Pros: "On its Airbus A 350 Vietnam Airlines recently introduced a new arrangement for the Premium Economy Section. This is the only aircraft used on the SGN-CDG line. Before they had a lay-out of 3-3-3 seats across, strictly identical with the Economy section. It is now 2-4-2, giving some more space to sit comfortably. All seats have now a fixed separation, with the possibility of placing a glass or other small objects on top of it; they look like a smaller version of the old Business Class seats. In the first row the design of the fold-up screens has been improved. Previously some invaded the personal space of the neighbour, as I had experienced last October (my knee still remembers it). Well done. Prem Economy is worth the difference in pricing."
Cons: "In Premium Economy Vietnam Airlines used to serve a lavish breakfast menu. Most of it was sent back as waste, because so many passengers (e.g. French) are accustomed to a minimalist continental breakfast. All this lavishness has disappeared now. While I understand the reason why, I wonder why they also eliminated the small portion of jam or jelly. Only butter is available to spread (spread?) on the tiny bun. It would be a nice touch to have also some jelly. Also during the night shift they used to offer some nice sandwiches to sleepless passengers. Now only pots of instant noodles are offered on demand. These pots are not well adapted for European passengers."

Also, the signs (including China Southern Air signs) in the airport are not extremely helpful for telling you where to go after the customs when you land and before picking up your new ticket and going to the customs you will need to go through to depart. Having some guidance from someone after you depart the plane or after entry customs would have been really nice."

It all worked out at the end, so why they couldn't have just given folks those seats from the get-go is a mystery - maybe it's a common game they play?"

As good as no entertainment system as it was a series of monitors set to one movie which I didn't want to see but that would have been ok as I had my MP3 player with earphones but the stewardess came and told me to "power off the device". The guy next to me was using his and we were clearly in the middle of the flight with no mistake on my part. I asked her to repeat what she was saying and she said exactly the same thing with no explanation. It was in the middle of the flight and not during a time where electronics needed to be off. I did not have the volume on my earphones at a level that anyone could hear. I feel she was singling me out to just mess with me although I was quiet and well behaved the entire trip."

On one flight they wheeled my wife to the plane in a wheelchair then expected her to climb 3 flights of stairs to board the plane."

No such thing exists - the lounge is just free seating in the international terminal without any further services. on the airplane, many games do not work with the controls provided (that is not an issue with the new touch screen systems)."

They said we needed to talk to only the Kenya Airways representatives in Addis where we left from. We did... and they didn't say anything. After that they refused to help us in Nairobi. There were all these secret ways of getting help that they said we didn't qualify for. Supervisors and managers were not available unless I left their desk and went to departures. They said I would have to go back through immigration.. but thankfully, right before I did, someone came and spoke to me. From our several interactions, we received no apologies, but felt that the theme was that everything was my fault.. not the best feeling as a customer. Only my one chat with the supervisor was very nice. She was very patient, sat down with me and helped direct my concerns. Especially with a 13 hour delay. Nairobi seemed great, but our interactions with the staff really took away from our experience. And we missed our vacation in the end.."

Then my partner got sick and they refused to taxi us to hotel for the night but take a bus that leaves every three hours. Her sickness got worse and there was a Kenyan airlines doctor who evaluated her at the airport after waiting 40 minutes laying at check in with her crying due to pain. We had a medical release from the doctor saying she needed extra space to lay down but the check in manager refused to make room for her saying the flight is full and she would not upgrade her to accommodate the medical release because we had an economy ticket. My partner looked so bad that the flight crew considered kicking us off but eventually made the space for her to lay down and were helpful on the flight. This is this disgraceful and the worst experience I’ve had with any company."

The airlines was not willing to do anything about my other flight I missed and me spending overnight in Bangkok."

Cons: "The plane was old. Some seats didn't recline. My husband's sound system didn't work. The audio selection was minimal. The bathroom started out filthy with urine everywhere, and stayed that way. These things are inconvenient on a 10 hour flight!"

Pros: "My travel itinerary was one with long layover times. Thank you Kenya, Airways for allowing the day use of your lounge areas for a fee. Got some sleep, a wonderful Turkey Lunch on Christmas Day, before my connecting flight to Guangzhou. Smooth Short field landing and take off in the 787-8. No rattling sounds during landing and take off so the Plane must have also been new. Kudos!!"
Cons: "Suffered with the unattended toilets. Food for thought, could the toliets on flights be designated according to gender? toilet seat was always covered in sprayed urine( which I wiped clean every time before sitting and using the toilets, made several trips during the 9 hour flight. Hand Soap run out at some point."

Cons: "I had 3 hours in Johannesburg before catching a shuttle bus, so being an hour late wasn't a big problem. After rushing from Entebbe flight which was an hour late leaving and arriving, I got to the gate to be informed that this NBO to JNB flight was an hour late in departing. Pilot said it was due to "technical difficulties". My ticket had 4 legs : Nov 28 due to leave JNB at 1:20 finally left at 8:30 due to NBO runway closed from plane belly landing - the pilot was very apologetic - LATE. Dec 5 NBO to Entebbe was an hour late due to "passenger problem and luggage taken off" - LATE. Dec 10 Entebbe to NBO left an hour late due to "plane arriving late" - LATE. Dec 10 NBO to Johannesburg was an hour late due to "technical difficulties" - LATE. All 4 flights were at least an hour late leaving and arriving yet the pilots all said thanks for flying Kenya Airways - the Pride of Africa. This is what Africa should be proud of ?!? and Kenya Airways is proud of ?!? Passengers I talked to all were negative in their comments about Kenya Airways. All said there is ALWAYS something of a problem on a Kenya Airways flight. Lady on NBO to EBB flight next to me as we boarded plane and I said everything has gone smoothly so far, replied - the flight isn't over yet - and then we sat in the plane for an hour while they "removed passengers luggage". A man in NBO departure area as we waited to board JNB late flight said, the procedures and organisation are terrible with problems most of the time, which was why he was using up his reward miles because he didn't want to fly Kenya Airways again. This is the culture of this airline which is allowed to continue with seemingly no regard for the paying customers. If the powers that be such as the FAA, imposed a $100 credit to each passenger for late leaving or arriving, I would have received $400 back on a ticket that cost $750. Maybe the airlines would do something practical to remedy their problems and care for the paying customers rather than just saying "we are sorry for any inconvenience "."
Pros: "The pilots are very friendly and regularly updates passengers o issues"
Cons: "The crew on this route are very rude. My experience with them for the last 2yrs is just but a nightmare. They shout at passengers when requested for simple things like drinks, blankets and sometimes even ignore calls."

Cons: "I was wrongly suspected of something in the security check at Kigali Int'l Airport and further screening stole my time to the point that I missed my flight! When I went to a Kenya Airway agent for assistance, I was advised to buy a new air ticket or pay a fee to have my flight changed, which I did and my flight was scheduled for the following day. The following day, the flight was delayed almost for two hours in Kigali and then 1.5 hours in Nairobi. Don't fly Kenya Airway! Their customer care service are terrible, their disability services very poor. Avoid this airline , please!"

Cons: "I was told to get my boarding pass at the counter, and when I did so, I was consistently told how wrong I was. They moved gates, and didn't update the screen or airport-wide monitors. A staff member didn't come get the 30+ passengers until 15 minutes before. One of my two bags didn't make it to the airport. After working with a very unfriendly airport worker, I was told it would be delivered to my hotel by 8 am. The receptionist told me tha they left a message, saying I could pick it up at the airport."
