Pros: "The crew was great and I really appreciate how they accommodated a family with 4 young children"

Cons: "I got assigned seats but when we got our boarding passes we were seated several rows apart, not in the seats I got when tickets were purchased months earlier. So we got reassigned to near back of plane, not at window seats, near several families with small loud children!! Not pleasant!"

Cons: "DO NOT FLY AVIANCA IF YOU HAVE ANYWHERE YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO GO! The flight was delayed by 7 hours. We were told different stories Time and Time again by the ground crew. Either the plane was on the way or it was turning back, or it had landed or was perpetually 20 mins from landing. At one point, they did slip and admit that they actually had no way of actually tracking the plane, so everything they told us had been wild guesses about what had actually been happening! When some passengers asked to speak with a manager, we were told that the manager was not accepting calls at that time. After hours and hour and hours of delays and lies, they finally found a plane, but we still had to wait an hour for a crew as the original crew was now over their time limit. Once we were airborne, the flight was smooth and the newly cobbled together crew was nice. Zero mention or promise of reparations for the massive delay. AGAIN, DO NOT FLY AVIANCA IF YOU HAVE ANYWHERE YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO GO!"

Cons: "I had an instant panic attack when our flight was delayed because a box cutter was found under a seat on the flight that just arrived. I get honesty, but I was seriously reconsidering getting on the plane, because what if they missed something? I was working out in my head what would happen to our pets if we died on this flight, because we don't have a will yet."

Cons: "Left 3.5 hours late. Promised a connection the following morning and a hotel. Arrived at SFO only to be told that they would not pay for the hotel (or make arrangements) as the delay was weather related (since when is trying to leave BEFORE a typhoon hits and being LATE a weather related issue). They gave me the option of after a 13 hour flight at 11:30pm walking over to find AA staff in another terminal to argue for payment. I was too tired. After 1 million miles on AA I will avoid them now."

Pros: "Almost 20 hours before regular flight time, received numerous texts from airline that flight will be delayed. Some were delays if 4,5 hours then changed to almost 8 hrs then back to 6 hours . Needless to say connection flight is messed up and no way of knowing what that might be until arriving at airport. Then more confusion, too almost an hour to get checked in. With connecting flight of 1.5 hours which is scary for international flight that requires going through custom then recheck luggage and TSA line again. The saving grace is captain speed up place on first leg of international flight so arrived airport 1 hour early, thus allowing enough time to connect."

Cons: "At Heathrow -- The passengers were sent thru three security checks to get into the boarding lounge...after the TSA standard check. There were no bathrooms, no water and not enough seats for everyone. It was hot, loud and there was no exit once you entered. This is one of the worst pre-boarding situations I have ever had, ever. The security people were unnecessarily slow and difficult."

Cons: "Budget Rental, OMG 55 min wait in the parking lot before some would check myself and several other renters. NEVER use budget again. Its not that they were understaffed. I saw Budget employees standing around doing nothing. On a side note the inside of the car was coated with a white cleaning solution, windows were dirty, and windshield fluid was empty."

Pros: "Help that I received from check in through security to the gate was awesome. The person who checked me in offered me a wheelchair as it was a pretty long distance to the gate. I don't think that I would have made it all the way without her for thought and help! Same goes after the flight when we landed in Philadelphia. From the plane to gather my luggage and then to the place where my ride could pick me up. Awesome service. The stewards were also very helpful to keep me supplied with ice for my dogs. They get very stressed and tend to overheat. Thanks to a couple of the staff, especially, my dogs stayed very comfortable as well. Other then the fact that they got too warm a couple of times. Will definitely keep American in mind for another flight."
Cons: "I have not got a background in flying. I read the literature in the seat in front of me but I would like to have known sooner that I could turn a knob to help get cool air on my dogs. They were getting very warm and I spent a great deal of time fanning them when I could have just let the air do it's job."

No one came after us to inform us we had left a bag. We had over $100 worth of souvenirs in it that are now just gone. Flight was delayed leaving and landing which meant we missed our connecting flight. Food was ok but nothing special. They only offer you snacks once."

Cons: "The flight attendants were pretty much what I've come to expect on U.S. airlines--overweight, older, and sloppy in appearance. One of them looked like she had rolled out of bed ten minutes before arriving at the gate. It was the complete antithesis to the flight attendants on Hong Kong Airlines. Ah, for the good old days of air travel. Before the plane ever took off it was announced the the entertainment system on the seat back ahead of those in comfort seats was not working and wouldn't be for the duration of the flight. Having paid an additional $239 for the comfort seat in the hopes of making a 16-hour flight go by a bit faster, this was unconscionable. The food was far inferior to Hong Kong Airlines. In short, it was the trip from hell."

Cons: "One nice flight attendant out of the five I interacted with. I'm flying United less and less because the service just sucks."

Cons: "United Express flies out of Terminal A at Newark (EWR) and routinely they do not have Precheck lanes open. Despite flying on the Saturday after Thanksgiving they only had one mixed security line open. When I asked TSA they said they simply weren't staffed to have a Precheck line open. Everyone was working diligently but this happens every time we fly United out of Newark. Traveling with 2 small children it is incredibly frustrating to have to go through the full security line, take off our shoes, and take all of our electronics out of our bags."

Cons: "Poorly marked gate. Late boarding time. Sat on shuttle for 20 minutes before they took us to the plane. Then we sat on the plane with the heat blasting and no air available. Flight was delayed due to maintenance."

Cons: "We had a 15 hours flight and a one small meal 2 hours into the flight and a light snack sandwich after 10 hours."

Pros: "A FUN HAPPY TIME AS THE CHAPS WHO SAT EITHER SIDE OF ME WERE CHATTY AND HUMOROUS - THEY WERE HAPPY THAT COLUMBUS DAY WAS TO BE CELEBRATED THIS PAST MONDAY AND WHEN I TOLD THEM I WAS TO CELEBRATE CANADIAN THANKSGIVING WITH MY SON AND HIS AMERICAN WIFE AND THEIR 2 CHILDREN - WELL LET'S JUST SAY THE 3 HOURS OF THE FLIGHT FLEW BY. SMILE"

Cons: "Boarding could be done by letting people with window seats being seated first, then the middle seats next and finally aisle seats last! That way people would not have to get up from their seats after they have been sitting down to get back up to allow the people in the inner seat to get to their seats a pond boarding the plane after the people in the aisle seat are already sitting!"

Seated in last row and asked to close bathroom door of it opened during takeoff. Seated next to very large passenger who wanted to share my seat. Sat on tarmac for 30 minutes waiting to take off. For this, I paid $650."

Cons: "Although the flight was scheduled to depart quite early, it was delayed twice. Weather was good, but incoming flight was late. Then there was no cabin attendant-40 minute delay. Few amenities in Terminal A of JFK."

Cons: "The gate agent for United at Newark was very rude and dismissive. Would not answer any of my questions or anyone who attempted after me. His attitude was very poor and seemed to not care about his job. Plane was late arriving in Portland Maine."

Cons: "The flight was fine, but my flight was cancelled on the 29th and the agent who helped rebook my flight was abrupt, then I get to the airport on the 30th and the flight is delayed another 2 hours. Of course it was all "weather" related, so no help from the airlines. I'm not a satisfied customer. I would have flown Delta if it was possible."

Cons: "United delayed the flight over for 2 hours with over 24 hours of flight time. The reason was one of the crew memeber called in sick. When we showed the flight, we were told the flight has to make another stop in San Francisco thus delaying the flight for amther 3 hours. If they know hat they are missing a crew member over 24 hours and cannot find a replacement, this is a serious problem with United. They must be running a very tight ship."

Cons: "The pilot speeding up and then putting on the brakes time after time on flight from Norfolk 10:30 am to Dulles today. Very rough flight and it was beautiful smooth air today. I'm a private pilot and could not figure out what was going on,"

Pros: "Food was better than ever and crew was very good. Usually mid flight meal which is wonton soup is luke warm. For the first time it was hot and got hot chili delivered separately. It was actually good. Breakfast also better than usual."

Cons: "Newark Airport. The terminal was probably 60 degrees. Navigation signs were the least helpful of any airport I've flown out of or into."

Cons: "We were stranded in Newark with little to no air conditioning in 90 degree heat. Our flight was delayed 9 HOURS. I lost an entire day of my family's vacation because of United Airlines and their massive blunder. They said it was because there was no air conditioning, but at the same time they said their crew clocked out and we had to wait for new personnel to man the plane. I find it hard to believe that this couldn't be foreseen and avoided. By the time we finally got our crew, we then had to await for a storm to pass, and then 40 other planes had to take off first. All United offered in apology were $10 vouchers that expire in two days, and a free drink on the plane."

Cons: "Please read above--I was standing at the gate waiting to board when the gate rep told me and another passenger there was only one seat left--on a flight I was confirmed on! The other passenger said he had a family obligation and the rep handed him the last ticket before I could get a word out. I felt so disrespected and like my business and money meant nothing to United. Then began my saga to get to Portland. Unbelievable."

Cons: "Upon arrival the flight attendant left me stranded on the tarmack without a wheelchair for 20 minutes. I have serious balance issues and was terrified. My connection was very tight and I barely made my plane to Portland. The pilot finally saw the problem and got the assistance I needed. This was the most frightening wheelchair experience I have even had."

Pros: "I wish I would have caught her name but the staff member at the boarding gate was fabulous! She is someone I would want representing my company."

Cons: "I arrived at my final destination and walked to baggage claim. I was just standing there waiting when a young girl walked by me in a uniform and said rudely and almost annoyed, "do you have a question". I replied that I was waiting on my bag. She then said these are it and I said so my bag has been lost? Without any empathy AT ALL she again, rudely and now most definitely annoyed said Do you have your bag tag? I said yes and she proceeded to walk away to a corner office. I assumed I was to follow. She took my tag, no communication at all from her, I said what are you doing and she replied I have to file a claim. She then proceeded to tell me that Newark Airport was horrible and never travel through there if I know what's good for me. This was extremely unprofessional. I was simply wanting some guidance from her on what to expect etc. I had to ask her what my next steps were. She handed me a flyer and said if I had any questions to call baggage information listed on the pamphlet. I left. The next day at about 1 p.m. I called the number and the update said my bag had left the airport and was out for delivery. Keep in mind that I had to work the next day after the airline losing my bag and had to purchase shower items etc due to them being in my lost bag. Portland jetport and my home address is less than 40 minutes apart, yet my bag did not arrive at my home until 8:30 p.m. and I'm also not confident it would have ever arrived because I called around 7 p.m. and spoke with someone who called the delivery service to ask their ETA. I paid $25 to check my bag and yet it was lost. What did I pay for?! If I can help it, I will NEVER fly United again and I'll be certain to tell everyone I know about my experience with this airline."

Cons: "Pricey ticket to a what was offered. I was actually really disappointed by what United had to offer on the flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong and back. An incredibly old and outdated aircraft for a 15 hour flight it's unacceptable for the price that was charged for the ticket. On my way back from Hong Kong my seat located at 54A had the headphone connector not working, leaving me with no audio whatsoever other than "I'm sorry" by the flight attendent. Really?? Anyways, had really bad and disappointing experience with United on these treat. Would NOT recommend to anybody. Time to update your equipment UNITED or look for competition."
