Crew members were not very friendly. The flight felt rushed with not much communication from the cockpit. One of the bins was left open during take off. No food or drinks were served supposedly due to turbulence but the turbulence was not that bad.
The AA flight attendant’s attitude could have been better. She should take lessons from the fantastic JAL crew.

I booked this reservation in May and had a seat chosen fairly toward the front. I am 73 years old and the closer to the front I can be helps. When I finally got on the plane to my surprise my seat was the very last seat on the plane across from the restroom. People continued to leave the door open after using the restroom so had to get up and continue to close the door or look at the restroom the whole flight. There was never any explanation as to why they did this. As a result, being lst off the plane, I almost missed my connection as I had to go two terminals over for my connection. At my age I cannot run so I arrived as the last people were getting on the plane. I will never fly American Airlines again."

Instead of passing us over to another wheelchair attendant as we needed to switch terminals, he stayed with us thru the terminal change until we were on the airplane. We needed to get our boarding passes at Heathrow from a different airline and he helped us with this. Kudos to him!! The attendants on this flight were very helpful when my husband was having a diabetic reaction and I was vomiting form air motion sickness. We were a mess!! However the flight attendants were sure we had a wheelchair in Chicago and helped us with our bags as we were exiting the plane. Nice Job"

The attendants at the counter were not that efficient with rescheduling itineraries, as they were often taking breaks, engaging in chit-chat with other workers, and answering personal phone calls during the process. On the connecting flight back, the ground crew "was not ready" for the plane and advised us to "hang out". This made for very little time in finding my connecting flight home (especially because the assigned gate was not even listed in the airport terminal). Not overly dramatic. Just a lot of small things that culminated in a very frustrating travel day. I will likely be avoiding American Airlines in the future."

Cons: "When they have published on their website that a personal item sized 14 x 18 x 8 inches and fits under the seat in front of you flies free don’t believe them. I measured my bag and the dimensions published on their website were the EXACT measurements of my bag with all wheels and handles included they still charged me $45 to carry on the plane. The bag even fit into the luggage measuring thing they had at the gate. The only thing sticking out of it were my wheels by 1/2 of an inch. When I measured at home they were even within the measurements posted on their website so I think the luggage measuring tool they use was off. Even it it weren’t, this is a completely discretionary issue that is COMPLETELY up to the agent you deal with. I am an elite traveler with many different travel brands and I’ve had a bag weigh 53 pounds and the agent has let it slide and I’ve had others that were very “by the book” which is fine. A policy is a policy and I respect that completely but this was downright wrong because I know without a doubt that my measurements were correct and even the weight of less than 35 pounds was correct. They also didn’t let me see if it would fit underneath the seat in front of me before charging me. Had they offered that and then if it didn’t made me pay I would have been ok with that but none of this was allowed. My suggestion is not to get caught in their dirt cheap airfare because they will find a way to screw you in the end. They lost a customer for life over $45 dollars. I went all the way to customer service management over the phone and all they did was credit me $15 for the issue which wasn’t fair in my opinion because of all the hoops I had to jump through to get that done was exhausting. Think before you click “BOOK NOW”! The airline overall was less than mediocre as well. Definitely nothing worth flying again even if I hadn’t had the issue I had. I’d pay more for more next time."

When I had dinner in an airport restaurant and mentioned the situation (with the airline remaining anonymous), the waiter immediately knew which airline I was talking about and said they are known for providing lousy customer service."

Boarding was chaos, they did not adhere to the zones in the Memphis boarding. No food, no entertainment - nothing to rank there."
