Then I realized AA had put a Boeing 757 on flight AA55 instead of the usual 767 and it doesn't have enough fuel for the westbound flight against prevailing headwinds. When I got home AA had sent me 2 emails - 1 advising me of a delay on my AA55 flight MAN-YQX (Gander), despite the fact that the schedule calls for a flight MAN-ORD. The 2nd rebooking me on a later AA flight from ORD-SGF. AA are guilty of deception here and their sleight of hand caused me 4 hours delay arriving at SGF and a night in a hotel instead of driving home."

Cons: "the drink service came through pretty late in the flight. i asked for hot tea. a few minutes later i was provided with extremely hot tea. about 10 minutes later it was a temperature i could tolerate drinking. about 1/3 through the drink i was required to throw away my drink because we were preparing for landing. i understand that, fine. bad timing. it’s just a drink. what was unsatisfactory is that the attendant rudely commented “you have to give us your drink. it’s not that long of a flight.” the comment made me feel like i had done something wrong even though i had just been drinking my tea as soon as it was at a drinkable temperature. i was not impressed with the attendant. also, there weren’t any biscotti cookies."

Cons: "American Airlines seemed to be out of sorts on both days of the trip. My connecting flight seat was not assigned until I got to my connecting airport. On the way back, we sat in the plane for over half an hour with no explanation. We then had to de-plane due to engine issues. The attendants at the counter were not that efficient with rescheduling itineraries, as they were often taking breaks, engaging in chit-chat with other workers, and answering personal phone calls during the process. On the connecting flight back, the ground crew "was not ready" for the plane and advised us to "hang out". This made for very little time in finding my connecting flight home (especially because the assigned gate was not even listed in the airport terminal). Not overly dramatic. Just a lot of small things that culminated in a very frustrating travel day. I will likely be avoiding American Airlines in the future."

Instead we waited for the sun to thaw the airplane and further waited for a fuel truck afterwards. Only the first three rows have reclining seats that you pay extra for. I only recommend frontier for SHORT commutes, as the seats really are that uncomfortable with very little padding. NEVER AGAIN!"

They close their gate 40 minutes before the plane leaves; you will be stranded if you are late (My son missed his flight in the past when we arrived 50 minutes before the plane left). They are supposed to be a low-cost airline, but, after all of the mark-ups, it's about the same. They have the worst on-time performance of any domestic airline. Do not fall for it.
