Pros: The seats were very good. The crew was helpful and friendly.
Cons: We had a connection in Detroit. The flight from Seattle to Detroit arrived about 30 minutes late, and we barely made the connection. Apparently Delta had not told the Detroit-Boston flight to wait a few minutes for us. We did make the connection, but we arrived at the gate with no seat assignment (we had been bumped the day before from our original flight because of a mechanical problem) as the plane was loading. Had we missed the flight, we would have had to spend the night in Detroit and go to Boston the next day. Delta should have told the gate agent that we were coming.
Pros: The crew was very professional and polite, my flight attended (blond lady) was very pleasant and very professional. She should be promoter to teach others how to be professional without kiss passenger's a*s.
Cons: Could be better if the check in line employee were be able to sell one way ticket to Boston at 13:20hr , instead I had to purchased round trip just to get at my destination at planned time. Also I had to pay 30 dollars to go get the next flight at 18:59hrs , which was extremely inconvenient.
Pros: Amazing crew!
Pros: Very nice crew, quickly boarded and smooth flight!
Pros: Smooth flight. Crew friendly.
Cons: More leg room
Pros: Friendly crew
Pros: Pretty straight forward. Clean. Efficient.
Pros: Middle seat was empty
Cons: This flight was probably great but I was not on it
Cons: Significant delay of departure.
Cons: Made us check our carry ons and there was plenty of space in the cabin overhead comoartments
Pros: The food and drinks were so lovely, it felt like I was in first class rather than the cheapest economy seat. Great entertainment selection and comfortable seat that let me sleep well.
Cons: Proper communication
Cons: Needed assistance for limited mobility to make connections at ATL was not provided. Caused us to miss connections and had two falls trying to get around. Air France was terrible. Very limited food and beverage service left us hungry and thirsty on 7 to 10 hour flights.
Cons: Delayed and did not explain why
Cons: It was ridiculously cold for 2 1/2 hours. When my seat mate asked for a blanket, the stewardess said she only had one more - then walked off. For drinks, they skipped several people. I had to catch her eye to ask for one and then ask her to get my kids a drink in front of me.
Cons: Flight attendant in First class was visibly frustrated and unfriendly. He was not helping with my simple request for a blanket. Also, the were no food service in first class.
Pros: I like the entertainment on Delta.
Cons: I’m still in Los Angeles 10 hours after landing, having missed the connecting flight.
Cons: Wifi didn't work
Pros: Seats are fine. Ordering system is up to date.
Cons: After the first two hours of my flight (which I sleep through) I couldn’t buy a drink a soda or anything.
Pros: individual TVs
Cons: it would be great if you could not use all those one-use plastic cups. waste is a real issue in the US and the solution is using re-usable items like washable cups. Unboarding was a nightmare and it started to get really hot waiting to get off.
Cons: The fact the the toilette was kitty cornered in the mid cabin bathroom is a joke on modern society.
Cons: The flight attendants skipped many rows of people not offering food or beverage. I wasnt sleep so not sure why I wasnt asked did I want a beverage or snack
Cons: Flight was 1,5 hr delayed, which almost caused me to miss my connecting flight
Cons: WiFi didn't work
Pros: Good seating, great food, good service.
Cons: My kids were asleep when the flight attendant passed the snacks . I asked to get the snack for them and she told me they will have to get it in the back of plane once awake. Didn’t argue but was surprised
Pros: Everyone was great!
Pros: This was my daughter’s first solo travel home from college. She said the staff was helpful and kind. She loved that the flight was not over crowded. It was a smooth flight.
Cons: Only negative thing she could say was her flight was delayed an hour. But that isn’t terrible considering all the holiday travelers.
Cons: They upgraded only my husband and split him up with the rest of our family. We were delayed and once we landed we got stuck in an active taxi way just because of poor arrangements from airport staff
Cons: We thought we were flying AirFrance as our emails came from them and were surprised to learn after waiting in the AirFrance baggage drop queue for 30 mins that we were in the wrong place.
Pros: Delta employees exceedingly cordial. food poor to moderate, seating space impossibly small but pillow and blanket were provided
Cons: seats too close from front to back, and not adequately cushioned
Pros: Crew was very kind
Cons: Delta delayed us SEVEN times and I type this as we are rounding our 30th minute waiting to get off the plane at Logan.
Cons: I was flying from CDG to LGD and my bag was lost, yet the baggage claim system showed it arrived...... Thankful I packed some essentials in my carry on. The bigger issue will be dealing with my medical insurance company to get medications replaced that were in the checked bag.
Pros: Flight itself uneventful
Pros: Even though we were in the very back row, we did not experience a foul smell from the restrooms. This was a very nice relief. It is bad enough that the seats don't recline and there is no window in the very back row but prior experience with the added nausea of foul restroom order has been a serious insult to injury. In this case there was really minimal odor. Also since we are traveling as a family we are very happy that we were seated together. We have experienced the past that sometimes our seats will be fragmented and that creates major challenges when you are traveling with young children. However on this particular flight the ride was rough during both takeoff and landing, a lot of side to side shimmy. Also the cabin pressure varied quite a bit during landing causing all the kids to complain about some discomfort in their ears.
Pros: About 10-15 yrs ago I stopped transatlantic flights on Delta. It was a scruffy airline with uninterested cabin crew & not to talk of food etc. What a change! Neat clean A330, friendly crew & food + beverages to brag (you pay outrageous prices on 'leaner-meaner' airlines if at all available). Loved the whole experience. Flying is not only getting from A to B & Delta has realized it. Looking forward to my next Delta flight!
Cons: When plane landed early and waiting on another plane to move so we could get off plane over yhirty minutes waiting
Pros: In-flight entertainment and communication.
Cons: The online reservation had me pick seats for my family, those seats were emailed to me, then when I checked in and got our boarding passes, the seats had changed! Wouldn't have been a big deal, but I had already memorized our seats, so I looked like a moron when I insisted seats that were not ours anymore were ours!
Pros: Courteous crew and smooth flight
Pros: Not much
Cons: Security line, waiting an hour to take off, no time for drink service. Awful flight
Pros: Food available was good.
Cons: Very tight space- could not reach floor when person in front of me moved seat into recline position. Could not get out of seat to go to bathroom when my seat mates were sleeping. Tough to load- tight spaces.
Pros: The crew was really friendly and helpful. The plane was really clean
Cons: The boarding process was too long, there was a lot of people. It was kinda a mess. The sit assignment for people who didn't have sit assign was slow.
Cons: The plane was delayed by more than 3 hours due to "weather problems" earlier in the day. Delta did not permit re-booking to flights that left JFK for Boston earlier, even tho there seats available, instead insisting that we had to wait for our assigned flight. Small snacks (regular Coke, no Diet) did not really compensate well.
Pros: We flew a plane that had 2 row seats. I booked that for my daughter and me as well as seats ahead of an exit so we would have no one behind as. Great seats and they reclined quitea bit. We were very pleased.
Pros: It was comfortable
Cons: Everything was good
Pros: I like that all the chairs have working electric charger. Other airlines probably have this but it is important for me and they have this.
Cons: The Terminal in Chicago had no open amenities and overcrowded.
Pros: Everything about my trip was exceptional!
Cons: Entertainment system nor working properly. 40 minute flight delay due to minor cabin seat malfunction.
Pros: Nothing special good or bad
Cons: My seat did not recline properly and had to sit upright throughout the flight, so was less comfortable.
Cons: We need food
Pros: I had a great seat
Cons: Attention to detail by the gate attendant who totally missed that I was boarding the wrong flight
Cons: Leave a seat empty in the middle could be good for social distancing
Pros: The crew was nice
Cons: American has been overbooking flights, doesn't respect social distancing, not true that the middle seat is empty, the person next to me coughed frequently, and since it was a FULL flight, I couldn't get another seat!, never again American
Pros: Very timely and efficient
Cons: Seats are really small
Cons: How come I always have a beautiful and talented flight attendant? She was perfect!
Pros: Flight diverted. Poor communication
Cons: Realistically explain options of what may happen due to weather issues
Pros: Flight was fairly smooth. Food was available for purchase.
Cons: No onboard entertainment, either in seat or “shared”. Although I checked in over two hours ahead of my flight, my baggage was somehow placed on a later flight and will not arrive until early tomorrow morning.
Cons: We had to wait for a flight attendant in Louisville going to Chicago, which made us a little late to OHare. Then we had to wait at OHare for another plane to leave. I ran from the one set of gates to the other, but I missed the boarding, even though the plane was still there. I was extremely disappo
Pros: I was pleased there was entertainment for a short flight.
Cons: My original flight was cancelled and I could only be booked onto one the following day, causing me to miss a good portion of my dear friend's wedding festivities. I am pretty bummed to have paid the amount for a Friday flight only to be able to arrive on Saturday.
Pros: Ne’er front of plane for easy on/off. Payed extra for extra leg room.
Cons: Flight attendants were overworked on a full flight.
Pros: Amazingly professional, informative crew despite having had been diverted at the last moment and dealing with multiple issues from laptop freezing, an uncooperative passenger and delayed take off. My hats off to this crew; we had a smooth landing and very pleasant experience on board.
Cons: The terminal was under construction and extremely crowded. We could have used some help from the ground crew shepherding people, keeping hallways clear. Would probably be useful to not have gates immediately opposite each other both trying to board with space being so limited.
Cons: We were delayed at the gate after getting on the plane. While the crew was communicative it would have been better if we were alerted before boarding
Pros: New gates at Philadelphia are beautiful but are hard to get in and out of and the design almost forces people into the hallway which clogs up pedestrian traffic down the corridor
Cons: There were no announcements at the gate. So it was very disorganized and people were frustrated I had purchased some fried breakfast rice at the gate and it came in a bag. The woman at the gat told me I had too many bags. It’s not a bag lady. It’s fried rice. She was not friendly. At least smile when you tell me to combine my takeout bag and my very small cross-body bag that is barely big enough to hold my Iphone. Most of the announcements in flight were muffled and hard to hear. The safety speech was really quite terrible. I think someone was torturing her to do it. It was really quite painful to listen to.....
Pros: Great crew again, basic aircraft but comfortable economy seats.
Pros: Despite getting no updates, our flight itinerary was changed from a 3.30pm flight to a 9.20pm flight. Unfortunately this was after landing from Milan at 1.30 with two small children so we had already had a very long day. We absolutely never would have booked this flight itinerary had we known of the change.
Cons: I am beyond stunned that our flight itinerary was changed from 3.30pm to 9.20pm with no notification. This is absolutely unreasonable and inexcusable made even worse that we had already had a very long journey from Milan to JFK with two small children. Evidently the issue was that we booked via a 3rd party off the kayak site and not directly with British airways. When American airways changed the flight from 3.30 to 3.25, the 3rd party company failed to file for our updated itinerary so British air/American air bumped us to the next flight at 9.20pm. We have long been loyal to kayak feeling it provides the best breadth of options and good pricing. Now we may use kayak to see all the options but I can’t booking directly with kayak anymore after this complete disaster. We ended up renting a car and driving from jfk to Boston, getting home 23 hours after our journey had started, stressed, beyond exhausted and now have to return the rental car. Thanks kayak.
Pros: Or some attitude re-adjustment. I usually observe rude passengers acting the way some of the stewards were acting.
Cons: Rude staff
Cons: I paid extra for a better seat and it actually had less leg room than my standard seat on my Delta flight.
Cons: After being delayed without any explanation, I was told that I would not have my purchased 1st Class seat. To add to that I received no service In economy.
Cons: Lack of food and drink. Crew lackadaisical.
Cons: flight kept getting changed from delayed to on time then we finally get on the runway and have to shut the engines down and we were told that we would have to wait there for an hour
Cons: I specifically never choose American Airlines because whenever I do there are problems. I chose Iberia, not American Airlines and I got switched to it. Sat at the gate for 2 hours after my flight was ALREADY delayed because they didn't load our luggage under the plane correctly and it wasn't safe to fly. I will be calling American Airlines to file a complaint.
Pros: My flight wasn't completely full, so I had a row to myself. The pilot was excellent; takeoff and landing were very smooth.
Cons: I had to gate check my luggage because of the small plane size. Had I had a shorter layover this could have caused an issue for me.
Pros: Gate flight updates
Cons: No information on luggage even though they knew luggage was not received in London They could have sent me an update instead of having me wait at carousel for 1:30 hours waiting for my bag to show up
Cons: Entertainment. None. Horrible movies on common shared screen. Really sucks on long flights. Would not fly American again until they update enetertainment.
Cons: No wifi. No personal video. Old plane. Felt like 2005 domestic flight instead of 2017 international. I paid $135 each for 2 exit row seats, and everyone around me on the flight told me they had not paid anything and just received the seat today I won't fly AA again I don't think.
Pros: United airlines canceled a flight last minute that I needed in order to get to my best friends' wedding on time, I usually fly AA but the United flights were slightly cheaper at the time. The options United gave me would have had me missing the wedding, AA had more flights that allowed me to make it in time, considering it was booked 12 hours before take-off, it was decently reasonable and left on time and got in early (imagine that, United). Thank you American Airlines, again!
Pros: The entertainment was updated and refreshing.
Cons: Snacks was only pretzel
Pros: Everyone operated fast and professional
Pros: I made it home.
Cons: No entertainment on the flight, no plugs so my phone died, as I almost missed this flight due to my first leg being late, so I was very bored on this plane.
Cons: We were downgraded from Main Cabin Extra rows 7 and 8 to row 30. We were told that we will get refund automatically. However, we received nothing. Getting a refund back is now becomes a very complicated process with zero transparency. Main Cabin Extra is kind of a scam. We bought it specifically for an extra leg room. However, on the flight from PHX to BOS, all seats in the economy class have the same leg room. The agent explicitly told us that on this plane all seats are the same. So, they offer product they do not have and collect money. Sounds like a scam to me.
Pros: Like the entertainment selection with the gogo app. Just wish there were power outlets to charge my device while watching. Old plane didnt have any
Cons: people suck at boarding and there are too many priority classes (i'm gold)
Pros: - It was on time
Cons: - No food although I was entitled to free snack with my status - Service was inexistant - Premium seat (front row) thanks to my One World status but no space for my legs at all - it would have been better in a normal seat
Cons: Thought it was funny I didn't get a survey about my disaster trying to leave Boston, only the on time flight getting back. 6 hour delay leaving because of a warning light they didn't catch to begin with. Missed a whole day of vaca. No help once they deplaned us. Horrible flight. First time on American too. Paid for a window seat specific and had no window.
Pros: Entertainment system has a good selection
Cons: No earphones to listen to the soundtrack on the entertainment system
Cons: Cancelled flight last minute and I was put on another flight hours later; with a 1.5 hour delay too; no credit or voucher provided
Pros: The actual attendants on board were perfunctory but had zero urgency or understanding that we had been delayed or notified we'd be so delayed. Appeared there was zero communcation between the gate staff and actual crew. So much was so 'typical Miami' which is just a sad way any travel experience should be described. I expect more from the largest global airline especially when I just listened to several interviews from the CEO who appeared to pride himself to be accurate in being the best to serve his patrons.
Cons: Wish we had arrived on time we are an hour and a half late
Pros: No seat not comfortable.
Cons: No legroom.
Pros: Seat accommodations were great Gate assignments at airport should be confirmed before the plane arrived
Cons: Covid travel. Had us board an hour before take off and the back half of the plane was 100% full. Every seat including middle seats. 15 min before take off they allowed passengers to take empty seats and spread out.
Pros: Crew, check in and access
Cons: Seats are getting a bit tiny and the trays are small. Comfort and baggage prices are starting to drive the price out of competitiveness.
Cons: The padding on these seats.
Pros: Florida was amazing. The people were very friendly.
Pros: Space Seating Hospitality
Cons: Maybe complementary snacks
Pros: The boarding was quick and efficient, the plane was really clean.
Cons: It would be nice to be able to recline the seat, and if at least water was served (even if snacks and other drinks cost money).
Pros: Nice crew. Friendly and responsive
Cons: Recliner chairs
Pros: Crew unfriendly, unprofessional, and not courteous,
Pros: Flight attendants were very kind, attentive and caring. There was a special needs girl in the same row as me that was by herself and they were always making sure she was okay and comfortable as well as the rest of the plane.
Pros: Arrived safely
Cons: Almost two hours late.
Cons: Small seats, flight was late
Cons: Built in headrests on the seats.
Cons: 2 hour weather delay. Flight didnt arrive in Tampa until 1:30am. Hard time finding transportation from airport that late
Pros: Crew was nice for the most part.
Cons: Didn’t leave on time. Would be nice to get something complimentary for all the wasted time. Would like to be able to watch something
Pros: FLIGHT TIME
Pros: On time
Cons: Crew unfriendly, sometimes rude
Cons: They would not refund the charge for a carry on I made in error. I did not have a carry on. Would not give me info as to where I could take my complaint so I guess I took it here. The guy at the desk was HORRIBLE
Pros: The crew was courteous and helpful; plane was clean; flight was on time; no problems
Pros: All wa great
Cons: I cancelled this flight and somehow it doesn’t show in your records and now I cant find the cancellation.. I am not in Orlando.. last time I will use Kayak.
Pros: Nothing, honestly. Constantly delayed, cheap airline with forced fees, only one I could take and I can’t believe you exist. You have horrible customer service
Cons: I will never fly you again. Sure you don’t care.
Pros: Flight attendants were nice.
Cons: There was no one working at the counter when we arrived at the airport and there was already a sizable line. We waited about 10 minutes before anyone showed up to assist customers. Not sure what was up with that. Very uncomfortable seats and crowded seating on plane which is typical these days everything else went fine. Flight left and arrived on time.
Pros: somehow after waiting on tamarac for half hour, we still got to Asheville, destination, on time.
Cons: boarding in the rain, areas to check your bag and check in were so crowded you couldn't even find a proper line calling out names, some of the voices couldn't be heard no one available to answer questions what line a person should get in.som
Cons: Seats are hard
Pros: Great flight. Great staff.
Pros: It was exceervice
Pros: direct flight
Cons: EVERYTHING is extra payment, even a small carry-on; water $2!!!; seating is extremely cramped
Pros: Flight was ontime and smooth. No issues boarding or debarking.
Cons: Cheap plastic "mass transit train" style seats. Poor legroom. Borderline exorbitant fees for baggage and carry-on. Also weight on checked luggage was only 40lbs per piece while industry standard is 50lbs. Makes it difficult to share one suitcase between 2 people to save on baggage "fees".
Pros: Actual flight good and crew very accommodating
Cons: Seats poor. Waited 40 mins before the luggage entered the belt for pickup. Held us up for transportation to rent lot.
Cons: parking my car 2 weeks in Asheville Long term was $96. I should have gone to Charlotte, parked at my friend's house and paid AA the same rate for a nicer seat and cabin leg room. a la carte pricing ran my bill up even with NO checked luggage. Asheville doesn't have a shuttle service for the long-term parking.
Pros: Love the Military advantages. Thank you. Feels good to be honored & respected.
Cons: Lands in South Terminal of Austin’s airport, meaning you have to shuttle 8 miles to get to main terminal or long term parking. Unbelievable! Very inconvenient...
Pros: Free bags for military. Friendly, efficient, on time, price. It was all good.
Cons: Nothing. Excellent flight.
Cons: Moving from one gate to another. The three hour delay. It appeared that no one person really knew what they were doing. The disabled in wheel chairs we left on there own. One elderly woman literally fell out of her wheel chair to the floor. I was discusseded by the events of the airline.
Cons: No issues
Pros: No complications and efficient boarding
Cons: The people that stand up when the plane stops even though they are going to have to wait till the door opens and everyone in front of them has to get off before they do.
Pros: The food vouchers for 5 hour wait and water/beverages available. Liked alligent app for boarding pass available without printing.
Cons: The 5 hour wait while the plane was worked on was unexpected. Not a lot of extra space for a near 6 hour flight. Seats do NOT recline at all. The other plane they boarded us on smelled like dirty shoes or diaper.
Cons: Four hour delay and charging for on flight drinks including water
Pros: My book
Cons: The seats
Pros: The fare
Cons: Seats don't recline. There's NOTHING complimentary not even water
Pros: No complaints about the trip to Newqrk. Everyone was very helpful and patient since I am an unexperienced flyer.
Cons: I didn't like thinking I was paying one price then paying another or buying insurance that would have been useless since it doesn't cover anythIntg.
Cons: Leg space tight. Seat didn't recline. They said the maximum width on the under seat personal item is 7 inches but space is big enough for wider than that. I felt that was misleading.
Pros: I was prepared for the worst and was pleasantly surprised on all counts. On-line booking easy, check in a breeze, boarding on time, reasonably comfortable flight, baggage no problem.
Cons: Seats a bit flimsy.
Cons: Not clean
Pros: Good crew
Cons: No wifi
Pros: Fast wi fi and decent selection of in flight stuff on devices. Landed early!
Cons: The WiFi did not work the entire flight (4 hours from Chicago to Seattle) and despite passengers inquiring multiple times, we were never informed whether to expect it to start working or not. Streaming TV was also poor quality on the United app.
Pros: The airplane
Cons: The departure was delayed because of weather in Houston. If the Houston flight to SJC would have waited than we could have avoided other delays
Pros: The crew was friendly and helpful.
Cons: I have no complaints!
Pros: The crew was great
Cons: All we got for food was a little bag of pretzels. Maybe not cheap out on that
Pros: Crew amazing, smooth flight and on-time
Cons: Legroom and the fact that there is even s lower version of economy now! Yikes
Pros: Everything was great. On time, great room, pleasant staff!!!
Pros: On time departure & arrival
Pros: Pleasant flight crew and comfy seats, even in coach.
Pros: They got us to destination almost on time.
Cons: The seats on this 777 are inconvenient, the food was plain horrible, and the crew didn't care about anything. This is a third world airline experience.
Pros: They did allow myself and children to board earlier 5/4.
Cons: I wasn’t able to take the flight due to illness. Called Just Fly and airline for help - was on hold for hours. Both refused to help me. I am now out of pocket over $700. Appalling customer service by both airline and agent. Planning to report to the Better Business Bureau and travel authorities.
Cons: Worst food I've ever had on a plane. Entertainment and internet down for half the flight after a delay at the airport for maintenance. Finally had United app. No free WiFi.
Pros: Legitimately, nothing was liked.
Cons: My plane broke, worked multiple mechanicals, returned to the gate, my severely delayed departure caused all my connections to be missed thus creating more compounded issues. HUGE HUGE headache. Almost forgot, I'm still missing my luggage 2 whole days later.
Pros: The space on the plane, we left on timeand arrived early and I was able to sit by myself.
Cons: One of the stewardesses spoke very harshly to me. I felt very embarrassed and offended.
Pros: Crew very good
Cons: Seats not very comfortable
Pros: At least UA rebooked me next day no charge.
Cons: Had to cancel trip until next day due to initial flight so delayed I would have missed connection in Denver. Since UA claimed was weather related, I woulda been responsible for hotel.
Cons: The delay!!!
Cons: Cancelled the flight two hours before departure. Weren't apologetic.
Cons: Had to pay for entertainment. This was my 50th flight this year and first time any airline has no free entertainment. Probably will boycott united on future flights
Pros: Polite and friendly staff.
Pros: I overslept my flight and United was able to find the next available flight into Denver which helped me tremendously. The guy on the phone was very pleasant and helped so much.
Cons: Boarding was disorganized and hard to understand. Flight was delayed because of paperwork that wasn't signed, which caused me to miss my connecting flight.
Pros: There is no food essentially. No entertainment unless you have your own electronic hand-held device.
Cons: See above.
Cons: The plane wasn't very clean. And I might have liked another option besides a weird trail mix for a snack.
Cons: It was freezing on the plane.
Cons: Seats are too close.
Pros: The Embraer ERJ-170 has comfortable seats!
Pros: Same with the first flight leave access to the club room was amazing it was a great way to tame the Perils of travel with a long delay between flights I was able to go into the club room have Refreshments some food and sit down and relax and wait for my next flight probably the most comfortable I've been in the last 6 years of flying.
Pros: I liked that I finally made it home despite all the drama.
Cons: I didn't like that I booked a flight nearly 2 months ago to only find out I didn't have a seat. I do understand its legal but I don't get how you are putting customers first by causing this drama. I understand how that DR felt when your guards ripped him out of his seat. I spent nearly 3 hours trying to find babysitters and alternate rides all while the snotty lady at the desk kept saying "you may not be flying out today but I cant tell you for sure". So to insure the bottom line you overbook then bump people at your leisure? This little game effects many lives above and beyond just the passengers. I don't plan on booking with United ever again. Why would I? There are many other options that take customer service more seriously. I would love to speak to someone higher up in this organization. But, im sure that will never happen.
Cons: More leg room
Cons: The baby crying!
Pros: I liked the new, immaculately clean plane that appeared to have more leg room between seats, which also appeared to recline more than my recent United Flights. Other rows appeared to be quite comfortable. I don't like the only flight options into Aquadilla to be so late at night. There is enough of a demand into and out of this airport to have at least a few daytime flights.
Cons: After having changed my seat and choosing the last row, I realized that those seats had been squashed into the remaining space in the cabin. It did not allow for as much leg room as other seats and being the last row, the seats did not incline. My own fault for selecting this row however, I wish it had been mentioned when I made the selection. Also, the entertainment was only available through an APP on one's Smart Phone. This assumes everyone has a smart phone, the correct plan and the knowledge to use said app. Too much reliance on technology when the "old way" worked just fine for more customers. The Crew was fantastic......very accommodating without being over bearing.
Cons: There was a delay with the flight. I wish there had been earlier communication about what was going on, i.e. Why it was delayed, how long will the delay be.
Pros: Staff was great, friendly, and accommodating
Cons: Upgraded to first thinking i would be more comfortable and have a decent meal...wrong...seats were so blown out that my butt and back were in pain most of the flight. Caught food posioning from the rice pilaf. I dig that united offers inflight entertainment through your phone but its annoying that i have to hold up my phone i watch something but now I'm just nitpicking.
Cons: Rude and unhelpful staff. Delayed also which made my travel bad.
Pros: The seats were comfortable and spacious place were awesome :) The snack was very good, the best I had so far while flying. Service was great :)
Cons: I didn't like that because I was 4th group to get in the plane, all the space above my seat was full and I had to go put my carry-on quite further down. It didn't cause me any problem because my connection flight had a long layover, but if had not been, I could have been late.
Cons: It was so late it left me in the lurch and ruined my week
Pros: Clean newer plane
Cons: Entertainment Seating
Pros: I was very nervous, but the flight attendant made me feel at ease.
Pros: On time!
Cons: Old plane- lots of noises/raddles. Flight attendant not especially friendly, but that's ok? Wish United went direct from Louisville to Ft Myers. Need to add trip to Frequent Flyer Account
Cons: LATE changed gates at last minute
Cons: Held up at check in because of understaffing. Long TSA line. When we finally got to gate wouldn't let us board. Then agent was extremely rude about putting us on a different flight. Have always flown Delta and am sorry I ever strayed. It will never happen again.
Pros: Crew was great
Cons: Flight delayed Sat on runway for 30 min
Pros: service was great
Pros: The employees were extremely helpful and friendly. I had just flown in with united from Hawaii and landed 6. 15 am that morning and the employees assisted as I was not familiar with the airport. Will definitely fly united again.
Pros: Excellent attention to detail
Cons: There was no air circulating on the plane the entire flight. The plane was over 90 degrees when we got on. Everyone on the flight asked for the air to be on and we were told it was. No air was coming out of the vents. Horrible flight.
Pros: Crew was friendly
Cons: A lot of turbulence for the 1st hour of flight
Pros: The piolets and staff were kimd
Cons: The airline kept delaying and canceling the flights with little to no notification, resulting in people missing work, connecting flights, and other important situations. there weren't many employees working at the airport to assist the people who were in unfortunate situations involving the flight, including myself. Overall it was a poor experience flying with United airlines, but that won't stop me from future planning.
Cons: Seats are way to small. Crew was rude. Flight was 2-1/2 hrs late
Pros: Getting home safely.
Cons: Getting home on time.
Pros: Not at all
Cons: Your rules! Spirit allows 1 carry on? Sucks. You have to bay $50 to check A single bag? Sucks and too expensive why don’t you try to be like Jet Blue and make it nice for us flyers. Spirit blows
Pros: I like better if the food is free
Cons: Too crowded given the current situation
Cons: Spirit charges you for EVERYTHING. $55 for carry-ons seems outrageous. To select our seats, it was an additional fee. We did not pay the fee because we don’t care where we sit, but they sat us (me and my minor children) separately. Middle seats are not blocked, so social distancing is impossible. They are continuing to sell snacks and taking cards and cash. Safety does not seem to be top of mind, which is concerning to say the least.
Pros: The crew was nice. Y
Cons: Everything else. I couldn't check in online. When I got to the airport, I was told I didn't have a flight. I showed the lady my confirmation email and she kept telling me that I only had one flight (this was my return flight home from Florida), I had to show her the difference between the two flights. Then she tried to tell me that I had cancelled my flight online..... which I hadn't, hence me being there trying to check in. Horrible company. They push their flight attendants to have customers sign up for the Spirit credit card. Just horrible horrible company.
Cons: I had 3 bags which could easily fit into the cabin space. One of the bags I had carried was the same bag which I had while boarding the flight from Boston to Chicago on 8th Jun 17. While in that trip I was not charged for the bag as the size & weight fitted into your norms. But I had to pay $195 for 3 bags, including the bag which I had while leaving Boston. The behavior of the staff manning the boarding gate was nasty. As I was not having a credit card with me, I chose to pay cash. But they refused to accept cash & told me that my flight will be cancelled and I won't be allowed to board the aircraft. I panicked & requested the passengers to take money from me and swipe their card. With great difficulty I found a passenger who obliged me. A fresh boarding pass was issued to all 4 of us. The bag which I had while taking the flight to Chicago on 8/6/17 fitted on the equipment which measures the sizes, but I was made to pay for it. Very horrible experience of flying a so called low fare airline.
Pros: The ride was smooth and shorter than expected
Cons: all the hidden fees... The luggage was $52 for a carry on which is totally ridiculous. On the flight no snacks or beverages were complimented and the one soda that was had to split between the 3 passengers in the row the staff on the flight were also extremely rude and not pleasant at all. Messages over the loud speaker where not clear and very unprofessional almost as if were were on a ride at a carnival. A family of 3 were seated separated and the flight and were lucky enough to have another passenger trade seats and the staff yelled at them it was very sad. Also i was charge and international charge on my credit card for making and international purchase needless to say i will never purchase another flight from spirit
Pros: Sitting down. Not much more was pleasant.
Cons: Got jammed getting on the plane. With time to make it through security we were held back. Now missing our flight, we were hit with late fee and a flight for 12 hours later. Spent all day at the airport, missing afternoon engagements on the home front. Then waited in the terminal to then realize we had to pay for carry on baggage. Should have been identified when the new tickets and boarding passes were issued. No notificTion. We then had to pay before boarding, the attendant saw that we paid a late charge and continued to bill us for carry on. No discount, no empathy, not how to do business. Not a fan of surveys and have not filled one out in years but this experience was past poor. The delay and charges added up to a travel that would have gotten us to the.other coast, not the 55 minute flight home. The flight was.also delated for over an hour, pusbing us out even later due to weatber? Weather between Baltimore and Boston were clear. Bostin our destination city was clear as well. Just a terrible experience and will not be recommnding any services with thus carrier in the future.
Pros: The crew was friendly and informative and my seat was comfortable. I also received numerous updates regarding my delayed flight so I felt well-informed as to the situation.
Cons: My flight was delayed three hours. In spite of this lengthy delay, no complimentary food or drink was offered on the flight. I have experienced delayed flights prior to this and have found that the airline generally tries to make it up a little bit to the passengers by offering them some basic complimentary snacks and drinks, which I feel is a nice gesture. I was a little surprised that this was not offered with my delayed flight yesterday. The only available food and drink options were very pricey so I went without.
Pros: Crew were nice
Pros: Not much except the quick boarding but that's because no one brings a checked bag which is a HUGE negative.
Cons: First of all the people who work at spirit in Florida are very rude. Second it is a major scam that they advertise cheap flights. Their flights are cheap because they charge you for your carry on. $57 to carry on a small roller bag and $50 to check your bag. To me that is unbelievable. There is plenty of space and it makes no sense. They also won't even give you a free cup of water. Flying naturally dehydrates your body. I'm surprised we don't hear about more people getting sick or passing out on their flights! I just couldn't believe for a 3 hr flight I'd have to buy a water bottle. In the end just was not worth the cheaper flight price. I will never fly spirit again.
Pros: The nickle and diming. $50 for a carry on? Outrageous! $40 for a checked bag? You've got to be kidding! If the flight had been cheap this might have been acceptable, but it was $300 for a one way flight to Boston. Price gouging because of school vacation week. Also, $10 to check in at the airport? Sure, you say do it on line, but I tried for hours on my iphone and the site did not work. I went to Staples to try it there and print a boarding pass and could not get the website to work. The lady at Staples said this is common...people ALWAYS have trouble with Spirit, she said. We were able to check in at the Kiosk at the airport so it turned out all right. As to the seats, I'm 5'1" and average weight and felt like a sardine. I'm glad at least that the flight was on time and the pilot managed to get us in a half hour earlier so we didn't have to stay crammed in for too long.
Pros: Crew was very nice.
Cons: Ridiculous charges for everything you get on other carriers for free: printing boarding pass, choosing a seat, water, carry on bag allowance. Additionally seats are extremely small(and I am not a big person), no inflight entertainment available at all, no option for an electronic boarding pass and additionally the flight was delayed. With what I paid for the flight itself, the charge for 1 carry-on bag and the fee for selecting a seat at the time of booking, my total cost was more than what I would have paid on Delta or American. Will not be a repeat customer of Spirit.
Cons: There was a medical emergency on board that had everyone questioning what was going on. We all heard a scream, that of course freaked all of us out. Nobody was telling us what was going on or asked for a Doctor on board. We even landed without knowing what happened. Because most of the staff was tending to this issue, when it came time to throw out trash, the flight attendant was swiftly walking down the plane calling out "trash". I didn't even have enough time to hand him mine before he passed our row without looking. The flight was also extremely turbulent. And a word of the wise for future Spirit purchasers: the seats do not recline AND there is no on board entertainment.
Pros: Good service and staff worked with a smile.
Cons: The website is not the easiest to navigate. I don't like the look...not very professional. The ads boast of the airlines low cost but it Nichols and dimes you for every little thing. I wasn't happy that when I did the early check in the day before departure it offered me to get bumped up to Zone 2 so we would get seated first and have first access to the overhead bin. I purchased it for about $20 but on the way to West Palm they called both zones to get up to board the plane and for the return trip to Boston, Zone 1 got called first to board. This was money spent for nothing....like a donation. the bottom line is that what we spent with Spirit was not less expensive than other airlines. By the time you add all extra fees, there are no savings.
Cons: the flight was delayed again and again for over 18 hours even as other planes from other airlines took off around us. at one point we boarded the flight and sat 10 feet from the gate for over an hour before they returned us to thr gate and made us disembark. for another set of delays we were told that the person supposed to tow the plane had lost his access badge and another person had to drive in from home to do the work. other than this, the gate staff gave the passengers limited to no information. no amenities were provided to delayed passengers (no snacks, accommodations, etc). plus, the terminal had only one women's restroom with only two stalls, one of which was frequently out of toilet paper.
Pros: The flight to Fort Lauderdale was outstanding in all respects, including carrying on our bags.
Cons: The Spirit check-in for the flight back (2/27/17#616) was degrading, confused, and expensive: the worst ever in a long experience flying worldwide and our last with Spirit. After making them aware of a hip transplant, we were directed to the wrong location eliciting an rude expletive; redirected, we were told our carry-on was too big and charged $50. to check it. I had carried it on at Logan and with Delta 2/8 and 2/10) and many other airlines before. On board people all around us carried on bags similar in size to our checked bag.
Cons: They told me I needed to spend a lot of money to sit with my 6 and 7 year old children. A LOT of money. Without spending extra, we would be assigned random seats. I didn't believe them because it breaks FAA rules, , so I checked in without our. Basing the seats and I was already seated with my kids. They obviously lied and tried for the upsell. They changed my flight 4 times and never sent a notification Website is intentionally deceptive and horribly designed. I tried to purchase bags and it checked me in (without my consent), tried to upsell me on a credit card 4 times, tried to upsell and confuse me about purchasing priority boarding, Only one working bathroom on a full flight. They deceived everyone at the gate and said a carry on was 100 dollars but failed to mention that it only applied to carry ons over a certain size. Worst company I've ever dealt with. Deceptive.
Cons: After a slight parking delay at the airport I made it to the Spirit check-in 43 minutes before departure. Spirit representatives had already left the counter leaving me, my family, and several other passengers who arrived just after me with no ability to get boarding passes. We proceeded to the security area where we could see the Spirit reps who could have easily checked us in at that point. We spoke out to them asking for help but they simply looked down and ignored us. They told the TSA agents they would not come out till after the flight departed. Imagine how frustrating that was to hear. No other airline behaves like this. Later, my request for cancellation and refund was rejected because I missed the 45 minute window. I am out $544. I managed to get a flight with Delta that morning and was treated like royalty by comparison. The Delta flight was almost the same price to boot. Never again Spirit! Not worth saving a few pennies to be treated like that.
Pros: The flight crew was very good. They made constant announcements as to the status of the flight and anticipated turbulence. The flight attendants were also good
Cons: Where to begin. You arrive at the airport to endless lines. There were three lines to check in and we learned eventually that one line was for Cuban flights. One for us and one for something else. However, the staff was rude and there was no signage indicating which was which. Then the baggage claim lady charged me $59 extra for my bag but then said that if I had had my friends check the bag I wouldn't have had to pay the fee. Of course then it was too late. Then the flight was delayed because the bad overbooked it. Finally at Boston our bags took forever to arrive and when they did the were soaking wet. I understand that Spirit is meant to be the economical carrier but that is no excuse for rude and incompetent staff. I heard SOO many people say they would never fly Spirit again. Get it together Spirit!
Pros: If you don't mind minimal leg room, seats that don't recline and high prices for low grade food, the crew was courteous, the plane was clean and we had a smooth flight that arrived on time! Hiccup We paid for our bags online the night before but the Kiosk said still owed the money. Very frustrating now having to now wait in the ticket line, and with holiday TSA long lines, we were the last ones to board the plane as the gate closed. That needs to be fixed. It we didn't make it you would have gotten a scathing review. $45 per carry-on is real steep though. However, all is well!
Pros: Totally so mad at check in on line 24 hours ahead of time - found out one piece of checked bags is $40, a carry on was another $20 and seat assignement was yet another fee. All this after buying a ticket! We had no idea there were so many other fees. The airport was was out of our way and we only booked the flight because the fare was lower. When we found at AT CHECK IN, 24 hours ahead of time about all the extr fees, we rebooked on another airline and said forget this airline, what a rip off! Never again will book this airline with all those hidden fees. It was excessive and not mentioned till check in. Bad business model!!
Pros: The plane was clean (looked new) and the crew was very nice and helpful!
Cons: After having to pay to choose seats and paying over $400 in changes for luggage (2 people one carry on and one checked luggage each) we also had to pay for any beverage or snack on the plane. Also, apparently we didn't read carefully, though no one was able to point me in the correct direction, there is a limit to the weight on the checked luggage of 42lbs and we each were at 45lbs.... I'm aware of the 50lbs limit not 42. We had to over stuff our carry-ons after paying over $400 to even have checked luggage in the first place!! Otherwise we would have had to pay anther $100 for an additional carry-on. The seats are padded shells and, for long flights, can be uncomfortable. We ended up being over an hour late, there was no communication until the landing announcement.
Cons: I had 2 tickets booked for Boston on November 17th at 5:58pm. I tried to check in online for both travelers, but according to Spirit Airlines website, you cannot check 2 tickets from the same account. When I arrived at BWI airport and went to the Spirit Airlines desk the lady told me that the flight is closed even though it was still not boarding time yet. I explained to her what happened and asked for cooperation, but she just kept repeating that flight is closed and next flight is in 2 days, which I couldn't wait for, because of the scheduled appointments that I had in Boston. In general the service was terrible and the website platform didn't work right. I had tk pay $250 dollars for last minute ticket while I already lost the money for the first two tickets.
Pros: Flight home to Boston was great! Wonderful crew, entertaining and a smooth flight.
Cons: Flight 857 to Dallas was awful, inside the plane cabin was a high pitched loud noise that hurt my ears for 15 minutes before takeoff and 15 minutes after landing. It was never explained by the crew and was definitely not normal. Sounded like a serious mechanical issue and no customer should be subjected to that. Also sounded like landing gear was not working properly, it kept making grinding noises. Also bratty children on the flight and stewardess did nothing to stop several customers from playing videos out loud on their phones before takeoff. Why were they not told to use ear phones? Very disrespectful to other customers. The 8 y.o. in front of me reached back in to my compartment and tried to shut my window! I had to yell "no, stop don't touch my window!" And his mother sitting right next to him did nothing. He also rang for the stewardess call button for no reason, she did not punish him for that either.
Cons: Flight was delayed 1.5 hours that they did not tell us about until we got to the gate because of 'air traffic', which should have been known ahead of time. Flight attendants were obviously tired and in a bad mood. Very small room in seat. The passenger behind me had her knees digging into my back the entire trip. A woman got too drunk and had to be moved to the front of the plane right in front of me because she was too intoxicated and out of hand. She was yelling and then threw up. It was overall one of the worst flights I've had in a very long time. It wasn't all Spirit's fault, but they didn't help the situations because you're paying for the "bare minimum".
Cons: Horrible Horrible airlines. First airline that I will make it a point to never fly again. They obviously are nickle and dime-ing everything, but more more predatory than that. Was warned by many on how to avoid this, but still ended up with $140 in extra fees and spent 30 mins on the phone to a foreign customer service line. Spirit changed the gate 20 minutes before boarding but kept the electronic signage same, so people arriving on time waiting at the original gate and missed their flight. With some repeated experience you may be able to to learn minimize you losses but honestly it is not worth this experience again. And if you search online, you will notice that this is a common experience with Spirit.
Cons: Where do I begin? The price seemed reasonable until I arrived and they charged me $55 to CARRY-ON my bag. Would have been $55 to check it but I was afraid they would lose it. Then boarding the plane there was a sign saying "FIT CREW: We have the youngest crew of any airline". To me that says age discrimination and also inexperience. When I finally sat down, there was trash on my seat and also facial oil on the window. It was clear that they did not clean between flights. Sitting down, my seat was broken and reclined every time I leaned against it. I had a child about 5 years old behind me that was disturbing everyone in our area and the flight attendant never addressed the situation with their parent. When the child was slamming their tray up and down on the back of my seat, a stranger finally said something. Also, don't expect to even get water for free. $3 a pop! The landing was also extremely rough. Needless to say, I will never fly this airline again!
Cons: I fly a lot. I took spirit because of the great deal I got, but will never fly them again no matter what. I will pay more for a flight because of the poor customer service. My flight was cancelled after being delayed after 10 mins. This is was about my 10th time flying the airlines, I was trying to give them a chance, and every time have had serious problems. I work customer service and understand how annoying these message are and realize there will probably be nothing done about how I feel and the poor service I received, but really this was a horrible experience. Lucky I am savy at finding new flights. I stood in line to change mine while on the phone with spirit and lucky cancelled the flight with spirit. I had to rebook with a different airlines. The difference between the flight was $240. My husband rebooked it for me while I was on the phone with spirit. Never again will I fly this airlines, no matter what I do!
Pros: The cabin crew and pilot wert wonderful!
Cons: Checking in was a nightmare! The self serve kiosk was at the counter and we had to wait in line with full service to even get to one, that took almost 40 minutes, then tsa had an unbelievably long line and took another hour! We got to the gate just in time for final boarding call. The flight crew announced they were going to close doors but changed their mind to continue "refueling" and let almost fifteen more people on! If I had been one of those people who got to the gate to be told boarding was completed I would have been furious! They needed to wait for those people, still it delayed our flight about 20 minutes. The flight itself was a little bumpy, definitely an economy airline.
Cons: I called 10 days before my flight to cancel it due to a death in the family. I was told someone from management would call me within 5 day about the matter. I never heard back so I called the day before my flight and I was told once again that someone from management would call me within 5 days. They apologized that no one ever called me the first time. It's been 13 days since that last phone call and I still haven't heard back. Three tickets down the drain and no one ever called me back so I could at least pay the cancellation fee to get credit for another future flight. Horrible customer service!
Cons: We had the unfortunate experience of dealing Spirit Airlines yesterday at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, August 13th, on the way to Boston for a wedding. We were asked to check in at the kiosk, which we did. And after spending $412.36 on airline tickets in July, we had to pay $55 for one carry-on bag. After completing the transaction, we were notified that our boarding passes could not be printed and head to the desk. After speaking with their customer representative, "James", we were told the flight was closed and there was nothing he could do. He said the flights are non-refundable and we should have arrived sooner, although our receipt clearly shows we were there ahead of their 45 minute mark. We asked him for our $55 dollars back for the baggage and he said he'll need to get his supervisor. This is when "Carmen" the supervisor came to the station. Their names are in quotations because both employees refused to turn their badges over to show their names, which seems very shady at a security-centered facility like a main international hub airport. (I took photographs of both employees) She said she can not give us a refund and rudely pointed to our receipt to mention all baggage fees are non-refundable. We asked her why would Spirit even charge us a baggage fee for a flight they were not going to let us get on and she said she didn't know, but she can't help us. Neither employee offered any assistance to get us on another flight. We have contacted Spirit Airlines with the receipts showing the time and photographs of the employees, but I think this issue requires further assistance after reading multiple stories online dealing with this same airline. The fact that they are allowed to charge us for bags the day of, then not refund the money, while taking our flight fees, seems illegal. I urge you to take a look into their business practices. They have cost my family hundreds of dollars, with regards to hotel and rental car cancellations, lost traveling fees, time off work, and the main displeasure of missing a wedding!
Pros: Unfortunately there is nothing positive to say here.
Cons: Sadly we had a horrible experience at the airport with the spirit staff. The customer service representative had over 60 people lined up against the wall, not allowing them to "check in" because of minor delay. They were then hand picking who they would let in line, based on their flight and boarding pass. In addition to this I didn't want to spend my day at the airport so I booked another flight home. THEN to realize HE made a mistake..... That was the flight delayed! I then had to ask for a refund and explain that he mixed up my flight. Had 40 min to make it through security at that point. It's been 3 weeks and still no refund. Never again!
Pros: The flight was delayed for 4.5 hours for no eal reason except poor management. They then boarded early and the agent left. We almost didn't get on and 5 of us were quite panicked. when we got on board we had to wait for maintenance...scary. next when we landed we had to wait 20 minutes becuase they don't have gates. I have a TSA number I filed with Spirit but, I ddin't get that because they don't have a system for it yet. We were supposed to arrive in Boston at 8:13Pm. We got there at 1:20 AM. The charge for one bag and if its' over 40 lbs they change another 30 dollars per bag. Most airlines allow 50lbs and no charge for the first bag. they charge for seat assignment ahead. You must get your boaridng pass ahead or I bleieve they charge you extra. It is unbelevable. I will never fly them again. When
Pros: Not a thing.
Cons: The bathrooms still didn't work even though it was a new plane. The seats didn't recline and there wasn't even a tray to put your things on. Not that we could get a complimentary beverage anyway. I had to charge a $3 Dixie cup of water. What a waste. Oh and they don't have barf bags, so don't be alarmed when someone throws up in the aisle. And when they do, because someone did on my flight, don't expect the flight attendants to know what to do - there isn't a protocol. They dumped coffee grounds on it and just left it there because they didn't have anything to clean it up with. We flew our entire redeye with the lights on with no bathrooms in seats that didn't recline, nauseated from the smell but too broke from all the other fees to be able to afford a drink. This airline is a ripoff.
Cons: The check in process for horrific. We waited in line for more than an hour and we were at the front of a line that was at least 3 hours long. The counter was understaffed. Supervisors were not available. Counter staff told us the rest of the staff was "hiding in the back" because they did not want to deal with the problems out front. The seats were very uncomfortable and did not recline at all. It might have been worth it if the flight really was as cheap as the original price, but once you paid for your seat, checked bags, and carry on bags, the cost was comparable to the major airlines. Never again. We are considering buying one way tickets home at the counter for extreme amounts of money just to avoid flying home with them.
Cons: My return flight ticket was cancelled because I did not take the initial flight to Las Vegas. I booked a different leaving flight from Boston because of a job interview and when I showed at the airport to make my return flight booked through Kayak on Spirit , I found out my ticket was cancelled. I was forced to purchase another ticket from another airline. This was concerning since Kayak sent me a reminder about my flight to tell me the flight time had changed. Horrible Customer service at Spirit. The guy i spoke with at the customer service counter said it was not his problem and walked away.
Cons: So we get a call on the way to the airport saying the flight was cancelled.....followed by "Have a great Day :-) '. They offered to book us two days later on a different flight. What???...do they think I'm a sr. citizen with nothing to do but sit around for two days waiting for a flight? Completely ridiculous. I got a refund....but it was ridiculous. I know... I saw all the other reviews saying to "never book spirit"...plus I had another ridiculous experience on Spirit a couple years ago. But after two disasters, I now know to never book spirit again.
Pros: Nothing good about this airline... It is a horrible airline run by rude inconsiderate people who try and rip you off with hidden fees and services! Their business motto is "Let's trick our customers into paying more and then lie to them when they ask simple questions" That's not a good way to run a company and quite frankly I don't understand how they're still in business.... See my bad review section for more details
Cons: The flights were delayed both ways on the round trip, the first flight by 3 hrs and the return flight 1 hour. Both flights were not delayed due to weather because it was nice out. Just poor management. Our return flight was delayed when I woke up that morning and all day it remained delayed on their website. Until 2 hrs before the flight it was switched back to ontime. We called Spirit to confirm and they said it was ontime. So we had to rush out of the house and skip the dinner my father in law made everyone because the airport is an hour away. We got to the airport only to find the flight was delayed on the board. We went to the gate and the Spirit employees kept assuring us the flight was not delayed even after the scheduled time the flight was suppose to leave they continued to lie and were completely dishonest with everyone on the flight. Very rude customer service and they would just ignore people and walk down the runway and shut the door so they wouldn't talk to us or give anyone an update. We could have gone and had dinner had they not lied to us about the departure time. Just the worst airline I've ever dealt with in my life... they may be cheap but you get what you pay for... and any upfront cost for the ticket is false advertising because once you purchase the ticket you then have to pay for a carry on bag, you have to pay to pick a seat on the plane, you have to pay to check in when you're at the airport, and you have to pay for any services on the plane including the "complimentary drink or snack." Their seats on the plane do not recline at all to make things more comfortable either. I will never fly them again and I warn anyone else who might think saving $50 on the ticket price is worth it cause they get it back in the end and then some!
Pros: Cheap flight, no waiting to print boarding pass.
Cons: The flight was slightly delayed, but the gate agent did not seem to know about it and the email was sent well after the scheduled boarding time. It was completely unnecessary for me to run through the airport. The same thing happened the last time I flew from BWI to Logan with Spirit.
Cons: The flight attendants were totally unprofessional. After falling asleep during taken off, what sounded like a rowdy brunch with too many mimosas woke me up. It turned out to be four flight attendants hanging out in the rear of the plane chatting very loudly. They were certainly the loudest people on this 6:30 am flight. They were much louder than the three young unattended minor boys on the flight. It sounded like they were having a great time. They were even swapping "funny" stories about passengers from previous flights. I could have slept despite the uncomfortable non-reclining seats on this flight but the flight attendant party made it it impossible. I am sure I was not the only one. Everyone in the back 5 rows was awake. The most unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced. On another note, the spirit website that one must use to check in for free is a pain. The mobile version does not work properly and the password reset link doesnt workl
Cons: I had never flown spirit before and I will never fly with them again. First off the pricing they advertise is completely misleading. I purchased my ticket thinking I was saving some money compared to other airlines to only find out that they slap you with a million other fees. You need to pay to bring a carry on, you need to pay for non-alcoholic beverages even water. By the time all of these added up and I was in the middle of my flight sitting in not to mention the most uncomfortable seats with no leg room and no ability to recline for over 5 hours, the total cost was equal to if not greater a flight on my usual go to airlines, American/US.
Cons: My flight (414 on July 1st) was scheduled to depart around 6PM. Poor weather was forecasted for Boston but had not yet delayed any flights. An earlier flight at that gate to Atlanta had not left because of smell of raw sewage on the plane. Our plane was re-assigned to the Atlanta flight (which was about 4 hours late in departing). Our flight was delayed. And then due to the increasingly poor weather in Boston ended up cancelled with no new flights being available until more than 24 hours later. Because our flight (and not the Atlanta flight) was cancelled because of weather, we were not offered any recourse except to either reschedule or get a refund. It seemed obvious to everyone that a decision had been made to ensure that the Atlanta flight was not the one cancelled since it would have resulted in some type of compensation to the ticket holders. Had our flight left on schedule, we would have missed the bad weather as other airlines were still landing in Boston when our flight was scheduled to land. Will never fly with Spirit again and would highly recommend avoiding this airline to anyone else. Never did find out why the plane smelled of raw sewage either (which is also concerning as well).
Pros: Absolutely nothing.
Cons: We were told that our flight was delayed, with no explanation. Then, we were told it was weather. However, weather in Boston was clear and then slightly stormy. They said it was a 'ground stop' which is for severe weather. People waiting for passengers in Boston said that the weather was not severe. Then, after waiting for hours, with a plane at our gate, our flight was canceled, without explanation. People received conflicting information from, a cabin pressure issue, to a severe smell aboard the plane, to a ground stop in Boston. Spirit could not book us on another flight or a different airline until potentially late the next day (we didn't wait in the 2-hour line to find out). This is the last time I will fly with Spirit. Budget tickets shouldn't mean budget service and lies.
Pros: Crew stayed friendly despite an annoying delay. Information about the delay was first shared quickly (by the pilot I think).
Cons: After not even boarding before our departure time and then being told to deboard and wait two hours, there were several concerns. 1) The staff who handled boarding weren't articulate in the process and came off rude. 2) By the time we deboarded, all the kitchens were closed and even snack places were closing. So everyone who was now upset and hungry. 3) When it was time to board again, no announcement was made over the loud speaker, despite several of us getting confirmation that would happen when we first got off. 4) If it was my company, and I would have noticed the terminal was closing the shops and would have offered complimentary beverages to passengers during the flight. Almost everyone I talked to or overheard directly expressed their dissatisfaction with Spirit airlines and vowed they would not be using them again. An unexpected free soda would have been a cheap way for you to sway some people to give it another shot.
Cons: Customer service was absolutely terrible. I thought that the walk-up fee for luggage would be $35/45 but when it was $50 I gave a shocked expression. Which, that's fine if it was advertised that way (I'm sure it was). But when the lazy desk attendant, who was doing nothing but holding a wall up, says "I can't believe people are shocked when you tell them that, it's like come on you know." I'm fine with you saying that when I'm gone, but when people are standing right there and can hear you while you are acting like they aren't even standing there....that is when you have a customer service issue. Although I wanted to lash into him, I felt like it wasn't worth it and much below my level, and I apologize for not gathering that person's name so you may address this properly. Understandable that there are delays, but there shouldn't be a delay EVERY time that a person fly's on a certain airline. I'll try to print tickets online and it says error, but then need to have a discussion about why I am not paying $10.
