Snacks were good and offered on each flight during the trip. I checked my carry-on bag on the final flight, because the flight crew asked for volunteers.
I didn’t like the two hours and more of delay
Pros: "The boarding process was simple enough"
Cons: "The flight attendants weren’t the nicest. We weren’t greeted or sent off with thank you or smiles. The airline ruined my suitcase somehow. They broke 2 of the 4 wheels."
Cons: "Flight attendants were not particularly friendly. Food had some odd textures."
Pros: "Smooth flight, easy on and off."
Cons: "Staff could have paid a little more attention to what the were doing. Asked 3 times for apple juice and got orange juice. By time I realized what he had given me, he was gone ☹️"
Pros: "The flight was quick with food available for purchase. Seats were fine."
Cons: "The gate waiting area was very very watm"
Cons: "bus shuttle ride to plane could have been quicker. standing on a bus in the freezing cold with the doors open was a bad experience"
Pros: "Kind crew and comfy seats."
Cons: "The seats were too compact, and the water tasted funny. Also IAD is not well equipped for snow."
Cons: "More plentiful food selections? Everything served had dairy which I can’t do."
Pros: "Lots of entertainment options"
Cons: "Need a snack on a six-hour flight. Also, didn't receive drink service until a couple of hours in and was only served about 1/4 cup worth of soda. Disappointing"
Pros: "Modernized flight, no delays, military member service"
Pros: "Flight was just fine. Josh the flight attendant who was in charge of the main cabin handeled himself very well even while dealing with a boisterous drunk passenger. He was very professional."
Pros: "There was plenty of legroom, cabin crew came often for drinks, snacks and trash, power outlets easy to access (below tray table)."
Pros: "Every aspect of the trip was above our expectations, comfortable seats, delightful staff, good food and on time service."
Pros: "Bathrooms were relatively clean"
Cons: "Crew was rude and very unhelpful. Made smart little comments to many passengers."
Cons: "Sony handycam and cables were stolen out of my carry-on suitcase during TSA screening. on Sept. 29th, about 8:00 - 8:30 time frame. This was to be used for my Dad's full honors funeral service at Arlington Cemetery on Oct. 1. I had gone through Alaska Airline check in, then to TSA screening where the crime took place."
Pros: "Smooth no delay"
Pros: "The plane was on-time. Boarding was easy. Flight attendants were very helpful. They helped passengers get to their seats, find places for their luggage. Entertainment options were good. Bags arrived within a reasonable amount of time"
Cons: "I wish they would provide more food options or at least stock a few more of the ones they have. The fruit and cheese tray sells out early making it a long flight without real food. I don’t consider chips and cookies lunch food."
Pros: "The flight attendants were very friendly and attentive. The Red system makes the flight much easier. It has entertainment, you can order your food and keep track of the flight stats"
Cons: "The plane had problems delaying the flight by 3hrs. Alaska really should change how they load the plane. After all the special people (first class, mvps, etc.) then passengers without carryons then people with carryons. This would speed up the process and keep people from getting stuck behind people who are messing with their bags."
Pros: "Not a lot"
Cons: "The crew was rude, they weren’t helpful. And they were talking bad about another customer infront if other customers"
Pros: "Excellent service. I just saw a flight attendant carrying a toddler so he could be calmed while the mom settled. That was sweet!"
Pros: "Even the baggage was excellent. My bag was on the belt before I got there"
Pros: "I had additional legroom for some reason, and 2 windows. We didn't die."
Cons: "No in flight wifi, no one asked me if I wanted to order food, the flight was really bumpy. Took forever to board."
Pros: "clean and spacious the airplane was. the outlets."
Pros: "I have been flying for many years, and must admit that the flight cabin crew was incredible. Professional, attentive and on their feet for 95 % of the time. Thank you"
Pros: "I'm used to being spoiled by Hawaiian Airlines. By comparison to Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian is a lot warmer with customer service, they are more efficient, they give you a free meal for trans-pacific flights, and they give you a screen or full entertainment system (depending on what kind of airplane you get). Alaska Airlines, by contrast, is a lot more bare-bones. I hardly had any contact with the flight attendants (when I did, they were nice enough I suppose), there was no food on the flight unless you paid a good penny for it, the seats were pretty average, and there was nothing really to watch (not even a common screen for movies, and this was a trans-pacific flight). You had to order their entertainment iPads. So I pretty much slept. That said, both Alaska and Hawaiian have good prices. Alaska had better options for departure and arrival times."
Cons: "The bare bones aspect (see other side)."
Pros: "Alaskan airlines- the care, the ease of getting everything checked in ahead of time, traveling wit the best friend; we both get spookebafbbmbutbiblovenuseb"
Cons: "Small complex, quit for thenfranynlike me - if you’re buy abstragerbwith a grumpy"
Pros: "Pleasant personnel"
Pros: "She was calm and caring. An unexpected large dog passenger fist phase her. Dog, dog owner, and other passengers were happy."
Pros: "Clean cabin, friendly staff. Definitely prefer OAK to SFO."
Cons: "Going to OAK, left late due to pilots being on another plane. I know that can’t be helped, but that’s just one thing. I’d rather have pretzels or nuts rather than cookies. Overall, I enjoy flying Alaska; I’d choose Alaska over other airlines. Just giving feedback."
Pros: "Easy, on time, arrived early!"
Cons: "I made a reservation for a particular reason and got an email from ALASKA saying it was BOOKED only to find a later email where ALASKA CHANGED my reservation"
Pros: "Great flight crew"
Cons: "Nothing to dislike"
Pros: "The crew was great. The flight was basically beyond max capacity in terms of food & bathroom but they handled it well."
Cons: "- Ran out of food. There were a lot of people asking to buy food but no food available. - Crazy lines to the bathroom -- the plane was probably too small for the number of people and the length of the flight?"
Cons: "They overcharged me for my beer by $9 and I didn't notice until I got home when I looked at my billing statement."
Pros: "Ease and great service"
Cons: "No good available very No entertainment"
Pros: "Always nice people. Boarding was slow due to tech failure but gate agents were resourceful and pleasant about it"
Pros: "1) Attendant crew was nice. 2) Appreciated being able to board from front and rear."
Cons: "1) Flight time delayed, so late arrival ~12am was made even later ~12:30am 2) Booked two tickets together months ago, yet we were not allowed to sit together. 3) Entertainment required the downloading of the gogo app which should have been done on the ground with wifi and/or cellular data. in the air, one window said you could (wait) and download, while another window effectively said, "better luck next time". Pre-flight email should have warned passengers to download beforehand. 4) Exiting plane only allowed from front; took forever from our next-to-last row."
Cons: "The flight was overbooked. We changed gates at the last minute and we weren't confirmed until after other passengers had boarded. Flight was delayed an hour because of this."
Pros: "Good service"
Cons: "The airline changed flights and somehow lost my original seats, staying on the flight cost additional money beyond the original price so that we could sit together as a family. Every time I fly I have another reason to tell friends and family not to fly."
Pros: "Comfortable seats. Polite crew. Flight was on time."
Pros: "Crew was friendly and professional; boarding was rushed; cabin was clean, but seating was very cramped; entertainment was v good (and currently free) using own tablet, phone, or smart phone."
Pros: "The flight offered was a direct flight. They offer preboarding for families with children under 2."
Cons: "The seats on this flight are so close together your shoulders literally touch your neighbors shoulders while sitting normally in your seat. This is unacceptable. When will airlines finally get it? People deserve to sit in their own seat without being on top of their neighbor."
Pros: "Overall as expected. Decent flight, nothing that made me go "wow", but on time, clean, reasonable boarding."
Cons: "I found the reaction of one of the flight attendants to be unprofessional. When I asked if she could pour a bit of water into my water bottle, rather than say, "I'm sorry, I am not allowed" or "unfortunately, no" or really anything verbal, she made a "tsk, tsk" face and offered me a plastic cup. Besides being annoyingly wasteful as a policy (if indeed it is one - this has not been an issue on other airlines), her customer service skills left something to be desired. This strange interaction left me with a poor overall impression of the flight experience."
Pros: "Ticket agent kindly arranged for us to sit together - after we had been assigned seats apart from one another."
Cons: "Boarding was delayed, disorganized and chaotic. Flight crew seemed to be overwhelmed and scattered. Ran out of hot meal about halfway through aircraft. When I expressed my disappointment, the F.A. said that there were a lot of wrestlers on board and they got all the food. I commented that it was poor planning and the FA stated that he didn't think anything would please me. He was argumentative and rude, IMO. He could have handled it better, eg: "So sorry. Out of our control, etc." To say that the food went to the wrestlers, and attitude gave me and those around me, the impression that he really didn't give a damn. Customer service training would be a good idea."
Cons: "Coming down and landing"
Pros: "I was pleased that the crew was helping to get everyone on board and settled quickly. The plane was on time which everyone appreciates."
Pros: "Everything was efficient and quick. Plane was clean. Crew was responsive."
Cons: "No entertainment. Temp of plane was warmer than usual and above head fan didn't seem to work."
Pros: "To be able to upgrade, charging stations at my seat, generous beverages"
Cons: "No free baggage, unclear coomunication about check in and choosing seats, was not offered my free drink."
Pros: "Crew from Washington to Cancún were extremely rude"
Pros: "The crew was very attentive and had great personality. They anticipated any needs we had."
Pros: "Quickly moving through the airport."
Cons: "Take out old planes. It was really run down."
Pros: "The plane was nice"
Cons: "I’m still sitting in Minneapolis so I would have liked to be at my destination. And I had to pay for the overnight accommodations."
Pros: "Entertainment was awesome. Although airlines are stingy with snacks, Delta had a good overall selection and very generous."
Cons: "Something that cant be changed overnight, however, there should be a little more Aisle space for folks pass through as my shoulder was getting beat up after every passing person and cart."
Pros: "Crew was friendly."
Cons: "Wish the seat was more comfortable. Landing was jittery and bumpy."
Pros: "The flight attendant from IAD to MSP called Bernadette was wonderful!"
Pros: "Super comfortable seats. Lots of movie options."
Cons: "Food was not very good"
Pros: "Flight was smooth, arrived early..crew was prompt and courteous."
Pros: "Great landing in a real mess of a storm. We were pitching and yawing due to high gusts of winds but the crew brought it down perfectly. The Captain explained the weather situation before we left Atlanta so I was prepared for a bad weather flight and landing."
Cons: "The weather."
Pros: "Early and middle seat was open!"
Cons: "Coffee tasted like fish. :("
Pros: "Crew and entertainment options were great."
Cons: "Cabin was very loud, with jet engine noise. Could not block it out. Seats were not comfortable."
Pros: "Standard Air France flight. My wife and I like the Airbus 380."
Cons: "The flight left two hours late. Apparently this happens a lot with this flight these days because it's an Airbus 380 coming from Paris to Dulles and turning around. The incoming flight was two hours late, so the departure was late. Our arrival in Paris was late. We made the flight, but our luggage didn't. Our return flight from Paris to Dulles was half an hour late because of people from connecting flights. We arrived about 30 minutes late, but no big deal (unless you had a connection)"
Pros: "Fly attenden alwas with a beautiful smile"
Cons: "Left 30 minutes late from SLC."
Pros: "Nothing particularly stands out. I did arrive safely."
Cons: "First class did not come with lounge access? Drinks were not cold. Bathrooms were falling apart and came with a disgusting odor. Time to retire these aircrafts."
Pros: "Flight attendants were nice based on the situations beyond their control."
Cons: "Flight was delayed for about three hours, due to mechanical issues with the second engine not starting. We sat on the the plane for over an hour and half. Some people that missed their connection flights were offered hotel stay. Others that had no connection flight was not offered anything for the several hours of delay that occurred."
Cons: "The monitors kept on freezing"
Pros: "The chekc in person was very helpful."
Cons: "The plane was too hot and the pilot did not accommodate the passengers request. More than just me made the same request."
Cons: "Crew was pretty short with everyone and not Delta’s best - not sure what the story was. Gate staff were allowing people to cut queue lines left and right - why even have the zones lined up if not going to enforce?"
Pros: "That I landed safely"
Cons: "1st class was horrible."
Cons: "I have traveled with my luggage plenty of times through airports and the flight from washington to jacksonville, my luggage came back to me cracked and broken. I was surprised that Delta handling was worse than any of the cheaper flights I normally take and will not be checking any baggage with Delta again."
Pros: "Great and friendly crew"
Cons: "baggage rules, check in with baggage, change fee for flight when it was not customers issue that caused the 5 min delay! Unable to reach reservation desk on line or via phone (neither was the gate agent)"
Cons: "Seeing as I’m still waiting for my flight, more than five hours later I am not inclined to rank it highly. This airport is an embarrassment and I will try my best to never fly Delta again. Weather is no excuse for this."
Pros: "My flight was canceled but Delta rebooked me on a flight leaving at about the same time as my original flight, which arrived just a little later than originally anticipated"
Cons: "My original flight was canceled"
Cons: "it stink inside the plane, the seats in front of us were dirty and smelled bad!"
Cons: "Due to the earthquakes, the film festival I was going to was cancelled. Ten days prior to the flight I called AeroMexico to cancel and they said there would be a cancellation penalty, which was fine. When I tried to redeem my credit, they said there was also an additional "No-show fee" even though I called to cancel 10 days prior, which left a total of $70 credit after all their penalties. I called and emailed to complain but they did nothing but pass me to someone else who was equally unhelpful. I will never fly AeroMexico for any reason in the future."
Cons: "Delayed two hours"
Pros: "Got to my placs"
Cons: "Lol put the two fattest people next to each other"
Pros: "The fact that there were no snakes on this plane :-)"
Cons: "Same issue... there were no snakes on the plane :-/"
Pros: "free texting and entertainment!"
Cons: "our flight was delayed half an hour."
Pros: "For a short flight, they gave it drinks and snacks."
Pros: "Flight attendants and cookies. That's it."
Cons: "We left DC late because of Delta's inefficient boarding process. We landed in Atlanta late. Our flight to Sioux Falls left early, without us. My pregnant wife and I made it to the gate 4 minutes before the scheduled departure and they told us the plane was already gone and there was no way for us to get on the plane. Our bags did make it to Sioux Falls, so my wife didn't have her prenatal vitamins, , we had no clean clothes and we were forced to spend the night in Atlanta. The saddest part of yet another terrible experience with Delta was that they offered us a "discounted" room at a terrible Howard Johnson for $72. I looked online and the same hotel was $65 to book on Kayak. So basically Delta was trying to scam us after they screwed us. Thanks Delta! Instead we paid $200+ to stay at an airport hotel. Every time I fly Delta I regret it, yet occasionally I get forced to take their awful airline to get somewhere I need to go. It never fails to add another bad Delta experience to my long list of failings from this SAD!!! airline."
Pros: "Crew was courtesy"
Cons: "1hour delay from departing LAX runway - not good"
Pros: "Flight was delayed for over 6 hours. Not an ideal way to spend the day."
Pros: "The crews were very friendly and everything went as planned. It was a nice flight."
Cons: "I didnt like that my flight was canceled and rebooked for no reason. This created me big problem in Athens that they couldnt find my ticket in delta. Also I didnt like that i had to stand and wait for 3 hours in the line because my flight was canceled but no one could let us know if there gonna be any flights within the day. I slept in the airport because i couldnt find a hotel to spend the night close to the airport. They were all full and i had no time to find one since I was waiting there for 3 hours with no informational. I slept on the floor and delta didnt even offer us a blanket. That was my worst trip ever."
Pros: "The flight was smooth and the food selection was surprising delicious. The crew was very attentive."
Cons: "The leg room was much less than the last time I flew Virgin (booked via Delta) and made for an uncomfortable trip. Could not sleep as a result. If you're tall like me you'll need to book a higher seating category."
Pros: "Everything was great"
Cons: "Nothing everything was fine"
Cons: "paying extra for leg room and checked bags"
Pros: "Service. Sweet attendant."
Cons: "Economy seating was cramped and painful. I sat in a window seat and couldn't hardly move freely enough to get my seatbelt on; and I am a petite female!!"
Pros: "We barely got on the flight."
Cons: "The boarding "red shirt" saved us. We are a band on tour and thanks to her we made the gig"
Cons: "Being scammed by the Chinese, China Southern"
Pros: "Our flight was cancelled and we had to buy $447 worth of Southwest tickets to get home. Our luggage is still missing, by the way."
Pros: "Very nice Flight Crew from Detroit to Las Vegas!!"
Cons: "The ground crew (in Detroit) were unfriendly and rude. I asked two simply which line I should be in, the First lady just ignored me, the second gentleman rudely told me where to stand. They were not terribly busy at the time and I politely asked as I was unsure which line to be in. The flight attendants (only from ORF to Detroit) also were unfriendly with an attitude. Just simple stuff. I asked for extra ice, she thought I said no ice. Simple mistake, no big deal but when I explained that I actually wanted extra ice she was perturbed!"
Pros: "Delayed by 55 minutes in 10 or 20 minute increments as they waited for a crew."
Cons: "The crew was loud and obnoxious, making fun of the passengers"
Pros: "The boarding process is efficient and they don't run out of bin space. The crew is nice and we got in really early."
Cons: "They charge you for literally everything but water. The seats are also uncomfortable for more than a three-hour flight and don't recline. The tray table is 1/3 the size of a normal one."
Cons: "Terrible seats. Mean flight attendants. No snacks. No WiFi."
Cons: "A soft drink that doesn’t cost money!!"
Cons: "An explanation of why we arrived an hour late. It wasn’t even mentioned."
Cons: "Had a medical emergency and had to change my flight. As you know that can’t be done without fees. Couldn’t even negotiate a credit for my return flight."
Pros: "Cheaper prices. Safe flight in a steel tube. Because Frontier charges for food, the stewards/stewardesses were very quiet about it and let the passengers sleep."
Cons: "Food costs extra. the fact that I didn't get notice beforehand about purchasing my bag space before getting to the front counter and paying there. So it was more expensive. Boo! The fact that baggage costs money. The fact that you get yelled at over the airline PA that if you can no longer place your carry on in the overhead bins unless you paid for it, and that your bags must now go underneath the seat in front of you, when leg space is already tight. And, no, I am not overweight by a long shot."
Pros: "Crew was great, very friendly, efficient and professional. A great group."
Cons: "I am 6'1" and did not fit in the seat. For 3 hours my legs touched the tray in front of me and they were even at an angle. The kid behind me kept kicking my seat and putting their feet on my armrest to boot. Most uncomfortable-- more legroom is a must to avoid bruising in the trip and to prevent deep vein thrombosis."
Cons: "The flight was uncomfortable, cheap rate but you had to pay $40 for just a carry on and another $11-$50 to check in and pick a seat! The flight attendants were less than friendly and not even a coke was complimentary."
Cons: "pay for tea-never!!!! I got hot water instead- next time I'll bring a tea bag..No other airline has asked me to remain thirsty for a flight of 4 hours. Add getting on and off the plane and to the gates and baggage claim and you are without anything to drink for 6 hours or more.... Pay for water is above and beyond. Some people arrive late and literally have to run to their plane. Hydration is a huge factor in maintaining a good outlook, being able to think clearly, and maintaining ones health-avoiding blood clots etc. . For safety reasons, please offer water! This should be poured and not in individual plastic bottles which are dangerous and polluting."
Pros: "The crew were very nice and professional, the flight was on time as well."
Cons: "Yes it's a budget airline but the seats are not very comfortable and there is absolutely no leg room unless your 5'4 and they do not recline. The seating arrangement is nuts they choose for you, you can choose yourself if you join their club and you still have to pay. The carry on/checking fee is $30 if your bag is 50 lbs or less. Otherwise you will pay $75 I believe. The only thing that is free is water by the cup otherwise the small bottle water is expensive. Yes it's a budget airline so remember, on longer flights I think I would rather pay more and have a more comfortable flight. Also the Airbus 319/320 that they use suck. They are old and you feel a lot of turbulence."
Pros: "The plane was spacious."
Cons: "The seats were uncomfortable with no recline or movable headrest options. Paying for a carry on bag was outrageous. More expensive than a checked bag. I checked in online and meant to pay for a checked bag, but accidentally payed for a carry on. When I went to check in in the morning for the flight they wouldn't refund me a portion of the money. Paying for soda or juice, also ridiculous. The delays were also absurd. We did not get explanations for why were just sitting on the run way and not taking off."
Pros: "Quick and easy boarding. Smooth flight that left online."
Cons: "No entertainment at all on flight, seat wouldn't recline (after paying for one that would), and sat at the gate for hours before finally parking (making us upwards of an hour late...)"
Pros: "Departed on time. Flight generally fine."
Cons: "Baggage service in Denver. Considering that Denver is a major hub for Frontier, I would have thought that the baggage claim process would be good. On the contrary, we and about 15 - 20 other customers waited more than 90 minutes for our baggage. The conveyer belt bringing the baggage up to the carousel stopped twice. The second time, it was not fixed for nearly 30 minutes - AFTER THIS WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THREE DIFFERENT FRONTIER BAGGAGE PERSONNEL. Frontier baggage personnel were ineffective and indifferent. I asked one Frontier employee about the delays - the only response I got was " They were a little short handed and little behind. " " Total Indifference " seems to bear the Frontier customer service motto as far as baggage is concerned - and I paid for the damn baggage service."
Cons: "Baggage claim. We waited 90 minutes to get our baggage at the main hub of Frontier in Denver. Frontier baggage employees were incompetent and totally disinterested and and had no idea there was any problem with baggage. When this was brought to the attention of three different Frontier employees, no fix was made for nearly thirty minutes - and this was the second time that the conveyor belt stopped. Frontier employees were totally indifferent and did nothing to personally help rectify situation. Customers from multiple flights were waiting extended periods of time. Horrible service and enough to make paying customer refuse to use Frontier in the future."
Pros: "I'll give a thumbs up to a pleasant crew each flight, however, tho both flights were nonstop, both were very late to leave and tho the pilot said he'd make up time going east, that didn't happen and no apologies/explanations. To exacerbate the length of time traveling, both flights baggage retrieval were an hour. Add to that the really ridiculous hour long wait on the runway after landing because a gate wasn't available! Overall Frontier is pretty bad-they obviously do not employ enough people nor implement plans for staying on time or at least working to minimize delays due to weather issues. I have always left late on frontier but succumbed for the last time for a cheaper priced nonstop; it was definitely not worth it. To be clear about judging the length of time: flight out was scheduled to leave 1030 mountain and arrive 400 eastern. It was 630 eastern before we had our bags. Return flight was scheduled 500 eastern departure and 600 arrival mountain. It was 1000 mountain by the time we got our bags. One last comment-there were hundreds of unclaimed bags surrounding the frontier carousel...wonder where they were actually supposed to be???"
Cons: "I was charged $45 at the gate to bring a carry on onto the plane. My carry on fit into the "personal item" box which meant that I wouldn't have to pay for a carry on, but they laughed and said that I would still have to pay This was not made clear anywhere during the purchasing process and represented a 35% increase in the fare at the gate. I was furious and I wil never fly frontier again."
Cons: "Flights delayed and the airline is always scrambling to address something. Never a smooth flight. They are constantly asking you for more money. You need to pay for a soda. You need to pay for carry-on bag. You need to pay if you pick your seat.... You feel like you need to guard your credit card on this airlines.."
Cons: "Seating is extremely uncomfortable. They are fixed, leave little leg room (it is hard to retrieve things from the floor), and very, very firm. Overall it is the most cramped seating I've every encountered on an airline!"
Pros: "It was cheap, which we appreciated. Even paying for carry on did not add much to the price overall. We will use this airline again. The crew were very nice. Our flight was on time and even got us there early."
Cons: "We were not offered water. But I can understand they are trying to cut costs for us. On the return trip, we brought our own water. No big deal. There is very little room onboard, so we felt squished."
Pros: "Boarded late but made up time in the air, thanks! Gate personnel announced reason for delay, but after People had been standing up waiting to board for about 15-20 minutes, that could have been done sooner. Pilot talking to us before, during and after the flight is so helpful."
Cons: "No tables anymore :(. I rated food and entertainment one star as there wasn't any. Just include baggage fee in ticket price, would probably receive less complaints."
Pros: "Arriving at Denver, NO gates available...we sat on the tarmac about 1 hour, with the seat belt light lites on. Captain told us there would be a delay until a gate opened up. He, nor any of the stewardesses made any other contact for at least 1/2 hour. Finaly, the captain said we could use the restrooms as we waited. NO contact from the flight crew, or other contact from the Captain until we were finally led to a gate. Communication is everything. It would have eased the temperaments of the passengers a great deal to have more updates, and even the presence of a stewardess. NOTHING>"
Pros: "Price of flight before all of the fees"
Cons: "Charged for seats after booking flight, beverages, and each bag including carry on (which was $5 more than checked baggage). Each flight was early to arrive but proceeded to sit on Tarmac for 45+ minutes making us late into the terminal. Seats did not recline and bathrooms were very smelly."
Pros: "flight arrived on time"
Cons: "Flight arrived on time sat on tarmac for an hour waiting for a gate. Checked luggage took another hour. three hours in destination airport before we could get to our car. this airline sucks the big weenie!!"
Cons: "When we checked in at the counter they did not inform us about carry-on charges. Most airlines don't charge fees for carry-ons, but frontier does. We had to pay $60 each for small carry-on at the gate. This practice is unfair to people who are not familiar with cheap airline business models. They should be more transparent about their fees on the ticket and at the counter. This cheap airline is so cheap that they couldn't hire enough staffs at the DCA gate. There's only one staff checking in the tickets at the gate and we had to wait until everyone went into the plane to pay for our $60 check in fees."
Pros: "I'm cool with saving a few bucks and not getting free soda and peanuts."
Cons: "I feel like Frontier takes the no frills thing a bit extreme, and then relies on the customer to work within the confines of their rules without making it super clear what those rules are. Seats a VERY uncomfortable, thin almost non-existent padding over hard plastic. Seats also cost money and you're not offered to buy your seats ahead of time but only when you check in, or if you know ahead how Frontier operates. Puts some folks in the position of having to buy expensive seats on the spot at check in. Also this is my 3rd Frontier flight in as many months and every time something has gone wrong, delays, or computers down. 1 more chance with me on my flight home in 2 weeks. If it messes up again, I'm officially never booking again."
Pros: "Frontier at one time was a decent airline, not any more. You pay to either carry on or check a bag, carry on is more expensive. No reclining seat, no leg room unless you want to pay another added fee for the privilege. No beverage unless you pay extra yet again. Their only redeeming quality was a safe flight and our bags didn't get lost. Never flying Frontier again."
Pros: "Nothing. For an airline to say that hey are low price high quality they are not. Between tkt luggage and seats same price as the big carriers"
Pros: "The crew was nice and efficient at getting everyone settled; finding space for baggage."
Cons: "Didn't like that my seat was hard and uncomfortable and didn't seem to recline. Both my flights were delayed; waited an hour for baggage transfer from a connecting flight that really should have been sent the next day. Had to pay for a soft drink. Don't like all the extra costs on this airline. Might be more tolerable if the comfort level was higher. No entertainment folks, so be sure to bring your own, along with peanuts, drink or any other snack you may want. I will be sure to research airlines better before booking next time."
Pros: "The staff was very personable and helpful, and there was plenty of leg room onboard. Heading into Denver, our flight was late and the staff let everyone onboard know that our group needed to exit the aircraft first. Those onboard were more that happy to ensure we made our connection."
Cons: "We had difficulty getting checked in as the website crashed and was not available before we headed to the airport. Once there, we did get to the gate easily enough, only to have our flight delayed in Denver. We had to sit on the tarmac for over half and hour before we could get to a gate. I'm also not a big fan of the 'pay for everything separately' type of fare. These days, travel is expensive enough without having to nickel and dime everything, including bags and snacks."
Pros: "Gate agents and flight crews were very nice people."
Cons: "Seats were barely minimum quality, no entertainment systems, no food (not even a little bag of peanuts or pretzels), flights were late, and on the last leg I missed my connection, partly because we were late, but also because there was no ground crew to get the plane to the gate, so we waited over 15 minutes just meters from the dock, and watched the ground crew handle several other planes down the line, during which time my last flight must have taken off. I was rebooked on the next flight to my destination, even mentioning my checked bag, which I hoped would also be placed on the next flight out. That last flight was also delayed in departing, and when I arrived at my destination, my bag did not. I filed a claim, and was told I'd receive an email with a claim # and contact info, and my bag would be delivered to my home the following day. No emai arrived, and no bag arrived. I have filed another claim via the airline's web site, so we'll see what happens. Also, they charge high prices (IMO) for checked bags, carry-on bags (1 personal item is free), and seat selection. Not as economical as it seems at first! I doubt I will ever use this airline again."
Pros: "My husband said that there was a little more room than usual in the seats, in part bc the seats don't have a full size drop down tray. I did appreciate that the seats were comfortable even though they don't tilt back, and since they don't tilt back, it means you don't have the person in front of you tilting all the way back into your space."
Cons: "Frontier is really just another cheap airline that will charge you extra for everything now. It's annoying enough that you have to pay to get a seat assignment and to take a bag (carry on or check) but when the flight attendant said it would cost be $1.99 to get a cup of coffee, that was it for me. I also found the dinky little half trays annoying - there's no way to do anything on them. and since they don't lock, every child on the plane spent the entire trip dropping them down to hear the loud sound they made. Also with the arm rests. Oy. Also, the board of our flight out of Denver was ridiculous. The flight was delayed quite a bit and then Frontier check in person not once but twice announced we would begin boarding only to then realize it wasn't ready yet and shut the doors. It was really weird."
Cons: "The three hour delay which was only partially explained by weather."
Cons: "Cramped seating Stuck on the plane on a taxiway after landing for an hour waiting for a gate. People were not allowed to use restrooms until close to the very end, and less than half of those in need were allowed. No recognition of passenger discomfort acknowledged or real apology given."
Cons: "Boarding was completely disorganized. The attendant shouted the boarding order which was completely ignored. Our flight was delayed but we didn't know because because the sign indicated that it was "On-time" because we were held in a holding pattern for more than 45 minutes our plane ran low on fuel and we had to be diverted to Colorado Springs to refuel. Because of these delays we missed our connecting flight. We stood in line for more than an hour to see when we could fly out. We were told the airline would not compensate us for a hotel room even though the next flight out was not to be until the afternoon of the next day. Because of a convention in town there were NO hotels available. I am a 70 year old woman and I had to spend the night in the airport with my grandson. I have not had any sleep and we are still waiting (3 & 1/2 hours to go as of now) for our flight out. Because Frontier does not partner (I think this is likely the other way around) with any of the other airlines we could not even get a flight with one of them. Beyond that the seats are plastic with barely any padding and most uncomfortable. I will NEVER use this airline again. I am outraged."
Pros: "The crew was very friendly and the plane for the most part was clean."
Cons: "This is a very stripped down way to travel. Expect to be nickeled and dimed for everything. Carry on ran me $40. However, they don't check if you actually paid the carry on fee and put your things in the overhead compartment. I watched people putting the backpacks and other items up there (and they did not pay). Additionally, nothing is for free on board- food and drinks will cost you (even a soda). The worst was not realizing you are assigned a seat (free), I got the middle seat (yay)! If you want to check in and select a seat, it will cost you $9 to $45 for any seat (they also do not recline)... Just crazy! My trip ended up costing me the same amount as a Virgin America ticket I passed up because it was too expensive."
Cons: "The man at the check in counter was rude and I sat in line waiting for over 30 minutes though I arrived at 2. The flight attendants were rude and not very courteous. The flight was also very turbulent. Worst flying experience and I've been flying since I was 5"
Pros: "I was able to sit down and the plane made it to my destination."
Cons: "Any airline that charges there passengers for water should be shut down. Come on guys! I can't get a drink of water on a long flight? At least some of the other airlines gives us something to drink and throws some peanuts at us. Zero entertainment as well, step your game up. Why don't you do TSA Pre Check? That leaves a bad taste in my mouth."
Pros: "The crew was nice and the flight was smooth. Can't complain too much about the price, although they try to nickle and dime you for everything (charging you for carry on bags)"
Cons: "They really cram you in there. I'm 6'-1" and basically couldn't move my legs. This is definitely a no-frills airline with no entertainment, power outlets, mediocre snacks, and then they give you a five minute sales pitch about their credit card."
Cons: "My whole trip was CANCELLED due to snow storm in Denver back in March and no availability to reschedule in a timely manner to be able to get to the East coast and get picked up!!! and spend the time I needed... YOU need to update your records and keep on top of things -"
Pros: "Flight on time, clean interior"
Cons: "Seats don't recline, drinks cost extra, checked bag costs more than other airlines and carry on is even more. Reserved seats are another added cost. In the end not such a cheap flight."
Pros: "The plane is clean and the crew nice."
Cons: "I'm sure you get this all the time and you clearly have thought about it but when you add up all of the ala carte extras, then the fact is another airline would likely be better. I spend $16 on the seat and $40 on the carry on. Interesting nickel and dime concept for sure. But then I get to the seat and it doesn't recline. OK, that's fine I guess I only paid $16 for the seat. But what's with that thing you call a "pull down tray". You can't get a computer on it, even my tiny MAC. So I put my briefcase on my lap and I guess made my own little table. That's a bit much."
Pros: "All was on time, crew was friendly, emergency on board was handled well."
Cons: "The seats are not movable, so you could not lean back a little. No screen for entertainment, tray table was less than half the normal size, uselss, snack choices, had little that one might consider healthy. A lot of junk food, and a huge offering of alcoholic beverages. Could we maybe have healthier food. It could still be pre-packaged somehow. Cost of carry on: $30. Checked suitcase: $25. That did not really make any sense, other than they make more money that way. Also irritating that if you want to have a specific seat, rather than waiting for what you might get at the airport, you have to call them, and pay $13 for a seat reservation. They are nickel and diming you, or rather in dollars. It is a rip off."
Cons: "Overall not happy with my Frontier experience. Extra charges for bags and seat assignment are really ridiculous if they aren't explained upfront. Would have booked on a different airline if I'd realized those fees would drive up my fare another $50. After all that the plane itself feels crowded and uncomfortable. Their "schedule" is also misleading and neither of my flights took off or landed as advertised. I also really hated watching flight attendants (people responsible for your safety!) finish each flight by pitching a credit card. Truly awful."
Cons: "When we obtained our boarding passes, the Assistant could not speak English very well and kept pointing at our computer screen from behind her desk-thanks, but we didn't need her help. Upon boarding, we were taken aside to have our bags checked. We were told that both bags needed to be checked, and it would be $60 per bag, total $120. We were not told why because again, the Assistants could not speak English. They again, just pointed at the sign on the side of their desk and to the bag measurements. One of the bags fit in the overhead compartment, and we were not told why we had to pay for it to be checked. The flight was at most 60% full. There was plenty of overhead space. On top of all of this, when we checked in for departure with the same airline, the Assistant told us both of our bags were free because the person with whom I was traveling was military!!"
Pros: "the crew and all personnel were very competent and nice. the flight itself was great - smooth, arrived early."
Cons: "Frontier charged fees much higher than any other airline for everything! Beginning with a small carry on suitcase that I have used for years with all airlines I had to pay $45 to carry on or $40 and the ticket counter. I only had a small purse in addition to the carry on suitcase. This made my flight to and from $80-$90 more expensive. Then if you chose a seat you had to pay extra - if you wanted a reclining seat you had to pay extra - the exit row seats were $50 more -you had to pay for sodas - pretzels - everything! I will NOT fly Frontier again - it is cheaper to fly a major airline without all the add on costs. Dianne Robinson"
Pros: "Simple straightforward."
Cons: "Will remember next time carry on bags round trip add extra $100 to fare. Seems deceptive."
Pros: "The seats were comfortable."
Cons: "I don't like the airlines' carry on policy of charging $45 if you bring a carry-on bag onboard to be placed in the overhead. It is a ridiculously fee, especially since once on board passengers are only offered water anything else has to be purchased. To some extent flying is a luxury and most will pay for that experience but Frontier was not luxurious and I will avoid flying Frontier in the future."
Cons: "Perhaps I should have - but I did not know that with Frontier airlines, you have to pay for every little thing. I booked Frontier because I wanted to take my daughters to see their Grandpa, perhaps for the last time and this was the best price I found. It wasn't a huge savings, but like many families every little bit helps. So you can imagine my surprise when we go to check in and I find I have to pay $45/ bag. And of course, this will happen both ways. So my savings just went far out the window."
Cons: "Not able to pick seat or board by check-in order to get a good seat"
Cons: "VERY unclear baggage rules - meaning I paid $100 extra for a checked bag after booking, and then also unnecessarily paid an extra $55 for a backpack at the airport because there was not notification on-screen that it was allowed as a personal bag. I then could not get a refund at the baggage counter because they don't do transactions. I am now trying to work out how to get a refund from Australia. I would have been better off taking any other airline and it would have been cheaper than these extra fees. I am so disappointed."
Pros: "On time relaxing flight"
Pros: "If you don't want to pay $100 for a bag of peanuts then this is the airline for you. You can buy nuts in the air if you really wanted to."
Pros: "Nothing, never got on the plane."
Cons: "I was stuck in traffic before the flight and arrived approximately 50min before the flight. By the time I finished fighting with the self check-in machine and talked to a person, it was about 45min before the flight and I was told I was too late and the plane had already boarded and was full. I asked if I could get on the next flight, but I was told the next flight from LAX to Oakland wasn't until 7AM the next morning. I wound up having to buy a last-minute, one-way ticket on American Airlines just to get where I was going. The man at the counter was very rude and dismissive about the whole thing."
Pros: "No delays. Boarding was efficient but not much else. Very basic."
Cons: "I wanted to bring a bag as hand luggage and had to pay $46 each way. I've flown loads and this is the first airline who has charged for carry on."
Cons: "Flight attendants"
Cons: "Seats were tight. No food or snacks served on a long flight"
Pros: "No delay was okay"
Pros: "Fortunately not a full flight - so was able to stretch out."
Cons: "Paying $55 for a carry on bag. Totally stupid. its $52 if you check it. No where does it tell you that in advance. Every drink even water you have to pay for. Check in is like a cattle area. Crazy"
Pros: "We had 6 flight time changes"
Cons: "We had 6 flight time changes. Dude WTF???"
Pros: "Plane wasn't packed! I love that. No delays except for an early arrival wait..."
Cons: "No wi-fi and desperate fees for bags was a hassle"
Cons: "They broke our suitcase on the way to BWI and then damaged it further on the way back. Spirit charges a fortune per pound in overweight and then can't even take care of your luggage properly. The seats are so uncomfortable and don't recline at all. We were delayed for 1 hour because they had an issue printing something for the pilot?! The flight attendants from BWI-Oakland were great actually but from Oakland- BWI they were nasty."
Pros: "The price was right!"
Cons: "I didn't like the web site as far as the check-in. The selection of seats was confusing!"
Pros: "Flight delayed 2 hours. I wished Spirit would have notified me prior to my arrival to the airport. Not a comfortable flight. Crew was okay, but the captain was great as he kept us abreast of any new developments while in the air."
Cons: "Deoay and lack of comfort"
Cons: "1. Hidden fees to choosing a seat -- $18 per flight, not cheap 2. Not able to easily check-in online. It appears that I have to sign up for some kind of account first 3. Seats do not tilt back. Very uncomfortable for coast-to-coast flights, especially redeye. 4. The return flight was delayed for 3 hours. Except for announcements from the podium, no email or text messages/updates before or during the delays."
Pros: "Cost of the trip was low compared to other airlines."
Cons: "Three hours delay because the pilot wasn't available. Seats do not recline and are narrow."
Cons: "Was delayed for two hours and then had to wait another hour at the gate for a pilot who showed up late. Didn't really update arrival times or get additional notification for the extra hour until I was on the plane."
Pros: "When I checked in the website did not indicate any seats had been assigned, nor were any available. But when I went to print boarding passes, my whole family had been assigned seats in the row across. What a nice surprise. Dropping luggage at BWI was really smooth, and attendant printed out boarding passes for us."
Cons: "Crew constantly announced for people not to congregate in the aisles waiting for the bathroom. Suggested people wait in their seats until the bathrooms were available, but this does not work unless you give people numbers, and call them up by number. Also, there is no forward indicator when the rear bathroom is available. Seats were miserably hard for a nearly 6 hour plane flight."
Pros: "On time"
Pros: "The attendant was pleasant"
Cons: "No snack or drink was offered on a 5+ hr flight. No blanket. Nothing. Not even water."
Cons: "Good fare??? Well add in $57 carry on charges, $50 checked bag fees, $25 SEAT fee!!!!, $10 to print boarding pass, $3 sodas.... and the flight attendant asking all of us to please set the timer on our phone for 5 hours and 35 minutes so they wouldn't have to tell people 100 times!"
Pros: "Leaving Spirit air"
Cons: "Check bag fee, high prices for food, charges for printing boarding passes, long lines, kiosks hat didn't work, flight attendants and counter people were loud and rude, very rude."
Cons: "Worst airline ever. No wifi, no free soda or crackers, bathrooms are filthy. This is a junk airline!"
Cons: "Seat comfort was poor but everything else was very good, flight crew, boarding crew were very helpful and pleasant."
Pros: "1) Friendliness and openness of the crew 2) good legroom (we paid extra for it)"
Cons: "1) web site charged our credit card to check a bag, but at ticket counter the agent insisted there was no record of this. We had to pay again to check our one bag! Now, we have to pursue a refund. 2) boarding pass was unreadable by the TSA scanner. 3) ticket agent didn't know the seating on the plane; insisted that we had reserved a window seat, which proved false. 4) seats very uncomfortable; no lumbar support. 5) surprisingly costly baggage fees, which erased the initial ticket price advantage. 6) $9 club name is misleading -- sounds like it costs $9.."
Cons: "I was running late because I got out of work late and then there was unusually terrible traffic from DC to Baltimore mid-day. The website wouldn't work to check in, the phone line had a 2 hour wait.. so I got to the airport 45 minutes before the flight was supposed to leave and I couldn't check in at the kiosk. By the time I waited in line, they wouldn't check me in with 30 minutes before the flight left, even though it was mid day so the security lines were short and I had TSA pre-check. The customer service agent, the manager and the manager's supervisor were all rude and unhelpful. The only flight was the next day, so they wouldn't re-book on any other airline.. so I was left to go buy another ticket from American as I had to be in Minneapolis that night. I don't recommend Spirit out of Baltimore to anyone."
Pros: "Flight crew"
Cons: "Bwi gate crew"
Pros: "Cheap stuff"
Cons: "Hidden fees. Bag fee was for overweight bag limit at 40 pounds instead of 50"
Pros: "Smooth ride. Got in exactly on time. Extra comfortable seats (big front seats, row 2)."
Cons: "The cheese on the cheese board is really low quality. Some of the worst I've tried ever. I think they could improve the quality of some of the snacks to match the nice liquor they offer. There should be outleast at least if there is 0 entertainment offered. Since absolutely no wifi or entertainment is available, obviously we are relying on our handheld devices for entertainment on this long cross-country flight."
Cons: "They cancelled my flight last minute because they didn't have enough crew members and the next flight was the following day at 4:48pm and I would've gotten to D.C. At 12:30 am Sunday...never booking spirit ever again. They just refunded me with nothing else....no voucher, nothing. I missed out on my sisters graduation ceremony and got charged for hotel cuz it was last minute"
Pros: "Captain made up time"
Cons: "It was ok"
Cons: "Everything. Im disgusted by Spirit. We had Baltimore trip for Memorial weekend. After lying for hours by the crew , guess what a pilot did not show up. I don't suggest Spirit to anyone. It was not even the cheap flight. I bought it just because the time was right. Never ever flying to Spirit again."
Cons: "-The fees quickly added up to the same as other comparable flights. -We had booked two evening flights, both of which were rescheduled several times, then cancelled - pushing flights to the next day. -Please keep in mind that if they cancel your flight you are entitled to full refund of all amounts paid. -After refunding $900 in expenses, Spirit charged a $150 cancellation fee and some $40 strange fee. These amounts should not have been taken out for a refund when the airline is at fault and after some hassle, they refunded the full amount. -When you value your time, do not fly Spirit."
Cons: "Both flights were delayed 1.5 - 3 hours. The seats on the 6 hour flight were extremely uncomfortable"
Cons: "My Oakley sunglasses in my checked luggage did not make it back from my flight. I should have paid a little more for money for a better airline. I am not a large guy and both of my shoulders were both in my neighbors seats. The fold down tray, my cell phone is bigger. All of my flights were delayed, some more than others. Never again Spirit. Trying to save a few bucks and had to spend $50+ per check bag and lost a $160 pair of shades."
Pros: "Price was low and arrival was in timely matter. Direct flight from east to west coast."
Cons: "Expensive cocktails."
Pros: "Great crew. Fairly fast boarding. I guess people just don't bring extra stuff to be charged. I like the smooth and quick boarding. Very friendly agent at the ticket counter. I brought my own food and water. So it's great not to spend money."
Cons: "Not seen anything bad."
Pros: "We didn't crash."
Cons: "WE had to sit and wait for crew to arrive so our flight left late. Our seats were very hard and uncomfortable. One flight attendant was very crabby and was constantly sighing and giving dirty looks, even walked right into me in the aisle. We will never use this airline again. Oh, and an added bonus: Paying $57 to take a carry on bag on the plane."
Pros: "Crew were nice"
Pros: "Refunded my ticket with no issues"
Cons: "First, they cancelled my 8am flight at 10pm the night before with no notification. I happened to see it and call to rebook on the next flight, but if I hadn't been checking the flight status I'm not sure what would have happened when I got to the airport. Then, the 10am rebooked flight was delayed for over 2 hours - with basically no communication from the gate agents and no updates to the expected departure time. Ended up getting a refund and rebooking on Southwest - which was a perfectly smooth experience, huge contrast to the clusterf*** of flying Spirit."
Cons: "I didn't like anything. Will never book with Kayak or spirit. My flight from Chicago to Minneapolis was cancelled and I have still not got my refund. Pathetic!"
Cons: "Myself and fifteen year old daughter exited plane from Ft. Myers to grab a quick bite to eat and upon returning to same plane with printed boarding passes and assigned seats our boarding passes did not scan correctly. At this time there was about 30 or so people behind us to board as there was plenty of time. We were asked to step aside and a employee was trying to figure things out. In the meantime ALL people in line were allowed on plane even though several had problems but were quickly fixed! At last second we were told to board the plane and try to find two seats. Only one was left on flight and we were told they had to leave and sorry but we must exit plane! Worst I have ever been treated by an airline ever in all my years of travel! I did get some money compensation, rented a car and drove 13 hours to Chicago! Awful way to end a vacation!"
Pros: "We were treated terribly by your airline and Flight Network. The flight schedule changed and no one told us."
Cons: "Any things"
Cons: "I had 2 tickets booked for Boston on November 17th at 5:58pm. I tried to check in online for both travelers, but according to Spirit Airlines website, you cannot check 2 tickets from the same account. When I arrived at BWI airport and went to the Spirit Airlines desk the lady told me that the flight is closed even though it was still not boarding time yet. I explained to her what happened and asked for cooperation, but she just kept repeating that flight is closed and next flight is in 2 days, which I couldn't wait for, because of the scheduled appointments that I had in Boston. In general the service was terrible and the website platform didn't work right. I had tk pay $250 dollars for last minute ticket while I already lost the money for the first two tickets."
Pros: "While I appreciate the cheaper price point for the flight, it reminds me a lot like a doctor with no bedside manner. Sure you need the service and sure you need an operation, but he could careless about how you feel. You are not his main priority. Spirit Airlines is a militant first-order type that sees its money-paying customer as a means to an end. 2 contrasting points of view: Delta V. Spirit One time I flew on a Delta flight that was late arrive to the gate by 30 minutes. The gate attendants wheel a giant cart out full of snacks, soda, and the like. They announced the situation and gave us all the opportunity to have as many snacks as we wanted. This past flight I flew on Spirit. At both Baltimore and Atlanta the gate attendants didn't give us any clue about our flights until it had arrived. Our first flight was delayed by 1 hours. Then 2 hours. Then an hour before the flight, I got an email that said it would be on time. Thankfully the email also had the gate number because Spirit obviously won't even spring for a working screen at their gate. We moved to the right gate to find they didn't even have a screen with any information. The flight back from Atlanta was pretty much the same, except they had a working screen (which is a plus.) Our flight was delayed and didn't arrive until our departure time. The gate attendant never told us this. We understood it was late because we could see no plane at the gate."
Cons: "The cheaper price point."
Pros: "I received a phone call from Spirit representative John who left a message stating that my departure flight time has changed and to call back. Upon vsll back I spoke with s female (did not get her name) who told me there will be s two hour delay, flight leaves Baltimore at 9:24 pm. Also told me to go back to website to print nee boarding pass and there will not be a 2 nd charge for the seat. When I logged back in around 6:40pm, (extended my workday so I didn't wait around at the terminal), there were no changes to the original departure time for the flight. So, I called Spirit again, spoke with Todd - I'D#41987 who said, no - flight 443 leaves at 7:42pm! Hence, I requested s refund and cancelled. There was no way that I could get to the airport in time for the flight. I didne request a Saturday morning flight because at that point, I lost total faith that there wouldn't be issues on the return flight from Florida. I will never, NEVER again make any travel plans that include Spirit. All they are interested in is signing people up for the credit car offering bonus fly poinft??? Duh!"
Cons: "See above..."
