The entire American staff were the most disorganized and careless flight personnel I have ever seen. Them they put me on a standby flight, where I was number eight and five minutes later was number eighteen, so I missed that, too. My wife is one of the top Public Relations people in Los Angeles and we both have tweeted and posted on social media extensively about this horrendous experience. I require a full refund from American Airlines for my airfare, and if I don't receive it from you will take you to court. --Eric Red"

I was carrying a back pack and a small purse strapped across my shoulder which was maybe 4"x6". He shouted at me after I had handed in my ticket and started down the gangway that my purse needed to be in my backpack. I have never heard of such a thing in all my years of travel. I complied and started to put my purse into my backpack when he shouted at me "Ms. Derbyshire get back here now! You cannot be past the counter!" Your employee was rude, hostile and made me very upset as well as the other passengers waiting to board. Later other passengers who witnessed the event told me how upset they were. Sadly this is not the first time I have had issues with United. Clearly this type of behavior is in your culture. There is no need to shout at anyone."

The representative informed me that I would have to be rebooked onto a later connection because the delay would cause my to miss my original connecting flight, and when I told her that I needed an earlier time to avoid missing a meeting, she just said "I have nothing earlier." She was barely even apologetic. Then she was unable to print my boarding pass for my connection. I had a 2 hour and 45 minute layover in Houston whereas in my original flight it was 1 hour."

My 3-hour flight turned into a +5.5 HR endeavor. When you are on 2 broken planes in a row with the same airline you start to to wonder about how well they are maintaining their equipment. I feel like I deserve more than a "sorry" for the use of my extra time, but no credit or flight certificate was forthcoming."

I replied saying "sorry I didn't hear it" and again the flight attnd answered "look on your UA app". I don't usually fly UA so I didn't have it. Overall she was short, snarky and rude with ever reasonable question asked. No one was rude to her but her attitude was shocking. I travel quite often and have never seen an antd speak or act this way to passengers. I understand things get stressful, but I def won't be flying UA again if this is the way they allow flight attnds to speak to customers. She way beyond rude and lazy and I hope the girl she was training doesn't pick up those traits either."

Cons: "My trip was supposed to be Newark to Jacksonville on Sunday, Jan 31 and stay until Saturday, Feb 6. I booked my trip in September. When I got the the airport (2 hours before my flight) I went to the kiosk to print my ticket, after entering my confirmation code and last name the computer informed me that I require assistance so I flagged down one of the people working the counter, where I was promptly informed that I do not have a seat on the plane. The plane was overbooked. My number one question was how is it possible that I am the one getting bumped if I booked my flight almost 5 months ago?!?! The person then informed me that I can either go to the gate and hope someone doesn't show up and get a seat on that plane, or she can book me on a flight to Tampa then a puddle jumper to Jacksonville. I decided to take the Tampa option (without being informed that it was going to change my simple two hour flight into a 9 hour ordeal). I headed to my gate and took a look at my tickets only to find out that I have a 3 hour layover in Tampa... Wtf am I supposed to do in Tampa for three hours?!? Anywho, instead of getting to Jacksonville at 12, I got there at 6:30 losing an entire day. Now for the trip home. I'll start with I did get home in the appropriate amount of time, on my original booked flight. However, I was forced to check my bag. And not like go to the carousel when you de-board check your bag( which I would prefer)... Get off the plane and wait in the vestibule with everyone else who had to check their bags for your luggage to be retrieved from the plane and brought up to the vestibule.. It became a mosh pit of ooh! That's my bag! ( picture a bunch of random adults playing mother may I with the airport staff as the mother). Then back to the actual flight, the attendant didn't start coming around asking if we wanted drinks or snacks until more than half way through the flight meaning you had about 10 minutes to enjoy whatever you ordered until the pilot asked you to raise the tables. Then also I couldn't understand a single thing that was said over the loudspeaker ( it sounded like they recycled the speakers that ny metro decided were no longer good enough for their subway cars). And finally, the seats that were so narrow both in space between you and the person in front of you and next to you is an absolute joke. I suppose if you were to get on the plane and sit completely still in an upright position for two hours you would be perfectly comfortable, however seeing as most people don't do that it was extremely uncomfortable. All in all I do not reccomend flying United. Ever. Very upsetting experience. There is a reason it was my cheapest option."
