Pros: "I was in first class this time. The seat was comfortable for the flight of roughly 2-1/2 hours. We were served a continental breakfast that was filling and healthy with cereal, fresh fruit, Brie, soft crackers and yogurt. I'd rather have something simple but satisfying than something overcomplicated and possibly not that good. The crew was polite and efficient. I did have to use the lavatory at one point and I was happy that it was clean."

Hebgave me the option to flight the next day or flight the same day, and after a 2 hour delay flight to Charlotte where I would be provided a hotel room and a meal for the night. I asked several times if that information was confirmed and he repeatedly said yes. At my arrival at Charlotte Airport (near midnight) every AA employee said that they did NOT have any more hotels. It was obvious that everything was a staged lie since over 100 people had to spend the night in one of the the terminals where we were provided a pillow and a blanket. I am terribly disappointed for the lack of transparency in AA. I was told my some friends that they also have had experiences like that at the same Charlotte Airport. You have damage once again your reputation and from no own in will expect THE WORST from AA."

The 1250pm flight was delayed to 6pm due to weather even though several other flights were flying that same route at that time. Then the 6pm flight was cancelled due to weather. It was the lack of professionalism, accommodations and communications that followed that were horrendous. They would not address the group directly so we had to find out from the people at the front of the line trying to rebook that there were no seats available until Saturday and Sunday. It was Weds. They were not going to accommodate us in any way with the exception of refunding us for that leg. In my case that would have been a little over $100. Flights on other airlines were over $700. Families who could not afford that cancelled their vacations to St. Thomas. People, like myself, that were simply trying to get home got booked on Sunday flights. They put us on stand by but were unwilling to give us seats that were available. Finally, on Friday with making enough fuss and talking to the right people they reluctantly gave us seats. It appeared that because we had seats on Sunday that we were in no way a priority. Very disappointed, mostly for everyone who was trying to visit my island and said they will never come here. Thanks Spirits."

When she told us that the baggage fees would be almost $400 for the two of us, I said "You are insane." and we rented a car and drove 15 hours instead... with car rental and gas and hotel, we still spent less than the baggage fees! When I called Spirit to complain. I was told that the gate agent was trying to overcharge us, but that there was nothing that could be done. They would not refund the cost of the tickets (Only $144) or offer any travel credit. I will never use Spirit Air"
Cons: "I did not like the fact that my original flight from St Thomas to Ft Lauderdale was cancelled. Which essentially changed all of my travel plans. I do however understand that Spirit is a sub par airline. Therefore, I will no longer book any flights through them."
Cons: "This flight was cancelled, Spirit was unable/unwilling to book me on a flight on a different airline and I had to pay $344 out of pocket for a Jet Blue flight the next day. This was on Thursday, Spirit offered to get me to my destination on SUNDAY! They also did not pay for my hotel room so I had to pay for that out of pocket as well. Will never fly Spirit again. Spend the extra money and go with someone else - you'll probably end up having to spend it anyway!"

At the check in while paying this ridiculous $55 one way for my clothes... Suddenly my card is declined. I ask the woman who is "helping" me to swipe it again because it should not be declining... She refuses and I have to take $60 over to a little machine and purchase a master card that's owned by the airline for ANOTHER $5 dollar fee! Want to fly spirit? Don't bother. $88 for a round trip from Las Vegas to San Diego. Altogether $115 just to fly my 1 carry on. Was not planning on spending over $200 for this trip and anyone who is on a budget can appreciate the difference every dollar makes. BRING ONE BAG FOR UNDER YOUR SEAT AND NOTHING ELSE!"
