Seats were comfortable ... enough. Boarding process, once underway allowed me to get overhead bin and stash my other luggage in the seat below me. Flight wasn't overly booked (85-95%) so there appeared to be room for others to stretch out. Now about that crying kid...

Ugh. Weather delays. The flight was scheduled to board about 7P but it arrived late and they had to not only unload the self-loading cargo, but clean up afterwards. Would be nice to get a better estimate as to how long it would take to board so that I could hang out in the lounge. In addition, departure from JFK was delayed as well, either we missed the IFR window or got stuck behind some traffic and I fell asleep on the plane only to wake up what seemed an hour later just getting ready to hit V1. No upgrade.

The colors of the lights

Virgin has its own terminal in JFK (7), so they must have some amount of control over how things run. From the moment we got there, there was nothing but difficulty. Enormously long line (45 min wait). I booked my flight together with my boyfriend and we selected seats next to each other during booking. When we went to check in, they reassigned us to two middle seats. 6.5 hour flight. Then they make you pay for every detail, like WiFi, headsets, no small snacks, only 1 drink for the entire flight, etc. Any one of those things you’d probably have to pay for on other airlines, but together seemed over the top. We then landed and instead of heading to a gate, we sat on the runway for another 20 min. Again, no one of these things is out of the norm, but together made for a pretty miserable trip. Would have been significantly better if they just honored our original seating when we booked.

Ease of boarding, entertainment offerings were better than average

Crew-seemed bored and distracted during boarding. On a 6 hour flight they made 1 quick pass through the cabin near beginning of flight and that was it. Way under the standard of at least frequent passing through the cabin and at least another water service. Pretty much the same level on trip to NYC as on this return to SFO. Not what we are used to with Alaska.

The boarding went quickly and was well organized

That the price to take a small carryon was just as expensive as taking a large suitcase, ended up having to pay and extra $80 r/t for a small bag and I just that's standard for them. There were no barf bags in any seats, believe me everyone around us was looking as the person next to me was getting sick on the landing because it was crazy rough. When we finally were able to get an attendant over she was as rude as could be, I'm sure this sick person next to me was sorry she "inconvenienced" the crew member, if they just put bags in the seats pockets like every other airline this wouldn't have been an issue. The seats were very uncomfortable with no padding and not able to tilt. The tray tables were nonfunctional, too small and did not extend to get anywhere close enough to reach you. The plane ride itself felt like we were on a old school bus on a gravel road. I had a round trip ticket with frontier and both trips were equally as bad. I will never travel with them again, Most of us weren't even sure if we were going to survive take off with out the plan breaking or something.

I like everything except boarding groups.

Boarding groups are an issue every single time for me. I check in 24 hours in advance always. I am an elevator member. I ha e sat in at least 10 different rows all over the plane front to back. But somehow I am always boarding group B and it seems like 100 people are boarding group A. I have asked many times and the staff assured me it’s based on where you’re sitting but clearly that’s just not true. I would like an explanation as to how you choose boarding group A. (I.e. I would like to know the exact rows I need to book to get boarding group A. I am sick of having to board in the middle of the pack or last when I am Incredibly punctual and efficient with my bookings and timing.

I’m a loyal VA customer and am sad that they were forced to sell. The employees have excellent service attitude and are efficient and seem to actually like their jobs which usually translates to a better customer experience.

That they are now part of Alaska Airline. I hope they can keep all the special little things and characteristics that made Virgin stand out above the rest.

When our flight was delayed in Denver the agent at the check in gate worked very hard to get our flight plans changed with as little impact as possible.

We understand that delays happen but due to a delay on American Airlines we have lost our luggage and it doesn't seem likely it will be returned. We had five pieces of luggage lost during our flight from the U.S. to Spain. When we arrived in Madrid we were told that all five pieces had been located. When we went to pick them up the next day there were only four pieces at the airport. We were told the fifth suitcase would be delivered when it was located. It's ten days later and there's no sign of the luggage. It has taken multiple phone calls to get the information about the luggage correct. They assure me that they have everything correctly documented and then when I call back they haven't changed a thing. It has been a very frustrating process overall.

First flight was delayed causing us to miss the 2nd flight and we ended sleeping on a chair at the airport waiting for a morning flight. AMERICAN AIRLINES didn't even have the decency to put us in a hotel for the night due to their delay. Then they added a 2nd lay over which was delayed for hours also. Traveling was to visit my mother who had cancer and I was sick so this made the trip even more distasteful.

I didn't like anything about this flight. Only benefit of the doubt is the 2 hour delay as a runway in SF had shut down.

We had seats at first where there was what looked like bubble gum bits stuck on one of the food trays. The flight was clearly not cleaned although it landed 2+ hours before the departure. We had to ask for a wet tissue and clean it up. That was of no use too as it wouldn't scrub off. My wife was feeling under the weather and so we asked for a blanket. The blanket was hardly a blanket and more like a towel. We then luckily could switch seats as there were 2 vacant. But, the air conditioner was leaking water in the seat to our left. The crew was callous and just stuck the passenger with some napkins saying it does that. I don't fly Delta a lot and my experience in this trip isn't inspiring much confidence.

Ensure wifi works for in flight entertainment when you have to use your own device. 6 hr flight and complimentary in flight entertainment wifi worked for about an hour. I then paid for an hour of wifi for almost $18 and it was super slow then stopped working.

— A couple who had two middle seats apart disrupted our whole boarding by trying to persuade everyone around us to give up an aisle or window seat so they could sit together. I felt pressured to give in which made me mad. I wondered if they paid for Basic Economy and then still got their way on seats. — WiFi is just crazy expensive at $32. Even as a business traveler I felt guilty buying it. I wish I had seen pricing before the flight and/or understood if I could’ve gotten a discount for purchasing in advance. — Didn’t hav the snack I wanted...it’s a long 6 hour flight — I wish there were more food options.
