Cons: "The connecting flight from Atlanta to NY was rescheduled for an hour and fifteen minutes later, boarding for the delayed flight started late, closed doors were another 20 minutes late, spend another hour or so waiting for confirmations, during which no AC is on because of a malfunction on the plane with the electricity unit. Due to rough air conditions, no in-flight service, or very limited one - and all of those are fine by me, and not the airlines' fault at all. But then, during all these unexpected conditions, I can't even use the in flight entertainment system as i use Bluetooth earphones, and to get earphones I have to buy them for 2$. To earn excellent service, inspite of all the delays, AC malfunction and unpleasantness all you had to do was give those 2$ earphones for free. I have another flight with SkyTeam coming up and I do hope it won't be as unpleasant as it is a much longer flight."

I would have been willing to pay a fee to change my return, but not given the opportunity. Had I booked directly with the airline, they would have had no problem making a change. Buyer beware!!! If you don't book directly with an airline, you may suffer the same fate as me! This was an almost $1,300 dollar learning experience. Do not use third party online booking agents! You do not have the same protections as dealing with the airlines directly."

Cons: "The flight was originally delayed by 30 minutes.. reasonable considering the high winds in both NYC and Toronto. Things started going wrong after we boarded the airplane and then were told the flight crew had not yet arrived from LGA. There is simply no excuse for airlines not keeping sufficient standby crew capacity to minimize these issues. This is a clear case of the airline under staffing at the expense of its customers. By the time the flight crew arrived we were just barely able to make the 8:45 wheels up time for our clearance. The flight to LGA was uneventful until we landed. We were then told our gate was occupied by another plane, a delay that was initially forecast to be a few minutes turned into what seemed to be close to an hour. As a result, I arrived home to my Manhattan apartment at least two hours later than I should have. Flight delays happen, I accept them when they are for reasons that cant be avoided... I look for other airlines (such as united) when they occur for entirely preventable reasons and result in back pain from being trapped in an airline seat for 3+ hours instead of the 1hr 15 or so I should have been stuck in the seat."

It was a Nonstop flight, I will fly China Southern every chance I get because I just want to get from point A to point B. But, I'll be asking more questions about my seat assignment before accepting it."

Cons: "We flew from NYC- JFK to Siem Reap Cambodia and back with the airline. On the way back I was unable to choose seats online prior to boarding. We were placed in Row 63, which is the LAST row on the plane and does not recline. For a 15 hour flight this seating should not be used. It is completely unreasonable to think people will be ok not reclining, and honestly the seats felt more straight up than the normal seats. After discussing it with the crew for half an hour on a full flight they were able to move us to other seats. But were unable to move us to business or first for a discount. End point: these seats should not be used! It was so miserable even thinking we might get stuck with them. And if they do stick people there you should be comped, that was not worth the same fare everyone else payed for coach."

I figured with this layover I could possibly see the city while I waited but a damper was put in those plans. It took me 3 hours to figure out how to acquire the voucher due to not having any assistance from the staff or them not speaking English. The airline basically chose the hotel for me because it would have been another hour wait if I decided to change the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel I met another passenger that had been in the city for 2 days back and forth to the airport because her connecting flight was late to Guangzhou and the airline had no space on the other flights. The wifi connection at the airport was poor and I was unable to use the food voucher at the time I arrived as it could only be used for breakfast. Their is no wifi offered on flight and the food was okay."

I spent an hour and a half trying to get a substitute flight (which left 5 hours earlier, meaning our layover was 7 hours in the airport). They said they wouldn't charge me this time (?!). The customer service was terrible, but the fact that they cancelled a flight without notification and re-booking was preposterous."

Cons: "There was hardly any service from the in-flight crew. I've had shorter flights where the crew comes regularly with water, at least. This crew did the least possible, it was worse than flying in the US on an American airline."

Pros: "I was bumped from economy to business class. This was a unique experience in which I got to travel as a VIP. Economy class with China Southern is better than domestic U.S. carriers, but business class was something else."
Cons: "I did not have a complete ticket until approximately 24-hours before departure and only after I called Airfare.com literally for weeks, and then finally told them I wanted to cancel. Then all legs of the trip were suddenly booked, but seats were not confirmed. I was charged a $450 cancellation fee despite the fact that they did not do their job because I was unable to trust anything they were doing, and subsequently booked my flight direct through Delta. Please keep in mind I purchased the ticket on July 3, 2016 and Airfare.com was unable to provide me a complete ticket until the night of August 16, 2016 with a August 17, 2016 departure date to China! I can honestly say this was the worst travel booking experience I've ever had."

Cons: "They are completely unorganized. You cannot log into their website from the United States to pick your seats because their website is degraded. There is only one phone number and it is in China. Furthermore, expect to wait 30+ minutes for someone to answer the phone. If they do, it will be very static and they don't speak English barely at all. Expect layovers in China (we had two layovers in China on our flight from Tokyo to NYC). There was mass confusion with Chinese immigration workers because they didn't speak English and understand we were simply transiting (for which no visa is required). For the love of God, PRINT YOUR ITINERARY AND BRING IT WITH YOU WHILE YOU TRAVEL. It's the only thing that got us through immigration. We had to recheck our bags and go through immigration and customs several times on our way from Tokyo to NYC. The food is barely edible. And worst of all, you are joined by very pushy and rude Chinese people who spit and hack up their phlegm the entire time. Expect to hear those gross hacking noises from all around the plane. Lucky me, I was seated right next to the leader of the hacking pack. I had to beg a flight attendant to find me a new seat. I would have upgraded to premium economy (as I did for my outbound flight) but they don't let you do it at check-in. Unless you can access the Chinese version of the website, they make you wait until you get on the plane, at which point almost all the premium economy seats are taken (they were in my case)."

When door was about to close i noticed an empty seat and took. The thing that upset me is if there not been an empty seat i would have had to seat in a seat where there was no space and still would have paid the same as a person that is taking part of my seat and the flight attendant didbt even seem to care."

I was moved to a flight 12 hours later, at 540am. Not only was my flight time changed but I was now flying into a completely different airport. I had to stay in a hotel and pay $70 because United doesn't pay for a hotel if the cancellation is due to weather. I am outraged by this sudden change in plans. I will never fly United again and I will spread the word to everyone I know."

And why didn't they bring it before our scheduled departure? -Flight was then delayed another 1.5 hours because the fueler put too much fuel on the plane so we had to wait for them to send out another fueler to take fuel off. -Meanwhile, I was late for work and almost got fired because of this mistake. -They then proceeded to put my luggage on the wrong airplane so once we landed I had to wait another 1-2 hours for my luggage to arrive. -Meanwhile, all gate attendants had terrible attitudes when dealing with customer. I will never fly United again."

The staff were cold, at best, and rude, at worst. The food is one step below prison food. In my opinion, it was inedible. Every Air China flight I took (and I took 4) were the most turbulent I've ever taken, almost as if the pilot was purposefully trying to rattle us. Finally, one of the most annoying things about Air China is not being able to check in via app. Their tech is from 1987, so you have to go to their airport counter and endure long lines. I will NEVER fly with them again."

They say to turn off your cellphone for the whole flight. Airplane mode was not said to be okay and my husband is a rule follower and wouldnt let me use my phone in airplane mode. They did find another flight for us the same day, but at the airport we were quarantined (so to speak) and could not leave to get food or drinks until the decision was made that we could officially get on the proposed flight. The vending machine offered did not take credit card and we could not leave to exchange currency. On flight, the crew was the same, when I was in the bathroom there was a large bang on the door..I assume to let me know to get out as we would be landing soon...which we didn't land for another 30 minutes. Food was gross, same as above with drinks. I could go on and on..needless to say I won't be flying Air China again."

Cons: "Most important AVOID Beijing for transfer. 1.5 Hours on line, open unchanneled line with cut ins and it might be 2 hours if we were not a typical couple who walked past it not believing there could be sucha large line for merely doing and international transfer. This is of course after a long long walk with minimal signage. Good thing I scheduled a 4 hour layover - it became a 2 hour stand over. A horror. If I book that again I my wife may divorce me."

My biggest complaint is that many of the passengers on these flights cough and sneeze without covering their mouths. Speaking with a few natives from China, I learned that this was common in their culture. Please, PLEASE wear a mask if you decide to fly Air China. I got a throat infection and 103 degree fever from our flight to China. My husband got a sinus infection on the flight back. I personally will not take the risk again. The quality of the seats, service and entertainment are all mediocre at best. I'm use to seats a little bigger for international flights. The food also was very basic Asian dishes (rice or noodles and a protein in sauce). The service was just ok."
