Cons: "On my return flight home, they wouldn't accommodate adjusting my itinerary because I wasn't feeling well. I was willing to pay change fee for 1 layover instead of the 2 layovers on my original itinerary. They wanted to charge me $700 which was greater than my original ticket. So I flew on the original itinerary at started my travels @ 7am on Monday. Flight from Bogotá to Barranquilla w/Avianca airlines was great. In Barranquilla I had a 4 hr layover, checked in w/Copa agent and he said my bag was on plane. In Panama, there was a 1.5 hr layover so I assumed no issues getting my luggage to the correct connection. The flight from Panama was delayed by 40 mins w/no explanation. We just sat on plane. They only played one older movie, plane was old and they did 1 beverage service w/meal for a 5.5 hour flight. I finally arrived back to ORD @ 12:15 am Tuesday. I waited for my luggage in baggage claim for 35 mins. It doesn't arrive and I ask attendant, who brushes me off and says this is the claim for Copa. She disappears for 30-40 mins. I finally see her walking back into international baggage claim (over an hour has passed that I've been in baggage claim) and tell her my luggage did not arrive. She asks me for my claim ticket then proceeds to say "oh yes, I was informed your bag did not make it." I'm upset because it's 1:40am and she could have saved me an hour if she would have helped me when I first asked. I also am curious how an airline loses my bag twice."

Cons: "I was frustrated by the lack of communication. There was no announcement that the there was even a delay until AFTER the boarding time had passed. I was extremely confused and when the announcement was finally made, it was in Spanish only. Then the flight was cancelled (which is understandable and totally happens) but no one assisted me with rebooking or informed me what was going on. I was traveling alone and it was a very frustrating experience. Overall I was at the airport from 11pm to 4am the NEXT day. We were offered accommodation but not until 11am (our flight was supposed to be at 5am) and then we were shuttled back to the airport at 12 midnight for a 4:40am flight. Then my layover in Panama City was extended by 4 hours. Overall, my travel time was nearly 56 hours."

Cons: "I will start off by saying that I usually LOVE Copa Airlines and have a wonderful experience. This flight had too many things go wrong for me to ignore. 1) The check in line up took exceptionally long even though there were many staff at the booth. 2) As people were boarding, one of the staff was handing out headphones as people were still attempting to navigate to their seat. The timing seemed very inappropriate and even in the way for new passengers. 3) My boyfriends carry on bag is larger than a small backpack, but smaller than a standard carry on bag. As he was boarding, he went to put his bag in the overhead compartment. My boyfriend is well over 6 feet and the Copa staff was insisting we put the bag at my boyfriends feet as his bag was not as large as others. We pay the same as the other passengers and deserve comfort too! Especially for my tall boyfriend who even in the largest of seats has a difficult time on planes. 4) The plane did not have individual entertainment units, which does not help on a 6+ hour flight. 5) I was VERY cold and asked for blanket on various occasions, and even offered to pay for one, but there was not on board, even though, as I exited I saw unopened ones in first class."

Even thought we still had an hour before flight was scheduled to fly they claimed that we would not have enough time to check in bags before the departure. They then proceeded to acknowledge that it was customs fault but they can’t do anything about it. The rest of my party made it to the plane with plenty of time but my husband, 2 year old, 9 month old and I were left stranded in Tijuana, Mexico. The airline didn’t even offer a credit towards another flight, they we offering a new flight two hours later for $2,800 US. Then suggested to maybe arrive earlier next time, even though we arrived 3.5 hours before our domestic Mexico flight! Then when my party arrived at the destination they ask and complained about the incident and found out, the internal note said “ missed flight due to client refusing to pay luggage fees”! Horrible!!!!! What’s worse was that we had to spend the night the airport because they shut down shuttle/car rentals services. Aeromexico worst “company policy”and liars! Tijuana international airport is a joke! Don’t waste your time and money!"

I have never experienced such a ridiculous situation. What is worse, the airline was completely obsolete in helping me resolve the issue."

Cons: "It was awful. My original flight was scheduled to depart March 30 at 11:55. Then Aeromexico changed it to 1:35am in March 31. They refused to let me change flights when this happened. I wanted to fly standby on an earlier flight, so I called everyday for 2 weeks to confirm how many seats were left. Everyone I talked to told me I could fly standby if it was he same day as my ticket. I got to the airport and the flight attendant at check in told me “standby doesn’t exist.” When I asked how much it would be to change my ticket, she just said “very expensive.” She told me she’d have to check me out of my current flight and risk me losing my seat on that flight, because it was overbooked just to see the price for the earlier flight. I told her I’d be willing to pay up to $200 to switch to the earlier flight and she told me it was very expensive and she wouldn’t do it. I came back later that night and took my scheduled flight. I carried on my bag from SFO to MEX. On my second flight from MEX to BOG, the attendant told an older woman she had to check her bag because the overhead was going to be too full. I volunteered to check my bag instead so she could keep her bag. Then Aeromexico lost my bag. When I got to BOG, they told me I couldn’t have a voucher because it was my fault for bringing a bag that was too big. Finally they gave me $100 because the next day was Easter and I had no clothes for church. I wasted over 2 hours of my vacation at the Bogota airport while Aeromexico searched for my bag. They said they’d call as soon as they found it. No one ever called. I called and they asked “what color is your bag?” I said “red” and the attendant said they had it. It was delivered several hours after this call despite the fact that the airport is less than 20 minutes from where we are staying. I didn’t think an airline could be worse han United, but Aeromexico steals the cake."
Cons: "When i got to the airport they said i had the wrong passport so I couldn't go and i can't get a refund!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know that my card passport wasnt allowed I wouldn't have booked the trip. I'm very very upset. I took my vacation from work and didn't go on my vacation."

This in turn causes no breakfast or lunch or dinner opportunities. I travel with snacks in my bag at all times now just in case so I won’t get sick for lack of nourishment or water! This last flight I missed my connection altogether and had to take a shuttle home, then catch a ride back to the airport to pick up my luggage and then get my car to drive home. It was 4 hours past my expected time home."

One of the kiosks was down and the line to self-check was long and moved very slowly because there was only one agent behind the self-check baggage drop. She did well keeping up but there was a long line of unhappy customers due to the long wait. No snack was offered but I did get a glass of water. Not enough overhead storage for the carry-on bags because passengers get the luggage check tag but brought the carry-on onboard anyway."

I should not almost miss the flight so the staff can get off the plane to stretch their legs or get a coffee."

They canceled my return flight last minute, and scheduled a new one over 24 hours later. Thus causing me to have to book a hotel last minute, as well as now being AWOL, since my Leave paperwork only lasted until my return date. Had to explain to the chief why I won't be at formation. I'm saving myself the trouble and never flying united again, even if I have to spend more money. United isn't even reimbursing me for the hotel. They basically told me to go f**k myself and file a complaint. They can eat a d**k."

Outside of being foreign most of the United employees seem like complete morons. Also there was that same bag in front of me. So my legroom was restricted."

On top of that, due to cancellation had to stay in hotel without my luggage and my pills that I have to take daily. Worst experience ever!! I need compensation for all this mess!!!!"

Cons: "The flight was over one hour late in leaving and while I appreciate that is beyond the control of the flight crew, one steward was quite rude as we were quickly trying to board as she prioritized serving the first class cabin rather than get us all on the plane. At the very least she could have used commonly acceptable language such as "please, thank you and excuse me" but rather chose to use "wait". As some of us where desperate to make a tight connection in SF, focusing on getting people on board and the plane off the ground should have been the crew focus."

Every flight was over sold and they were unable to get me on any flights until Tuesday... My original flight was Sunday morning. I was among 26 others on this standby list. United customer service told me to wait at the airport until my flight because they wouldn't be able to help me with a hotel. Less than satisfied and annoyed that I have to miss two days of work on top of having to stay in San Francisco for two nights."

Cons: "First, they charged 50$ (!!!) for each check in bag while most airlines charge 25$. That is double! And for a domestic flight!! To top that, no one at the check in counter had told us that skateboards are not allowed on board (even though they saw us with it). We arrived at the gate, about to board the flight and a second before getting on the plane, we were told that we could not go on with the skate board. All this is while we see people take in strollers that are far bigger than a simple board with wheels. They claimed that it's a "weapon". It is as much a weapon as a stroller. They made us pay additional 65$ (!!!) just to throw it inthe bells with no wrapping or bag, and to sign a liability release so if it will break we wouldn't be able to sue. We felt completely ripped off! The only other option according to them was to pack it and board the next flight (of course this was a non- refundable flight). To top everything off- the airplane was old, they sold one seat to oversized people in a way that it was impossible to have your iwnspace and they didn't even serve water in a 3.5 hiur flight. It was a horrible experience and we wouldn't recommend spirit airlines to anyone ever. We ended up paying an extra 165$!!!"

Surely the airline could stock a few gallons of water for dehydrated passengers? The cost of my two bags would have covered bottled water for everyone on the flight."

I understand the concept of not paying for extra accommodations unless they are desired (I even sprang for the opportunity to pick a window seat) but it really feels like Spirit Airlines is trying to give me as little for my dollar as possible with the uncomfortable seats and lack of in flight entertainment. The only thing that's good about this airline is the pricing."

Knowing this would take more time, I arrived 30 minutes earlier to discuss the matter. It wasn't an easy fix. As a result, I arrived at McCarren Airport to check my bag at 10:55 p.m. for an 11:30 p.m. flight. I was told I was to late and would have to take the next flight to Detroit, which wasn't until 8:15 a.m. I pleaded and offered to take my luggage to the plane and carry it to the baggage workers, but it was to no avail. I was booked for the 8:15 a.m. flight to Detroit. I was very disappointed to be informed that it would cost me $99.00 to make the change."

Don't get tricked by the low air fair, the extras will equal to more than any other flight you would've taken. $34 for checking in a bag, $32 for carry on. $5 for a soft drink on the plane. The customer service is also horrible all employees are extremely rude and don't care about you. I will never fly with them again and I suggest you shouldn't either."
Pros: "Creating my own itinerary through a 3rd-party (Kayak) online reservation agent, I was unaware of the $52 add-on baggage fee. And when I tried to use the electronic kiosk to check in, it was not functioning properly. Although it not just Spirit Airlines, but I feel as though these additional fees aren't spelled out to the consumer well enough and therefore are somewhat disingenuous in their relationships with their customers."
