Also on my AA portion of my flight coming into The U S in New York the flight was cancelled and I was told the next flight Available was next day (18hr delay) at the other NY airport. When call for customer service you can't even get a human representative. I missed my flight and they didn't even have another flight to to accommodate me to get to my destination and no one at the front desk to talk to."

The screen on my iPhone is bigger than the screen on the seatback which if compared to other airlines is not up to the mark. The lack of facilities to charge things like ipads or iPhone was disappointing."

No one told me why. I had to insist on an explanation to the airline staff, and realized there was a mistake - they thought I had not gone through the extra security screening before going to the passport check counter, but I had. This created extra stress and delay for me, as this took place when boarding had started. Respectfully, I suggest that staff is more communicative."

United said they would not cover the cost of transportation to a hotel or the cost of the hotel. In addition, my luggage was misplaced and sent to Madison and could not be located. The number United provided to me to check on the whereabouts of my bag no one ever answered, even though I called multiple, multiple times."
Cons: "Flight delayed 5 hours until 2am then about to take off and while on the runway I receive the text "Your flight to Chicago (UA1282) is canceled due to required crew rest" then they didn't have enough crew to unload the bags from the plane so I was without a bag containing all my medication. They rebooked me on a flight with a 2 hour layover when I had a direct flight before. Didn't give me any food or travel vouchers and now I missed MY OWN BRIDAL SHOWER! Very VERY unhappy."
Cons: "My husband, sister, brother-in-law and myself flew into STL. We thought we had booked the same flight but when we got there found out our departure flight was different. We asked about moving them to our floght but it was over booked so we asked if we could move to there flight. They had 15 open seats. They told us no. There would be a charge of 500 dollars if we wanted to change. We decided to just fly out first and meet them there. We stood by the counter to speak about meeting. As we did we could hear them telling the next couple that they would have to move to the later flight. It was a huge problem for them as they would miss there connection. We then offered again to take the later flight so they could take our place on the over booked flight and make there connection. They where unwilling. Then we get on the flight and the plane was nasty and dirty. We put out tray table down and there was drink and dirt all over it. When asked if they could be cleaned we got an attitude. They never came back to do it. Luckily I had a wet wipe to do it. The plan smelled like urine. Same was true for our return flight. The plane was very old and not taken care of. This is not the first problem is we have had with United. We will not be flying with them any longer."

"I caught the COVID19 virus. Had to cancel. Frontier charged an $80 cancellation fee per ticket. Could not have been worse! Everywhere else I have flown in the last 30 days (even with non-refundable tickets) gave a full change or voucher. HD8IPQ is my reference code."
"The only thing I liked was the care of the flight crew. One of us is a disabled passenger and they didn't give special consideration for someone who is disabled and couldn't walk to the gate nor to the seat. Our seats were in the REAR of the plane. That's no place for a disabled person. Not even a window seat. Lack of communication to the special service assistants for a request of an aisle wheelchair to get to the seat. The flight was delayed and we were sitting in the plane for over an hour to wait to exit the plane. We were informed there was lack of staff at Orlando International Airport for Frontier Airlines, and we had to wait for other staff to come from another gate to get us off the plane and get bags to baggage claim. We were waiting in Baggage Claim to retrieve our bags for over 30 minutes."

I had a good amount of room in my seat (I was not in an emergency exit row) and I had no problems with my luggage."
Cons: "There was a 2 hour delay to take off. When your flight is at 7am and you've woken up at 3:30 or 4 to get to the airport on time, it's a bit frustrating to wait an extra 2 hours to leave. The gate agents were woefully uninformed and when they did communicate with passengers it was vague and unhelpful. The gate agents kept referring to the need for "maintenance" on the aircraft. It doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence in the soundness of the plane to hear that the maintenance crew is trying to "fix something in the cockpit." The Departures monitors and my Kayak app were giving me delay updates before the gate agents were. At one point we switched gates (it was the gate directly across from the original gate) and I watched as passengers at one gate literally traded places with passengers at another gate because the flights had swapped gates. It was comical. Overall, just a disorganized, uninformative, frustrating mess."

They told me to fill out a form & return it to them... Cons: "The tickets look like a deal until they charge for every other thing. The information regarding what bag can be carried on without a fee is very confusing. We paid and then saw people rolling cases and putting them in the overhead bin. The seat prices are ridiculous so you don't want to pay for a seat they will assign you for free, I was then told I had to go to the gate to get a seat assignment even though I had already purchased a ticket. I waited for almost an hour before someone showed up. I was told the only seats left were the exit rows. Luckily I am healthy. If I have paid for a ticket Frontier should guarantee me a seat. We had to wait in line even though we had already paid for our bags and some of us went on line and checked in and had boarding passes. Where is the short cut then?? It was so convoluted we will never fly Frontier again. Too much work, let me pay for the ticket and let me have a bag and give me a seat for crying out loud. The flight crew was great. Very nice."

Then we got loaded up and had to wait for the east gate to open, then they had to map out another plan I.e., the northeast gate (and that didn't materialize) soooo we sat on the plane until we receive the okay to depart on "the east gate". Which was approximately 21:30. We finally arrived at approximately 01:00 a little more than hour late. It took better than 30 minutes for us to get our luggage. Stupid crazy that a person is paying ridiculous prices for pitiful customer service."

Every aspect of buying a ticket is littered with popups to upsell you to something "better" or more "exclusive". The entire experience from buying a ticket to touch-down was dehumanizing and an insult my intelligence."
Pros: "I really did not feel any more crowded or uncomfortable than any other airplane Ive been on. I sort of like that the tray tables are the size of a large cell phone- less bulky than regular tray tables."
Cons: "The crew wasn't bad, just seemed unhappy to be there. There was some confusion with which gate we should be at, changed us three times before settling on the original gate. Boarding was no problem but then we waited without taking off for over 45 minutes. The pilot came over the intercom and informed us that he had no idea why we were delayed to take off, but that he would "find shortcuts" to get us there on time. The biggest gripe that we have is once we landed and went to baggage, several of us waited for golf clubs for close to an hour before a worker realized "they forgot" to turn on the button to allow oversized items to come out. Then she said "sorry I was busy with ticketing and Frontier doesn't have a baggage attendant". I just dont think the extra savings was quite worth the frustration."

We missed our flight because we arrived at the counter to check our bags past the cutoff time to be checked in by 1 minute (due to long lines). That was partially our fault but the representative who was helping us did absolutely nothing to help us problem solve and seemed almost pleased to tell us that she couldn't take our bags. I rarely see such bad customer service. I have heard that Frontier pays their staff very poorly compared to other airlines and I assume this is why the customer service reps are so jaded."

Pros: "I was very surprised at all of the small things and extra charges that you had for the flight. For example, even just paying for a soda on board I thought was a little overboard. And then once my flight was canceled they were of no help on rescheduling my flight and were not able to find another frontier flight for four more days. Myself and others were left to reschedule our own flights without any repayment of the difference in ticket price. I will not fly this airline again I caution everyone else at the lack of customer support and professionalism ."

Pros: "Frontier has constant hidden charges. I flew to my destination using my Frontier phone app and when I went to fly back I was not able to submit on Frontier's boarding pass on my phone Frontier phone app. I had to use a computer which caused me to delay my boarding pass and the reason Frontier did not let me get my boarding pass on the phone app as Frontier wanted me to choose a seat and charge additional charges. I did not accept this choice and let Frontier choose my seat for no cost. Frontier needs to change to access your boarding pass on their phone app. I could see the boarding pass on the app after I went into a regular computer and kept saying "NO" to additional cost of baggage and seating cost. The Frontier airlines seats do not recline and are hard plastic seats and not comfortable. (I only weight 125 lbs) Also, during the flight I had to hear the commercial of Frontier credit card commercials over the loud speaker. I wanted to sleep not listen to commercials of their credit card. They charge for all food and drinks except water which is fine since it was only a 2 hour flight."
Cons: "My partner had a change of plans and cancelled her flight so Frontier could resell her seat. In the process the agent also erroneously cancelled my flight. I did not discover this until I arrived at the airport two hours from home. After an extremely frustrating 2+ hours on the phone with customer service I finally got to Edwin Watkins in the corporate office who made it right by paying for a flight on an alternate carrier. So a big shout-out to Mr. Watkins, but very poor grades for customer service prior to that who offered my non-solutions such as flying out the next day, or a full refund which would have then required me to pay astronomical last-minute airfares on a different carrier. Also frustrating was being told repeatedly that the agent would be back on the line in five minutes and then hearing nothing for 20 minutes or more. Like some other reviewers, I also was not aware of the fee for carry on baggage. I don't object to this approach to pricing, but I think it needs to be very explicit up front. Spirit Airlines uses a similar pricing model but they do a much better job making it all clear to the customer up front. Finally, I gather there are some seats that recline while most do not. I was right behind one of the reclining seats and felt pretty crowed. Presumably this would be less of an issue in rows with non-reclining seats in front."
Cons: "I understand that a lot of flights are charging for snacks and drinks these days and calling it a la carte (to make it sound fancy enough to justify the expense), but it is ridiculous to be expected to pay $3 for a bag of pretzels or a soda on a flight. Hiding that cost in the price of the ticket gives a MUCH better impression than being on the flight and waiting for the long-standing cherished ritual of accepting your meager snack, only to find that you have to pay $6 for it. Between this and the overall discomfort of the seats (they didn't recline, so I couldn't nap), the lack of in-flight magazine (if I can't nap, can't I at least pass the time with a crossword?), the carry-on fee, and the fact that the flight crew reminded us four or five times that they were also the clean-up crew so we should help them out by not littering, it was the most uncomfortable of any flight I have ever taken."

Especially for shorter trips with the round trip the carry on charge would equal up to at least $60. Which would equal to another airline who is comparatively better especially because those airlines aren't worrying about charging the customers for every single thing. So even though I comparison shop for my ticket, by the time I paid for these additional fees, I could have purchased a ticket from another airline for less money."

Pros: "I loved the price of the tickets. My children spend the summer between Iowa and Alabama. So we travel a lot. I normally drive to Kentucky to meet up with Grandma to let them go north for part of the summer. However, this year I have planned a honeymoon, and even planned going to Virginia two weekends back to back. I thought I would fly to St. Louis from Atlanta to cut down on the driving. (I tend to get sick on road trips anyway, a flight would be nice). I found these tickets for around $50 each. I needed 3. Got them. The flight to St Louis was quick. We landed 20 mins ahead of schedule. (Made my return trip great as I was back on the same plane and was sorta freaking out about making it back to the gate in time) Landed in St Louis walked to baggage claim met up with Grandma returned with time to spare. The return flight was the same. I did not like the seats. I ended up with a massive migraine no fault of the airline but I would have loved to have been a little more comfortable. It has been a long time from my last flight and this one. The price of baggage went up. (As well as tickets which is one reason its been a while) I did notice that the airline is wanting you to prepay for baggage when you purchase the tickets. In the long run makes in SO MUCH EASIER! And with the most recent issues with TSA and getting through security that speeds things up. I paid for one checked bag. And using the frontier site was cheaper than I would have been charged at the airport. Overall I can't complain. I did make it to and from my destination on time and safely. My bag was in one piece. The seats not being the best is a minor detail. Oh. And unlike some of the other flights this one did not offer free drinks and snacks. I've flown Southwest, and Delta I was offered a soft drink and a small bag of something. I was offered to purchase these from this line. Found it odd."

On other notes, on the first flight of my two, the plane was swerving back and forth on takeoff and landing. The weather was fine, and I've flown plenty enough to know this wasn't normal. My second flight was fine. It was on the same plane, but the crew changed, so I guess it was pilot causing it to be this way? The seats were uncomfortable in coach for long periods of time compared to other airlines, and did not recline."

On the flight, the volume of pilot announcements were very loud, crew said it was a new plane and the volume wasn't adjusted yet. I have never been on a flight where I had to pay for water! I have since learned Frontier doesn't allow TSA precheck - will never fly this airline again for that reason."
Pros: "Never flew with any other airlines aside from United until I flew for the first time with Frontier. I have to say, I had a pretty good experience. I didn't expect the best accomidations compared with a major airline. But for a budget airline, I'm actually surprised and happy that there was a straight flight from MCO to STL. I couldn't find other airlines with a straight flight. I also loved how helpful the ticketing personel and boarding employee helped me out and answered some of my concerns. They were super polite and quick to help. They also had a very relaxed/laid back attitude I liked."
Cons: "I understand it's a budget airlines, but I didn't like the fact that you aren't allowed a carry-on item unless you purchase one. Most other airlines would allow one free carry-on and one free personal item. Due to this, I didn't get to pack as much as I needed for my trip. And also, it was not informed that guest had to pay for a carry-on. I was lucky enough to call the hq a day before my flight. It just so happened to be one of my concerning questions. The flight attendants were overall okay, but there were some instances that I felt they were incompetent but also not as thorough. I had trash to throw away and they passed me 3 times before I was able to throw it away. Plus I turned on my assistance light so they would come pick it up, but it took them a good 15/20 minutes to finally check in me and by that time my trash was already picked up. The seats and trays aren't as comfortable as I hoped. And I get it's a budget airlines, but that's also the reason why my flight was less comfortable or entertaining."

An hour and 10 minutes after we landed with no additional explanation about why we were delayed again after we landed. I got home at 2 am. Had to be at work by 8 am. I'm so sick of airlines that withhold information. Just tell the freakin truth. It's 3 days later now and I still haven't had time to unpack. Also, your luggage fees are OUTRAGEOUS."

Cons: "First, they let you check in online, but they do not offer mobile boarding passes, so you have to go to the counter regardless. Second, they only allow a personal item (instead of a personal item and carry on). The normal carry on bag costs extra. Third, the seats don't recline at all, which is uncomfortable for anyone over 6 feet. All water, snack, soda, etc cost money, but that's to be expected. Lastly, the organization and scheduling process at the gate was terrible. They seemed disorganized and haphazard, and cancelled the flight before ours, giving little reason or recourse to the travelers. Bottom line: we may have saved a little money on the front end, but it wasn't worth it with all the additional charges and friction at check-in."

Myers to grab a quick bite to eat and upon returning to same plane with printed boarding passes and assigned seats our boarding passes did not scan correctly. At this time there was about 30 or so people behind us to board as there was plenty of time. We were asked to step aside and a employee was trying to figure things out. In the meantime ALL people in line were allowed on plane even though several had problems but were quickly fixed! At last second we were told to board the plane and try to find two seats. Only one was left on flight and we were told they had to leave and sorry but we must exit plane! Worst I have ever been treated by an airline ever in all my years of travel! I did get some money compensation, rented a car and drove 13 hours to Chicago! Awful way to end a vacation!"

Cons: "This was my worst experience ever with an airline! I have flown with them previously so I know about the bag fees, etc., but I did not realize thus was a self-service airline! There is is no customer service. My flight was to depart at 6am and we boarded the plane , but were informed that there was no pilot/copilot so we all had to de-board and wait for one. First they said 9:00, then 10 and then 10:45. I asked about my connecting flight and was told to go and book another flight which meant go back to the ticketing counter outside security! The agents at the gate claimed they did not have that capability. I proceeded to walk, but I called spirit airlines instead and was did not have to book another flight because the flight would be refueling and continuing to New Orleans so I would be on the same plane, but the gate agents did not know this. . We finally boarded 6 hours later to depart at 12pm. When I arrived in Chicago, not only did I have a message indicating I needed to pick up my bag in Baltimore, but also there was not flight continuing to New Orleans! So no bag and no flight! I had to argue with the ticket agent in order to get a hotel for the night book me on the same flight the next day. No apologies or explanation was provided. They actually tried to blame my phone connection for the miscommunication with airline about the connecting flight! They would not refund any amount for my bag or flight since they were able to book me 24 hours later! That is no excuse for the poor service they provided! Never again will I use this airline!"

Pros: "This airline is one big scum. They selling more tickets than they can board. I forgot to register online since it was not mandatory action. We came 55 min before departure and spent 10 min by staying in line. During our staying in line nobody from Spirit inquiry our flight to offer a quick check in. Finally after we reached a self-registration kiosk we got a message that we cannot register our self and required an assistance. We spend 5 more minutes by looking for an assistance and finally 40 min before departure we have been told that we missed our registration deadline. There is no way to argue and apply on common sense to solve the situation. People who were staying in front of us in the line (they came 1 hour 10 min before departure but also did not register online) got the same response from Spirit reps - they missed a registration deadline. Then I checked the flight information and found that the flight to Chicago departure 10 min earlier the schedule. It means that guys from Spirit sold more tickets than they could accommodate. As soon as the number of the passengers met the capability of the plane they hold the remaining passengers who did not register online in line till the registration deadline is due and offer another flight for additional price that even more than the original ticket price. I have seen this practice in 3rd world airlines but could not imagine that US Company will follow the same pattern. Shame on you Spirit"

They had marked me as a no show despite my having checked in and told me there were literally no options to fly later and that I would have to buy entirely new tickets. Not only that, but I couldn't even take the return flight because they were cancelling the entire itinerary! The customer service line was rude as well. I fly frequently and I have never been treated like this by an airline. It was a hugely stressful and frustrating experience, and at the end of it I was not only out the money I had paid for the Spirit ticket but also had to pay for a brand new round trip ticket at great expense. I am extremely displeased."

Cons: "I was flying to Chicago for a wedding. I only had a backpack to take on the flight with me. I arrived at my gate with 20mins to spare. Reweind to when I was in line getting my boarding pass... the person at the check-in said I needed to arrive to the gate and ask for a seat. I thought ok, no big deal. She asked if I wanted to pay for a seat, I said that I just wanted a random seat rather than paying for a specified one. Had I known that there was a chance of not being able to board I would have gladly paid the extra fee for a seat. I had to arrive in chicago that morning - as the wedding was at noon. I could not fly Friday due to work and being a recent graduate I didn't want to ask for a vacation day. Fast-forward and I'm at the gate and there's a line of about 4 people. I'm second in line when the ticket counter person says to step aside if we have no seat on our boarding pass. There was a total of 6 or 7 people that stepped to the side. Someone asked her if we would be getting our seat number soon and she became so upset and rudely said there's a chance this flight may be booked and that we probably should have paid for a seat to secure one. Confused. I asked the people by me if somehow I got mixed up flying standby?? They said nope, that they had tickets bought way in advance just like me and that apparently we might be missing this flight. I couldn't believe it. A panic set-in and I didn't know what to do. I was too afraid to ask the lady anything she kept raising her voice at customers who didn't pay for their carry-on beforehand. It got so bad a man asked her for her name and was going to complain about her treating of customers. Sadly, I didn't catch her name. I just don't understand why she works for Spirit if she's going to be upset at everyone. It was 6-7am and no one should be that unhappy in the morning. Anyway, 5 minutes before the plane closed and was ready to leave, she looked at the small group and said ok go in, and to hurry and pick a seat. I got in the plane and tried sitting in the first seat open and would you believe it there were at least 25 seats open... All the drama she made for that many seats?! Crazy. Crazy world. Not a great experience with Spirit Airlines I tell ya. Truthfully speaking, I would not recommend Spirit Airlines to anyone not would I fly with you all again. I'd much rather pay a little extra for Delta, AA, or JetBlue. Best wishes on future customer reviews! -Tracy"

Cons: "Too many hidden fees! I didn't know I had to pay for my carry-on. The flight was at 6:20am, so I had to pay for a Super Shuttle, since the Metro wasn't open yet. I should have just flown the slightly more expensive United flight, since they ended up costing the same in the end. Then, the flight attendants were unfriendly, like old school principals. My seat didn't recline AND was tiny. NO entertainment whatsoever - not even a magazine. And while I didn't mind (so much) the lack of in-flight beverage service, the fact that Spirit sells Oodles of Noodes - that's right, OODLES OF NOODLES - on the flight (and for $3.50!) was simply too much. I'll never fly Spirit again. Never."
Pros: "The flight and crew were great!! Loved the safety presentation!!"
Cons: "We arrived at the gate about 10 minutes after the scheduled boarding time. There were no passengers in the waiting area. When I asked the Boarding Attendant if this was the correct flight she was VERY nasty to us and stated that the boarding was getting ready to close. (however the flight wasn't due to leave for another 30 minutes). She scanned our boarding passes with an attitude and we proceeded down the walkway where there was a line to board. Obviously we weren't THAT late. Unfortunately I didn't get her name."
Pros: "The gate agents were patient and understanding that the delay was a major hassle."
Cons: "The plane was delayed almost 2 hours due to a maintenance issue in another city. We sat in a deserted airport with everything closed for almost 3 hours because they insist you still have to be there an hour before the original flight time in case something changes, despite the fact that they knew about the delay for most of the day and could have given us more information about why it was delayed. Then when we were finally allowed to board the less than half full flight, the flight attendants refused to allow us to move around to the empty seats because of the carefully calibrated "weight and balance of the aircraft", so about 50 people were packed in six people to a row from rows 18 to 25, while the rest of the plane sat empty. Then they didn't even do a beverage service. Spirit charges for every single item of food or drink, but it would have been nice to at least have the option to get something to drink after sitting in a deserted airport for three hours. But the are too cheap to even offer a free glass of water to compensate us for the trouble caused by their maintenance issue. Never again will I fly Spirit. After all the nickel and diming they do, the hassle isn't worth the cost savings."

Cons: "Delays, more delays, they seem to be not ready for the unexpected things that can occur. The plane is so small you feel like riding a bus with wings."
Pros: "Pilot and crew were awesome. There was a medical emergency in plane and they handled it very professionally (given that there were 2 nurses and a doctor). Took off 15-20mins late and arrived on time(Scheduled time). Seats very comfortable. Pilot was a bit crazy in driving the plane on the Tarmac, tailgating and speeding all the way to the terminal."
Pros: "Crew was nice, the people I sat next to were great. Drink service was quick and efficient."
Cons: "That wifi is not an option to order. You say that we are not charged for "spotty wifi" like on other airlines, but you not offering it period is a negative. I'll never take Spirit for a ride longer than 2 hours because of it."

Cons: "3 hour delay with no announcements from Spirit staff. We only knew about the delay from checking our cell phone. The flight itself was terrible because of the crying children (who were really tired from the late departure time). There was also a woman yelling and screaming and dancing before boarding the plane. Sprit airline staff didn't do anything about this obnoxious behavior - Southwest did, they called the police. Next time I'm flying Southwest because they clearly had safety and customers' well being in mind. This was my first time flying Spirit and I won't do it again. I haven't recommended the airline to any of my family or friends either."
Cons: "We arrived 55 minutes prior to our flight,which had been delayed. They told us there was no room on the flight, and that we should have been there 45 minutes prior to our SCHEDULED departure time, not the actual departure time with the delay. They offered us a flight the next morning, but then said that was booked as well. We asked how we were supposed to know about this scheduled departure rather than actual departure and they said they sent an e-mail. I never got it and I called customer service. They said they had not been able to e-mail me because kayak hadn't given them my e-mail address. THey also said that the desk attendants wrote that we arrived late, at 5:30, when actually we were there at 5:15. They refused to refund us our money because it's a non-refundable flight."
