Another great Alamo rental in Norfolk
Pros: They never fail to be the fastest, lowest priced.. And often if I can't add my discount to my rental, they simply offer to upgrade me... And I'd rather have that, as I rent full size anyways.
And I have seen the rental car return guy there at the airport.. He always does a great job. Next time I'm going to get his name, as he is way to professional and happy and thorough Before the sun comes up! Fast service, great cars.. Low price!!!

Cons: Transmission seemed sluggish on this small Ford with 28K miles. Fuel mileage was good and the car was clean and nice.
Rental agent was a bit pushy on the extra insurance.
Return agent was quick and nice.
Pros: The woman at the counter could not have been more helpful or friendly!
Cons: No complaints.

Pros: Booked through Kayak and got a better deal. Budget/Avis staff at the Norfolk airport were great. Didn't wait long. Easy check in process. Drop off was super early, 5:30 am. Attendant was great and a short walk to the terminal.

Cons: The lady at the counter comfirmed I was dropping off the rental car at Richmond airport. When I plugged in the address to drop the car off on the return date, it was taking me to downtown Richmond. I tried to call customer service and took over an hour to get them to waive the $350 change fee despite being told i was going to RIC originally.
Pros: The price was excellent for the vehicle I chose.

Liked the Versa
Pros: The agents at both pickup and dropoff were good.
Thought I had reserved a compact, I would rate the Versa as a sub but it ran just fine, drove it over 300 miles the first day, all good. Very predictable handling, for sure easy to park, etc.
Cons: Long wait at pickup, one customer blocked one of the two agents for an extended period. There were some tape marks on the car (probably to keep the doors closed in shipping) but it was a long walk back into the terminal and might have to wait online again

Cons: You guys lied about charges and overcharged me for not being old enough even though I am old enough to rent a car from you guys. You wouldn't even give me my entire refund. I'm never renting from you guys again. Did I mention you guys suck? If not, you do!!!

Pros: The pick up and drop off were quick. I really liked the in car gps system. The car rental is connected to the airport. You do not have to take a shuttle to/from the rental area.
Cons: The car was dirty on the front interior passenger side when I received it. Like something had been spilled on the window and door. It was gross. You have to mark any blemishes on the vehicle without a rep present. I took pics in the event there was a problem. The car drove a little rough.

easy and efficient
Pros: Easy, hassle free to pick up - my flight was late and I was a bit frustrated when I picked the car up. Hertz folks were great. Thanks! Easy drop off as well.
Cons: No cars available when we checked in and they didn't know when the car would be available, so we were stranded in the airport while we waited at least an hour. We returned the car full an they still charged us for gas. We still have to call and get them to remove that charge.

Pros: The staff was professional and the agency opened earlier than others.
Cons: The class of car reserved was not available and the practice appears to be a downgrade and the hope the consumer is unaware. Little league for an airport location and I'd actively avoid this location provided other options were available. The upgrade I ended up paying extra for was a smoke smelling vehicle with 60k miles but not bad on gas.

Never with Dollar ever again
Pros: Quick to get the car and no one was in line
Cons: Car was very dirty. Crumbs everywhere and stained seats. I called the customer service rep to let them know I was running 2 hours later he said its 2.50 each hour your late to return which I was fine with. I get my bill this morning they charged me for a full extra day and added fees totaling to $67 more than what I was supposed to pay.
Never with Dollar again.

Pros: Quick return the attendant was very helpful and courteous.
Cons: Smell of car could have been better. Maybe windows were let down and it rained. The wait line excited 30 minutes. The intermediate or similar really meant compact.

Overcharged and unhelpful
Cons: We were overcharged for an additional driver. When I reached out to them to point it out, it took forever for them to get back to me and they wouldn't refund my money. They also couldn't even correctly identify where I rented the car. It just goes to show how sloppy they are and how little they care about their customers. They made a mistake and I'm out almost $100 for it and they won't do anything about it. It might be that their system is so bad that they can't even keep track of their mistakes to be able to fix them. But, to sum up: terrible customer service, overcharged by a lot, will never rent from them again.

Cons: Needed and selected good sized car for 4 people w luggage.
Norfolk VA presented smaller car not meeting the class size. I asked for one meeting the class size. They re-wrote entire reservation. Kayak estimate for rental period was ballpark correct at approx. $141. But Payless layered on $100. in extras, NOT including declined insurance options, self-paid tolls, or declined prepay gas options. Net bill was about $87.00 dollars over online kayak estimate, over 60% higher. This was a disappointing experience, having done this online to get a reasonably good expectation of cost.

Pros: I like the price, I like the car, it was very comfortable. When I returned the car the staff was very helpful and patient.
Cons: I didn't like when I picked up the car initially. The clerk was not personable. she just told me to initial certain places without explaining what I was initialling , it added extra fees to the bill I had already reserved it online and declined the things she had me initialling. I was charged two holding fees of $ 200 totaling $400 which caused a return check and a fee charged to my account of $29. I was very disappointed with the service when I pick the car up the staff was not concerned when I called her back to let her know what had happened. Had an OH WELL, attitude.

Lacking customer service
Pros: The car was clean and handled well.
Cons: There was no one at the thrifty counter when I walked up, but a sign told me to go to another counter. I reserved a "special" - which was a compact or larger - hoping I would have some choice. The guy at the counter didn't talk to me at all and basically just flung keys to me. When I went to actually get the car, no one was there. The car showed some pretty bad scratches but there was no one to show or tell, so I had to document them on my phone (just in case). I guess the car was a compact, but it was so small I would have said it was an economy.

The rudest customer service at pick up
Pros: The drop off customer service was great!
The car rental rate was great for a quick weekend rental.
Cons: The lady that I picked up from should be fired and find a job in something that does not interact with people. I am a business owner and would be ashamed to have her be the face of my company. I tend to pay more attention than my fiance, but when he complained about her attitude to me...I know it was terrible. No smile, no hello, short rude, no eye contact. Not even a thank you.
The cars start and go was very jerky, like the transmission was slipping.
Cons: It took over an hour to pick up the vehicle. The class of cars I chose showed a newer Kia and I got a much older Mitsubishi something or other. And the alignment was off.

My first time using Enterprise
Pros: The people who work there are friendly. They worked with me getting the information that I didn't bring with me. The option of having someone drop you off is great. I rented a Chrysler 200 at a good price.
Cons: The windshield was dirty on the inside. It looked like someone had smoked a couple packs of cigarette in there.
Pros: Check in speed was fast. It was easy to get to and the check in attendant was very knowledgeable about the car policies.
