Cons: "I had a family emergency and because I had used a mileage ticket (as opposed to a paid ticket) I was told that I needed to give them 72 hours notice. I tried to explain that I had no control over the situation. It fell on deaf ears. I was so upset and frustrated that I could barely speak. My miles are now lost as the entire round trip ticket was cancelled and I have no way to regain all those miles that I wasted. It was the first time Delta did not come through for me and I must say, it's left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I couldn't believe that there isn't some provision (there is if I had paid for my ticket) and have lost all those miles that I use to fly Delta. So much for customer service."

Cons: "Everything that could have gone wrong with my flights, went wrong. On my way from LA to Raleigh (through Atlanta), I was affected by the weather conditions at Atlanta. I understand that the weather is beyond Delta's scope of control, but customer service is not. I had to wait in line at LAX for 8 hours to even get information on what had happened, and what solutions were available. The customer service call center was collapsed, and at the airport counters at one point there was ONLY ONE DELTA REPRESENTATIVE serving a line of more than 100 upset customers. This IS Delta's fault, and it is unacceptable. This definitely was under Delta's control, but in order to save a few dollars in overtime for emergency staff Delta was willing to let its customers make terribly long lines, miss their flights, their connections and consequently their commitments. It is disappointing to observe how Delta believes that a few dollars saved on extra staff and emergency measures can offset the irreparable long term damage to its business due to upset customers. My way back from Raleigh to Los Angeles was also a disaster. Without any type of explanation and nothing more than an email announcing the change, the nonstop flight I bought was replaced by a 1-stop flight with connection in Atlanta. This was NOT THE PRODUCT I PURCHASED. There is a reason I paid a premium for a nonstop flight, and Delta did not hesitate in providing me with a less valuable product without any explanation or refund. Delta prioritizes its operational metrics - an obsession to fill and overbook its capacity - over its customers' experience, one again under the foolish belief that short term savings in any way offset the long term damage of disappointed and alienated customers. I will NEVER FLY DELTA AGAIN. I will do whatever I can to transmit my experience to everyone I know. At a time where major airline carriers are in the spotlight due to abusive practices (i.e. the United passenger case), I still find hope in knowing that alternatives such as Southwest still put their customers first, over the ethereal benefits that a few-dollar savings in operational expenses can provide."

He had not paid for the upgrade, but the crew let him stay in my seat. I had asked him to social distance but he continued to sit right behind me bo matter which seat I moved to. He argued with the crew until they gave up and let him stay. They did not check his boarding pass or ask him to move to his assigned seat I found a different seat away from him but I don’t see the point in paying for extra legroom when the crew let’s people who haven’t paid for it sit it those seats. I felt harassed by the man and was very uncomfortable the whole flight. I am considering my next step, I think I should at least receive a refund for the upgrade I paid for."

My poor rating was because the luggage handling was really poor. Lots of flights from Paris to Amsterdam (almost hourly), but my bag showed up 12 hours later. My wife's bag took 36 hours. And yes, we checked in together. There were lots of confusing messages"

Overall this caused unnecessary delays that were compounded by the fact that I couldn’t use my TSA precheck. My main problem on the plane was that I had to struggle to get water served to me. It’s always so dry on planes and I would have liked to be able to get more than one tiny glass of water at a time. Also, would have loved a window at my window seat. Plus no WIFI!?"

I was traveling with a young child and the flight attendants were rude and unhelpful when simple requests were made like an early cracker or cookie to help distract him while everyone else was boarding. Also, my wife received dirty looks from an attendant when she asked if she could get by while holding our crying infant. They made us feel like a burden instead of a paying customer. The food was really sub par, especially the breakfast sandwich; cold, soggy veggie sandwich with no flavor (zero seasoning or vinegar or oil) and as mentioned the bread was cold and soggy wet. Also, there seemed to be something wrong with one of the bathroom’s ventilation, the smell was terrible throughout the entire flight. In the past Lufthansa had a good reputation for customer service, they are actively destroying it with how they currently treat passengers. If our return flight is as bad we will never fly Lufthansa again.

Food was cold food - no hot food on the whole plane - only hot coffee. I am not paying 4 times the amount to get economy seats that I can get and most probably get lucky and have an empty seat next to me. STAR ALLIANCE IS REALLY GOING DOWN AND LUFTHANSA IS THE WORST. Will never travel Lufthansa business class every again."

Cons: "1 person working the service desk. I had a question about our connecting flight from Frankfurt and I was told to call the 1-800 number. When I went to check my bag the woman was very rude and asked me "why do I think I can check two bags?" and questioned my Star Alliance premium silver status, demanding I show her my card (I have no card). My friend was flying with me and she was told that her carry on, mind you had flown to and within europe, was too big for the overhead storage and she had to pay 90 euros to check it and the woman held her boarding pass and wouldn't give it to her. we waited in line at the service desk for over 40 minutes so that she could pay. We arrived to the airport 2.5 hours early to eat and shop for souvenirs. We barely made it in time to get to our gate because of the inefficiencies of Lufthansa. 1 person working a service desk for a large airport is unacceptable, especially when they are 8-10 waiting to scan your baggage and not helping out at all. I had a wonderful flight to Europe on Lufthansa and was absolutely appalled at the attitudes of the airport staff and their lack of customer service."

On that website I was not allowed to check in for my Lufthansa flights and i was stuck with seats I did not want in my 2 long intercontinental flights. This has happened before. Lufthansa has no option to check in online if my first flight leg is united. This is a very big drawback and also the reason I would not prefer to fly Lufthansa again. United is bringing the quality down."

If an attendant at the Frankfurt airport had not showed us, there was no obvious way to guess how to check a bag or get a boarding pass. So if you do not speak German fluently, ask an attendant as soon as you get to the check in area, and save yourself some walking and time."

We were told by the SAS rebooking agent that no flights available on ANY flights from ANY carriers at ANY airport in all of Europe. Unless you were the couple at the other end of the counter - they were rebooked just fine. What do we do? SAS agent says, "Not my problem." So we have to stay an extra day. We ask - will you be putting us up in a hotel? Agent told us every hotel was sold out. "What do we do?" SAS agent: "Not my problem"."
Pros: "My Plus ticket brought me an excellent cold lunch despite the shortness of the flying time (only 1:10). The seats need more recline!"
Cons: "since all tickets and passports are checked in advance and do not need to be scanned again when boarding, they really should start boarding from the back of the aircraft (after all the business, first-class, and priority folks) because it would really speed things up the main meal was good, but the snack was much smaller compared to my flight from Chicago to Stockholm"

Cons: "Booked SAS Go level which included 1 piece of luggage each. At check-in, we were told that is not the case despite SAS' own website saying that it is. I was charged another $320 and I am disgusted with their business practices which revolve around, deceit, lies andl I would even say fraud! There were many others complaining about the SAS Go luggage issue and then having to pay again. I could have gone with Ryan Air for a fraction of the cost."

Cons: "When waiting to board the flight, it was difficult to understand when different parts of the plane were boarding because of the soft volume of the loud speakers. All people could really hear was "boarding now", which created a bit of a rush of everyone. It would be helpful if there were an SAS representative to stand next to the line, to physically say to people, 'Okay, we are now only doing priority boarding. If you are priority boarding, please stand her. After that, if you are business class, please stand here. Everyone else, please wait, but know that we will start to board from the back of the plane. Pros: "They had a kiosk, which was nice. In the US (Dulles) on my way out, I had no way to print a picket without waiting in line. I don't have a printer at home and the mobile ticket system was not working, so I had to wait in a very long line despite the fact that I had no luggage just to get my ticket. Every other airline had a Kiosk. In Gdansk, I was glad to see that they had a kiosk."
Cons: "Although I could print my the ticket for the first leg at the kiosk, I could not print the second. I asked the woman at the desk, and she could not print either. I had to fly to the connecting airport with no connecting ticket in hand."

Pros: "Arlanda airport is quiet and fast. Security line took less than 5 minutes. The terminal was quiet and had a good place to lie down and take a nap. I did not feel anxious or tense like I always do in US airports. SAS is a great airline with pleasant crew and decent food. (Great food by airline standards.) Entertainment is great too -- lots of free movies on the built-in screen. My only complaint is that the airplane wifi wasn't free."

Beware if traveling with family."
