My first airline trip in 4 years. Normally I’d fly Virgin or Jet Blue, but this was the best fare and schedule for me. I figured I could suck it up for 4 hours. My seat was upgraded without my asking for one and I was very pleased with the entire trip. No issues whatsoever. Arrived early. Awesome crew. There was a time when I would not even consider American Airlines. Now I will definitely do it again. Great flight. CLT to LAX 09.04.21
The plan was late leaving missed connection, waited 3 hours for next flight.
Pros: "The crew was friendly, the cabin and bathrooms were very clean and the separation among passengers was unexpected and great"
Cons: "My flight was laid over due to weather so it may have been helpful to get a new boarding pass as we left the cancelled flight and maybe a voucher to help with hotel & food."

Pros: "The AA staff was incredibly nice to us. The facilities our check in at DCA that got us on faster and the staff at CLT very nicely got us on to an earlier flight. They were awesome!"

She argued about throwing away a drink that she poured, didn’t care to explain things to passengers when asked i. e. why charging outlets were not in service, and her tone was rude ..."

Pros: "Fast boarding, flight relatively smooth, got to my destination pretty quickly as well."
Cons: "Flight canceled with zero re-book.assistance offered and NO seats left. I was forced to upgrade to get to my destination a day late. Trip was short to begin with. I booked plenty in advance. I want my 55m miles back in my account. It was that or $1000. Unhappy customer."

Cons: "We left more than two hours late because of a mechanical issue with the plane that wasn’t caught until all passengers had boarded the plane. We were forced to deboard the plane after an hour of waiting."

Cons: "They could have delivered on the most important aspect on-time arrival. I know that a mechanical issue delays such as tires however ongoing maintenance should prevent these delays. Your failure to deliver on your promise impacted my ability to deliver on mine."

Cons: "I went to the airport. I was told a 3hr delay. I only live 10 mins to the airport. So I went back home to only receive a notification that the flight has departed after 45 mins. I am now stuck here since that was the last flight back. The earliest flight available is next day at 12pm which means I am going to miss work and I have been on hold with AA customer service exactly for 3 hrs now and still holding."

Pros: "Nothing, Heathrow has come so far along, especially if you’re an E.U member traveling through on a connection flight. It was awful-the A.A crew members were rude and actually beyond belief still had jobs. I refused beverage, dinner and light meal services. I got attitude for ordering 2 beeers at once instead of wine for dinner-pure I requested Premium Economy a couple days before and even offered to pay it then-no luck C32 G I got. And to fly in Chicago? You got to be kidding me-never again."
Cons: "See above-never ever-ever again. Something about A.A and Chicago just sucks. Immigration, claim your own luggage to just give it to someone else in a different line, going through security a 3rd time. I’m sticking with B.A and A.F for know own. I will never be stuck in economy on A.A international flight of such poor quality again-purgatory."

Cons: "The entertainment system lost power in my section about 30 minutes into a ten hour flight, and while some of that time was spent sleeping I wasn't even able to turn on the reading light. I know the flight attendants tried several times to restart the system and I appreciate that, but there were several dark lonely hours spent waiting for dawn."
Pros: "The airplane was new. It had power plug and entertainment at each seat. It has a fabulous selections of entertainment for all ages. Comfortable seats as well."
Cons: "The crew only came offered drinks 1 time for a 5 hours flight. They did come by to offer room temperature water mid way through the flight. Food choices were minimal."
Pros: "Staff did seem empathetic and offered substantial tips on how to find out about connecting flights. Also a promotional offer for the aa credit card had a sweetened points offer. I also liked the general structure of the plane made it easy to see if the lavatory was occupied or not."
Cons: "Plane pulled away from the gate knowing we were delayed (or so it seemed). Subsequent delays meant we were stuck on the plane and couldn't briefly disembark."

The excuse given by the airline was that they had changed planes and the new plane didn't have a seat 13F. Instead, the equivalent was row 40. I was told that I could pay more and more up to row 25, but that all the lower rows were full. When I asked the service rep to refund the difference, I was told I had to fill out a form online. I was told there are no humans with whom a customer can speak that can process a refund."

The flight attendant, Angel lives up to her name- what an angel! I love her! She was so helpful and attentive and patient. My daughter spilled some juice on her shorts and not only did Angel help me clean up my daughter, she did not hesitate to pick up my daughter’s dirty shorts and neatly packaged it away for me! She went above and beyond her future to provide THE BEST customer service and flight I’ve had in over 20+ years of flying. Thank you, Angel, please continue to excel at exceptional customer service professional!

Download flight attendants waited too long to inform us of the need and the download was too slow, so I only had access to the overhead screen movies. Also I had reserved seats (window and aisle) and they were changed the day before the flight to two center seats. Not happy about that at all."

Cons: "United has changed my seat twice. I sign up for an aisle and they move me to the window. I can't believe that if there is a plane change they move people in Business and First around without notification. On this trip, they did it again, on the flight leg from Rome to Chicago. If I hadn't noticed the change as soon as I checked in I would have spent over 9 hours in a window seat, which would have meant being unable to get up and move easily to prevent sciatica and other issues. Hard to hear the gate crew in Fiumicino."

Cons: "I went to the gate agent who was rude, no smile - just said "I have to get checked in I will call you". I waited . She beckoned across for my name. Then called me up with her finger. She asked if I had a ticket (hadn't looked for my name correctly) she told me I'd have to wait until all had boarded and a volunteer gave up their seat. I did get on(last one)- Never a smile or an explanation. Will not fly united again. There are plenty of choices."
Pros: "The plane was new and the seats were comfortable. It was a decent size plane. It wasn't crowded, so folks could spread out and sleep since it was a late evening flight."
Cons: "There were only about 12 people on the flight, and they made 6 of us wait past boarding time until the others arrived. I wanted to get on and get settled, so this was an annoyance to me. There was no beverage or snack service, which I assume was because it was a short flight. However, my itinerary showed a longer flight, so I didn't pre purchase any beverages, I was thirsty the entire flight."
