But they tried very hard to make thing up to us, which goes a long way to making us feel like we are valued customers!"

That said, you should not be required to hold your arm out and hold the seat back in front of you so that you are not elbowing or shouldering the people beside you. sitting sideways on a seat I paid extra for doesn't seem like a great flight to me."

Attendant, when he finally appeared, seemed, to this traveler at least, unengaged, abrupt, even rude, certainly not as welcoming and helpful ad other UA counter attendants at busier airports and at more demanding times. The word lazy comes to mind. The same individual handled the gate. His demeanor there was similar. If it is UA policy to leave counters unattended, an explanation should be posted; if present policy requires one individual to handle counter and gate duties, perhaps more help is needed. This experience, all the more frustrating when a passenger ruses early so as to comply with recommended arrival and boarding times, combined with the fact that the incoming flight significantly delayed AVL to Washington depart setting the tone for a mostly mediocre experience crowned by a painful trek from terminal A to terminal C to catch the connection to PVD. Not a best effort by UA. Outstanding flight and cabin crews saved the day."

Cons: "This flight was actually from Denver to Kona. There was 1.5 hour delay due to mechanical issue with plane, so we had to switch gates and planes. That wasn't so bad. What made it bad was an extra 45 minute delay because apparently maintenance forgot to sign off on the new plane. Also, the space below the seat for my feet and carry-on was unacceptable. All the aisle seats like mine had only half the space of the window seats for their feet. If you're in an aisle seat on that plane, it's impossible to fit anything but the size of a small purse under the seat in front of you. And the middle seat fares only a bit better. Finally, with 7 hours of flight time plus about an hour waiting to depart from gate on plane, the crew ignorantly decided to hand out the Hawaii form to fill out within 2 minutes of preparing to land. Many people didn't have time to fill out the form before being required to put tray tables up. Fortunately, these forms aren't as serious as going thru customs, but it's stupid to pass out the forms that late into the flight expecting people to complete them."

They only give you 2 cookies and a drink for a 5 hour flight. The entertaiment was not present for 98% of the flight even when it says that wifi is available and to choose the movies or shows from their website. There's no disclaimer saying wifi does not work over the sea which was thru almost the entire flight. When you could finally connect to it, it wouldn't load. Most airplanes have an entertainment system in the back of the seat even for less than 3 hour flights but not on this one. Very disappointing."

Then From medford to san fransisco There was no explanation cancellation, no one at counter for hours to figure out something else, no apology for inconvience, no vouchers for hotel or food since i had to stay at one since flight left so early in am. I had less then 10 mins to get from medford plane to denver plane. Thats running and up 2 flights of stairs and getting to door in nick of time. I missed a day of work and basically unless an emergency i wont fly united again."

Cons: "I'm usually a patient person, but my flight was supposed to leave at 525am and didn't leave until 730. This was the first flight in the morning. We boarded, waiting 30 minutes on the plane, they told us to get off because there were computer issues. Why wasn't that checked before everybody was boarded? Once we got on the plane we had to wait another 30 minutes for the crew to get someone's luggage from under the plane. Why wasn't that done while the computer was getting fixed? I didn't get to Denver until 1040am missed my flight and didn't get to get on my connection until 500pm. In the meantime I called to get on a different flight at 1, but the guy on the phone didn't actually book me a seat. The gate people weren't very nice."
