I got bumped by Qantas to American Airlines incurring a 6 hr layover at lax. I was not happy

3 hour delay before takeoff & another 30 minutes on the plane before taxi to runway

I found the seats ergonomically uncomfortable forcing the body to seat slightly hunched. For a short flight I worked on adjustments but for a longer flight, it would be difficult.

The seat was not even cleaned. It has full of cookie crums probably from last flight's passenger. Its basic expectation that, seats are clean.

The planes can use an actual cleaning. The armrest and seats do not appear to be cleaned on this one and most other planes.

The flight attendant was very polite and attentive. The food was good.

The flight changed gates multiple times and flight had to be delayed multiple times

I was originally scheduled on AA 1763. When I landed in Miami, I went to the counter for flight AA 2115 to try to move my flight to this one. I was in a first class seat on AA 1763. While they moved to me this flight, I was told that there were no other 1st class seats available and they assigned me into coach. However, when I was getting off the plane I noticed that one of the pilots who was also in line to go jump seat - somehow miraculously got a 1st class seat on this flight. It is actually infuriating that I had a paid 1st class seat yet somehow they would move an AA employee ahead of that. At a bare minimum, they should have compensated me for the fare difference and I really think paying customers should ALWAYs get the premiere seats.

I like that the crew kept us informed but we moved back and forth from gate to gate before the aircraft arrived.

Boarding went fine, the plane was clean, and the crew was very friendly. Seats were a bit cramped, but that seems to be typical on all airlines anymore. Cookies and pretzels were offered as were beverages - the usual. I’d fly American again.
