Pros: Excellent service.
Pros: On time
Cons: Everything. Major delays lost vacation times
Pros: The crew was clearly concerned with the covid rules, but just as concerned for passenger's needs. Outstanding performance in difficult circumstances.
Cons: Missed connecting flight to El Paso and had to wait for hours in the airport on standby
Cons: No comments
Pros: The price.
Cons: Flight was delayed for 2 hours in Airbus 777 full of passengers. The reason was to fix some light and administrative error on a log book. This could have been prevented if they had done all of the checks beforehand. All of those passengers stuck in a plane during a pandemic. Not very smart !!!!
Pros: On time take off and the fact that we arrived alive.
Cons: Hot meals and inflight entertainment. No even drinks were served.
Pros: Great service and comfortable; well sanitized.
Cons: TV screens for movies and shows.
Cons: Great flight
Pros: I was lucky enough not to be put into a middle seat or next to a stranger during this pandemic.
Cons: No social distancing and no enforcement of wearing a mask properly. Wearing one on your chin or half of your mouth with your nose hanging out needs to be corrected. Empty seats should be utilized for social distancing regardless of fare. First class and the back half of the planes were practically empty while everyone was in the center. We should have been allowed to spread out.
Pros: Crew was snappy in getting people in plane and checking in carry ons since occupancy had been reached.
Cons: Lack of adjustable headrest on seat.
Cons: The flight was delayed.
Pros: Crew was fine.
Cons: The first class seats on these newer 737-800s are VERY disappointing. Width is ok, but legroom is on par with economy expectations. With my tray out and the person in front of me reclined, I could barely see my laptop. There is also very little space under the seats, especially for the aisle seat.
Pros: Smooth ride
Cons: The flight attendant that helped passengers in the main cabin was rude, lacked empathy, and lacked resourcefulness. She argued about throwing away a drink that she poured, didn’t care to explain things to passengers when asked i. e. why charging outlets were not in service, and her tone was rude ...
Pros: The attendant for my area was amazing. I was in the back of the plane and he was friendly. He helped me look for my power cord. He is an outstanding member of your team!
Cons: Nope, this was a great flight!
Pros: Crew was great!
Pros: Trip went smoothly
Pros: Equipment was adequate. I liked the on board emergency instructions!
Cons: Boarding was chaotic—no lines, just a mass of people all trying to get to the same place. The crew did their job but weren’t particularly friendly.
Cons: Potentially of hiccups and things outside of AA control. Better, more comfortable seats would be nice.
Pros: Checking in with my Mum who needs assistance was excellent.
Cons: Lack of Entertainment.
Cons: Crampt space, cold cabin
Cons: Long delay
Pros: Everyone was super friendly. The plane was clean and comfortable and the food was great for airplane food.
Pros: Generally, the stewardess are new (slow service), but very kind and considerate.
Cons: I take this flight quite a lot. These comments are for this flight (MIA/MSP) - but not necessarily only for this exact flight that I took on 10/1. To be clear - the crew says "this is not AA", it is Republic Airlines". Well, they must think of themselves very poorly. Their food in first class is always changing - oh, I meant only the names for the same exact meal change. "Grilled Chicken with Couscous", "Grilled Chicken with Risotto", etc.. - all cold meals as they do not have an oven/microwave? on the plane. They are charging first class international prices for economy domestic service. For this amount of money, they should have better meals and a more modern airplane. The first class is always freezing (even in summer) while the rear cabin where the crew stays when not working, is hot. So if they make the first class happy with the correct temperature, they cook in the back. I have also observed more people than usual coughing and getting colds - both ways - than any of the other flights I take regularly (over 115,000 miles on AA this year). I would suggest that AA make it clear that Republic must offer better service to their customers - especially for the large airfares they are receiving.
Pros: The flight was on time, cabin crew looked nice and professional, AA stuff at the airport of departure was very helpful with complicated check-in procedure.
Cons: It was a short flight (less than an hour) and only complimentary drinks were offered, no little snacks (like pretzels, peanuts or cookies).
Pros: Let's see - I was in first class. The flight itself was fine - and only one hour + late!
Cons: Food - Served the "breakfast" (when it was called a protein plate) I had coming (into MSP). for "lunch" on the way back (called it a meat plate for lunch. One slice turkey, one slice jamon, one egg, cinnamon roll and fruit. Just because they don't want to serve bread - they call it a protein plate? I'm not on a protein diet. Food was pretty sick for the amount I paid for the fight. Stewardess said it was against Republic's rules to give a customer a can of tonic water (so I could add to the small amount of vodka) - she also told me that it was against Delta's, American's and United's rules to give a can - strange? First Class seat did not recline. First Class was freezing per every flight on this segment (the stewardesses sit in the back and don't want to be uncomfortable - if they make the front warm - the back is too hot for them (not joking on this one). So many things to list - that I will finish on the AA site.
Cons: Poor service
Cons: Dallas to San Juan San Juan Dallas American Airlines has the worst seat of any airline flown by us fare almost 2000 dollars for round trip and the seat is small hard uncomfortable even for a short flight this is no business class!!
Pros: Called 1-800 hotline and got a new flight
Cons: Was at gate onntime for flight. At boarding time passengers were informed if there was an issue with the plane and maintenance is on their way to check out the problem. 30 minutes later we were still till that maintenance is on their way. One hour later there is still no information as far as when the fight will leave but they kept updating the boarding time. There was only one person of the counter who could help re-assign passengers to different flights due to their layovers. After waiting in line for 40 minutes and the line making no movement I called the airline 1-800 hundred number and explain my situation to the American Airlines Airlines representative. they really give me a new flight that left 20 minutes later after my call if I did not call I would not mean it that flight nor any other fights that morning because they're all in the afternoon.
Pros: On time
Cons: Cold cabin
Pros: Boarding staff helped me change to a seat that was suited better for my child and I- I was SO grateful. During the flight, flight staff made sure my child was happy/comfortable which meant a lot to me.
Cons: The normal things- better cushioned seats with some lumbar for those of us with back/nerve issues; a little wider seat options in economy for heavier people or those with lap infants; Honestly I’m reaching because I was just really happy with my flight/plane/crew service.
Cons: Took off late from Minneapolis only to announce that there was something wrong with the plane, no explanation as to what but that we had to circle to burn off fuel before returning to Minneapolis. Switched to a flight to D.C. with a connection to get to LGA. As soon as we sat down on that flight an announcement was made that we wouldn't make our connecting flight. Got to D.C. and asked to switch to go into Westchester instead of LGA which we were denied. So changed to another connecting flight to LGA that didn't take off on time. Offered nothing for any of the inconveniences. Etc.
Cons: Last minute cancellation and reschedule if original flight with 20 people hounding the gate for standby status. Craziness. These last minute revisions mist stop
Cons: delayed 2 hrs in perfect weather
Pros: Schedule was punctual. The entertainment was superb. Good crew. The overhead bins were, for some reason, larger which aided the boarding process.
Cons: I guess the lack of snack options but that is just the way it is nowadays.
Pros: The crew was friendly and competent.
Cons: Airlines have an industry wide problem. They INTENTIONALLY make every part of flying miserable so that passengers will pay anything to make it less painful. For example... if you want to make boarding quicker, build the cost of checked luggage into ticket prices so that you don't have people carrying everything on and clogging up the process. Or use the existing and publicly available research to improve boarding mechanisms... but that would mean you lose an opportunity to squeeze extra cash out of people for 'priority boarding'. This phenomenon is real, and currently be investigated by congress. Call your senator.
Pros: Nice crew clean airplane
Cons: Initial flight was cancelled after 2 hours delay. My next flight was scheduled the earliest possible by AA which was 24 hours later. No transportation, hotel or miles compensation for this. I had work and responsabilities the next day. TThe scheduled trip was supposed to take off at 7:45. Boarding started late and was very slow. My bag fit the meassurements and still was forced to check it (which I did not want to do as I did not want to be waiting an hour for my bag at my arrival as I had work early the next day. In addition there was airplaine traffic as it was "rush hour" instead of flying at 7:45 we departed almost at 9pm!!!! Have to pay for food Quality of tv monitors very poor And in an uncomfortable position No movie options No wifi although stated the aircraft has Non functioning electrical plug
Cons: Flight was cancelled we were re-routed and didn't get there until 24hours later.
Pros: The pilot was a riot, the flight was on time. Again, nothing wrong, nothing special. As it should be (if only we had more leg and seat room, and I am pretty streamline).
Pros: It was nice that I had a seat empty next to me, allowing for extra room. Flight was a little early in landing in Dallas, allowing for extra time for a short layover to find my terminal and gate for my next flight.
Cons: All was good.
Pros: The food, in flight entertainment and attention to detail by the Flight Attendants was very good.
Cons: The personnel handling the front desk at check in gave myself and others bad information about how to check a bag. Which resulted in me being called to the desk at the gate about 30 minutes prior to boarding and being told I screwed up checking my bag when I was just following the instructions given to me. Was then told I had to leave the secure area of the airport, go back to the front to check my bag all within 30 minutes of boarding. when I returned thru the TSA checkpoint they were rude, obviously, but more importantly the flight was boarding early. So you could've 1. told me what the actual procedure is for checking my bag instead of telling me "just leave it by the green lit up check mark then 2. told me at the gate that not only do i need to go fix your mistakes for you but that youd also board my flight early thereby putting me in jeopardy of missing my flight. all i got was a very insincere apology when I complained up front and at the gate about the airline's screw up. i get that you're all human like me and make mistakes but the customer is always right. there was a time in this country when customer appreciation and service were important standards and qualities businesses thrived on. Don't know what happened to those days... Also i should not need to be a first class passenger to get a meal during a flight. whatever happened to meals for everyone? you (all airlines in the US) charge way too much money and provide poor service compared to pre-9-11 days. I dont see how one event can justify the loss in service but the increase in ticket price. you should all get back to what flying should be about: fun and time saving.
Cons: Think it is ridiculous that I had to pay so much to select a seat ahead of time, and it was just a regular seat. I can understand for extra legroom or exit row, but for a regular seat, that is ridiculous. Then there was a fee to change priority boarding, so I could ensure I was able to have my carry-on with me, instead of risk having it go underneath. Unable to use the entertainment, as I was unaware had to use my own device, which I had not set up in advance.
Pros: The staff tried to help as much as possible.
Cons: I called American Airlines as ssoon as I book my trip to set up and make sure my small dog could fly with me. They neglected to inform me their partner, jetstar, does not fly animals. My luggage did not arrive with me. Both of my suitcases were mangled and broken. Items in my suitcases were shattered and crushed even though they were well packed and protected. We got stuck on the terminal in MSP and missed our connecting flight. When we finally arrived the systems were down and could not get new flights or hotels. We were told we could not get hotels and had to argue for an hour. Even though it was a maintenance issue. I arrived a day late and had to take extra leave. The plane from LAX to Tokyo was horrific. I booked a window seat, was stuck in the very middle. There was no way to charge outlets devices. The screen did not work. And my new luggage was also damaged with even more items destroyed.
Pros: Nothing. My fight from San Juan to Miami on Friday Oct. 7 was cancelled because of hurricane Matthews, since I didnot buy a roundtrip with AA they did not reimburse or offer me a credit for my returning flight. I contacted AA in two ocassions and both times their personnel were impersonal and even rude to me with the whole situation. I ended up losing $250 because of choosing American Airlines. I will do my best to avoid traveling with American ever again, and I will spread the word, as well. I felt robbed, so unfair.
Pros: the crew is fantastic
Cons: normally a meal and other entertainment services are included when upgrading to first class. it even indicated such items would be included when i purchased my upgrade. Very disappointed i wasted my money.
Cons: They didn't give my parents who are in their 80s seats together, that's not right.
Pros: The crew was really good, made sure our needs were met.
Cons: The seats were quite crammed.
Pros: The crew were very nice and the seats were comfy.
Cons: I would have liked a snack instead of just a beverage alone.
Cons: Internet WiFi
Pros: Seem to be a smooth and direct flight
Cons: The flight was fine however my seat was next to the bathroom and people would occasionaly Bump in to me .
Cons: It was the first of three flights. I was automatically rebooked on a flight that didn’t allow nearly enough time to make my connection. United didn’t want to help because only one of the flights was really theirs. Same with Swiss Air. It was a terrible beginning to my trip. I lost money on shuttle fair since I never went to Minneapolis, too.
Pros: I cant say nothing but can say everything was good
Cons: I cant say nothing but can say everything was good
Cons: Our flight was delayed out of Mpls 2 hours so we had to rebook everything since we would miss our connection in Denver to Honolulu. The process of rebooking was terrible -- took almost 2 hours standing in line and the booking agent wasn't knowledgable Had to make an additional stop in LAX and arrived in Honolulu 5 hours later than we were supposed to. VERY disappointing experience all around!
Pros: Service and respect very good
Pros: The friendliness of the crews.
Cons: The landing was a little bumpy.
Pros: The price of a ticket is slightly lower. It is not enough of a difference to make the plethora of inconveniences worth it. You are not a valued customer with this fare. If United values customers, they shouldn't offer this fare. That's why I don't fly the bargain airlines.
Cons: You can't check in at the kiosk on basic economy without an employee badge swipe, and there were no employees available. I had to stop checking in, wait in line, and then the employee that I talked to didn't have the right kind of badge to swipe. So I waited again. Extremely inconvenient. Even after being forced to talk to a ticket agent at check in, they still won't issue a seat. So you have to go to the gate and wait in line again to get a seat. The system is built for maximum inefficiency. It doesn't cost less for them to make me talk to two separate people, it is only to inconvenience the flyer for buying a cheaper ticket. It seems like a punitive system. Boarding was organized and painless. The crew seemed polite. Regarding comfort, the "leg room" on the airbus is ridiculous. I am average height and felt claustrophobic. I can't imagine how a tall person feels. There was no " entertainment" on my flight, so one star for that. I didn't not receive any food and was not offered water, 1 star.
Pros: Very friendly staff. Very smooth bag check. It was crowded but the line moved quickly. Boarding was very organized and easy to maneuver. The flight was very enjoyable and we actually landed 20 minutes early. United has once again provided an excellent flying experience!
Cons: There was no part of the entire united experience I did not like.
Pros: Easy boarding, on time take off
Cons: Arrived early (yay), but had to sit on the runway for 45 minutes waiting for a gate and ended up getting to the gate later than the original expected time. Pretty ridiculous.
Pros: The at the entrance new service it was a good experience for me. I have physical problems and that service was an amazing relief for me. Thanks
Cons: Everything was good.
Cons: It was not made clear at all that I was buying a basic economy ticket and was not going to be allowed to take a carry on. That was really frustrating.
Pros: $155 roundtrip cost with limitations described before purchasing tickets. It would be much better to at least be able to take a backpack as a carry-on, but all costs were included in the price except luggage and that was reasonable at $25/bag.
Cons: Not being able to take a backpack as a carry-on
Cons: There was no provided entertainment
Pros: Very nice large roomy airplane
Pros: On time, no delays.
Pros: Easy in/out of the plane.
Cons: Wifi Entertainment wasn't working.
Pros: I liked the new, immaculately clean plane that appeared to have more leg room between seats, which also appeared to recline more than my recent United Flights. Other rows appeared to be quite comfortable. I don't like the only flight options into Aquadilla to be so late at night. There is enough of a demand into and out of this airport to have at least a few daytime flights.
Cons: After having changed my seat and choosing the last row, I realized that those seats had been squashed into the remaining space in the cabin. It did not allow for as much leg room as other seats and being the last row, the seats did not incline. My own fault for selecting this row however, I wish it had been mentioned when I made the selection. Also, the entertainment was only available through an APP on one's Smart Phone. This assumes everyone has a smart phone, the correct plan and the knowledge to use said app. Too much reliance on technology when the "old way" worked just fine for more customers. The Crew was fantastic......very accommodating without being over bearing.
Pros: Being on time
Cons: Flight delayed and sat on tarmac. For 1/2 hour
Pros: Room for my luggage
Cons: Boarding was unnecessarily disorganized. Boarding announcement didn't specify which flight. Use of group lines was not explained ahead of actual boarding. Employees did not always use microphone to explain boarding. Very noisy group of travelers on board on night flight. Bathroom sink area too small.
Cons: Landing at dulles - we had to deplane from the outside. Would be nice to have it connected so we walk from plane to covered ramp inside to airport. Didn't serve a snack and they usually do.
Pros: One of the best flights I have ever been on! Everything was right on time.
Cons: Unable to pre-check online. Unable to check at the check in machines--had to go up and check in at the counter, long wait because there was only one clerk. We were then given a ticket just to get through security and had to check in a second time when we get to the gate for seat assignment, which is ridiculous. Why couldn't that be done at the 1st check-in? The clerk told me she will call me when she has the seat assignment/ boarding ticket but she never did and I had to go back up to ask for them when it was getting close to boarding time. At the last moment minutes, volunteers could check in their carry on for free....It would have been nice (and less hassle) to have that option at the 1st check-in.
Pros: We like everything, no a problem at all! United made our flight excellent!
Cons: The dalay at Newark
Cons: I'm 6'tall...NOT that tall and felt cramped the entire time.
Pros: The staff was friendly
Pros: a lot of the times the planes are freezing, would like to see pillows and blankets offered more in economy
Pros: plenty of leg room and space
Cons: There were 3 delays and 3 gate changes ....very inconvenient Rude to dismissive employees (mostly Chicago o'hara)
Pros: Nice folks and getting on was not a chore. Overall it was between good and excellent.
Cons: My wife and I got to sit together, due to the courtesy of a GI moving so we could. Our 12 yr old grand daughter was one row behind and across the aisle from us.
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: Airplane was damaged and united wouldn't rebook us until the flight was officially cancelled hours later. Then United provided only one service person to address all of the passengers needs so we had to stand in line for a couple hours longer. Then they had no hotel rooms to put anybody up for the night that couldn't get a flight until the next day. Then they gave us a measly $10 food voucher. Then our luggage was mishandled has still has not shown up to my house. Then because of the change in flights I had to rearrange transportation home at 1130 pm that cost me an extra $125. A very miserable day because of United's lack of being proactive and poor decision making given the situation and circumstances.
Pros: The lady helping me to get another plane was very nice because I lost it and was crying
Cons: The time for the connection was not enough to change gates using a bus and the connecting gate was too far away .
Pros: First leg had free streaming on your own device, which was awesome!
Pros: The flight was safe, the crew courteous and hard working.
Cons: Seating is horrific. It is not healthy fur people.
Cons: Flight was delayed from 9:20 to 1am because of no captain. There were minimal updates unless someone went to ask them. I think it's ludicrous to have to pay for a movie or a snack at 5am on a flight that should have already landed. I've flown plenty of other airlines that are sensitive to delays and accept responsibility. United did none of this.
Pros: It was a good flight.
Cons: No complaints.
Pros: Overall good flight. Very quick! :) nice pilot
Cons: Nothing in particular.
Pros: Seat too tight couldn't move at all
Cons: Seat too tight couldn't move at all
Cons: Very slow boarding. The entire last boarding group had to gate check our bags, despite there being lots of room in the overhead bins when we got on. Then we had to go to baggage claim to retrieve them, rather than having them unloaded quickly and returned to us when we de-boarded. My carry-on is no longer clean; it not has big black spots on it, and came though the baggage claim partially wet from the rain. I was not happy.
Cons: Flight was over 2 hrs delayed so I couldn't even take the flight. Waste of my money. Paid 330 dollars and got nothing. Now United nor you guys are helping. Never again will I use this site
Pros: Organized, calm and considerate to travelers.
Cons: Overhaul everything was fine but my wife had to stay for another week because her dad had a stroke and is in the hospital in critical condition and trying to find out if I can get my change the ticket coming back from my wife Nancy Quintana
Pros: Left on time and got to destination early!
Cons: Due to the frequent gate change updates from Kayak we ended up at the wrong terminal. Because of this we were late for our flight which they would not let us get boarding passes for so they bumped us to a flight 2 hrs later. After getting through security we realized the original flight was delayed. We asked the airline if we could get back on that flight and we were rudely told no without a good reason. So we sat for what ended up being and hour looking at the plane we "missed" before it took off. No using United again.
Pros: Great service. Very comfortable seats!
Cons: More Comfortable seats
Pros: It was ok, one gets what one pays and I understand that.
Cons: Some padding on the chairs would have been welcome.
Cons: The only negative was the weather!
Pros: Check in was
Pros: They gave us the emergency row with more space which we liked!
Cons: Boarding process could have been better. I felt I was poorly informed of the technical issues and would have liked a better understanding of what was going on. Boarding and then having to deplane right before departure due to a tire inspection fail was unnecessary. I feel as though the inspection should have happened prior to boarding.
Cons: Smoother ride to location
Cons: Nothing because everything is good.
Pros: En realidad nada porque desde los empleados hasta las azafatas del avión brindan muy pésimo servicio
Cons: Todo Check in Empleados Meriendas Entretenimiento
Cons: Frontier is usually good, not this flight. Dirty and packed full, not clean at all.
Pros: Amazing it took an international pandemic to finally convince airlines to board from the back front.
Cons: Covid prevention methods need to be fixed ASAP, I don't trust Frontier with my health safety. Everyone was cramped in the plane and there was not any space betweem seats like other airlines. The app did not work to pay for carryon and I had to pay $60 in the front desk.
Pros: Once again everyone was so wonderful and helpful
Cons: Lower luggage cost. I spent $110 additional on this trip since since I wasn't well informed (my fault)
Cons: Staff crabage
Cons: Never happened, the flight was cancelled and never rebooked.
Cons: The flight was delayed, it was a mess.
Pros: No issues
Cons: Hardest most uncomfortable seats, ever!
Cons: Check in desk was not open until 9am. Less than 2 hours before takeoff on busiest travel day of the year.
Cons: Flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues. No help was offered other than rebooking on a flight that didn’t get me to my destination until the next day and included an overnight stay at a hub airport with no hotel voucher. When told that was unacceptable I was handed a piece of paper listing two “Options” from Frontier. Both options involved going to a website and filling out forms. One for cancellation and $500 in travel vouchers which, after filling out the form and submitting returned with a message that the website was closed. Option 2 was to try to rebook which led to a dead end. I finally called Frontier directly and spent over 45 minutes getting everything straightened out. Now I have vouchers that have to be used by January 1, 2019.
Pros: Flight was shorter than planned, that’s always a treat. No delays or hiccups.
Cons: Two of the crew in the back were very unprofessional. Sarcastic, immature and I heard way too much of their personal conversation and I had head phones on
Pros: The seats we had were spacious
Cons: I guess I don’t understand, what I pay my fare for if I have to pay a separate fee for seat. The fare should include the seat. Then to charge you an arm and a leg for your luggage. I will never ever fly frontier again
Cons: Second time in a row we've waited in excess of 30 min for luggage at the carousel
Pros: Thought I was getting an awesome price but then when chkd in i had to pay for my seat, pay to take a bag & if I wanted a drink I would have to pay for that too. Staff was very cordial.
Cons: Having to pay separately for a seat, chkd a bag cost & have to pay for a treat.
Pros: I liked the ticket agent in Denver who fixed my incorrectly printed boarding pass.
Cons: Flight was over 2 hours late. Missed my scheduled flight in Denver, did get on a later flight that night, but got in very late. Ticket agent at the desk before I left MSP took my boarding pass for flight from Denver to SLC, not sure if he listed me on the wrong flight out of Denver or if the agent at the desk in Denver printed the wrong boarding pass. A SLC and Las Vegas flight were at neighboring gates when I realized something was wrong. I'd been printed a boarding pass for the flight to Las Vegas instead of SLC. Glad I noticed it before the last flight to SLC left. Was suffering at the time with a bout of diverticulitis, the straight up and down, nonreclining seats were horrific for me.
Cons: The seats are the most uncomfortable seats that I have ever experienced on an airplane and I have flown with dozens of airlines in 35 coutries.
Cons: Packed in like sardines, Frontier has replaced their seats with glorified folding chairs that do not recline and offer a fold down table smaller than a table napkin. Rows have been shifted so there is less room than before! Impossible! No beverages, even water, unless you pay. No food unless you pay. After airfare we than had to pay $17 a seat per person each way to select a seat. (Wasn't that what airfare is, buying a seat?) My 56,000 saved miles have disappeared from the Frequent flyer program with no warning so now I have no reason to Fly Frontier. And won't.
Pros: I liked the fact that I was FINALLY able to fly from MSP to Denver. My flight was cancelled due to the weather. The woman at check-in was very, very good as far as being able to handle a lot of cranky passengers. She kept a positive attitude and was able to book me on a flight 2 days later. Kudos to her.
Cons: No compensation was offered. NONE. This lay over was expensive (two nights in a motel plus food). You didn't even offer me a drink of water while I stood in long lines getting to the check-in counter and then waiting to make arrangement at a motel. I know the weather is out of your control, but couldn't you at least try to make your patrons comfortable after they have been on the road in sub-zero weather, in the snow trying to make their flight??? Enuf said. I will likely not fly with you again.
Cons: Flight delayed forcing Ll to stand on line trying to see about the connection. No updates or info given. No frontier flights available for 3 days and stranded. Had to book another airline to get home.
Pros: Not much
Cons: They neglected to completely drain the potable water tank and lines which subsequently froze and required thawing out resulting in a 1:30 delay.
Pros: Price of flight
Cons: When I went to sit down in my middle seat there was two larger women on either side of me. If I was any bigger, I am a 5' 4" 110 lb woman mind you, I would not have fit in between these women. If you keep shrinking your seats, no one will fly with you. In the future, I will be booking my flights further in advance with an airline that has seats to accommodate someone who is the size of a full sized man or woman.
Cons: I felt duped. I chose Frontier because of the competitive rate for the flight fee. I had NO idea I was going to be asked to pay $60 for my carry-on bag at the gate! and THEN be required to pay again for a simple drink and snack on the airplane. I understand charging for upgraded options of more expensive drinks and larger snack items and additional baggage, but whatever happened to including the basic courtesies in the cost of the flight!? Again, I felt duped! I will not be choosing Frontier again in the future unless these things change. And, oh my gosh, sitting within 3 rows of the lavatory was extremely uncomfortable to the nose the entire flight! Surely there are better ways of de-odorizing!
Pros: Seats were ok. Drinks on plane weren't too overpriced.
Cons: You get what you pay for as they say. Crew was unprofessional, rude, didn't even tell me which way my gate was I had to turn back around and ask. All they were doing was BSing with each other and laughing. Pilot took forever to even take off, we literally drove around on the ground going like 10 mph for about 15-20 minutes, and because we didn't take off when we were supposed to I assume is why our flight got delayed an hour! Never have had a delayed flight until frontier. Then to make matters worse, I checked my bag and they put it on the wrong belt I literally waited for my one suitcase for about 45 minutes! Like wtf get your situation together. Not to mention the $30 1st bag fee at least sun country gives you that.
Cons: Using Kayak, the price of the flight looked good. After booking, we found out that Frontier wants $35 per checked bag and $40 per carry on and $11 per seat to choose your seat. This made Frontier only a couple bucks cheaper than Delta that had a much better schedule. Live and learn.
Pros: It showed on time all he time and few minutes before boarding it was canceled. It was canceled because flight coming from different city was not able to make. They knew that but kept & the customers waiting till last minute and there was no attended at the gate. So one needs to exit the security, go to the counter, wait in line for more than 30 min to know what happened and they do not have any other flight to till next day.
Cons: There is nothing to like, I would not even rate 1 star, since there is no option of 0 star.
Cons: Seats are rock hard and finding gate for frontier airlines takes for ever
Pros: Nice newer airplane Hidden fees not so friendly
Cons: They charge me $50 for a seat at check-in They charged me $40 to carry-on one bag at check in They charge for all refreshments and snacks. The only thing that was complementary was a small glass of water. One of the flight attendants asked me if I would be willing to give up my aisle seat that I paid an extra $50 for to take a center seat so a teenage boy could sit by his mother. 99 times out of 100 I would have given the boy my seat. However this was a longer flight and I just had to pay $50 to obtain my aisle seat. When I tried to nicely explain that I just paid extra money to get this I'll seat the flight attendants response was " well he had to pay $50 for that center seat also, so it's basically the same seat". I replied no actually that is a center seat and I'm sitting in an aisle seat so they are different. After I declined to change my seat the flight attendant gave me major attitude about it and went off and informed the other flight attendants that I would not change seats. All of the flight attendants gave me the stink eye the rest of the trip, treated me rudely, & and ignored me as much as possible. I've been flying for my profession for 13 years and this was the most unprofessional crew I've ever seen. This is my one and only complaint about a flight in 13 years of many many flights. I will try very hard not to fly with Frontier ever again.
Pros: Had a medical emergency.
Cons: Frontier refused to change my flight/reimburse for missed travel due to medical situation
Pros: Crew was considerate and offered updates as we waited. We were given a lunch voucher and $100 voucher for a future trip -- on frontier and within 3 months. Fortunately for me, I did not have a connection and the person I was meeting in Orlando was also delayed 4 hours from a different location . So I was only moderately inconvenienced. Ordinarily this would have been a very costly event. This is my 2nd trip on the same flight within one month. Non-stop and times are great. First trip was on schedule and solid. Very friendly staff. Planes seemed new, cean, and safe, but not very comfortable (seats did not recline!?)
Cons: Delayed for 4 hours. We all boarded the plane before being told there was a problem, so then everyone had to de-plane and wait near gate for more information. Arrived Orlando too late to drive to destination. Wasted a day of car rental. Must use $100 voucher within 90 days.
Cons: Seat were very hard and small. Tray table was smaller than the size of an iPad mini. I was angry when I told I had to pay for my carry on, ridiculous. Drinks were not complimentary. Absolutely no leg room. Very uncomfortable for me as I'm 6 foot. Very disappointed.
Pros: The desk staff and pilot were awesome. Very sympathetic, attentive, and personable throughout the entire long day. They all deserve TOP recognition!!!
Cons: Due to a winter storm, our flight was on hold for 8 hours. We were told all day to "stay with the plane", but in the end our flight was being used to fly the next day 5:30 passengers and we would not have a flight. So we waited all day, patiently, courteously and were left hanging. I was stranded 2 hours from home and wouldn't have a flight out for 4 days. Since I would have had to return the 5th day, I had no choice but to take the shuttle back home. Even the pilot and desk staff assumed we would be flown out in the morning. Frontier seriously needs to work on customer service when it comes to interrupted flights. We, who had been disrupted all day should have been placed on that morning flight. The 5:30 booking should have been delayed due to the circumstances.
Cons: no covid protection
Pros: The flight was on time and early to arrive.
Cons: The seats are some of the worst I've experienced. I sat next to a grown gentleman and pretty much had half his body in my seat. My son thats 12 fits perfect but not adults
Cons: Flight was too crowded. No social distancing. The booking gave the impression that middle seat were blocked, but there were not. Everybody got up when we landed.
Pros: Nothing! I do it because I need the flight in that moment.
Pros: I like the wider front seats. Plenty of room and comfortable
Cons: On the return trip I wasn't able to purchase the wider seats since they are only 8 of them. I sat on the third row and it was quite uncomfortable even for a small person like me
Cons: Everything, Spirit is the most poor airline
Pros: Nothing was enjoyable except the price, but JetBlue it ten times better for only a tiny bit more.
Cons: The cabin was out of control. People were running around, cursing, not wearing masks. The crew did nothing about it. The seats were wildly uncomfortable. There was no food, no entertainment, no comfort. I will not be flying Spirit again unless they're my only option.
Pros: Got in early!
Cons: Flight was packed!
Cons: I was charge 55 dollars for a backpack cause the side was to long which it was the 2 wheels the backpack has. I don't think that was fair. I now know to use your airline.
Cons: Last minutes extra charges
Pros: 321/5000 Absolutely nothing, it was my last time using this airline. They charged me for the suitcase and other people did not; from wanting to ingest something until water is charged, the area of the seat dirty, tray where you have to put the food dirty (I have photos). Completely disappointed, she believed in the reputation of the company.
Cons: Equality ... we are all going through a bad economic state. Hygiene in this situation has to be stricter. The Covid 19 is not a joke, many people die in these situations, we make many trips for work that we expose ourselves.
Pros: Terrible! The worst experience in my life.
Cons: Nothing, the airplane and the staff totally disaster.
Pros: Flight from MSP to PHX was delayed an hour, which messed up our transportation down there. Minimal word was given, at time of boarding they then delayed 30 min, then when that time expired they added another 30. VERY UNORGINIZED, and unprofessional. Terrible service, terrible airline, don't be tricked by 5% cheaper fairs... they suck!
Cons: They canceled our flight home from PHX to MSP, they blamed weather in DFW, which is bull, there were many other airlines flying out of DFW that morning. Because they blamed weather, there was no compensation for screwed up schedules. The next available flight was 2.5 DAYS later!! no other options, it was ridiculous... they were no help to get rebooked on another airline, or even driving to another airport... horrible all around. We ended up driving to Mesa Gateway, flying Alegiant Air to Fargo, renting a car, driving 5.5 hours back to MSP to get our car, then 2.5 hours home again. But it's all good, Spirit refunded that leg of our fare... $220... we spent over $750 to get home by 1am, when we should have been there by early afternoon. DONT EVER FLY SPIRIT - THEY'RE THE WORST...
Pros: The flight attendants and gate attendants were funny, honest and helpful.
Cons: Spirit had many cancelled flights while I was in Las Vegas. Mine was one. They said it was weather related and therefore couldn't accommodate hotels. Well, every other airline was able to get out. I think there was a staffing issue and management didn't want to actually provide decent service to their customers. I was stuck I. The airport over night with a 3 month old. It was awful. Then my next flight, a sink broke and was spewing water all down the aisle so we had to delay the flight and we're deplaned. Not impressed and won't fly with them again. After all said and done, I don't think it saved me any money.
Pros: When purchasing the ticket they were Very upfront about alerting you to possible baggage restrictions and fees for ANY carryon aside from one small item. I was only traveling overnight so I was able to carefully pack in one very small "personal item" sized backpack. If I hadn't carefully checked their website I would have had to pay $55 for a regular small carry on and far more for checking a suitcase. Most people had similar small personal bags. I was astonished when a woman showed up with a huge rolling suitcase and large carryon. I hoped she was traveling for a month to justify the fees she would incur!!
Cons: What they don't tell you up front is you have to pay $23 per person per flight if you want to pick your seat to insure you sit next to the person you're traveling with. I was flying wirh my boyfriend so of course I wanted to sit next to him for the 2 1/2 flights but didn't want to pay $100 for the privilege. We rolled the dice and we're luckily assigned seats together. Not the case for several other people flying together. They also don't tell you, until it's time to print your boarding pass, that if you can't download the boarding pass by smartphone or print at home it costs $10 to print at the kiosk. I had to scramble ro get it printed because the code doesn't show up on an android phone. Again, we got lucky because my boyfriend has an iPhone and could download and print screen our boarding passes. We weren't surprised at all that all food and beverages (yes, water included) had costs associated but thats become fairly standard in the industry now. Overall it was a pleasant flight, the flight attendants were efficient and helpful and we arrived right on schedule.
Pros: Boarding went smoothly. Flights departed on time. Flight crew was very friendly.
Cons: Arrival: Both flights arrived on time, BUT the plane remained on the runway for extended periods to await a gate. I know delays happen, but to wait on two out of two fights isn't a good average... Seats: I'm very small, and was very glad in these seats. I found the seats quite uncomfortable because they don't recline at all! Food/Beverage: Nothing is provided - not even water. Baggage Check: When making reservations, $30/bag to check didn't seem too bad. However, when pre-registering my luggage, in order to receive the $30/bag rate, I would have needed to spend $50 additional for a membership. I don't fly enough to make that worthwhile.
Cons: Our flight was delayed and we missed the connection even though we were told that the connecting flight was waiting for us. The only options provided were to wait until Tuesday (it was Sunday) without a Hotel or to receive a reimbursement and find another flight by our own. We had to buy a ticket from another airline. The reimbursement received was not even half of the amount paid or the price for one way ticket to that destination. We received a $50 voucher that expires in 2 months. No one from that flight wants to travel ever again with Spirit. Customer service was awful.
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: The fact you lied about baggage fees, the fact your airline took it upon them selves to chance the standard size and weight of a carry on bag, the fact they charge you a "convience" fee for carrying your own bag. It's actually cheaper to have the airline handle your luggage than for you to carry it. The fact luggage fees seem to randomly change. I was charged 45$ for my bag on the outbound flight but for some reason I was charged 57 for the same bag for the return flight. Had I been made fully aware of all these charges I would have been able to save money while flying on a real airline.
Pros: I had very low expectations of Spirit Airlines... from their reputation and things I read online. But my family and I had a GREAT experience yesterday. Our bag check process went smoothly and the staff was very courteous. Everything went smoothly for boarding and my husband, my son and I all sat together in the same row. Everything couldn't have went smoother and i really wondered what all the fuss was about Spirit airlines??? We had a really great experience and would do it again. Can't beat the price, even if you pay to check a couple of bags ahead of time.
Cons: Did not like that it feels like a bait/switch to shop for flights, then highly up charged for things that should be included. Like being charged to check in... Isn't that covered when a ticket is purchased?? I purchased through Kayak and find out later that we can save money by doing everything ourselves online or at kiosk. Then watch all staff sit around and socialize while we over pay. Why have a staff at all? I had to pay to sit in exit seat then asked to assist in emergency. If occupying those seats... Why do we have to pay extra? I guess not what I had in mind. I will choose different airline next time. I paid more to fly my bags than it cost to fly myself. Don't understand!
Cons: Being charged for baggage
Pros: Wouldn't know that wouldn't even let me print my ticket.
Cons: How when I waited in line and ended up only being 40 minutes early rather than 45 they wouldn't even pull up my reservation, which I had already checked in online too, just needed a printed ticket. Instead when I mentioned where I was going he just remarked too bad it's too late you needed to be here earlier I can't help you and proceeded to the next customer completely ignoring me. I guess being a paying customer gets you no where with this company. Now I see why everyone hates them. I used to stand up for them but I guess it was only a matter of time before being subjected to their terrible business practices.
Pros: Fast boarding.
Cons: The airline didn't allow me to print my boarding pass until 8:30 pm on the night before my scheduled 8:38 am departure. At that time the fliglht departure time was delayed. In the morning the flight was delayed again. Fortunately I had a three hour layover in Atlanta, so the delays only meant less of a layover. The seats were uncomfortable. It was a clear day without many clouds, but somehow the pilots on both of my flights weren't able to hold the planes steady during the takeoffs, climbing to altitude, and approaches for landings. The planes were wobbling a lot---like they were no longer on smooth automatic pilot.
Cons: Spirit cancelled on me last minute and would not put me on another airline to get to Minnesota. It was a terrible experience and I have no interest flying with them ever again. After speaking to a counter agent, I called them and they couldn't get me on anything to get to Minnesota that day, which is when I absolutely had to be there in order to get my work done. It was a huge waste of my time and resources. Sure, I got my ticket price back - only after arguing with them that the reason that I should get my full ticket back (instead of just the leg to Minnesota) is because THEY cancelled on ME.
Pros: Nothing. If this airline lasts a year I will be surprised.
Cons: Pricing is deceptive as any assigned seat costs extra. Boarding is a mess. I think they sell group 2 boarding as an extra but let group 2and 3 board together. Aisle, window and middle seats board together so people are constantly clogging aisles during boarding to let people into middle and window seats. As a result the policies that reduce carry-ons don't speed up boarding. They do clog up the departure lounge as people who haven't paid for a carry-on are pulled aside for a charge that makes their total flight cost the same as a carrier with the usual, albeit slim, amenities of most domestic airlines. This flight was hours late as was the other leg of this trip. Seats do not recline, at all. Some seat backs are just a layer of fabric, so if someone puts a knee or foot forward you get a real jab.
Cons: flight attendant did not make the person in front of me put their seatback up for takeoff or landing, and I was the row before emergency row so it was hard to get in the seat or out! The 3-4 minute sales pitch for a credit card was over the top after being nickel and dimed for everything from boarding priority, seat selection, and bags. Spirit should not be listed with other airlines on flight services such as Kayak because of their hidden fees, and charging for carry on items. You should not have to sign up for their frequent flyer program in order to print a boarding pass.
Pros: Timely departure. Great customer service in San Juan , Puerto Rico.
Cons: At the FLL airport there were 2 lines outside the airport. We asked an employee and the person directed us to the shortest line. 30 minutes later another Spirit employee passed by us and asked if we had boarding passes and if we needed to pay for our luggage. We had boarding passed and had already paid for our luggage, Then she said we were supposed to be on the other line. She moved us to a very long line. I kept telling employees that our departure time was in about an hour and they kept saying we were in time. WE arrived at the gate 8 minutes before closing the doors. My luggage did not make it in time to the airplane and stayed behind in FLL. I blame those employees that did not inform us properly and to the lack of informative signs around the Spirit counters. This will be my last Spirit flight. The $40 charged per bag is too much and the carry-on sizes are too small.
Pros: Prices were good. All of the crew was great and professional and friendly except Cindy.
Cons: No effort to get me on flight which I suspect was delayed. $5.00 credit with Spirit not applied to new flight as promised. 2 hrs. 34 mins on a stopped plane no fun. A few minutes more and, by law, we would have been de-planed. Nobody likes long hours on a stopped plane. Flight attendant Cindy is a problem waiting to happen. She seemed to have an authority issue. She instructed us to remain on carpet and out of galley-flight attendant area she said. I did that and she still asked me and another passenger to move. "Standing near my doorway scares me" she said. I also heard her reprimand mothers with children very un-professionally. Not very nice table manners.
Pros: Our flight was delayed and then cancelled. There was one woman who was helpful in customer service when I arrived at the airport. I explained that I had to change my flight recently and am 6.5 months pregnant. Because my travel was booked within 7 days of the original flight, I was charged a $90 fee to make the change even though I made the change within 2 hours of booking. I was not reimbursed the difference of the flights. I was instead given a voucher to use within 60 days for the difference minus the $90 fee. I sent to online requests to customer service requesting contact because I am pregnant and will likely not be up for travel for several months. I got no response. The customer service rep who helped my friend and I book a replacement flight when our flight was cancelled was great and did his best with a sense of humor. It was obvious all of the staff did their best but were honest about the limits they had in being helpful: we waited in flux for an hour to find out if the cancellation was confirmed after being delayed for several hours. It was made clear that the replacement flight had to be within the range of the cost of the original ticket. Spirit ticket costs are completely misleading because of fees added for carry on bags, printing a ticket, water on the plane, etc. People tried their best but the set up including the website feel like an intentional scam.
Pros: It is cheap, if you can make it stay that way. I'm getting used to the middle seat. The snacks I brought with me were great.
Cons: This flight: -Pilots were delayed, plane left 50 min after scheduled time. -While we waited the cabin was pretty hot and uncomfortable which made no sense considering the outside temp was in the 60s Every flight: -The really loud /long credit card advertisement announcements -the seat in front of you is about an inch too close unless you pay extra, then you have almost too much -they keep fares low by sticking it to people that can't keep track of all the little rules to avoid fees. Luckily I made it past the traps. -I don't like that they are further decreasing the allowed size for free personal item starting in a few months, seems like an unnecessary measure to stick more people with last minute bag fees. -The website is not great, I have only flown spirit about 5 times and I have had the website crash while trying to check in at least 3 time. At two check-in's per flight, that's a 30% failure rate. and then there's more ads, yay my favorite...
Cons: $100 extra for luggage
Cons: This shouldn't be under a cheap category. Considering that I had a carry on, I ended up paying and additional $120 for baggage. On my return flight I sat next to someone who for sure was on some sort of methamphetamine or heavy upper and could not sit still for a moment. or stop scratching herself. There is no phone line at all that gets you to a human to speak to... at all! So asking for specific flight details was impossible. To get a bottle of water on a 5.5 hour flight was $3 which is inappropriate. The seats do not recline and are small. If you do not pay for you carry on a head of time they will charge you $100 which is basically robbery. I will never fly spirit ever again.
Cons: Many hidden costs, seats unreasonably small, no drinks or snacks at all unless you buy them, disorganized. Airline appears reasonably priced, but they charge high prices for any amenity usually included in the price. They didnt have curbside at airport, adding to the long lines inside. Elderly passenger had to walk with heavy bags before getting wheelchair. Not acceptable. Website almost imposible to navigate-kept kicking me out and phone service is inefficient . Clearly, everything is set up to make traveler spend the most for any necessary convenience once they arrive at airport. Will not travel with Spirit agIn.
Pros: The crew and airline worked with me.
Cons: This was a quick turn around trip for me, just taking my son home from his summer visit. My flight in was delayed as was my flight out. When I went to collect my ticket the customer service individual said I HAD to use the kiosk. It wouldn't print my ticket causing me to now be pushing it even closer to take off. She ended up having to call and get permission to allow me to have my ticket to proceed to boarding. If she would have helped me to begin with I don't think the extra time for a phone call would have been necessary. I do however thank the attendants and flight managers there that day for helping to ensure I made my flight back home without fail.
Cons: I picked Spirit because it was the cheapest. You get what you pay for. Keep in mind when you choose Spirit, you will have to pay for your carry on that is not your personal item, pay if you want to pick your seat, and pay if you have the person at the counter print your ticket. Spirit also cancelled our flight. We spent about an hour on the phone with Spirit and said that they booked me on another flight. When I went to check in, they didn't have a reservation for me. It was such a cluster. I will pay the extra money to not fly Spirit.
Cons: I checked in online the night before, but did not print my boarding pass. When going to check bags, I waited in line only to find out at the counter that I have to print my boarding pass at a kiosk - if they do it for you they will, of course, charge you. Ridiculous. When I went to print the boarding pass, I got charged again - apparently it did not go through the night before for some reason although I was never alerted. So I was charged more now for paying at the airport vs. night before. Not to mention, two charges showed on my account.
Cons: I called 10 days before my flight to cancel it due to a death in the family. I was told someone from management would call me within 5 day about the matter. I never heard back so I called the day before my flight and I was told once again that someone from management would call me within 5 days. They apologized that no one ever called me the first time. It's been 13 days since that last phone call and I still haven't heard back. Three tickets down the drain and no one ever called me back so I could at least pay the cancellation fee to get credit for another future flight. Horrible customer service!
Cons: I didn't like the charge for my "carry-on", that fit in the bin that stated, "if it fits, it's free" Wasn't free, $65 on the way to Minn. and $55 on the way back to LA. I also think your flight attendants talk way too much over the intercom. I get if you are trying to push your credit card, but I didn't need to hear about it for what seemed like 15 minutes. For people on such an early flight who would probably like to catch up on some sleep a little more quiet would have been nice. Also I think someone can spent max $10 at a hardware store and purchase something to place on the restroom doors so that they don't need to slam so much. I guess that's the price you pay for sitting in the a last row by the restrooms. **I think those seats rates should be cheaper. But probably never booking with Spirit ever again
Cons: The extreme restrictions on luggage are very hard to deal with, and during the flight there are constant announcements for drinks and snacks for sale. Considering the base rate for a flight is only a little less than other airlines, and if you decide to pay for a reasonably-sized suitcase it's actually more expensive than other airlines, it doesn't make a lot of sense to fly with Spirit. It also feels like they're doing you a favor for even letting you on the plane, rather than grateful for your business. The entire Spirit experience drives me up a wall.
Cons: The $30 up charge and no cash policy was obnoxious and exceptionally inconvenient. It cost me $47 to check 1 bag. I had to put money on a pay card. The pay card itself cost $5 which caused me to have to out $60 on the card to cover the cost of 1 bag. On top of that, the machine took my money only to tell me that it was out of cards. It turned into a bit of a wild goose chase. The people at the spirit counter took care of it but ended up giving me a blank card after it was all said and done and lost out of my $8 in change.
Cons: The flight attendants were totally unprofessional. After falling asleep during taken off, what sounded like a rowdy brunch with too many mimosas woke me up. It turned out to be four flight attendants hanging out in the rear of the plane chatting very loudly. They were certainly the loudest people on this 6:30 am flight. They were much louder than the three young unattended minor boys on the flight. It sounded like they were having a great time. They were even swapping "funny" stories about passengers from previous flights. I could have slept despite the uncomfortable non-reclining seats on this flight but the flight attendant party made it it impossible. I am sure I was not the only one. Everyone in the back 5 rows was awake. The most unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced. On another note, the spirit website that one must use to check in for free is a pain. The mobile version does not work properly and the password reset link doesnt workl
Cons: My flight kept getting delayed, and ultimately cancelled. For some reason Spirit did not feel the need to just let passengers know the status of the aircraft so that they could make other arrangements. I had to fly into a different city, rent a car, and drive home 2 hours (after sitting in an airport with no idea what was going on with my flight for approximately 6 hours). For my troubles? A $50 voucher for an airline I will NEVER fly again. No reimbursement. No nothing. And the kicker? It was entirely on Spirit. It was a maintenance issue. Absolutely horrible.
Pros: That it didn't crash. Although that would have spared me the return ride on Spirit airlines.
Cons: I'm not even sure where to start. Both of my flights were delayed with no explanation. Airport terminal and airplane were filthy. It literally spelled like diapers and bad cologne. There were extra charges for every possible thing, including reserving a seat and checking in at the airport. If I had known this I would have flown another airline because I ended up spending more money with Spirit. The seats don't recline, and I was told I could get water out of the bathroom sink if I wanted some. The airline crew was making several lewd and inappropriate comments on the return flight, including a male attendant saying he rubbed everyones pens down his pants. All around horrible.
Pros: The staff for the most part was friendly.
Cons: I am so upset by my trip with Spirit. This was my first time flying with them and I will NEVER do it again. I rather drive my 12 hour trip. They hit me with a $52 fee at check in to take a carry-on and the first lady I spoke with said it was my fault for not booking with them and checking their policies and that's what I get for booking with a 3rd party. Also, she told me that most people don't fly with carry-on's just a bookbag or purse - which looking around was obviously not true. The whole line of people was outraged at this new policy. Since I only had cash on me for my trip I had to pay and extra $5 to get it onto a visa gift card because they don't take cash. On the plane they argued with the woman behind me that they couldn't even give her water without charging her like $4. Nothing is free. Nothing is comfortable. No entertainment - not even radio to plug your headphones into. They told me if I booked my carry-on online it would only be $25 instead of $57. So I tried to do so about 5 times while on my trip and it kept saying they would send me a confirmation to set up my account. Which never came. I followed all instructions and I tried different emails to make sure that wasn't the problem. I ended up leaving my carry-on with my parents and shoving everything I could into a large purse. in the end flying with Spirit was MORE EXPENSIVE than the other airlines I looked into. I wish I could go back and not learn that painful lesson. Thank you Kayak for the ease of booking my flight.
Cons: Flight was cancelled, due to maintenance issue. spent all day in the airport, flight was scheduled to leave at 10am found out at. 3pm that is was cancelled, staff was very rude, gave us a card to call spirit to rebook. When called the agent couldn't help for an hr due to a system update and asked me to call back in a hr and to keep trying number. No one in the airport was willing or able to help to rebook. Conflicting information was given by the gate, check in desk and the agent on the phone. We received a $7 food voucher after waiting inline 2 hrs for it. And the only options they offered; was to fly to another airport with an 8 hr layover after being in the airport 12 hrs already and catch another flight at 7am. Or to wait two days to get a flight out of ATL. Worst part was the customer service and rude staff. I won't be flying with spirit in the future. Employees stood around instead of helping and had bad attitudes. And no clue as to flight info, or plane status to keep us updated.
Pros: The crew seemed friendly, and the baggage arrived at the carousel very quickly.
Cons: Spirit isn't clear about their fees. It would have been nice to know baggage is cheapest when paid for at the time of buying the ticket, and gets increasingly more expensive throughout the ticket buying and check in procedure. It's bizarre that you have to pay to have carry on luggage, and it seems like their trying to trick their customers into paying the ridiculous $100 fee at the gate. In addition, I don't like that you have to pay $10 to check in at the airport. Not everyone has access to the internet before their flight, especially low income people who are most likely to fly Spirit, so it seems they are taking advantage of that.
Pros: I am a disabled veteran and I was forced to wait in security twice for over an hour each time because Spirit doesn't allow you to use your emailed boarding pass like ANY OTHER AIRLINE. I have over 20 flights that I will be taking in the next 4 months and I will not be flying with this airline. I'd like to meet whoever runs this airline and have some words with them on how to run a successful business. Everyone I know knows not to fly Spirit. Now I do too. The price can be beat 9/10 times on in a better airline.
Pros: I disliked everything except how helpful the staff was when I almost puked because of the extreme discomfort of the seats.
Cons: Being in that seat for 3.5 hours was the worst thing I have ever experienced on an airplane. I think I pinched the Vagus nerve in my abdomen and almost passed out on the airplane. I somehow was able to tell my wife that I needed help, she asked for water, they told me it would be $3 and I told them that I needed to go to the bathroom fast because I was very ill. Made it to the flight attendant's seat by the bathroom and sat there for a minute, then was able to open the bathroom door. Sat on the floor of the bathroom for about 5 minutes and was 100% better. Didn't even need to vomit because my circulation seemed to normalize after getting out of that horrible seat. Imagine - sitting on the floor in the tiny bathroom was more comfortable and actually cured me. They get one star out of 10 from my because they gave me free water. Otherwise it would be zero.
Pros: I almost swore off Spirit a few years ago, after terrible customer service and unclean planes etc. This trip has made me reconsider. The crew was the best asset. They were entertaining, so pleasant, joking and engaging with customers all while being professional and efficient. Better service than the "premier" airlines that I have recently flown. We were more inclined to order drinks and food onboard because we were in good spirits and felt that we didn't need to wait until touchdown to allow vacation to begin. Thank you for a great experience
