Cons: Terrible logistics. Stuck on tarmac because they couldn’t clear the previous plane out of the gate. Fellow passengers missed their connecting flights.
Cons: Canceled flight caused me to remain in a hotel for another day. Confusing check in. No one to help. Machines broken. Unable to disembark from the plane. Bad logistics all the way around.
Pros: Landed early in Austin, always nice.
Cons: For an over 3hr flight, no snacks for sale was surprising and disappointing. Wifi entertainment did not work on personal devices, either.
Pros: My flight was canceled and I don't know when or how much I will be refunded. The flight was canceled due to "maintenance" and they booked me on a new flight...for 16 hours later on the NEXT DAY. That was not acceptable for me and my travel companion since we have work today. There were no other flights and rental cars were scarce. I was able to book us tickets on a bus, and incurred costs for the bus tickets and the transportation to the bus stop. I want to be compensated for those costs AND refunded for the price of the ticket.
Cons: Everything. There was also a lot of miscommunication about how my gate checked bag would be handled. Once I got back to Austin, my husband had to drive all the way out to the airport to retrieve my bag because they were not able to give it to me in Dallas. It was a huge inconvenience all around.
Pros: Took care of us, gave us snacks and drinks, and pillows and blankets
Cons: Plane almost caught up in flames. Gas was filled through the entire plane. Had a big scare.
Pros: Great crew
Pros: Great crew, clean plane.
Cons: Bring back beverage service when you can!
Cons: Its okay
Cons: More beverages
Cons: The communication to the passengers. Our flight kept getting delayed every 30 min. They kept telling us different reasons. We were supposed to take off at 2:40pm and we waited every 30 min delay until 7pm. We have kids so we had to get home. We ended up renting a car and driving to Austin.
Cons: Handicap issues. We were exiting on the tarmac in Charlotte- all crew left us on the plane waiting for assistance to get off. Finally when someone showed they would not come up the ramo to get my Mom. I backed her down myself while 5 bewildered airport workers looked confused.
Pros: Travel time was great
Cons: The chairs can be more comfortable.
Cons: 2 hour delays on both flights of a round trip
Pros: Even the food was decent (granted, I flew in 1st,so at least there was food).
Cons: Power outlet cover was busted. But it worked.
Pros: Flight did not take place because of cancelled return flight. the whole itinerary was cancelled.
Cons: because of cancelled flight I had to schedule a new itinerary directly through American Airlines. The cost increased from $947.50 to $1,873 plus airport parking for 17 days.
Pros: I fflew Delta last Nov. Had meals movies dinner inks etc. American I am serv d beverages no meals and no movies. Getting ridiculous
Pros: Great seats in first class
Pros: We got to our destination safely, and American provided us with extra legroom seats.
Cons: Service was curt and there was only phone-based entertainment.
Pros: I lost money, I came back a day later wish it wasn’t plan and is NOT ok .
Cons: Cramped seating
Cons: I bought travel insurance as I do with any trip. I have a complicated family emergency that forced me to call off the trip. Being that I bought trip insurance, I felt good. Well turns out they make you jump through so many hoops that your travel insurance fee is useless. I sent a letter to Allianz (the company that handles the travel insurance) and blasted them for their insensitivity in a difficult time. Going forward, I will not be purchasing travel insurance in the future. It may sound irrational but if you think about it, travel insurance is the tax on gullible people. You hear travel insurance and one assumes that if you spend the extra money on the insurance and something comes up, you can at least get much of your money back. Don't count on it! It's a 1/1000 chance they will do the right thing so the odds are not in people's favor. If you want to be smart, use the money you would have spent on travel insurance on some pre flight cocktails at the airport bar. Air travel is hellish enough without scams like Allianz!
Cons: Leg room/space BA offers is calculated for short and small body frame passengers and it is on not acceptable. It feels like cattle Wagon. BA should show consideration for real passengers not some sort of statistical average. I am 6'4" and sitting in your plane's cabin inflicts hours of body pain. The space given is sufficient for children and teenagers. Also sitting in the hot cabin for extended amount of time is extremely uncomfortable. Why there is no cooling and proper air ventilation right from the beginning?
Pros: I was so happy I could check in online and boarding was a breeze. I actually got to sit by the window when my original seat was in the middle. So nice of the ladies to suggest it to me.
Cons: No complaints
Pros: the plane was very new and in excellent condition
Pros: everything was on tyime
Pros: On time take off
Cons: Delayed waiting to unload fuel, then delayed again after they broke the tow-bar and had to inspect the nose gear. Hot cabin while waiting.
Pros: I got home safely
Cons: The airport was super crowded and the space in the plane was cramped (and I am a small person - 120 pounds). The plane was not clean and I actually picked up a virus on the plane and am still sick. I wiped down all of the surface area around my seat and still got sick. Airline travel is miserable and crowded and there is minimum service.
Cons: He flight was extremely cold and they did not have any blankets. Very uncomfortable.
Pros: I liked the 2 x 2 seating arrangement. Leg room was adequate.
Pros: I got these flights for dj jobs I had under a us p2 visa. My original flight to dallas was delayed from 12:56 to 8pm which would of landed me in dallas at 2:21am but the club Fat Rabbit closes at 2am Which in fact was a 1300 (US dollar) loss. I re booked my ticket to Austin from Vancouver this morning because the only reason to go dallas was my job. Was supposed to fly in have dinner play music get back on the plane n go Austin but going to dallas was irrelevant and a 7 hour delay was absolutely ridiculous.
Cons: The fact I lost 1300.00 us has pissed me off I'm contacting AA about this I have my visa papers n contracts to show proof if not action is taken i will be contacting a lawyer
Pros: JAL is customer oriented and it's always a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, though the return trip is also JAL, the cabin crew isn't.
Pros: Boarding was good, Good flight , good service , plane was small for the distance with limited space for movement ,
Cons: Got to charlotte with 80 minutes to connect. Sat on the tarmac for 60 waiting for a gate. Missed connection by <5 minutes. Thanks, AA!
Pros: Non stop
Pros: New plane with leather like seats and good entertainment system.
Pros: Both power and USB plugs at each seat. Entertainment options not bad.
Cons: Very narrow seats with little leg room. Reclined seat in front of you is right in your face.
Pros: Crew were friendly and helpful, the magazine was worth reading and the flight was smooth and on time.
Cons: The seat felt like a wooden block was strapped to my back.
Cons: No food or beverages for me. I slept comfortably on my flight
Pros: Crew was super nice
Cons: Flight was hour late leaving. Seats too close together. Guy next to me dipped himself in cologne before boarding.
Cons: the flight was 4 hours late. we were constantly shuffled to different gates. the internet on the flight didn't work.
Pros: The crew, how we left promptly and didn't take ages boarding.
Cons: The seats, the lack of food options.
Pros: Good customer service but to be expected
Cons: Horrible bin space Sitting arrangement southwest has better system including free baggage
Pros: Frankly there isn't much to say here. After 7 flights in 2 weeks there was only 1 flight with great staff that actually cared about the customers and looked like they enjoyed their job. The rest treated guests with indifference at best.
Cons: Customer service is dreadful, the planes are so old they still have cigarette lighter charges in first (but of course no adapters), no food/snacks of any significance, and they seemingly cancel flights at a whim with basically no staff to help re-book the lines of guests that have been disrupted. I pity those who loose luggage AA baggage services are flooded with lost baggage they just don't care any more. Seriously its embarrassing how little they care about customer service.
Pros: The crew was professional.
Pros: Amazing crew!
Cons: Keep traveler's updated on delays.
Pros: Smooth flight
Cons: More room on plane. Seats are very close together
Cons: Flight delayed
Cons: Higher Priced seating was left empty and people were not spaced properly in the cheap seats in the back despite the extra room on board at takeoff.
Pros: Great value
Cons: The seats weren't very comfortable, but I could make due.
Cons: More space on the flight
Pros: Was able to get an Economy Plus seat, which is nice - great legroom for an almost 6' tall person and power plug is very handy. Entertainment & screens on the 787 is very good. Regular distributions of water was very helpful since I wasn't able to fill up my bottle before getting on the flight.
Cons: Not a great amount of food available, and one of the larger cabin crew members kept brushing my arm as she walked past, which didn't help me get any sleep.
Pros: Came close to missing flight because of gate delay because of connecting flight, but one of the flight attendants saw I was flustered and sweaty and gave me a cup of water before the flight even took off. Very thoughtful and nice.
Cons: On time departure. A comfortable seat.
Pros: People caring for people. We flew for a familiar emergency and the personnel on board understood the situation and was very kind.
Pros: Helpful crew and loads of space on bulkhead with bassinet (had to pay extra for the seats though but worth it when travelling with five month old).
Cons: Misinformed about luggage being checked all the way to Auckland - like other US airports all luggage must be collected and handed over again for onward journeys. Also travel cot was lost in transit.
Pros: Staff was all friendly and exhibited positive and helpful attitudes. I also think the price and route was an excellent deal for this flight. It was actually such a good deal, it’s the main reason I even went.
Cons: I think the baggage restrictions thing is really slimey and a shameful scam. I actually wouldn’t have minded paying around $50 more for my ticket and hand the bag included than be misled into thinking I could take luggage and finding out after it’s too late that I have to pay for my luggage. I think it’s a really sleazy business tactic (akin to resort fees). Fortunately for me however, I don’t travel with luggage so it doesn’t directly affect me. Still think it’s. Shitty way to do business though.
Pros: Not much
Cons: Cabin AirConditioning fault. Air bridge fault all delayed flights from Fort Lauderdale to San Antonio
Pros: United seems to have simplified how it separates the boarding groups, so getting on the plane was well organized. The 787 aircraft was spacious and comfortable, which seems to put both passengers and crew in a good mood. Lots of entertainment options were available, so the three hour flight flew by. And we arrived early! A great experience on United.
Cons: Too cramped and no flight entertainment
Pros: Landed early
Cons: No wifi or substantial snacks/dinner. Paid for bag
Cons: Fellow passengers; too many howling kids with clueless parents
Pros: The journey was smooth
Pros: Boarding and checking in was great..
Cons: there where some issues with the airplane from the beginning we were inform that the seat belt and cigarette icons lights were no working . but then they have to call technicians to do a recheck on the plane so there more issues no just about the lights we have to stay in the plane until fixed some people lost their connection flights. the terminal where we landed was a long walk to customs then pick up bags and transport to the next terminal no enough time to eat between flights. to stressful .
Cons: My friend and I have taken our hiking packs to Alaska, California, Washington, and all along the East coast. Never have we been asked to check our packs. I was mostly surprised, at first. Once I was seated a man in front of me had his hiking pack and two ukuleles in their cases, neither of which could fit under his seat. That's when I became frustrated. O This plane sucks: our knees were slammed into the seat in front of us because the chairs are so close together. No USB plugs. Plane was dirty, scuff marks on the wall and ceiling. There was paper in the pouch that looked like a mouse had chewed on it.
Pros: Service was excellent
Cons: We we're delayed at customs and missed our flight. We were told we were re-booked on a flight, so we ran across the airport, with two small children, to make that flight only to be told that weren't actually re-booked and needed to go standby. We then waited in line at customer service for two hours to be informed that United won't pay for a hotel. The customer service rep. did offer that if we wanted to take our kids across the airport, now at 11:30 at night, we could look for a United Supervisor in Terminal E, and if we were lucky enough to find one, they might override the policy and cover the hotel. Really! I understand that United doesn't have control over customs, but United did book an international flight with just over an hour layover, knowing that any slowdown in customs means missed flights. That's fine. The problem I have is when it happened, United's Customer Service model was to provide misinformation, incredible slow service, and what seemed like a complete lack of interest by United employees to do anything to make the situation better. There were no supervisors at the service counter, only 1 representative for an hour or so, and when the other representatives showed up, they were discussing going on break and going home. All with a very long line of people stuck in the airport waiting to get some help. I could accept this as an isolated instance, but since booking this trip, I have been getting the same level of service over the phone while trying to submit a refund request for my son who did not join us on the trip. United's 24 hour refund policy has taken 6 weeks and many hours online and on the phone and I still have no idea what the status of that request is, and apparently neither does anybody at United. The interaction I have had with your employees have been friendly and courteous, but extremely time consuming, with a lot of incorrect information and no resolution. Very mediocre at best.
Pros: The space of the plane since I volunteered to be at the emergency door I felt comfortable...
Cons: Not giving me my seat number because my ticket was not a standby ticket and I seem to think that the agent thought that I was on standby but I have to go to him several time to make him understand that my ticket had a confirmation number and I did a reserve and I needed a seat number it was not on standby when he checked it he said okay and I also explained to him that I was a military personnel ... The agent should treat us with respect you should have gave me a better information and just throw me away then going back to him several times for the correct solution...
Pros: On time.
Cons: New looking plane but the TVs behind all the chairs were locked without a credit card. The new chairs looked great until you sat in them. I'm 5'10" and my knees were already brushing up against the seatback in front of me. If you push the recline button on the armrest, the chair doesn't go back (of course it doesn't, the person's legs behind me are probably up against my chair anyway). Multiple people around me were also asking around if the chairs recline. I have a mild back injury and sitting up at 90 degrees the entire way was very uncomfortable.
Pros: The ticket staff. The only thing about the Harlingen airport is that it needs more than a couple of exray machines ....the Valley is woefully behind in staff training and technology. It took forever to get through the short lines...it was too long of a wait.
Cons: The way that a couple of young AA men who were biligirent, combative and vulgar upset about their seat assignments. I told one of the young men to stop using vulgarity and no way to treat the lady that was doing her job, she continued treating them with courtesy and they kept mumbling under their breath God knows what. So young and already so bitter. They were towering over her and took a confrontational stance...she finally called security. I would not allowed them on the plane. I commend the young lady there in Harlingen.
Pros: Finally getting to SEA
Cons: The Captain kept lying to the passengers why we were delaid ! Finally after 40 minutes sitting on the ramp he came on and apolized for telling us the wrong information but actually what happened was someone loaded all the luggage in the aft baggage compdartment incorrectly and they had to reload the the bags and move then to the forward compartment This certainty didn't give you a safe feeling knowing there ground crew didn't know ho to load there plane correctly! Another reason not to fly United Airlines! Everett Johnson, Bellevue Wash.
Pros: The flight attendants were nice, unlike the people at the ticket and gate counters.
Cons: My flight was delayed by nearly two hours, causing me to have to miss my connection. Though they knew for hours that the flight would be delayed, they did not have enough people working at the check in counters. There were not that many people in line, but I had to wait more than 20 minutes before being able to speak to someone. The representative informed me that I would have to be rebooked onto a later connection because the delay would cause my to miss my original connecting flight, and when I told her that I needed an earlier time to avoid missing a meeting, she just said "I have nothing earlier." She was barely even apologetic. Then she was unable to print my boarding pass for my connection. I had a 2 hour and 45 minute layover in Houston whereas in my original flight it was 1 hour.
Pros: Safe landing in windy conditions.
Cons: Air-con failure delayed departure. No complimentary food or OH. Poor legroom. Nothing
Cons: I was warned about booking with this airline but I had to see it for myself before listening to others now I wish I had done just that. First of all, outdated planes, no Tv screens, expensive wifi. How is it only $3 one way and then $5 the other especially after making us wait for 3 hours and 22 minutes extra. Exhausting flights both to Albuquerque from Houston and from Houston to Boston. Poor communication. Poor planning ahead. Very dissatisfied. Going with Jet Blue from now on. They never disappoint, even if there was a delay in flight.
Cons: Ended up sitting on the tarmac for 30-40 minutes. Many people almost missed or did miss flights.
Pros: Download the United app, it makes the flight better.
Cons: Seating...loudness..cost of beverages..getting/storing baggage. Aesthetics
Pros: I like everything!!everyone was so nice that it makes you feel so welcome and that you're like in home!!!
Pros: The crew was very nice as we got on.
Cons: As usually United over booked and even though I brought my ticket in advance I some how did not have a seat assigned to me when I checked in. Most of the plane had boarded before I had a ticket in my hand. The agent was rude as she could be because I didn't understand how that's possible for me not to have a seat. I think that it's absolutely ridiculous that it's even possible to over sale a plane since there's obviously only a certain number of seats. I think it's ridiculous that people have to offer up their seat and take another flight, I chose a flight time because that's when I wanted to leave and get to where I was going for a reason. No other industry is allowed to treat their customers this way so why does the airline industry do it? Also there's no tv or movies for us to watch while in a 4 hour flight.
Pros: crew, takeoff, landing and flight were good on each flight. no complaints there.
Cons: from COS to FLL: first flight was late taking off. connecting flight was on time. this is a bad combination. i was literally seconds from missing my connecting flight, and that was after sprinting from one terminal to another. captain on the first flight announced that takeoff was delayed because they were waiting for flight charts to finish downloading. really? WELL THEN GET THERE 20 MINUTES EARLIER AND BE PREPARED TO LEAVE *ON TIME* SO THAT PASSENGERS DON'T MISS (OR NEARLY MISS) THEIR CONNECTIONS!!!
Pros: The staff was very friendly and accommodating
Cons: There was some sort of mix up with seat assignments two guys had the same seat assignment. The very nice gentleman who was sitting in my seat due this stood and allowed me to have my seat as it was on the isle and I was in boarding group 5 and my seat was all the way at the end by the bathrooms and needed to be able to stretch my legs into the isle. There was absolutely no leg room what so ever. The dude next to me spent the entire trip jabbing me in the side with his elbow so that he could access what little space I did have. I was unable to move my legs because every two seconds the entire plane was trekking to the back to use the bathroom, because while there was a third bathroom on the plane towards the front, for whatever reason nobody seemed to be using it.
Pros: Flight was pleasant.
Cons: My luggage was left behind and it was an awful experience! My medication was in my luggage and could not use it which made me suffer tremendous pain and discomfort. No one got back to me to offer compensation!
Pros: Both flights left on time and arrived at least 20 minutes early. My bag arrived at the baggage claim ten minutes after I arrived, and all went very well. I'm grateful.
Cons: All was perfect
Pros: Everything really was superb. Food rated low because of a measly biscuit on a 6 hour flight. Entertainment rated low because I even had to pay to gain access to the flight tracker. And, as far as airlines go, comfort should've been 5 stars, but I really could have used a back pillow. Or even a back pillow option (had I asked an attendant - all of whom were awesome). PS. Kayak's regular emails kept me unusually updated on flight progress and their communication was the main factor in my decision to complete this survey.
Pros: Text and email alerts.
Cons: Everything. We arrived 2 hours early and my daughter worked very hard to fit everything she needed into a carry on bag which was not easy. Her flight was delayed, delayed again, delayed again, and then cancelled. She was flying alone and should have received top priority and been one of the first called up to figure out how to get her to her destination. But that did not happen. She didn't know what to do at first then got in the long line of people and waited her turn. ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT HER ONLY OPTION WAS TO FLY OUT ON A LATER FLIGHT TO HOUSTON WHICH WOULD MAKE HER MISS HER CONNECTING FLIGHT ANT THEN STAY THE NIGHT ALONE IN HOUSTON AND WAIT THE ENTIRE NEXT DAY THERE UNTIL 9 THE NEXT NIGHT TO CATCH HER FINAL FLIGHT TO SALT LAKE CITY. I cannot even explain how angry and horrified I was that your airline thought that was acceptable for an unaccompanied minor! Clearly this one option that was offered to her by you was not accepted. Then she calls and a guy tells her he can get her there and is going to book her new flights.....only to get disconnected and never called her back. After that there was no one to be found at the desks for your airline. At this point I had driven back to the airport (spent hours driving and waiting) when a wonderful lady from a different airline helped my daughter out and got her on a different airline. However she had to check her bag due to her seating after all the hard work she put in to not checking her bag.
Pros: Flight times were accurate.
Cons: As soon as we arrived to the airport, checking in was the biggest hassle. We were harassed by a guy working the ticket counter named Guilermo. He was EXTREMELY rude and continued to harass us and followed us after we checked in and we're already at the security check point. It's $25 to check a bag but if you check 2 bags their website says its $35 for both. We were charged $50 to check two bags. Even after Guilermo told both of us that they wouldn't charge us for the second bag to be checked. The guy that checked our bags was also extremely rude and clearly didn't care. Once we started boarding the flight several passengers had to check their bags at the gate because there "wasn't enough room on the plane". Not really sure how this was fair since we had just paid $50 to check two bags and were lied to about it when several people just checked their bags for free. We chose to fly with United because of the good deals they have on flights but after our experience I would MUCH rather pay more money and have a lot better customer service. We had such a horrible experience it almost ruined our first day of our week long trip. I'm. It really sure if it's obvious to the employees of United but traveling for most people is a very special occasion. This occasion happen to be a very special one to us as it was a family vacation and seeing family we haven't seen in years. The poor attitudes and rude demeanor from the United staff is all we could think about even after we reached our destination.
Pros: we were 10 minutes early to the gate
Cons: super cramped quarters, like touching legs to the next person the whole squirmy flight close... the plane was made for little people.
Pros: They got me on a flight home that night
Cons: I had to wait 4 hours in the St. Louis airport and 4 hours in the Dallas airport. Was a very long day!!!! I do not like to fly American Airlines and that was the only flight that was available. The plains are small and cabin pressure always hurts my ears.
Pros: Seats were okay as far as comfort level
Cons: This flight was overbooked. I had to be back at work the next day, so I really needed to take it. The gate agents wouldn't tell me what was going on, only that the flight was overbooked and that they were "trying to get me a seat." I stood there while all of the groups boarded, waiting for my ticket. I was the last person given a ticket. By the time I finally got to board, all overhead space was taken, so I had to gate check my bag. And then someone had taken the seat I was given, so I had to ask him to move, and he started crying (child). He cried for 20 minutes, so that was fun. Also, this was a red eye - I really wanted to sleep, but right as I was dozing off, the flight attendants turned on the lights for drink service. Overall, just a really poor experience and very hard to sleep.
Pros: Flight was on time
Pros: Flight itself went smoothly and crew was responsive to people's needs
Cons: The check-in process for Frontier is a scam. Initial cost of my flight was $70, but they neglected to inform me of extra charges like carry-on and assigned seating until the time of Check-in, which upped my price to ~$130. Still not the worst price, but it was very scummy that this wasn't just charged upfront. Seats are uncomfortable, which led to many people getting up despite the seatbelt sign being on.
Pros: Seat was average.
Cons: If frontier was offering drinks and snacks again
Cons: Upholding mask expectations! Several passengers deviated without accountability checks by crew.
Pros: Direct 3 hour flight! Easy
Cons: Bring on time but not a biggie!
Pros: For low fare it’s ok
Cons: It’s ok as we travelled as low fare
Cons: SERIOUSLY, no WiFi purchase option??!
Pros: The flight attendants were pretty nice and attentive. The captain was good at keeping the passengers updated.
Cons: The 2 hour delay was not fun while we sat waiting on the airplane. I realize this is not the crew’s fault.
Pros: Cost of flight.
Cons: The seats in a A320/321 are not adjustable. A much longer flight then a couple of hours would be tuff.
Pros: Crew did fine. Flight was on time.
Cons: The area I sat in smelled of vomit upon boarding. In addition sat next to a child that pooped himself about 15 minutes after takeoff and his parents neglected to change him for the remainder of the flight. One of the adult beverages that I attempted to order was in the menu, but no longer carried.
Cons: Plane was scheduled to depart at 8:20 pm it was then delayed until 8:58 pm due to weather. We all boarded the plane and were ready for take off when a maintenance issue was discovered. We all deplaned and we’re told we would be put on a new plane arriving from Seattle set to depart at 11:30 pm. This departure time was delayed until 1:35 am and then 2:35 am because the captain had timed out and we would need to wait for a new pilot. Also due to the first delay everything was coded as “weather” and customer service was unable to give hotel rooms. This miscommunication between corporate and passengers and the late night created lots of frustration. Instead of being helpful or honest customer service called security on the disgruntled passengers. I heard no threats of violence just elevated voices. At midnight Frontier began handing out meal vouchers (15 dollars to McDonald’s) as a way to increase morale. I finally gave up and requested a refund, got a hotel, and a new flight on a different airline (all Frontier flights the next day were sold out). When I asked what would happen to my checked luggage they said it would be sent to Dallas (my destination) or I could pay for it to be sent back to Denver. The flight and my luggage arrived in Dallas at 5:30 am. Paid $400 for Southwest flight the next day (flying into different Dallas airport away from my parked car and luggage) just for the guaranteed service.
Pros: 2.5 hours is long enough to get thirsty, a cup of water would have been nice.
Pros: Getting off the plane.
Cons: Missed my flight because lack of people to check people in. So slow. Waited 25 minutes. Figured I missed my flight since the board said on time. It was 2:25. Asked if I could get on 7:30 flight. Took computer 10 minutes for her to see and book. As I left, she said the 2:30 was still boarding. I said, oh, do you think I could still make it? She said the plane was still loading and running a bit late, but impossible to get on because I was booked on the 7:30 flight. I will probably not fly Frontier again. 4 hours later and $50 dollars in the hole for food and drink sitting here dreading my middle seat and no room to move for 2 hours. Then, have to pay for a Lyft to get to my car because my cousin was my ride back to her house. I sure do miss the old Frontier.
Pros: The leg room was very good. The flight was right on time! The plane was neat and clean. The price was the best. Nice crew.
Cons: I'd have liked a drink and a snack since the Starbucks next to the site was so slow I stood in line 1/2 hour and left without getting to the counter for coffee! Doesn't everyone take luggage - just add it to the ticket price so one can know the actual cost.
Pros: Very cheap
Cons: Very uncomfortable no elbow room or leg room and the chairs are hard.
Pros: The staff that handled baggage was nice. Also, I liked that we made it safe.
Cons: My flight was supposed to leave at 3:50...I got to the airport and went through security before I found out that my flight was delayed until 7:30. The flight kept getting pushed back. I waited 8 hours before the flight took off. There no outlets anywhere...leaving customers at a disadvantage because with our delay, our electronics were all almost dead or dead. There were no food options. We were supposed to get a voucher, and I have not received it. Lastly, after waiting over 8 HOuRS, we still had to pay for snack and drink. I was ripped off and will not be flying with Frontier again.
Pros: the beginning price - maybe?
Cons: I got to the airport in Dallas 2 hours before my 6:55 flight, and at that very moment, received a text that the flight was delayed 3 hours. At that time, there was NO ONE at the Frontier check in to explain what was going on. I understand there was excessive wind in Denver, but there should have at least been a Frontier representative at the gate in Dallas. On my way home, again the flight was delayed by an hour because of something on a previous leg. Because of this, I am going to go with any other airline first. I think Frontier should either co-op with other airlines to get people to their destinations on time or have more planes.......or AT LEAST have someone at the gate to offer next day service or a voucher or a free snack or something. I also do not like the whole A LA CARTE theme with this airline and Spirit Air. I do not like that I was going to be charged for a coffee or a coke. The whole thing is too confusing, and I am going to pay more for an American, United or Southwest flight next time.
Pros: This flight-my return flight left on time. My flight to Denver was delayed 2 hrs. No one at the desk said anything until it was time to board, then they let us know of the 2 hr delay. Disorganized!
Cons: Disorganized and nickle & dimed ! Carry on's cost, drinks in flight cost, can't select seats until you check in.....as a whole-not customer friendly. Won't fly Frontier again.
Cons: Canceled my flight eight hours before "supposed" weather even hit and had no other flights to put me on. Ended up having to cancel my entire weekend trip. Customer service was not friendly or apologetic!
Cons: How is it acceptable to place someone who is highly allergic to dogs right next to a lady with a service dog on the flight? I spent 25 bucks to upgrade my seat to avoid the nuisances of an everyday flight. I didn't think I'd be stuck next to an animal. How is it acceptable to not disclose that I'd be stuck next to a service dog? I was miserable the entire 2.5 hour flight back to denverz I am extremely irritated.
Pros: 2 hour wait for baggage check in. Then an additional 6 hour wait for flight, only to find out it was cancelled non weather related. Terrible airline. Kayak should not be associated.
Pros: not much
Cons: I have been more comfortable on church basement folding chairs that the seats on Frontier. I did pay to move to seat 1A, and it still felt like a torture device.
Pros: good communication about short delay
Cons: seats are really uncomfortable!
Pros: The crew on my flight from Dallas to Denver did nothing about the obnoxious children (6 & 9yrs old) behind me who kept screaming, yelling & kicking my seat & the one next to me. The little boy behind my neighbor stood up & hit the man on the head.
Cons: While waiting on my flight in Denver to go back to Dallas they changed gates on at least 5 different flights & it was very confusing watching groups of 50-100 passengers moving back & forth. This all happened in about 15min & my flight was called to board during all this chaos but because the woman making the announcements did not speak very good English I along with several others missed our flights. When i went to customer service to rebook my flight they tried to charge me $100 to rebook!!!!! Other airlines will try to book you on the next available flight thru another airline. Frontier told me the next available was 24hrs later, same time the next day. I was supposed to be back at work the next day. So i ended up spending $150 on a hotel room that i couldn't really afford. I WILL NOT FLY WITH FRONTIER AGAIN.
Pros: I like that the seats are thinner without a lot of padding. It gives more leg room. I like that my knees aren't hitting that seat in front of me. That crew was very nice.
Cons: I don't like having to pay extra for my luggage. One bag should always be free and extra bags should be paid for. Paying for water is bad too. Water is cheap. People would buy a snack if they get free water. The fold down tray is also too small.
Pros: There were quiet babies on the flight.
Cons: It took longer than usual to board and the staff kept going back and forth about going through the safety proceedures.
Pros: The price and and the ease of connections was great,
Cons: The layovers of over 6 hours were not great and the flights back home were both delayed, but not much.
Pros: The no-frills (cheap) pricing.
Cons: We had about a 3 hour delay with no explanation. The tickets told us to be there for boarding at the normal time though, so we were essentially threatened with missing the flight and had to hang out in the airport for several hours. The seats don't lie back at all, and the airline is very basic. Then again, you get what you pay for and we were expecting that.
Pros: Price, a non-stop route at a good times, friendly attendants and pilot.
Cons: Paying extra for many things that are typically included (water, almost all seats, carry-ons), seats didn't recline and weren't comfortable if flight is long, no magazine to read.
Pros: We landed safely
Cons: The flight crew was atrocious. They were rude when they spoke to us and when I asked for refreshments they turned around as if to get them for me and then the lady sitting next to my husband had to get their attention again to ask a second time if I could have water and Chex Mix so I could take my medicine. I have serious health conditions and I couldn't even get water without paying $3 a bottle. It is disgusting to me that we are charged for flight and then charged for Refreshments during that flight. Any other Airline who charges for a seat to take you to your destination includes at least drinks and nuts for free but not you.
Cons: THE FLIGHT KEPT BEING DELAYED ALL DAY AND THEN IT WAS CANCELLED. PASSENGERS HAD TO SECURE OTHER FLIGHTS TO THEIR DESTINATIONS. SOME EVEN MISSED IMPORTANT EVENTS LIKE FUNERALS, CRUISES APPOINTMENTS, ETC. I WAS A DAY LATE FOR MY EVENT. I THINK WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD IMMEDIATELY SO WE COULD HAVE MADE OTHER ARRANGEMENTS EARLIER. I WAS NOT A HAPPY CAMPER AND WILL NOT CONSIDER FLYING FRONTIER IN THE FUTURE!!!!!!!! THAT WAS MY FIRST AND LAST TIME TO PURCHASE TRANSPORTATION FROM FRONTIER AIRLINES.
Pros: I was transported safely from point A to B. That's about it.
Cons: Check-in was atrocious as we watched the clerks migrate from one crisis to the next, and no TSA pre-check. WAITING at every stage of the flight. You would think a one-way would be simple, but no. An hour at the departure terminal, delayed in-air, then sitting on the taxiway for an hour and a half at the destination, followed by more waiting at the gate. The pilot's excuses didn't help any, clearly trying to avoid an onboard riot for a flight in which we waited longer on the ground than we flew in the air. We checked the board afterward to see if any other airlines' flights were delayed--nope, only Frontier, every one. It's clear what happens. They pay the least possible expense for airport services, and are then the lowest priority at every stage of operations, resulting in delays at every phase of flight. The most frustrating flight I've ever had that didn't include actual incompetence or bad weather.
Pros: The price and the actual flight was quick and the attendants were nice.
Cons: Stephen Lucero 352936 discriminated against us at the gate. We were the only two people out of everyone boarding flight F9 129 to be pulled aside and asked to pay for a personal item that fit the size restrictions of the metal bag sizer outside the gate. We watched 50+ people walk onto the plane with not issues with multiple and bigger bags. We waited patiently but with frustration for an explanation and he could not offer one. When we asked what the problem was with us he threatened to not allow us to board whether or not we paid the bag fee. He did not take care of our unjust bag payment until 9:11 which was after the doors of the plane were to be closed. Aside from him being rude (which is a major understatement) paying for the bag wouldnt not have been an issue and it would have been justified had we not just flew into Denver two days before with the exact same bags. I was both embarrassed and humiliated and out of money for no reason.
Cons: The flight was delayed several times, never even offered a free drink for the trouble
Cons: Fronteir created new seats that do not recline, are quite thin and small tray tables that don't lock. The consequence is that the man next to me couldn't lean back enough, so slumped onto me most of the flight. A one year old behind me constantly pulled up and down the unmatchable tray table and kicked my thin chair -- so I felt every little tiny foot. The stewardess refused to give us water when our row asked and they forgot to call boarding zone 2 when boarding so it was a mess. I would say Frontier was a terrible airline. Their discounted prices are a farce as they charge for a seat and carry-on luggage, so I may as well have paid for a regular fare from a more comfortable airline.
Cons: Frontier has a ton of hidden fees...including no free drinks/snacks on the flight, fee for carry-ons. Seats do not recline so you're stuck in 1 position the whole flight. Tray tables were the same size as an iphone.
Cons: The flight was delayed a few hours. It took forever to Get out of the gate. It took an hour once we landed to get in the gate and deplane. I was given a seat on the computer and then when I got on the plane there were two people with same seat. The floors and seats were unbelievably dirty as well. I have never seen so much trash and crumbs everywhere. It was an awful experience. Our trip to Vegas the first night was ruined because we were planning to see a show Thursday evening and landed two hours late and could have possibly made it but we sat on runway for an hour before deplaning.
Pros: the crew made the best of a miserable corporate policy; the baggage arrived - 45 minutes after landing.
Cons: 2.0 hours late boarding; boarded 2x; lousy information; surly condescending station manager; insane baggage counter hours; no connection information in flight despite airline full responsibility for everyone on the plane being behind schedule.; connecting flight still at gate when 10 people tried to board and were not given access until a near riot occurred; no one seemed care at all. A woman with 5 week old child, a senior citizen with a cane, a woman recovering form surgery all RAN from gate to the other (about 1/2 miles) only to be told they were too late, the terminal door was closed. Only after pounding on the door, cajoling the customer service people 10 feet away and telling 50 others waiting in the service area did the door open!
Pros: The boarding process was easy and organized. They were also on time.
Cons: They charge for everything. I pre checked my bag at a cost of $70. If I had waited to do it at the airport it would have been $90.
Cons: I didn't know I had to pay for a carry-on bag upon arrival. That's an additional $45 I didn't know about. There was a 4 hour delay and no clear explanation as to why. There was never an agent at the desk when people tried to ask. Our gate changed 3 times. Overall an awful experience and I will never be flying Frontier again.
Pros: Plane was clean. Seats were very comfortable l, but not much leg room
Cons: They charge for for everything on this flight. Checking in - it cost $35 to check your bag in - $40 of you want to board with it! I do all the work and I have to pay more? Then to pick a seat - any seat - it is another $5 - $25. I understand that for premium seating (ext, etc) but any seat? Finally - drinks and snacks - that costs money too. While the fare looks cheap - beware of all the add ons. At a minimum, you have an additional $70 to $100 to the price of the ticket This does not turn out to be a cheaper price....beware.
Cons: Charge $45+tax for ONE checked bag AND $40+tax for a CARRY ON!?! I'll be sharing this fact with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, FourSquare and Yelp. I'm never flying Frontier again and I'll be telling everyone I know to avoid them as well.
Pros: On Friday, July 8, at DIA airport I waited almost an hour before someone took me to my gate A42 for Flight 122 supposedly departing at 8:10 and boarding at 7:35. Finally, I had to bring this to the attention of the ticket agent as I did not want to miss my flight. Noone came and the poor overworked worker took me at 7:45 -we did not arrive at the gate until 8 o'clock (luckily the TSA checkpoints were NOT busy) and had the flight been on time, I would probably have missed it. This gentleman asked repeatedly for assistance for over 40 minutes and no one came to his aid. I panicked and I want Corporate to know they need to hire adequate help so their customers are not treated like dirt. Once I boarded, the crew was fabulous! However, I am not happy about such a horrible experience. I deserve a refund or free return ticket for my inconvenience. I have flown other airlines and have never had such a negative experience with wheelchair assistance!!!
Cons: You all charge piece meal for everything; yet you don't hire enough people - I bet Corporate executives are getting their fair share!
Cons: no amenities
Pros: The flight, the crew, the updates from the airline and Kayak was great. Frontier is a great company and very affordable.
Cons: The airline increased the bag fees for the summer without an obvious communication. Very unfair and un professional from such a company. I paid $10 extra than 5 days before. The only problem with Frontier is that to check in bags there is only 1 maybe 2 people taking bags for full planes at least 100+ passengers. As it is cheaper and better to check in bags than carry on the airline should make this proccess more efficient. I spend at least 20-30 minutes to check my bag each wat ok my last trip. Very unefficient!
Pros: The Staff was friendly
Cons: the flight was only cheaper until you had to either check a bag or pay to carry on! Pay to drink a soda or anything! The seats are the most stripped down uncomfortable airline seats I have ever experienced. After all the add on costs, there is no value in the cramped, crowded, uncomfortable flight. Also, on every flight at least half of the passengers were not aware of the baggage policy until it was too late to check it for less money and had to pay extra to carry on. To top it off, we had to change gates at the last minute, resulting in having to go out of the Domestic terminal and sent us all back through the check in!!! We should have at least been able to fly through the pre check if not rerouted us through another way that did not require the total shoes off, open bags, metal detection all over again!!!
Pros: The crew workers were amazing nice pilot was driving safe amazing customer services !
Cons: Y’all did amazing !!!!
Pros: Quick, fast. Everything on time
Cons: Noise from all the babies.
Pros: Smooth flight
Cons: There was a persistent wining sound next to the exit seats the entire trip that gave me a headache. The other passengers complained and were compensated on the price of their ticket upgrade but it was loud in the seats behind as well and we got nothing.
Pros: Arrived to our destination (DFW) on time
Cons: I didn’t have a problem flying Spirit Airlines because on their site they had advertised that the middle seats of their flights were going to be left open for passenger safety due to COVID-19. I was in for a surprise once we boarded because they had the plane packed. Majority, if not all, of the rows were packed. I do not recommend and will not be flying Spirit again. It’s not worth the little money saved.
Cons: If was on the time
Cons: Charging customers for chips, water or soda is horrible and not accommodating at all.
Cons: seats were very uncomfortable
Cons: Boarding pass email didn't show barcode. Was able to "click here" and get to the web page with the barcode. Once I showed it to security, the link didn't work anymore. Had to get the boarding pass printed at the gate and missed boarding with Zone 1. Plane was FREEZING COLD. Luckily I had a pullover.
Pros: Pilot is very nice for this one. Reached 20 minutes early. 10/10
Cons: Need tvs
Pros: Not one thing. Besides they got they destination right. The staff hate they’re jobs. Everyone involved in this spirit airlines besides the pilots was in a bad mood.. I really liked how they waited till literally the last min an said your bag that you have used on your 8,564 previous flights to date. Is now 65$ to put in the same exact spot you were going to put your bag to begin with.. the same bag I’ve used for a shade under two decades of travel.
Cons: You don’t have a box big enough for that. Bought ticket day in advance with insurance for this reason. checked in several hours in advance itenary machine could not print duplicate messed up several people days with not putting us on our flight. An then charging me 100$ more to secure the seat on the next flight. When all they had to do was print the item ready. I had meetings scheduled days in advance I missed that were worth 50x this entire ticket. An the airline doesn’t even know who it is that sells the insurance.? That’s a strait up scam.. worst airline in years. From the experience an the staff all the way around I was embarrassed to say I used this airline. If I had to guess on anything I think it’s close to being the next airline to hit the scrap yard. No one in this air line is committed to they’re work. I’ve always said “ Experience is the best teacher in anything”. An I’ve learned enough from this one....
Cons: We paid for the luggage when checking in, arrive to airport had to pay again because "the system" did not see it even we show them the bank statement showing the charge is pending. No even free cup of water for 2h20 long flight. Seat was so uncomfortable, and it remind of meat packing bus in India. My friend get charge $100 per carry on luggage because they "THINK" it was too big even though after you paid you still have to carry it on airplane and fit in the overhead compartment, what a highway robber. We thought we got a deal because the ticket is cheap but they DO find a way, or two, to steal more money from you. Never ever will I flight with this airline again.
Pros: On the plane, the seats were extremely comfortable, with a lot of leg room, even on the standard seats. Much more than on any flight I had flown with Southwest domestic. The staff was also a lot friendlier and generous. And there was plenty of room on the flight which made comfort affordable.
Cons: They announced that the flight was departing from a different gate, but it wasn't listed on their website and there was no way to verify it on any screens. The gate that they said the flight would be departing out of instead still had the destination on it for the previous flight. Then, after that flight departed, it showed the destination for the next flight scheduled to leave out of that gate, not the one I was on. So frankly, a lot of people were very confused on where they were supposed to be waiting. Especially since, there was boarding for a different flight at the first gate, and no screen showing the flight that was being boarded there. So it caused a lot of nervousness for a lot of us, not being sure where we were supposed to be and afraid we would miss our boarding call.
Cons: Seats were very thin, had has children kicking and screaming behind me on both flights. Both flights were late for takeoff, which was very inconvenient, and lastly I do not think your airline prices justify charging $3 for something to drink! I paid about $90 for a United direct flight to Boston, where I had free drinks, and yet I paid $150 through you guys to take two flights home as you had no direct flights back. I will never fly Spirit Airlines again. Your flights are not cheap enough either to justify charging $90 for two checked bags. Good luck, but I would rather take United.
Pros: I had a bad experience which I had not had in my life. First of all this airline delayed in Phoenix to Dallas about one and half hour, which I accepted cause one of my agent called me before. I missed my connection at Dallas to Fort Launderdale, I stayed at the airport for 12 hours. On my way back to Phoenix they did the same thing. I went to customer service at Fort Launderdale airport to complain about it nobody cared. imagine you delayed your customer for two times and you don't want hear her/his concern?
Cons: Flight Crews are nice. I can't complain about it.
Pros: A direct flight.
Cons: My return flight from Dallas to Myrtle was canceled after check in. There was poor communication as to what to do next, ultimately we were rebooked on American. If it happens to you don't be the guy yelling and screaming, we quietly asked what to do and we're rebooked amidst the chaos within 20 min or so, while the aggressors were still waiting several hours afterwards.
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: I checked into my flight at 7pm the night before my 7am flight. I drove 2 hours to the airport, parked my car, took a shuttle to the terminal and arrived at the kiosk at 6:20. I attempted to print my boarding pass because it was no longer appearing on my phone; however, the kiosk printed me out a ticket saying it was unable to print my boarding pass. When I approached a spirit employee, they told me I could no longer go to the terminal because my reservation had been canceled at 6:15 due to tardiness. In turn, the next best thing they said they could do for me was for $99 get me on the flight the next day. So due to me being 40 minutes early for my flight instead of 45 minutes I lost my reservation, had to pay $99, lost a day of vacation, and the money for my hotel tonight. Worst airline experience I've ever had.
Cons: My jofirst experience with Spirit will be my last. I was flying out to be the best man at my friends wedding on a Thursday evening when due to a mechanical issue we had to get off of the plane. My flight was from PHX to Dallas then continuing on to Fort Lauderdale. Since we had a two hour delay at PHX, they scheduled another plane to leave Dallas on time to Fort Lauderdale. They informed us that since they do not have any partner airlines they could not get us reassigned. We would either have to take a refund or we could go to Dallas and then wait until 5pm on Saturday to make it to Fort Lauderdale. I also had a seat upgrade, and they told me If I wanted to go to Dallas and wait, they would not have an upgraded seat available for me and they would not be able to refund me the upgraded price even though they would not be able to provide me the service. So I got a refund and went home. Needless to say I will pay extra next time to fly a reliable carrier. Thank you Spirit Airlines for making me miss my best friends wedding.
Cons: I was extremely disappointed when I arrived at the LA airport and was notified that my flight was delayed and therefore I would not make the connecting flight. I asked for Spirit Airline to help come up with a solution. The agents at LAX kept me at the counter for over an hour making me miss my original flight to Dallas. All the Spirit agents kept saying is that corporate doesn't allow them to help. Only option was a refund or flight out of LAX 12hrs after my original flight and take a red eye. I was at the airport with (2) children under the age of 10. The people for Spirit had poor attitudes and lacked any effort to help come up a solution. I ended up having to book a same day flight from Delta Airlines. Delta flew out at 1pm. The (2) kids and myself were at the airport at 9am to catch the 10am flight from Spirit. Long day for us.
Pros: I slept while onboard through both legs. I didn't want to be awake for the flight after the booking expirences.
Cons: On the outbound leg from Dallas I volunteered to move seats for weight and balance reasons at Spirit's request. My return leg was canceled by the gate agent or the system had me as a no show. I tried to check in for the return leg and was unable. I called to get this resolved and got a CSA that didn't understand airline travel or English not sure which. (One example was I spelled my confirmation code 5 times both phonetically and in plain language) I tried to explain that my return leg was cancel for some reason when I volunteered for the seat adjust on the outbound leg. She continued to ask me to book and make a new reservation. I asked for a supervisor and received no help. Decided the best course of action was to hang up and try to get someone else. After navigating the voice prompts again I finally got someone who asked me for proof I was on the outbound. I informed him no one saves the boarding passes he needs to check the manifest the TSA requires of all airlines. He backed off after he understood that I knew the system and reactivated my return leg. It is still a mystery to me why my return leg was canceled after the airline requested me to move seats. It seems Spirit have saved money on front line employee training and saved a good bit on off shore CSA call center. Last time I'll fly Spirit and I'm posting it everywhere I can. I'll see you on the internet. Spirit Airlines-HC6N2Q
Pros: Safe transportation at a great price.
Cons: The Spirit web site was not functioning properly when I tried to check-in for my flight and get boarding passes. I tried repeatedly to do this in the 24 hours prior to departure without success (and wasting a lot of time). Then later, while waiting in the long line at the airport to check my bags, the employees at the counter announced that their computers just went down. For 30 minutes increasingly agitated customers waited for the computers to function again so they could check their bags. This computer failure resulted in a late departure. For my return trip, again, IT competency at Spirit. Again their *&(^!&@! web site wouldn't work get me to the page to print my boarding pass.
Pros: Spirit claims to be the cheapest airline, but charges over $50 for carry on items. The day of my flight, the lines to check in were out the door at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport. The kiosks were all down & the employees were shouting at everyone to direct them. If a simple question was asked, the Spirit employees would snap & move on to the next person, without really helping. I was late to my flight because of wrong information that was given to me and I almost did not make it in time. Just like any other airline these days, no food is given for free. The seats are the bare minimum.
Pros: That I arrived to my destination in time and as scheduled.
Cons: There was no indication anywhere in the reservation process of the costs of bag checks and the "privilege" of a carry on. I was also never sent an email prompting me to check in online and check bags there. (I'm told it's rather cheap if you do it that way) Instead, I was greeted with a 49 dollar fee for my carry on, and 53 dollar fee for my checked bag. That was bumped up another 30 dollars when I discovered bags above 45 lbs are charged extra on spirit. I ended spending more than twice the value of my ticket just for bags, for markups I was never told of and could not of reasonably anticipated as a consumer. This, combined with less than professional conduct from spirit flight attendants, fellow passengers, and the ridiculously uncomfortable conditions on the plane, means I will never be flying with spirit again, and will trust kayak much less. As a comprehensive trip planning service, kayak should be able to generate plane travel costs, and have options to include associated costs such as baggage, with the price of the ticket in flight price tracking. This is a necessary feature for any company that provides a service like Kayak.
Pros: Nothing--there is literally nothing to like about this airline. They display a cheaper fare than other airlines and call it their "Bare Fare" but you better not pack more than a small backpack otherwise you end up paying double the ticket price in services charges and baggage fees!
Cons: Spirit's endless amounts of extra hidden costs and ridiculous baggage fees meant that I ended up paying just as much for my airfare as I did to 1) check my bags, 2) print my boarding pass and 3) pay for the hidden services charges to do all of the above at the gate (instead of predicting exactly how many luggage/carry-on items and their exact weight over five months in advance of my trip, when I initially purchased my ticket online). You'll have to purchase water on the plane if you get thirsty. I would not be the least bit surprised if Spirit started charging a fee to use the bathroom on the plane! AVOID THIS AIRLINE if you need to check a bag, or if your carry-on is larger than a small backpack and/or purse! Plus, the interior of their new fleet has decreased space between rows so you have less legroom than ever (I'm 5'5" and 125 lbs--I had no room to move). And the final straw for me: I paid a premium price for a flight that left AFTER 9:00 AM. Less than 48 hours before departure, Spirit changed our flight to 6:05 AM; a time I had specifically filtered out of my options when searching for a flight! And no, there was absolutely no refund or apologies for the inconvenience.
Cons: Liked every bit of it
Cons: Online check-in did not work, app check-in did not work, kiosk check-in did not work. Despite efforts to save money, I was forced to pay over $110 in additional fees. Service counter attendants were not friendly. I asked if I could fly standby on an earlier flight since I had gotten to the airport 4 hours early. I was told "This is not Southwest, you can't get on an earlier plane without paying $120 for it". Flight was changed to a new gate but wasn't updated on the monitor. I had to check flight aware to see what gate we were at. Flight attendants were rude and boasted about being the youngest flight crew in the sky, which is nothing to boast about. There are many veterans of the sky that exhibit amazing customer service and flight expertise. This Moto degrades those who have spent 20 + years in the sky making sure we are safe and comfortable. I would rather have a former fighter pilot with combat experience flying my plane. So spirit airlines, do I think you being young is an advantage over the other airlines, No. I care about customer service and safety. And I have yet to feel that from your airline. From the check-in counter to the flight attendants, the staff treats customers without respect and then charges you for it. I'm done.
Pros: I booked a flight to Colorado for a wedding. I'm poor, so every little bit helps. The cabin crews both times were cheerful and friendly.
Cons: I bought two checked bags (one for there, one for back). I didn't want to spend the money, but I was in the bridal party (thankfully able to use one of my old dresses), so I had to have the extra space. But at the airport I discovered that the bag I was bringing was instead able to be brought onboard as a free "personal item." The people at the counter assured me that I would get a refund. Well, no refund. I get a "credit" for free checked bags, which I have to use within the next two months or it expires! How can I possibly afford another ticket, do they think their low prices attract jet-setters? This is actually not a good thing for me, I really am poor (like, I had to give up lunch for a month in order to afford a checked bag, poor), and I am very unhappy about this. I will not fly Spirit again. I hope they enjoy my $60.
Pros: I disliked the entire experience.
Cons: I had a flight booked a month in advance and I drove 10 hours to drop off my children with their grandparents so my man & I could take a vacation to Los Angelas. When I got to the airport they informed me that "I" had made changes to my reservation so it was cancelled and they gave me a credit for $300 even though I paid $450 for our flights. When I asked why I couldn't get a refund instead of a credit the lady told me that it was apparently because I booked through a third party, which is not true. I'm a member of spirit and I booked straight through their website. She told me there's no one I can talk to and that she can not help me and gave me a number to call. So I'm stuck at the airport with no help. (Now keep in mind I've already paid for a hotel and a car in LA that I will not get a refund for) finally we decided we'd have to take a flight to the next destination or we could not go on vacation. So we ended up having to go to Vegas and pay for the difference on top of a hotel. This is a joke!
Pros: The crew was funny and even made jabs at the airline.
Cons: This is my 4th bad experience with Spirit (I'm a glutton for punishment). I've yet to have a flight that was on time...something is usually broken on the plane (very nice to hear before boarding...if you board at all). It may seem like a great idea to lock in a great rate for the initial flight, but after fee upon fee...it just turns into an uncomfortable flight next to Bob who is complaining the whole time about his FIRST experience. I keep thinking I'll give them another try, but unfortunately this was my last attempt. Catch ya on the other side, Spirit.
Cons: The flight was delayed nearly 5 hours due to mechanical problems. As an early morning flight, the mechanical issues were known in advance--the plane did not arrive as scheduled the night before--yet passengers were not notified until check in at the airport. We could have made other arrangements (or slept until a normal hour) if we had been promptly notified. The gate agents were not understanding, and no accommodation--such as complimentary soft drinks--was made for our inconvenience. I felt like Spirit wasted my day.
Pros: One-way flight to destination
Cons: RUDE RUDE RUDE workers "helping" customers as the nightmare of checking in and receiving boarding pass. Then was told I didn't have a seat for the flight until someone didn't show up, EVEN THOUGH I had purchased a seat the night before. Almost didn't get on the flight because of that. Then if your bag is over 40lbs you pay an additional $30 to check it in. I ALWAYS fly Southwest and tried this airlines for the first and LAST TIME. All workers are rude and obviously don't want to be there either. Spirit airlines I AM DONE WITH YOU.
Pros: I got on the flight eventually and made it home to Dallas.
Cons: The crew was extremely rude. My flight was delayed and I received many notifications notifying me of the time change. I arrived with plenty of time to get through security for the new time of the flight. When checking in however the crew told me that I had missed my flight. The plane had not left, the doors weren't closed, and the flight hadn't even boarded. I was devastated. They said I couldn't get a refund and there was no way they could let me board, I needed to arrive an hour early before the original time not the new time. Eventually I was able to speak with a manager after 4 other people arrived with the same issue trying to get on the flight, and I got on the plane. The ticket agent that I initially spoke to was incredibly rude though and had no compassion, nor did she even attempt to do anything to help me. Will not be flying spirit again.
Cons: Flew bwi to download and as we were landing the flight attendant announced flight connections and then she said "all of you going to New Orleans can't tell you want happened to your flight over the intercom". Then they said nothing else. About 20 of us went to the gate e18 for the flight and the gate sign said On Time and the plane was there however it was 1pm and boarding was supposed to start and no gate agents and no crew ever showed up. A nearby gate said they cancelled the flight. No emails or text from Spirit. So I had to rebook on American to New Orleans and run across tour terminal C for a 149pm flight. Will be asking for a refund and will never book Spirit again and may decide to use kayak less for flights and just use standard United or delta direct websites. Joe
Cons: After being told we were circling our destination due to weather, we were deferred to another airport. This was fine until we were told we'd get sent out on the next plane... Which was also told to the other plane that got deferred (spirit) . Two planes all pushing to get on one. We were then forced to leave the gate with the promise of buses awaiting us. After 4 hours waiting for buses (midnight) I had to spend my own money to rent a car and drive 4.5 hours to my original destination. No offer to be put up in a hotel was offered, nor was an offer to catch another flight. Instead we were told to pay and extra $100 to be placed on standby for the following nights flight to our final destination.
Pros: There wasn't anything I really liked about my trip on Spirit.
Cons: From the curbside to the gate you are on your own. No skycaps to take your bags at the curb even though you've already paid for bags. And even though you've already paid for bags you still have to stand in a long line at the counter to check in. This is my 3rd time flying with Spirit since 2011. I thought the first 2 trips having issues was a fluke but no, it seems fairly consistent that you will not leave on time, the staff will not be friendly and nothing is complimentary...even water! The seats are extremely small and there is no way to recline them. Some of their planes have advertisement pasted through the entire length of the cabin, the crew really pushed applying for their credit card, all snacks must be paid for I mean, the message is clear, profits first, customers are to be used to meet their goals. At the end of the day, customers are lured in by seemingly lower prices but it's all smoke and mirrors. When you're done with all of the a la cart items, the price is the same as all of the other airlines, with inferior service, in my opinion. I will not be flying with Spirit Airlines again. I will spend my money with airlines that value me as a customer first.
Cons: It was terrible. They didn't even announce the flight departure properly, so we (and several more people) missed the boarding. They rescheduled us to another flight but it disrupted our plans and caused a lot of inconvenience. Also, they charge for literally everything, I've never seen $42 fee for checked baggage, or even $55 or $100 if one doesn't make it to buy it online. Weight of 40 lbs. is woefully insufficient as travelers from Europe will have to remove over 10 pounds from their baggage as normal airlines allow 23 kg.
Cons: We prepaid luggage on-line and the check in at counter still took 30 minutes because employee at counter couldn't see proof on her end that we had pre paid. We traveled with our three kids under 8 and they would do nothing to seat us next to each other. We couldn't check in on-line so we were considered late check in, despite checking in at the airport 2 hours before the flight. We boarded and sat on the plane for an hour then deplaned due to faulty weather radar. 3 hour delay. Still no help to seat our family together. Very swaying and bumpy take off and landing. Seats don't recline. No drinks or snacks passed out, only for a charge. Cheapest airline ever. Will never fly again on Spirit. Flight home also delayed over an hour. Oh, and luggage max is 40, not 50 lbs., and they charge per bag per direction. They also charge you to book seats next to each other, despite us booking our flights months in advance and checking in 2 hours prior.
Pros: Cheap--but time is not worth that savings
Cons: Flight was hours and hours late, with multiple flights cancelled before all piled into this one. Worse, poor communication alerted us flight was late, then after we delayed leaving for airport accordingly a new message said flight was on time after all. On arrival at airport, flight was indeed late--but more than two hours later than originally stated. Poor relatives had to pick up my son at arrival airport at 1:00 in the morning. We will never, ever, fly your airline again, and will tell everyone how unhappy we were with trying to save a little money with you.
Cons: We were unable to board out flight. We arrived at the airport 50 minutes before our flight. We tried but were unable to print our boarding passes at home. When we got there we waited behind 2 couples before getting up to the attendant. When we got to the front they told us we were too late and could not take our flight. We were 44 minutes before our flight and they close their system at 45 minutes. We called customer service and they told us the supervisor could open the flight and let us on if we showed her that we tried to print our boarding passes and could not. We had a picture and showed her but she did not care. She was not letting us on our flight for anything. I don't know if she was on a power trip or what but I have NEVER experienced such poor customer service and unwillingness to help a customer in my life. They then told us they could book us on the next flight out, which was the next day. We went to American and flew American. They were super helpful and got us on a flight out 2 hours later. Thankfully for American we only missed the first night of our conference and not a full day, like Spirit would have had us miss. I will never fly spirit again after that experience.
Pros: In flight experience was good.
Cons: Didn't like that I have to print my boarding pass and that an eboarding pass doesnt work on the scanners. That was not communicated well to me. The gate changed 30 mins prior to the take off time of my flight and not a single passenger was informed of this. There were no announcements made. They did not even care to change the flight information display at the gate behind the counter. While passengers were waiting to board, a jet blue crew member starts to announce boarding for their flight to JFK while its displaying spirit airlines flight to dallas. The jet blue crew has no information to provide to us. A spirit airline crew memeber SHOULDVE MADE AN ANNOUNCEMENT reg the gate change at the original gate or they should remove the spirit airline flight display from the screen. And all this 20 mins prior to take off. And I was told to stand in line that was a mile long to have this simple question answered 'whats the current gate'. The crew could've been a bit more informative, less rude and more approachable.
Pros: Horrible. Filthy seats and plane. Was told "get off plane and fly with another airline if you don't like it" several times by attendant just for asking for something to clean seat and floor with myself. Then I was thrown off for objecting to such disrespect ful treatment. I will pay triple, double, quadruple to fly with another airline from now on. This airline and its employees are beyond rude and disrespectful. Do not go anywhere near this company. I was warned not to fly with them and I thought it could not be so bad. It was 100 times worse!!!
Pros: We landed safely. Drink serveice without a cart was interesting and must be easier for the company.
Cons: We didn't care for buying tickets and then getting charges for everything including choosing a seat. The web site was horrible and not mobile friendly. Customer service over the phone read from a script and couldn't really take care of anything for you. Also, Spirit expects you to have access to a computer and printer on your vacation. It "saves you money" to do it online. Yes, most hotels have access to those...assuming you're staying in one. Why can't I just check in on my phone and handle everything else at the airport like I just did on Alaska for my return flight? Why do your flight attendants tell us twice to keep our seats upright when they don't even recline? And, they spent most of flight playing games on their phones/tablets. Cup o noodle!? Really!? Flight industry is tough, I know, and you guys are the bare minimum. Head in expecting a nightmare flight and its not so bad.
Pros: Plane was clean and the crew was friendly and professional. Spirit refunded part of my ticket when my connecting flight was cancelled.
Cons: After flying Spirit Airlines for the first time, I came to realize a cheap flight doesn't save you money in the long run. Flight delays, cancellations, and added costs meant I didn't save any money flying with Spirit. I booked a flight from Cleveland to Denver with a lay over in Dallas. My lay over in Dallas was canceled due to weather. I understand that the airline doesn't have any control over the weather but they can control how they treat their customers. The best Spirit could do was offer me a flight to my final destination 21/2 days later. Meaning I would be stuck in Dallas for 2 days and I would have to pay for a hotel out of pocket. I ended up paying for a hotel overnight ($171) and booking a flight first thing in the morning with Frontier airlines ($89). Coming back, once again there was problems in Dallas during my lay over. The flight was delayed 3 hours.
Cons: The flight was delayed then cancelled. We were given the choice of refund that will arrive a week later or to take a flight a 9 pm tomorrow. The reason for the cancellation was said to me a crew "time-out" that was caused by the rain. There was no other compensation for the cancellation nor did they get ahold of everyone to let them know it was cancelled. After dealing with the gate I found the customer service desk and waited for 2 hours just to talk to someone and was told nothing they could do.
Pros: I liked that the plane was structurally sound and well built and that the pilots knew what they were doing - it went up, flew and landed! SUCCESS!!
Cons: I remember when SOUTHWEST came onto the scene, people said "It's a cattle call airlines". Well, there's a new leader in budget flying - seats don't recline, if you are over 6'2" your femur will barely fit in the seat space between rows, $3 for anything to drink, and because it is cheap (least expensive) it has all the personalities/characters 'least expensive' will attract. . . and heck, I was one of them! People are great, but when we are crammed into spaces, our egos and inner-judges get all ramped up, and there were plenty of these moments. Nice, friendly airline crew, from front counter to attendants, which also comes with the lack of experience and polish of veteran airline employees. In the future I will ony fly Spirit when I am country hopping and need the least expensive series of flights to get from point A to point B to Point C, and SPIRIT was a leg in that journey. Fly safe and kind everyone! CT
Cons: My flight was cancelled while I was on the shuttle on the way to the airport so that was not very convenient for me.
Pros: Once I actually took a Spirit Flight my experience was fine.
Cons: I missed my initial flight due to traffic & was only 10 minutes past boarding time. The Reps at the counter were helpful and called multiple times to the gate to see if they would let me board, but they would not. The counter did fail to inform me by not making the going flight that my return flight is automatically cancelled. Missing that information, I then booked a one way flight thru another airline b/c Spirit did not have an available flight for that day. I continued to get normal check in emails for my return flight only to find out once I got to the airport to get my boarding pass that return flight had been cancelled. I was told by the counter rep that I needed to check the online agreement. At least a courtesy email would have be nice. So I ended up having to book another one way flight to return, this time trough Spirit, but it was 4 hours later. I also did not get credit on my original flight paying for checked baggage for the return trip even though I paid $40 going and $40 returning. Needless to say, I completely wasted money booking my original flights since I had to book two other flights to go and return.
Cons: The airline continued to delay the evening flight all day. I called and asked if the airline could accommodate me on another flight to get me to my destination but said they couldn't. They only offered to refund my money and offered it very quickly as if this happens often. After delaying the flight all the way until midnight I arrived at the airport to check in and once again see if spirit could move me to a different flight or airline. The lady at the counter laughed at me and proceeded to tell me no. The flight ended up getting canceled and the next flight I could be moved to was over 24 hours later. Needless to say I ended up taking my money back and will not be using the gracious $50 credit the airline offered me. After checking the other flight that left later the weekend it was plagued with massive delays also. Not sure how this airline stays in business.
