anybody else seems to heard of and, even though I'm an Australian citizen, and we don't need a visa to enter colombia. I flew with VivaColombia twice, the first time I received a boarding pass with I printed out, but for my second flight, I never received a boarding pass email, just an email that said online check-in is not available for this flight and to print attached eticket and take it to the check-in counter at the airport, when I did this they asked for around $10usd to print out my boarding pass."
