Security has gotten quite uptight at Kigali airport. They now stop your cab a couple hundred meters short of the airport, and have a dog check the vehicle. You have to pass through another security checkpoint at the entry to the airport building, and a third security into the boarding area. The final security check even takes away any empty bottles you have. And don't take any fingernail scissors in your handcarry, even if they have blunt points. You may have an hour or more wait in preboarding, and without water or bathroom excess. So takke care of these needs in advance."

However if the passenger in front of you reclines their seats, you absolutely are forced to recline yours immediately, otherwise no one will fit. Flight attendants have to ask passengers to put the seats back from reclining during meal service so people can open the food tray and are able to access it, that is how much the seats tilt."

When I told them they should remedy somehow their mistake, they said they did not have any other extra seat in business and that there was nothing they could do. They did not apologize. They were quite unprofessional and rude. I fly often and I have never experienced something so unprofessional and rude. Alitalia is far better than Swissair in terms of professionalism and of politeness. I will always discourage anyone from flying Swissair. Worst company ever."

Perhaps it would be better to mix younger, less experienced staff with more seasoned staff. I flew three other Swiss flights during my European vacation and the service was much faster. Incidentally, most of the staff on these other flights were older and probably more experienced."
Cons: "There is little that can be done to make a long haul flight comfortable when a baby is screaming and crying for it's entire duration. Its behaviour cannot be helped. But it certainly didn't make the flight comfortable, nor did the young child kicking incessantly at the back of my and my daughter's seats. This could have occurred on any flight, but it didn't contribute to having a positive experience on this one. The flight attendant serving breakfast completely ignored that fact that I was awake and strolled past without asking if I would like anything as meals were being served. I informed another flight attendant that we hadn't been offered breakfast and she was able to provide us with meals. Besides this the cabin crew were courteous and pleasant. I've flown with Swiss on other occasions and have had better experiences. I'd like to think this was just a one off and not representative of the level of service that Swiss normally provides."

I was unable to reach Swiss phone reps due to limited hours of service. I did Post on the Swiss Face Book site as per Swiss air website instructions. I also emailed social support help- I received no reply. gate agents were helpful with the first leg, but had no ability to help with the second - sent me to Geneva hopeful I could be helped there."

According to IATA and international rules I am now due a full refund on my flight cost and will start proceedings against Turkish Airlines for this money. It was a nightmare for all the hours waiting. We also had to deplane in IST from the JFK flight on steps rather than into a gate!! Same with the TLV/IST flight. Terrible."

It was freezing cold and they did not have extra blankets. It felt like my section kept getting skipped over for everything (food, liquids, general checking in to make sure people were okay). We boarded late, and left late. When I arrived the luggage took VERY long - almost an hour - to come out."

The staff was courteous and friendly and even let me keep my can of tomato juice. Cons: "As our first flight got delayed, me and 28 other pallengers flying to israel told the airline agents that we would miss our connection flightfrom turkey to israel. The supervisor assured us that we have nothing to worry about, as the second plane would wait as we are many passengers.however when we landed in turkey the connection flight had already left without us. When trying to speak to turkish airline representatives about getting a new flight, they were super UNhelpful, we waited in very long lines and were required so go to a few different parts of the airport to get a new ticket, a process that was not friendly at all and very frustrating. After about 2 hours of waiting on lines, i got a flight that required me to wait 7 hours in the airport and measley voucher for a very small fast food meal. When i asked to be admitted to the lounge (as i waited 7 hours in the airport due to the airlines mistake), they did not agree to grant me access. When i asked to at least get the wifi code from the lounge so i can tell my familly that i am stuck on turkey, this was also rejected. While waiting in the airport, i spoke to many other people on other flights who had been stuck in the airport under very simillar circumstances, some even worse than mine. I also have many friends who have experiences simillar experiences with turkish airlines. If you are looking for a reliable flight, that will get you to your destination on time and will help you out when a problem occurs, Turkish airlines is deffinetelly NOT the flight for you. I personally will never fly with them again after the way i was treated."

I'm a very medium sized build and really short (5' 6") and I was so uncomfortable I wanted to (and probably will) cancel my return flight with them. My wife's back is still hurting from that flight. The staff are just plain awful save for 2 flight attendants. Out of 2 flights so far. I was told afterwards that this is commonplace when flying Turkish Airlines. For fairness sake I should mention that both Egypt Air and Saudi Airlines were worse. Whatever money you think you're saving by flying this atrocity you're gonna be spending on fixing your neck and back. Spend the extra and go with Swiss or even Delta. Avoid this rubbish"

Pros: "I really enjoyed this flight. The seats were comfortable and clean. They passed out headphones and travel kits, including sleeping masks, earplugs, and toothbrushes. Each seat had its own screen with 200 movies and probably just as many albums. They started the flight off with warm towels, then Turkish delight, before having dinner, a middle set of drinks, and then breakfast. I felt like I was almost in business. Plus the crew were very friendly and accommodating. The boarding was smooth though a bit delayed but that was probably more dependent on the airport than the airline."

The incoming flight was two hours late, so the departure was late. Our arrival in Paris was late. We made the flight, but our luggage didn't. Our return flight from Paris to Dulles was half an hour late because of people from connecting flights. We arrived about 30 minutes late, but no big deal (unless you had a connection)"

My pregnant wife and I made it to the gate 4 minutes before the scheduled departure and they told us the plane was already gone and there was no way for us to get on the plane. Our bags did make it to Sioux Falls, so my wife didn't have her prenatal vitamins, , we had no clean clothes and we were forced to spend the night in Atlanta. The saddest part of yet another terrible experience with Delta was that they offered us a "discounted" room at a terrible Howard Johnson for $72. I looked online and the same hotel was $65 to book on Kayak. So basically Delta was trying to scam us after they screwed us. Thanks Delta! Instead we paid $200+ to stay at an airport hotel. Every time I fly Delta I regret it, yet occasionally I get forced to take their awful airline to get somewhere I need to go. It never fails to add another bad Delta experience to my long list of failings from this SAD!!! airline."

They were all full and i had no time to find one since I was waiting there for 3 hours with no informational. I slept on the floor and delta didnt even offer us a blanket. The difference between Delta and all other domestic carriers is just overwhelming. United and American/US Air could learn a lot from Delta. I could have flown this trip direct on United, but chose to fly through Atlanta on Delta for less money and a better experience from the baggage check to the gate to the in-flight experience."

The flight that you gave us, JQ7 from Melbourne did not exist. Therefore we had to stay in Melbourne for another 24 hours and find another new route and flights to return to Heathrow. All a strain and stress. Your service to us for the return journey useless. So far, I have not found that you have corrected any of your failings and therefore it could also happen again to others tomorrow, next week, or next month. The return journey was a total disaster.
