Benin has reopened Cotonou Cadjehoun International Airport for commercial flights. Entry visas are restricted. Entry and exit at border crossings is limited to "extreme necessity" and authorized in liaison with bordering countries.
The land border with Togo is closed.
Travelers must register at the appointment website to schedule a test and pay the testing fee.
Travelers are subject to a mandatory 2 COVID-19 testing, a TDR rapid test and a PCR test upon arrival at the Cotonou Cadjehoun Airport. The fee for testing is 50,000 CFA each direction and includes all arrival three tests. Tests for travelers under 5 years old are at no charge. Arriving airlines may require proof of registration or proof of ability to pay prior to boarding.
Travelers will be required to leave their passports with the Immigration Police for 72 hours until the first results are received. Those who test positive for COVID-19 will be subject to government-mandated isolation measures and will receive treatment free of charge.
All travelers entering Benin must self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival.
All travelers who stay in Benin longer than 15 days must undergo a third COVID-19 test. The test can be performed at the Palais des congrès in Cotonou or at routine screening sites throughout the country.

Champagne never arrived, even after I asked for it again. My half-full glass of water was taken away halfway through dinner with no explanation and never replaced. I asked for water five times before I was finally brought a bottle of water over 30 minutes later when they were being passed around to everyone. Meanwhile, the two flight attendants I asked for water walked by several times picking up trash... not sure what was so difficult about bringing me a glass of water."

Fortunately I was second in the ticket office line and was promptly rebooked with Lufthansa. My return flight was cancelled because of the coup, and again I was rebooked with Lufthansa."
Cons: "Overall Turkish Airlines did well in a difficult situation. But a few concerns. On my inbound flight, the agent servicing us was amazing and I was fortunate to be second in line, but the airline was ill prepared for the situation and the agent was being hung out to dry by his colleagues who kept calling him and wouldn't let him do his job. On the return flight, I was frustrated the agents at first pushed me to take a refund rather than letting me rebook with a partner. I ended up having to leave a day later than expected, and didn't get an itinerary till the morning after my original flight. This was all very stressful. Lastly, you have to think twice about flying through Turkey. Although this coup is over, the next crisis will be over whether President Erdogan creeping authoritarianism."

It’s always so dry on planes and I would have liked to be able to get more than one tiny glass of water at a time. Also, would have loved a window at my window seat. Plus no WIFI!?"

Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

The meals were by far the most enjoyable of my airplane travel meals; and I learned that KLM does not charge for it's drinks on international flights, unlike most other international airlines that I traveled with this summer. In a sentence, flying with KLM was a very pleasant experience and I will recommend this airlines to others."

In flight entertainment was nicely done with a personal touch screen headrest TV that had ample TV and movies to choose from. We landed slightly ahead of schedule and by the time I got to baggage claim, my oversized bag (snowboard bag) was already waiting for me."

It was not worth it. Especially considering I tried to call Air Canada for some of my refund and the number they gave me was a fax line."
