They tried putting me on a flight to SLC with a connection! Overall, I am VERY unhappy with them! Zero stars is what they deserve."

The American Airlines crew did not know how to handle my G4 visa while checking in and they neglected to mark my bag with the orange ribbon signaling platinum status in American. This is key to getting your luggae faster in baggage claim when you have a short connection (I had less than two hours). This omission caused my suitcase to arrive last, and I had to run to make it to my next flight."

When it did come time to board, they told everyone in the line that was going to Cincinnati that we couldn't check in until 2 hours before the departure time. Apparently there were some other flights that left before us. If they had told us to keep our place in line and to let other people through, that wouldn't have been a problem. But, they didn't. Their own website says you should check baggage at least 2 hours before your flight and no more than 4 hours before. They took it upon themselves to change the rules on people who arrive early. Then, once they no longer had anyone else to check in, they changed their rules again and start checking in people for Cincinnati about 2.5 hours ahead of time. A little communication and brain power from the staff would have gone a long way. After all that mess, the flight was delayed leaving about 15 minutes without any updates from Allegiant either."

It would have been nice if ANYONE had made that announcement before we boarded to avoid confusion. Also, the fees are ridiculous! Your app is not user friendly at all! Who the hell charges for a carry on bag?! Are you kidding me?! The directions on the app made it sound like the $17 charge was for an additional carry on item, not the allowed one carry on item. So, when we went to check in and I was told I would have to pay $50 for my mother's carry on, it was livid! Also, are you serious with the $5 fee to print a boarding pass? I will NEVER fly with Allegiant Air again. That is absolutely unacceptable. I will say that the staff was pleasant but the airline is inept and inefficient. The reason I will never fly this airline again because of what a rip off the fees are. Allegiant Air, you should be ashamed of yourself."

Then 24 hours prior to boarding, a notification comes in that I am flying Air Brussels. This leaves me with confusion - which airport terminal to go to, where to check in, who to call, etc. When I finally arrive to the airport at JFK, I find there is no Air Brussels Check in and that I need to go to United. But United no longer operates out of JFK, so I was finally directed to the British Airways terminal to check in with Eurowings. The flight was supposedly a Eurowings flight in collaboration with Lufthansa and United but operated by Brussels Airlines. I’ve never before experienced this miscommunication and confusion with one single flight, especially in my home country. When I booked the flight, it was quite clear it was Lufthansa and I paid Lufthansa prices. I was very disappointed overall with the experience leading me up to boarding time and had I known it was not a Lufthansa plane and crew, I would not have booked it. I hope you can I understand my frustration as this was poorly communicated and manasged and was quite misleading from the start. I would appreciate some compensation or recognition for the confusion as I will no longer be using Kayak or third party booking sites due to the way this was handled. I am a loyal Kayak user, but this was just too much and nothing like I’ve ever experienced before."

Tonight though our attendant made us all feel like we were in 1st class. Pros: "More important than the trip home last Wednesday was the reason for the trip. We attended my granddaughter's wedding. Everything else was secondary. Even if the trip had been in a one wheeled barrow, it would have been good. To get to what you want which is the mechanics of the trip. The two people who attended to the aisle chair, most teams were competent. Some hadn't done many passengers so they were fumbling with the straps. I've learned that I almost alway have to ask for one at the gate where they check or issue, (what's it called, loading permits, some kind of pass, not landing pass. loading pass. I can't remember and my wife has gone to bed.) Well, they have to come up with an aisle chair because I've only got 1 1/2 legs. I always make it to the seat on the plane, but the competency of the various crews is uneen. Sorry my answer is so nonspecific but I don't remember one airline from another. Great people all, get the job done."

Passengers had no idea what to do - whether another plane would be sent for us, whether United would reimburse our ticket if we arranged another flight on our own, etc. We were left to fend for ourselves. I had a wedding to get to with many pre-wedding events, starting this evening. So, I looked for another flight, found one, booked it, and went to United customer service to request reimbursement for my ticket. I was told that United had just learned that another plane was coming for us and would arrive in 30 minutes, at 8:10. (My original flight had been at 6:35). The other flight I had booked was at 10:30 pm. So, United customer service changed canceled my new booking and put me back to my original flight, now arriving at 8:10 and boarding at 8:50. The plane did arrive, but we did not board until 10:50 pm. My flight left at 11:02 pm. Bottom line is that my flight was delayed 4.5 hours. I missed an important event that I was supposed to host. I missed my only opportunity to see a dear friend (and guest of honor) - this is someone I have not seen in person for ten years and was the guest of honor at tonight's celebration that I was supposed to host and missed. Furthermire, I could not carry on a bag that I have carried on for years, and that would have easiky fit. Having to check my bag left me without my phone charger. Of course, the fact that we were 4.5 hours delayed meant that I ran out of power shortly into our long flight from Washington. to Seattle. And the food was awful - stale nuts, . ;, b:;"

Cons: "United delayed the flight. This information became available about an hour in advance- well after we drove two hours (We live in Montana) to get to the airport. The attendants said / not our problem. I called United's Customer Service number to discuss ways of mediating the delay that resulted in us missing the wedding venue and entire reason we booked the $1400 flight. I again got a "not my problem" response- no the flights can be modified, no we will not provide vouchers, no we really don't care that our poor quality and service cost you and your family tremendously in time, effort, and lost memories. I know we are at the mercy of airlines, but what a painful disappointment. My experience with Delta has been better and I suggest avoiding United Airlines if other flight options exist.... Even consider a very long drive over the use of the airline."

Due to the amount of people, noise, and dishevelment my PTSD became aggravated and I found myself having an attack. I chose the initial early flight to ensure this would not happen. I am aware of what causes my PTSD to become aggravated and I take that into consideration when I make all plans."
