For the price, I recommend other airlines. Indigo might save a few hundred bucks but the quality of service, food selection, wait time, delays is really bad. This is like the Spirit airlines of India, if you know what I mean.
Already mentioned the didorerly check in process. The crew were not aware that I pre-booked for snacks and paid for. They said I have to pay for snacks and drinks, when I showed the crew my boarding pass they said that the system was not updated with this information. Very strange excuse..
Liked the XL seat, but didn't like the check-in process at the Delhi Airport gate 5B. Though I had paid for the priority boarding, there was mad rush at the gate and allowed whoever with might pushed in. Then at the gate we were picked up for compulsory checkin the hand baggage as the flight was full. There were any with more than 2 bags and massive cabin baggage. But they didn't dare to stop them.. Overall a very badly managed check-in process.
Check in is a mess. Be ready for a traumatic experience from the unsupportive and rude check in staffs and duty managers at Calicut airport. It’s a chaos and the lines are mostly first in last out, as they don’t care of the passenger well being or the waiting time. They are just concerned of checking in before the boarding call. Personal experience is of standing 2 hours straight just for check in. Flight is ok, food preordered are all the instant ones with hot water mix, which tastes pathetic. Overall, will never take another indigo flight to fly out of india.

Although a short regional flight, Oman Air continues to provide excellent service, and personal attention. I always find the Oman Air leg of an international flight less stressful and more personable.

There was no personal entertainment, the seat foot rest did not work — it was an old plane — the seats recline all the back to the lap of the person behind you — so when the guy in front of me was done eating he proceeded to lay back — however I wasn’t done eating — and it knocked over my glass of sparkling water —- typically even if a passenger is still eating there is still room for the person to lay back — I had to push the persons seat quickly before my whole tray was wrecked."

We had a hotel booked that cost me 350cad a night they were going to refund it. And we only had one full day to see the city before we flew out. So we were only their two nights. Worse service ever. They said since we didn't book directly through them we couldn't get a refund. I think this is worse service ever had since both airlines we booked form Kathmandu was through air india. I will never fly with them again. And I travel alot."

The air India staff at the airport assured me that my next flight (booked separately) will wait for me and that they have communicated about the delay to them. Nothing of that was done. I would have appreciated if they were honest and asked me to rush as soon as I land. It was a nightmare catching my connection. A person near my seat puked while landing in this flight. There was no sick bag in any of the seat pockets. Air hostess provided a sick bag after the flight landed which was of no use."

I am an experienced flyer and I realize that weather was not good but the plane was rattling like it should have been taken out of commission long ago. We made an emergency reroute to some city in the north and were kept on the plane for 2 hours before the crew told us anything. When we finally made it back to Delhi, the Air India workers managed to be the most incompetent and unhelpful workers ever. They lied to us 6 times about why we were not issued new boarding passes and tried to pass the blame to everyone else. I thought the customers were going to riot because they angered so many people."

Fly has been canceled 3 hours before departure. That happens after 2 delayed departures. No automatic compensation. Spicejet refused to give us compensation form. Bad service.

I understand that it creates jobs, but frankly I cannot see the added value of this procedure in terms of security... On the light side, there is a very formal notice listing people excluded from security procedures, including the President, [...] former prime ministers and their spouses (!), and .... the Dalai Lama!"

Cons: "Food is disgusting, take off was terrible (not sure if was pilot or just a super old and terrible plane). They decided to go through all of our bags again as we went up stairs to board the plane. Of my hundreds of flights I have never seen something this idiotic and redundant. Completely ridiculous to open up every single passenger’s bag before allowing them to take their seat. And this happened an hour AFTER departure time, making me and half the plane miss connecting flights. Never book through them, pay the extra to save yourself the headache. They didn’t care that they made us spend an extra $1000 to rebook international flights, just a “we understand this inconveniences you” completely ridiculous."
