Cons: "The food was pretty terrible. I'm certain the yogurt we were given was spoiled. The plane also suffered from broken flaps, which meant we went in for a "high speed landing." Not ideal. Shouldn't these things be fixed before an international flight?"

I discovered a person who couldn't read her ticket stub correctly had taken my seat, but instead of insisting that she move, I asked if I could have an emergency exit row seat and was told "Yes," I could. I had to whole row to myself. Those seats, while as comfortable as the rest, made the screen mounted on the back of the seat ahead of me a little hard to see because of the greater than usual distance between the seats. But there certainly was a lot of legroom!"
Cons: "The only thing I didn't like was an aspect not totally in Aeromexico's control - the disembarkation system and the ugly process of Mexican immigration. The plane was left parked on the tarmac somewhere in nowhere'sville, making a trip to the terminal by bus necessary. The bus waited and waited and waited for a wheelchair to arrive from the main terminal to allow two elderly passengers to be removed from the plane. All in all that process took more than a half-hour (making the two-hour connection time more anxiety producing). Then the bus sat outside the terminal for another 10 minutes with no explanation being provided to the passengers worried about making their connection. To top it off, once the bus doors opened the passengers were ushered into a large hall filled with hundreds of passengers all having to get through Mexican immigration - during lunch hour or something, for there were only six officials actually asking questions and several empty inquiry windows that could have been operational. I finally got to an immigration clerk just 15 minutes before my connecting flight was to take off - breezed through the interview and got the passport stamped, and then had to run to dump the luggage onto another conveyor belt leading I hoped to the connecting flight. An Aeromexico staff person asked me "Seattle?" and when I answered "YES!" was ushered to a waiting electric golf cart that whisked me close to the ramp to Gate 57. Without that additional help I'd never had made the flight. Mexico City is NOT a place to try to do a plane connection in less than 3 hours!"

Cons: "We took off nearly 30 minutes late. The seats are pretty small for a tall person. Food was a piece of bread, cheese, apple sauce, and chocolate. That's it. No in flight entertainment at all."

The pilot on the first delayed flight (new airplane) was clueless, his exact words "... our analysis team from midwest needs an hour to figure out whether we can fly or not" This is after we have boarded the flight. Then after about an hour of sitting in the plane, he says "rumor has it that a new plane will be towed in..." What? Why didn't they stop boarding and just get the new plane in. And I don't appreciate the emails saying flight is delayed without giving any reason for it. AA could have certainly done a better job of communicating the issue. Further the flight crew including the pilot were acting like victims. If it were an Asian carrier like Singapore Airlines, the crew would be smiling and providing assitance courteously since they represent the airlines. Not flying them again."

I wold much prefer peanuts to pretzels--an option would be good. The gate of outgoing flight to Bloomington kept changing on phone m messaging shortly before takeoff , about 6 gate changes in 10 minutes. Confusing!"

Cons: "The connecting flight from philadelphia to amsterdam was cancelled by American airlines due to a faulty plane. The system auto-rebooked many passengers on the flight on a 2 connections flight to arrive in Rotterdam for the following day. This was obviously not a suitable alternative. However after hours of waiting at the gate to get a better flight, an american airlines representative was able to rebook a flight to amsterdam via london that was still not until the following evening. I had to stay in philadelphia overnight and had to find a room on my own. The flight the next day went better however I still lost a day and a half of my trip. Unfortunalely for me, the issues did not end there. There was an issue in communication with british airways; american airlines never gave them the new flight details so british airways marked me as a no show for the Rotterdam flight and cancelled my return flight. By luck i called the day before my flight back to the US since i felt something was wrong. British airways representative was able to rebook me on a similar flight for the same day. Will most likely not use this airline again for international flights"

On a transatlantic flight of 10+ hours that is not overnight, it is a bit much to expect customers to fill that much time if one cannot read because the lights aren't working. The flight attendant said it was a very old plane as the reason why, not exactly what one wants to hear. Also, the plane was different than the one I prepaid my seats for, thus the money I spent on bulkhead seats was wasted as we just got two normal seats. Not a good experience."

While standing in line to board the plane (no jetway), there were three groups waiting for three different flights. Crew was uninterested. You must leave the gate, walk down the hall to the bathrooms, and then reenter the gate and be searched again!! This is a problem that can be easily fixed but they need more people speaking up before they will. Wheni spoke with people, Security blamed it on United and United blamed it on the security."

My chicken was not chicken and lastly the airline's hard product could've been better, no IFE is a big no-no."

Cons: "Airline emplyees at the boarding gate seems confused at all times, unaware of any of the circumcstances let alone the difference between a ticket, a boarding pass, a passenger, or even the actual number of seats available on the plane. The airline employees themselves were creating a paniced and hurried situation; nevertheless with both young and small children present, not exactly a comfortable, enjoyable or safe flying experience. I'm quite versed in the world of flying and travel as my father in law has held an upper level executive position with Unites Airlines for nearly 3 decades and have been actively flying as a mode of travel for well over 25 years myself. Even upon our 'delay' the demeanor of the flight crew nor the boarding agents seemed to improve or change, unless however you were in first class or were what appeared to be a fellow employee and/or family member. Furthermore I'm rather curious as to the FAA's interest in their very careless and lacking interest as to whom and passengers were boarding."

United sent me a text saying my connecting flight had departed already, but when I got to the gate a representative brusquely informed me the flight was departing from the other end of the terminal."

I struggled with my check in (I had just had a spine procedure done 48 hrs prior).... and by the time I got help from an agent it was 7:03 am, so... They wouldn't give me a boarding pass for my 8 am flight. Add to that an extremely rude ticket agent who couldn't care less about helping me, and almost seemed to enjoy my predicament, and that sums up my experience with this airline. I will never fly with them again, that's for sure; there's so many other airlines that actually care about their customers, this is not one of them."

As it was, my knees were against the seat in front. For a flight as long as this one (over 5 hours from Anchorage to Denver), it was uncomfortable to say the least. The middle of the plane was nearly empty, because United charges $75 per seat for an upgrade. For the round-trip for two of us, that would have added $300 to our bill. The fact that so few are willing to pay the upgrade fee indicates that the increment is too large."
