I couldn't move around enough and I ended up with a trigger point problem which immobilized me for 3 days and kept me from sleeping at night. It was very disappointing, since this was a family visit trip."

Even the pilots greeted the passengers as they exited. All the other airlines just want my money, they want to cram me into smaller and smaller spaces and want me to sit there and shut up so they don't have to interact with me. I will fly Delta every chance I get, even if I have to pay more money."

More importantly, the fact that I checked-in with seat 14 and ended-up, seemingly randomly, in seat 28 (the back of the plane) when I had SPECIFICALLY selected a seat in the FRONT section of the plane. That was particularly annoying, especially since the optics of the situation were such that I used miles to purchase the flight and got "screwed-over" with respect to my seat selection as if my ticket held less weight than other passengers..."

Ontop of that the crew which is normally excellent, was feisty and rude and wanted nothing to do with their job"

Cons: "I purchased a flight two weeks ago to depart at 11am from lax I checked in at 10:30 where they told me It was too late for me to check in they gave me another flight departing at 4pm (free of charge) weird right? Very disappointed since I always fly and check in 30 minutes before. I didn’t have any luggage with me either I do not think it’s fair and I will not be flying American Airlines/Alaskan airlines ever again."

When you check in they take your cell phone "in case " well no call no txt no nothing. It was a joke the level of service No apologies or anything just a group of any tired patrons getting the worst customer experience. I'll never EVER book a flight that has anything to do with American Airlines or its partners"

Cons: "Fight was operated by American. Alaska forced to wait in line and see assistance, then inform that because the flight is operated by American, they won't be able to check me in. Had to walk to a different terminal of LAX wait in 2 more lines and by the time they were able to assist it was too late to check in. Missed the flight, have to rebook a 3 hour later departure, move the meeting and take a flight back 4 hours later that has a layover and adds about 2.5 hours more on the return leg. Not to mention having to pay for the new seat."

Being in the Customer Sevice industry I know this is unacceptable, I would never replace a damaged item with one that was not like the original or ask a customer to do so. I will not fly American Airlines any longer."
Pros: "Again, it seemed to me there was more legroom in first class than on similar Delta flights - meaning it was more comfortable. Also, there was a delay of a couple of hours leaving Dallas due to a problem with the plane's radio, and the American employees handled it very well, keeping the passengers informed and smoothly transferring everyone to a substitute plane."

Pros: "Flying on American Airlines like many other airlines is a frustrating experience. The added charges for baggage and seat choice are insulting when you are used to flying on southwest. It should all be covered when buying a flight. The people lining up at the door to get on the plane spill out in to the hallways and block traffic trying to get by. Southwest airlines has a number system to get on the plane and therefor avoids the crowding the entrance to get on before all the overhead space is taken. I really think american could learn a lot from Southwest airlines. I will when possible avoid this airline if there is a flight with southwest."

They didn’t even ensure that everyone wore seatbelts on landing - woman next to me was stretched out hugging her companion while landing wilth unbuckled seatbelt. I know I gave her a questioning look because this did not answer my original question. She repeated her statement again this time pointing. I would have preferred that she tell me that the flight had finished boarding but customer service could help me get on another flight. I feel that would have been more professional. My new flight was also an hour late"

The crew onboard was extremely rude as well, telling me I could not have two cups of Coke when I asked for a second (I was thirsty, and we were waiting for 3 hours to board the flight). Also, the flight attendant kept knocking on the bathroom door while I was in there, and once I got out, told me I was limited to 5 minutes during flight (which I have never been told, and have been flying for years). Needless to say, I probably will never be flying United Airlines again."

The reschedule somehow caused me to lose my window seat even though I was on the same exact flight. This overbooked flight ended up being full of all kinds of grumpy and upset passengers (rightfully so). Uncomfortable seats just made it that much worse. Poor job overall"
Cons: "Purchased tickets 4 months before this flight for a departure time of 6:05pm. Tried to check in and check baggage at 9:30am but was turned away saying I could only check in 3 hrs prior to my flight. Came back at 3:00pm to check-in and they could not find my information. An hour later they find out that they cancelled the flight and moved my departure time to 8:25am for that day. They say they emailed 3 times in May but I never got it (I'm a bit crazy about my email staying clean) so they say it might have went in to my spam folder due to they types of emails they send to customers. They only kept repeating that they notified me so there is nothing they could do. I ended up going to Air Canada to get a flight from PHX to RNO the next day. No apology, no help, no hotel for the night...Terrible experience by United. They gave me a customer relations group contact information to follow up with for complaint but since they sent me the 3 emails in May about the change, they have no liability to fix the situation."
Pros: "Smooth. No problems. Happy we didn't have to get suitcases through customs because you could handle in Canada. Happy gate was near where we got off."
Cons: "The flight was overbooked and asked for several volunteers to take later flights for travel credit. Ended up forcing those unlucky souls in the last boarding group off flight with no offer of credit or accommodation. Waited in customer service line for hours, literally longer than it would have taken to take off and arrive at my scheduled destination. United representatives could not find a flight that guaranteed a seat (not on a long standby list) that was even in the same 12 hour period. I spoke with a United supervisor who showed zero empathy or concern with the situation. In the end I arranged for other travel accommodations to drive to my family reunion destination. No refund was issued or offered. I was informed I would have to call United customer service after the date of my previously scheduled return flight to explain my situation. I will personally never fly United again and would recommend the same to anyone. Although for the record, I did receive a single ten dollar airport food voucher for my inconvenience. Inexcusable."

Cons: "Took 30 hours to get to our destination on a trip with two kids. Out of the dozen people who we dealt with, only two were somewhat competent. It was the first time in my life I felt unsafe with a major carrier. Consistent problems on flights with mechanical issues and consistently unable to fix them. Then they offered a whopping $125 credit after we paid $4,000 for tickets only to spend two nights on airplanes and on a plane. It was so terrible, I still can't believe it. Time will not ease our frustration and disbelief. Fly with them at your peril."
