Cons: Almost 2 hours of delayRead more about Copa Airlines
Cons: Almost 2 hours of delay
Pros: Crew great, seat cramped
Cons: Kept lights dark longer
Pros: Flight went well. Glad it was on time. Almost missed it due to other flight not being able to land initially
Cons: Screen malfunctioned and kept asking for language during movie
Pros: Able to have on board entertainment for a long flight on 737 craft.
Cons: Food was mediocre.
Pros: Amazing Crew.
Cons: When the flight was delayed, we would’ve like to have a better explanation of what was happening
Cons: I want to separate the flight from from the airport service. Our (4) luggage were sent on a different flight. We arrived in Guayaquil and we were told that all our luggage was sent on the flight after ours. We left the airport 3 hours later.
Pros: The hub at panama and the fast flight connection
Cons: The plane seat is not confortable for long flights. No cushion enough, able to feel the seat metal structure.
Cons: None entertainment system
Cons: Horrific experience. They overbooked the flight. I bought these tickets 4 months ago. We were forced to stay in Panama until abother flight the next day. We were split from our group. I called the travel agency, I called Copa airline to confirm. The both assured me I was good to go. They were both
Cons: They didn’t have the food choices by the time they got to me.
Cons: I did not like the chicken sandwiches or artificial eggs served on the breakfast portion. I felt sick for hours after the flight
Pros: All good. Food, friendly, on time
Cons: rude at check in, uncomfortable seats, did not get my veg meal as ordered, lost my luggage,
Pros: The cost was great, the airline crew was busy but friendly and helpful. The seat was fine and the bathroom relatively clean.
Cons: Food options were both meat: turkey or beef. There are more and more people who eat a plant based diet, something should be offered, a vegetable wrap or hummus sandwich.
Pros: All the steps were efficient and friendly from the ground to the air. The nice attention of the COPA air personnel was also appreciated
Pros: The crew was nice and attentive.
Cons: The plane seemed old and dingy. The food was not good at all.
Pros: Free headphones and movies in flight was nice. Crew was great getting everybody on board quickly.
Cons: My girlfriend and mom got sick eating after eating some of the in flight food.
Pros: Nice crew
Cons: As we had boarding passes from SFO to Panama City, we didn't think we had to check in at the gate prior to boarding. We lost the seat we had paid for and my fiance had to sit next to the toilets. We should be reimbursed for the seat we paid for.
Cons: Checking in one terminal then walked to another terminal to Board. No blankets for an international flight. Got terrible seats because I didn't web check in after I already booked the flight. I Don't understand this airline
Pros: I liked that they boarded by seats from back to front to decreased some of the build up that usually happens in the aisle.
Cons: Some of the crew were not the friendliest type I've come across.
Pros: All were good. The food, the price the flight and landing. As every where, one crew member was nasty on the flight. Side that, the counter crew did not issued me a Ticket until booked a bus out of argentina before 90 days from landing there. The funny thing is, that immigration on argentinian land told me, "you have 180 days to leave the country". So copa air do your checks before. Over all they were nice. Thank you.
Pros: Crew members and service was good
Cons: Our flight got delayed and nobody would tell us what happened, the flight was supposed to depart at 10:20 but I got an email at 1:29 pm advising about the delay.
Cons: went to the airport to checkin for my flight from lax to panama, with a connecting flight to sao paulo, only to be told that because i didn't select a seat when i bought my ticket over 2 months prior, the airlines sold my seat (they overbooked the flight by 5 people or so). i had to wait at lax for the next flight, which wasn't until 8 hours later. the problem here was that i had bought a ticket to get to rio from sao paulo, and this delay made me miss that flight. so i had to buy another ticket, which was $175. i was only compensated a $400 voucher for missing the flight and for my time. not worth it. the airlines only provide you with a blanket. no pillow.
Cons: Copa airlines lost my baggage for 6 days. I had xmas presents and all my belongings since I did not travel with a carry on. They did not communicate with my until day 5 to tell me where the bag was. It pretty much ruined my short trip that I get to have once a year with my family.
Cons: Seating is to cramped.
Cons: They did not let me on the flight that i purchased and did not reschedule me. I waited for 4 hours in the airport for them to call "panama" for me only to find out that copa left for the day without helping me. Will never book again.
Pros: Context: I paid $245 round trip from LAX to Costa Rica with one week advanced booking 39 minute layover in Panama. -Free food and snack though mediocre. If you're hungry, great! Even on connecting flight there was meal. -Modern entertainment (Touchscreen back of chair) with latest movies etc. -Service was on par. -All flights I got amazing seating (3/4 flights had an empty seat next to me.) Again, I was flying alone but there booking is up to date so I got lucky I didnt get thrown into the middle of two strangers since I didnt choose seats. -Overall a great experience, especially for the price.
Cons: -Gate got changed a couple time on return connecting flight. Not sure what the issue was but it didnt cause delay but I could see this being stressful if in a bigger group with kids etc.
Pros: Excelente !10.0 un placer viajar con Copa
Pros: Crew was friendly
Cons: Long delay living PTY
Cons: Poor customer service. I felt discriminated and extorted.
Pros: it was nice to actually get a meal. that doesnt happen in the us anymore. i was able to check a bag without a ridiculous $50 charge. the first time i had checked in years and it was very convenient. reminded me of how flying used to be before they all became buses in the sky, and for a very reasonable price. the staff were all very friendly from the gate agent to the flight attendants. also, a free drink is a lovely touch. would definitely fly this airline again.
Cons: i had no problems honestly. my most pleasant flightin a while and i fly frequently
Pros: The flight was on time with no issues
Cons: The seats. The fact that you do not allow to select seats ahead of time.
Pros: This was my first time flying with Copa Airlines. I would definitely use them in the future based on my experience. We flew on two, brand new planes on both flights. The in-flight food was of good quality, particularly for airline food. Staff was helpful, and everything from check-in to when we deboarded in our final destination was seamless.
Cons: me cambiaron la salida de la hora indicada , yo sabia a las 11:30pm y cuando llegue al aeropuerto me dijeron que habian adelantado el vuelo a las 9:30pm sin previo aviso
Cons: On my return flight home, they wouldn't accommodate adjusting my itinerary because I wasn't feeling well. I was willing to pay change fee for 1 layover instead of the 2 layovers on my original itinerary. They wanted to charge me $700 which was greater than my original ticket. So I flew on the original itinerary at started my travels @ 7am on Monday. Flight from Bogotá to Barranquilla w/Avianca airlines was great. In Barranquilla I had a 4 hr layover, checked in w/Copa agent and he said my bag was on plane. In Panama, there was a 1.5 hr layover so I assumed no issues getting my luggage to the correct connection. The flight from Panama was delayed by 40 mins w/no explanation. We just sat on plane. They only played one older movie, plane was old and they did 1 beverage service w/meal for a 5.5 hour flight. I finally arrived back to ORD @ 12:15 am Tuesday. I waited for my luggage in baggage claim for 35 mins. It doesn't arrive and I ask attendant, who brushes me off and says this is the claim for Copa. She disappears for 30-40 mins. I finally see her walking back into international baggage claim (over an hour has passed that I've been in baggage claim) and tell her my luggage did not arrive. She asks me for my claim ticket then proceeds to say "oh yes, I was informed your bag did not make it." I'm upset because it's 1:40am and she could have saved me an hour if she would have helped me when I first asked. I also am curious how an airline loses my bag twice.
Cons: Cabin crew based in South American countries don't speak a word of English.
Pros: ONE ground staff was nice at check in. Otherwise their staff is not friendly
Pros: Good food
Pros: Food was good. Comfortable seats
Cons: The staff seemed like would rather anywhere else in the world except checking in people. You might as well invest in kiosks and have those replace the people. It would be way more efficient and probably a higher customer service rating
Pros: When they booked me on another airline after making me wait 36 hours and finally admitting it was their mistake they inadvertently cancelled my reservation.
Cons: They intolerant, unprofessional, they overbook flights and blame the passenger, they don't help you when this happens, they cancelled my booking and tried to blame me, they act as if they have a right to treat a customer like garbage. Don't EVER book a flight with this company. If you do you are taking a huge risk.
Pros: I flew executive class. The staff was very friendly and professional on the ground and on the air. seats are comfortable and there's a lot of storage space. The plane left on time and entertainment option aboard is great. What I did not like is that being seated in row 3, for four flights, I never got to eat the meal I wanted. It's seems the option always dies in row 2, just after less than half of the passengers flying executive class have ordered they meal. The rest was great and I would fly copa again!
Cons: I had to wait over an hour in line for a boarding pass for my copa flights.
Pros: Total failure deception! I was denied access to the flight because of going into Peru they said I had to have a round-trip ticket and Copa would not let me on board. I was told this and after standing in line for over an hour waiting to check in at almost midnight in LAX. I spent hours on line I spent hours on the phone trying to recoup the situation. they wanted to charge me $325 to make changes plus other expenses of the airfare. I missed important connections in Peru. I am applying for a retirement visa there I should've been allowed to deal with immigration in Peru . However if it is the regulation of that airline that I'm not allowed in there without a round-trip ticket why did kayak sell it to me? Kayak cost me $539 and change not to mention a week and a half late getting to Peru! Customer service was just pretty much ridiculous I spent a lot of time on hold so somebody could go ask somebody who Ask somebody else a question. I could understand no refund however that was just downright not fair kayak and Copa airline basically screwed me over.
Cons: See the above
Pros: I was so grateful for the upgrade! I injured my back two days before I was scheduled to fly out and having roomier seats that reclined and lots of water to drink really helped. I am SO grateful.
Pros: Had movies and tv shows for free
Cons: This is the letter I wrote to the airline My sister in law and I rode your airline for the first time on July 2, 2016 to fly to Bogota from the United States. We first couldn't download our boarding passes on our phones so we were forced to wait for 1.5 hrs in line. (45 min of that which had no one behind the desk working and hundreds of people just standing in lines.) Finally after we checked in we went to the gate and we saw on our tickets that she and I were not sitting together even though I booked the flights for us together and chose our seats to be right next to each other months in advance. I went to the guy at the counter and he said that "it's a full flight, nothing they could do and you will just have to write a letter." My sister is diabetic and needs insulin medicine and to check her blood sugar and since we were unable to sit next to each other we were forced to go do this in the bathroom. Not only that, but to be on a 7 hr flight not sitting with each other when we were supposed to be is very unprofessional. The whole ordeal didn't bode well for your future repeat business of your passengers. Just very unhappy all around regarding using Copa Airlines.
Cons: Cabin was hot, could not sleep, no lounge in LA and very long waiting lines at check in
Pros: The food and free movies.
Cons: The seats don’t recline and they are uncomfortable. Very little space.
Cons: Well, they broke my luggage when I check in ,everything when wrong since then, talked to 3 agents nobody could help
Pros: Crew rude
Cons: Bad service
Pros: The short trip.
Cons: The loud passengers
Pros: Horrible had to stay the night in the airport
Cons: Horrible. Maybe if the plane actually showed up. Messed up my entire weekend
Pros: I don’t like how i bought a soda and some chips and it came to 50$ I’m not understanding that at all
Cons: Don’t overcharge my card
Cons: Practice social distance
Pros: Exit row
Cons: Baggage price
Cons: No social distancing at all on spirit airlines when boarding, people right behind each other.
Cons: The check in staff. Had No sympathy that I had to leave my things because I was not charged the 1st time I went. But I. The way back u was getting charged I had the same bags as the 1st flight. Then 1 of my kids mask broke and I had no card mask should be giving out if a person is not weak g one. I am very unhappy with spirit
Pros: The crew were the highlight of the trip.
Cons: Spirit Airlines required a return-flight from Colombia prior to allowing me to board, even though I will not be returning for many months (or perhaps even years). I purchased a return flight just so I could board the plane and not lose my flight. Upon arrival to Colombia, (review reached word-limit)
Pros: Not much besides the Flight crew was kind.
Cons: Spirit airlines charges you money for water!!! For water!!! I was on a four and a half hour flight from LA to CLE, and didn’t bring my credit cards or a bottle of water with me. I could t get a bottle of water because they charge for them. How is that even legal? I sat thirsty considering drinking the water from the airplane lavatory. Beyond that the seats don’t recline and you get nickle and dined for everything. I would never fly this airline if I didn’t need to travel to CLE where they appear to be one of if not the most dominate airline.
Pros: No one ended up sitting next to me.
Cons: You have to pay for any beverage, including water. This was a 5 hour flight. I don’t know anyone that would think a free glass of water should be optional and therefore considered a la carte. There was no water in the bathroom to wash my hands. Got stuck behind the beverage cart and flight attendant had a nasty look on her face. Chairs don’t recline and I had to pay $50 to check my carry-on bag in because I didn’t read the fine print or visit their website after booking so although it seemed like the cheaper option I probably ended up paying the same amount or more. I wouldn’t recommend this airline if you want to fly comfortably.
Cons: VERY unclear baggage rules - meaning I paid $100 extra for a checked bag after booking, and then also unnecessarily paid an extra $55 for a backpack at the airport because there was not notification on-screen that it was allowed as a personal bag. I then could not get a refund at the baggage counter because they don't do transactions. I am now trying to work out how to get a refund from Australia. I would have been better off taking any other airline and it would have been cheaper than these extra fees. I am so disappointed.
Pros: Nothing, never got on the plane.
Cons: I was stuck in traffic before the flight and arrived approximately 50min before the flight. By the time I finished fighting with the self check-in machine and talked to a person, it was about 45min before the flight and I was told I was too late and the plane had already boarded and was full. I asked if I could get on the next flight, but I was told the next flight from LAX to Oakland wasn't until 7AM the next morning. I wound up having to buy a last-minute, one-way ticket on American Airlines just to get where I was going. The man at the counter was very rude and dismissive about the whole thing.
Pros: Flight departed early and landed almost 40 minutes early. Good service. Nice crew. I paid extra for the big First seat.
Cons: Still no frills. No internet. No power for your computer. No reclining seats.
Pros: No delays. Boarding was efficient but not much else. Very basic.
Cons: I wanted to bring a bag as hand luggage and had to pay $46 each way. I've flown loads and this is the first airline who has charged for carry on.
Pros: flight attendant was nice, but...
Cons: The flight attendant said that i was sick and they escorted me off the plane after i ran to it from check in counter because they were boarding already. I ate literally in the car before i got to the air port, so check in told me to run to make it. the tsa knew i asked people if i can jump ahead in line and they said yes, they all knew i was in a hurry, the boarding door guy knew that i was out of breath and i told him i was out of shape, so dont mind me. I was one of the last people to sit down. So after 15 minutes of me cooling down, and after the flight attendant gave me water, napkins, and an ice pack, then i felt nauseous and i threw up in the bathroom. I felt much better because it was the food that i just ate right before i did all the running. I told them that this is what happened, and as you can see i am sweaty and was in a hurry to make it here. they said for my safety that i need to get off the plane to be examined. I literary purged the full stomach i had after running from one end of the air port to the other. It has been told to most people that you must let your food digest before doing physical activity. I am out of shape and that run over exerted my body. So they had me removed off the plane, after i desperately attempted to make the flight before they stopped boarding, which i did, and I got taken off. Rude.
Pros: Crew were polite and efficient
Cons: The extremely high cost to check a bag, almost double very other airline!
Cons: never again
Pros: Landing safely.
Cons: I booked a flight for Friday night red-eye just for it to be delayed by 2 hours & eventually canceled. Due to this cancellation I missed my brothers graduation ceremony that was scheduled for the next day. When I first called they told me the next available flight was in three days. I spoke to someone else who then told me 24 hours was the earliest flight. I took that with no type of credit offered for my major inconvenience. The re-scheduled flight was also delayed by 2.5 hours the following day. Needless to say, I will NEVER be flying spirit again.
Cons: I had to pay more to check my luggage than I did for my ticket. I've never been in a flight where I had to pay for my Cary on. $59...not even like a standard $25 for 1 check luggage. The. I had to pay another $59 for my checked luggage. Also standard weight is 50 lbs. my suitcase was 54. I could've move things around however spirits weight was 40 lbs. so I got to pay $55 for over weight. I am so distraught because I was excited to check out Spirit but knowing what is standard for other airlines at no point did I receive any information on any of these charges previous. I also had to weight in line for 40 mins. Have never been to a gate that stopped accepting luggage 45 mins. Prior. And I would've checked 45 mins. Prior had they only had 2 people checking in and on em dealing with a patron for 15 mins. Before finally get another person to start checking people in. The flight was so cold that my face was freezing and I think I'll stop there. My disappointment is at an all time low. Only bonus was being switch to a new flight that left 30 minutes later. Also your app doesn't work properly. When it asks me to pick how I rate... there are no words that show up when the pop up with five choices pops up.
Pros: That the plane actually landed.
Cons: 2 hours late and 5 different gates. The funny part was kayaks notifications of gate changes were faster than Spirits Crew. When I asked if the new information was correct she gave me attitude. Then 10 minutes later reported the new gate that Kayak had already determined. That was just boarding. Paid for the more comfortable/spacious seating which was nice but useless when coupled with seats that do not recline whatsoever. Painful and slightly torturous. Don't fly them you'll save money by choosing someone else. $ to pick seat $ to bring a carry on...those who didn't know that paid somethingnlike $65 at the gate. The worst. Never again.
Pros: Refunded my ticket with no issues
Cons: First, they cancelled my 8am flight at 10pm the night before with no notification. I happened to see it and call to rebook on the next flight, but if I hadn't been checking the flight status I'm not sure what would have happened when I got to the airport. Then, the 10am rebooked flight was delayed for over 2 hours - with basically no communication from the gate agents and no updates to the expected departure time. Ended up getting a refund and rebooking on Southwest - which was a perfectly smooth experience, huge contrast to the clusterf*** of flying Spirit.
Cons: When buy through kayak link it takes you to the spirit page, where there's no spot to put in get TSA Precheck. When do all through phone, the boarding pass on the screen doesn't actually scan - only airline in the world where you still need a paper copy. After 50 mins in security line, the phone bar code didn't scan (can't use phone for spirit). Had to leave to get a paper boarding pass. Missed flight. I fly at least once a week every week. Have never missed a flight in my life (probably bc I had never flown with spirit before). Missed this flight! No refund, no airline credit (even if I got the airline credit I would let it expire to avoid flying with them again). Literally worst user experience I've ever had with an airline.
Pros: Crew onboard were great, helpful, smiling and accommodating.
Cons: Spirit Gate crew at LAX were terrible, rude, and condescending. I brought a "personal item" which is a laptop case with wheels and I was pulled out of line and marched to the gate desk where I was informed that it was too large to be a personal item and that I had to pay $100 to bring it on the plane. I said that I had been using this particular laptop case for years on multiple airlines and then fit it into the test receptacle provided but still had to pay the $100. I asked why not charge me the $40 for a carry-on and was told that was online only and that it's $100 at the gate. I have the Spirit credit card and mileage program, but did not feel like "a member of the Spirit family" and was ripped off.
Pros: See above
Pros: Cheap flights.
Cons: We were told our flight was downgraded and that 35 passengers needed to switch thier flight as there was no seats available. We had a group of 5 people and 2 did not have seats. So we volunteered to switch our flights as we were told we would leave the following day at the same time all together, get a hotel for the night, food vouchers and 2 free round trip flights. So when they were switching our flights they booked 3 out of the 5 who volunteered and they told us we could not be on the same flight. Eventually they got us all on the same flight but that was 4 or 5 hours later. In regards to the food vouchers we were informed we could only use them in the airport but we were not allowed pass tsa as we did not have boarding passes. We then asked about our luggage as we had checked them in when we first arrived and they informed us they pulled them out of the flight and they were going to be at luggage claim. When we tried to get our luggage at baggage claim we were then informed that no luggages were pulled and they were already in transit to chicago. So the supervision told us that we could buy whatever items we needed for the night and we would get reimbursed later, which keep in mind we had to take a taxi from the hotel to a target near by. This whole process was ridiculous and it seemed as if no one was able to provide us with accurate information. Had we known it was going to be such a hassel and inconvenience to ourselves we would have never given up our seats to begin with. Pedro was the name of the person at the gate who informed us we would have a flight all together and that was false in which carlos had told him. Rosario at check in was patient and helped the most but she informed us our luggage was going to be available for us and that was false. Zachary manning Katona was very unprofessional and rude to us as well as his coworkers. And edier the supervisor informed us we will get a reimbursement for the items we buy since our luggage was shipped back to chicago, so lets see if thats true or false when the time comes.
Pros: That was the most turbulent flight I have ever been on, even in a small aircraft. When we were landing in MSP we encountered severe winds and the pilot had to make and abort 2 landing attempts. On the third attempt we were able to land. I've never been on an airplane where so many people were throwing up before! The pilot handled the difficult winds, and massive snowstorm perfectly and I absolutely can't thank him enough. I can't believe we didn't get diverted to Chicago or crash. The flight attendants and other crew are in very good spirits considering the airline they are working for.
Cons: Spirit s luggage weight allowance is 10 pound less than the other airlines. That makes it difficult to pack winter clothing and boots. Their baggage fees are also higher than other airlines, but you can carry less! The "bare fare" is incredibly annoying, they even charge you for water on the airplane. There is no food available, or maybe one small snack. The seats are so small. I'm 5 feet 4 inches tall and weigh 120 pounds and I feel uncomfortable I can't imagine what a tall or average sized person goes through. The seats are so incredibly hard like you are sitting on a wooden bench. This is one of those cases where you really get what you pay for - a low price comes with a lot of discomfort and frustration. I would never fly on this airline on a flight over 4 hours. The suffering would not be worth saving money. The staff does their best to treat you kindly but you can plainly see they are dealing with difficult circumstances and being pushed to their breaking point. They have to deal with so many miserable, uncomfortable people. I feel bad for them.
Cons: Had never flown Spirit before. First AND LAST experience. Don't care that they call themselves no frills. Their customer service is pathetic. Had to wait at the airport for 25 minutes for any Spirit employee to show up at the ticket counter to check my bag. By that time there were about 50 people waiting for help. Even other airline employees and TSA employees didn't know why they weren't there. Also called customer service to have my KTN (pre-check #) added because I couldn't put it in when I booked the flight. Even though he told me he would put it in- he didn't. So NO precheck for me. The seats in the plane are beyond uncomfortable. Like sitting on a hard straight chair -no padding. Charging for carry ons? Really? Checking my bag was cheaper than carrying it on and it's a SMALL suitcase seriously. Do NOT be fooled by the low prices listed. They are deceiving!!! Just trying to give a real review here folks. Not being overly dramatic.
Pros: That there was a Virgin Loft flight club in the terminal, only used it because of the Spirit delay
Cons: Front counter is rude. I don't know if they just had a front counter person having a bad day but I've never experienced that with any airline. Then there was a flight delay of a minimum 2 hours due to a bad windshield? Great keep us safe, but good luck with finding someone at the gate or a service counter to give you an explanation of why it's delayed. Instead just wander aimlessly around the terminal looking for a Spirit employee. I then went to the Spirit website and it shows the flight as "on time", really?? At least give me an app or website that's accurate so I don't have to sit in front of the gate for 2 hours. When booking through Kayak there is no mention of pre-purchasing checked baggage so I was stuck with a $50 fee at the ticket counter! This is definitely not the "low price" airline unless you truly "travel naked". Save yourself some grief and ignore Spirit as a flight option.
Pros: I got to my destinations safely.
Cons: You don't actually save money with this airline, which is something I had to learn the hard way apparently. You could hardly understand the pilot when he made announcements and the crew wasn't exactly rude, but definitely weren't kind and warm either. The man next to me pushed his button for someone to assist him and asked that they throw his trash away (not cool on the man's part, I'll admit that, because the crew was doing walk-throughs for trash every 5 minutes it seemed). But, the passenger next to me did not deserve the passive aggressive help he received. The seats are uncomfortable and don't seem worth the money/weight they must have saved. While I admire the mission to save fuel, I think the cons outweigh the pros of this airline. I'll happily return to Southwest or Virgin.
Pros: Let me start by saying that the entire purpose of Spirit is to be significantly cheaper than other airlines and at that, they have succeeded. We saved nearly $300 for two people round trip. That said, you have to read their policies before booking to fly with them as they do charge you for any baggage beyond a small backpack/purse. We planned accordingly and it worked just fine. Because they are cheaper, they also provide no movies or entertainment of any kind and no food/beverage provided. They are available for purchase on the flight or you could just again, plan accordingly and pack your own snacks and drinks before you board the flight. Many complaints about them having frequent delays. But we were fortunate enough to not have any of these on our outgoing and return flights. Flight attendance were friendly and courteous.
Cons: They are cheap so they have the cheapest feeling cabins of any airline I've flown in the US. No reclining. Not much leg room. And not much of a tray table. For a 5 hour flight across the US it was a bit uncomfortable. I probably wouldn't book them again for a flight of the duration but it would be more than fine for a 2-3 hour flight considering the cost. Flight attendance were pushing the airlines credit card at the end of the flight.
Pros: Only their initial "SUCKER PRICE" that does NOT include any luggage or the ability to sit with your family without paying extra!!!
Cons: They use an initial "SUCKER PRICE" which does NOT include ANY LUGGAGE or the ability to SIT WITH YOUR FAMILY without paying extra!! $50 extra for each piece of luggage ... EACH WAY1 If you don't pay at the check in counter they charge $100 for each piece of luggage - each way and that includes ANY BACKPACK WITH WHEELS! $25 FOR EACH FAMILY MEMBER TO SIT TOGETHER!!!! NO COMPLIMENTARY FOOD OR DRINK. 2 sodas are $5! (can't buy just one) NO none zero entertainment, not even a radio channel.
Pros: The only part about this flight experience I enjoyed was the clever way the flight attendants did their introduction/safety announcement before takeoff.
Cons: I waited in line to check in for 1.5 hours where they then told me I was too late and asked me to sign a piece of paper without at all explaining to me that my bag would have to go on the next flight. I am lucky I asked first because they had to make a special call for me since I couldn't wait at the airport for it at my destination. If I did not ask I would have been completely screwed up! I then waited in security for 45 minutes. My flight got delayed about 3.5 hours Total before actually taking off. I flew from LAX to PHX. I will never in a million years ever fly spirit airlines again.
Pros: Nothing. I really wish I would have read spirit's reviews before booking with them.
Cons: I booked a round trip flight through spirit from July 2nd to July 4th for a friend's wedding. Found out the night before my flight that it was cancelled due to "mechanical failure." Since it was on a holiday weekend, all of spirit's other flights for the day were full and customer service (which is also terrible) would not put me on another airline. They offered a refund, which I accepted and have yet to receive, but I had to fork out another $120 to get another last minute flight. And of course they did not offer to cover the extra cost. Tl;dr - booked a flight with spirit because it was cheap and ended up almost missing my friend's wedding because my flight was cancelled.
Cons: Flight was cancelled under for 4 prior to takeoff. Spirit showed a direct flight same day online at 9PM from LAX to Chicago but when I called to confirm they said it was not available to me and put me on a 6 hour layover flight to MN. I asked for a hotel since I was spending the night in MN which I had not planned for and they denied that. I asked to use my $50 voucher they fought to provide me for a cancellation inconvenience for an in flight water and they said they only accept credit cards. I'm stuck in MN for the night with nothing to eat drink or anywhere to sleep cause of the late cancellation notice which they claimed was a mechanical error. I'm pissed I want my money refunded.
Pros: The flight was cancelled dye to "unexpected weather iin Colorado" however after talking to a different airline and also a friend who flew to CO, I know it was bullshit. The weather in CO was perfect an my flight was canceled because Spirit airlines couldnt fill the flight. That is NOT MY PROBLEM and I shouldn't suffer for this. I do a lot of travel and have NEVER has a canceled flight. I used to fly between PHX and LA frequently and have been on next to empty flights but I have never been held responsible for the airlines inability to get business. I will NEVER book a flight through Spirit EVER again!!

Pros: I liked that the plane was structurally sound and well built and that the pilots knew what they were doing - it went up, flew and landed! SUCCESS!!
Cons: I remember when SOUTHWEST came onto the scene, people said "It's a cattle call airlines". Well, there's a new leader in budget flying - seats don't recline, if you are over 6'2" your femur will barely fit in the seat space between rows, $3 for anything to drink, and because it is cheap (least expensive) it has all the personalities/characters 'least expensive' will attract. . . and heck, I was one of them! People are great, but when we are crammed into spaces, our egos and inner-judges get all ramped up, and there were plenty of these moments. Nice, friendly airline crew, from front counter to attendants, which also comes with the lack of experience and polish of veteran airline employees. In the future I will ony fly Spirit when I am country hopping and need the least expensive series of flights to get from point A to point B to Point C, and SPIRIT was a leg in that journey. Fly safe and kind everyone! CT
Cons: On my departing flight I was delayed right off the bat for 2 hours. Then after that we sat on the tarmac for 2 hours and then deboarded and delayed another 3 hours. The staff was very unhelpful and I paid $28 for a seat upgrade which was not even fulfilled because I requested an aisle seat and got a window seat. The staff was also very rude and told me this why hispanic people have a sterotype. On my arriving flight I was double charged for my carrying on and backpack. I was told that I would need to pay for both but when I went into the gate that was not the case and I saw that my backpack met specifications to not be charged. When I paid the fee the attendant took money out from her brasserie to give me change and then pocketed the cash and when I asked for a reciet she said the computer system was down and on my boarding ticket it did not have that I paid for a carry on so I was given a hard time at the gate. When I explained what happened they said okay as if this shady stuff is acceptable. I was then delayed in the air for 2 hours and rerouted to detroit to get gas. We were told to hold tight and not allowed to use the restroom for an hour to then be told we had to deboard for an addtional 2 hours. This is horrible and I will continue to speak with someone until I get a refund.
Pros: Really??? I guess I liked the fact that we arrived safely but that is it.
Cons: EVERYTHING!! This airline has done everything wrong in an attempt to cut costs. The flights were very cramped. The seats were extremely uncomfortable. There were flight attendants but really no reason as there were no services they provided. There were extra hidden fees for everything from selecting your seat to printing your boarding pass (apparently this costs the airline $10 per boarding pass). The flights didn't arrive on time, we were waiting nearly an hour for our checked baggage which we were coerced into purchasing due to the limited size available for carryon (i.e.a small purse or brief case). I will NEVER spend another dime with this company and highly suggest you consider all other options before selecting this airline.
Cons: My flight to LA was delayed by a systems crash, we spent 2-1/2 hours at the gate before departing. My return flight wagon time and I was looking forward to a relatively comfortable flight home, as i'd paid extra for an exit row seat on the aisle. instead, the person who sat next to me man-spreaded into my personal/seat space, shoving his shoulders into my ribs and making the 7 hour cross-country flight, exceedingly uncomfortable. When i voiced my complaints to him, he replied in an entitled and indignant fashion and redoubled his effort to invade my personal space. What's worse, is that this man was wearing a Spirit Airlines uniform and presumably, did not pay for his seat. I will never fly Spirit again.
Cons: We arrived at the airport two hours early and got to the gate right when they closed it so we missed our flight. When we asked to switch our flight the attendant said that there wasn't another for another two days and then walked away. She came back 20 minutes later and said there was nothing she could do. After about 15 minutes she changed our flight. I got in huge trouble at work because I missed my flight and couldn't afford another airline's flight home. TSA was extremely rude and the Spirit staff was extremely rude as well.
Cons: Spirit Airlines provides no services (including water), the seats and tray tables are minimal and uncomfortable, and the seats do not recline. The ground staff are so tired of repeating the same company negative replies to incredulous passengers ("$100 to bring on a carry-on?") that they come across as unaccommodating and surly. My return flight attempt to prepay for our luggage on the website ($40 per bag rather then $50 at the kiosk) took over 40 minutes including having to join the Spirit Airlines club which I have absolutely no intention of ever using again. Read the fine print on luggage weight, extra charges, one personal item before you think this airline is a "deal."
Pros: Arriving safely at my destination
Cons: No literature, no amenities, crowded seats that don't recline, getting nickel and dimed by attendants like carnival barkers for water, sitting next to dehydrated and furious people that just had to pay $55 to bring a carry-on which offset any savings they thought they were getting by flying Spirit, and a patronizing ad campaign that tries to get you excited to be miserable. "[Amenities] just weigh us down." It said something like that on the print out. I feel like not distributing water as a safety precaution in a pressurized atmosphere for a 5.5 hour flight is just begging for a catastrophe because a passenger couldn't whip out his MasterCard quick enough to stay hydrated.
Cons: Unfortunately, I should have asked around in advance: everything is add-on in cost, so there are prices for an additional carry-on and a steep price for checked luggage. Beverages and the like are also an extra charge, as is choosing your own seat (which, if you are traveling with a family, is just ridiculous). The seating is hugely tight (if you want to pick your seats, it's $10 for each and $25 for any imaginably decent leg room--I say this as a very short person; anyone of average height would be miserable).
Cons: This was one of the worst flight experiences of my entire life. I had to pay almost $200 in extra fees, which included everything from checked bags, carry on bags AND seat selection. Their website is awful! It took me over 2 hours plus 2 customer service phone calls before I was able to check in for my flight. Completely disorganized at the airport. Under staffed. We arrived 2 hours early and barely made our flight. We were in lines so long we barely had time to use the restroom, let alone find any kind of food for the flight. Upon boarding, I witnessed one of the flight attendants being extremely rude and hostile to a female customer who was talking to her friend about how bad her Spirit experience was. A supervisor came back and instead of reprimanding the rude flight attendant, she told all of us that if the flight attendant didn't feel "comfortable" with any of us, we would be "removed" from the flight! The flight was delayed because they closed the cabin doors before 10 additional customers were able to make it through their ridiculous lines. Instead of apologizing for their incompetence, they blamed the customers for being late, despite the fact that at least one of them initially arrived at the same time we did (2 hours before the flight)! Oh and the flight itself was rickety as hell with screaming babies everywhere. I'm absolutely DREADING the return flight home. This is the worst airline ever and should be shut down as soon as possible.
Cons: they nickel and dime you for literally EVERYTHING. you think you are saving money purchasing a cheap ticket but once you add in your suitcase and God for bid a soda or coffe while on the plane you're at double the cost of the original ticket price. I know they warn you of the small amount of space but my knees were jammed to the chair in front of me, I'm 5'8, so not like I am abnormally tall. it was just a bad enough experience all around that I would advise no one to take the airlines, especially for a long routed trip!
Pros: The customer service when I needed to change my flight date was excellent. The women that helped me were top notch.
Cons: I was not aware that they were going to charge extra for EVERYTHING. Where other airlines give you (at the very least) free water, sometimes soda and a small snack, Spirit wanted $3 for a small bottle of water! $4 for a muffin?! Good grief! I get it, airlines up-charge you for everything, but I was not aware ahead of time that I'd be spending MORE money on top of the fare. They were not upfront about this, at all. Also - adding an extra fee just to pick your seat a few minutes early is ludicrous. Anywhere from $11-99 just so you can make sure you have a seat you want (depending on location)! And that's not choosing the seat when you purchase your ticket, that's choosing your seat the day of the flight, once you're at the airport or stressing over making sure you get to the airport the day of, on time. Yay, more stress, just what I wanted to start my vacation with! Speaking of seats - THEY DON'T RECLINE! The comfort level while sitting on 4 and 5 hour flights was next to none (I can't imagine the flights longer than that...I'd have lost my mind). You're sitting nearly straight up on an overnight flight - be sure to bring extra pillows, cause you're gonna want to pile them up in your lap just to try to get a little bit of a nap. I get that you won't get the most comfy sleep when you're on a plane, but I'm gonna need a chiro visit just to get this kink out of my neck. :( To top it all off, not every seat has a tray table. If you're "lucky" enough (or pay...) to get to have a few inches of extra foot room from sitting behind one of the only 4 reclining seats on the plane (the $99 seats), you'll be holding anything you want to drink or eat in your lap. Sucks for you, but you don't get a tray table! This was my first flight with Spirit, because I liked the idea of spending $100 less than the rest of my usual airline. But, I think it's pretty obvious at this point, I will do everything I can to avoid flying with Spirit in the future. TL;DR Hidden costs for EVERYTHING! Seats, water, peanuts....ridiculous. Comfort level is next to none. If I have a choice, I will avoid flying with Spirit again.
Pros: Staff were very pleasant.
Cons: My issue is with the purchase of my flight and the failure of your website to make the need or lack of need to purchase additional items. I purchased through orbitz and was not allowed at that time to advise of my need for wheelchair assistance or pick a seat. I got on your website and ended up purchasing an aisle seat to accomodate my disabilty and paid to bring on a carry on bag. The bill indicated i was charged twice so i had to call when i was informed i did not have to pay for a seat and i did have to pay for tge caary on. I could not figure out your system and most likely will not fly on your plane again because of that fact. I paid an extra 45 to accomodate a disability which is unsettling but more a problem when you cannot figure out the additioal charges until it is too late to cancel them. Then, on a plane that was not full, they gave my seat to another passenger which t ook quige sometime to fix
