Cons: "The real reason for the negative review is a combination of the cost of this flight, loss of my baggage and poor service after the flight. I paid nearly $4,500 for an economy ticket from New York to New Delhi. The first leg of the flight, from New York to Zurich was delayed long enough that I made my connecting flight to Delhi within seconds of them closing the gate and as a result my baggage was lost. Once I got to Delhi I had to take a connecting flight to Goa and then drive an hour to my destination, where I was attending a good friend's wedding. All of my baggage was lost during transit by the airline, and unfortunately they never delivered by baggage to my hotel...so I was without formal clothes and normal clothes for the wedding for 4 days. The customer service line was no help, and the airline refused to deliver the baggage to me...the closest they would bring it was the Goa airport which was an hour and a half away."

I was telling a friend today, Swiss Air started with drinks, gave us a Parisian baguette sandwich, gave us a healthy breakfast of yoghurt warm croissant butter jam orange juice, drinks again, and several passengers surrounding me got special attention, one woman with a baby, a disabled person, and a teenager that was 6'5" was relaocated by the flight attendant without him even asking to a bulkhead seat for more comfort. You don't see this kind a attention to detail on any US flights or US airlines, so I noticed it. It was as if I was traveling back in the 70's or 80's when Airlines would compete for our dollars with their service. I mentioned to my friend that if I had a choice and Swiss Air was one of the choices, I'd choose Swiss Air over any other airline."

Zurich airport has no charging sockets! (Ancient) All of terminal A has not a single one! No one supervised the loading passengers not to interfere with those passing by. It was a complete mess. We took off 50 minutes late from Zurich, with no apparent reason. Worst in years for me. We sat in the plane for 30 minutes and were not offered even water. Big fail! (btw, I am unusually so critical)."

Pros: "The flight attendant told me I had to keep my seat upright throughout dinner so the person behind me could eat. I wanted to sleep and couldn't do so without reclining. The seats are tight but I was in the economy plus section so I thought she should have let me recline instead of physically moving my seat upright. And for someone who cared so much about the seat at dinner no one cared about me the rest of the flight. I slept through breakfast and no one left me a tray even. Plus, I had my seat back the rest of the flight including landing which I didn't realize. Isn't it their job to ensure our seats are in upright positions in case we forget or don't realize? Just a very blasé crew."

Cons: "On my return journey I was told at check in that there were delays that would mean missing my onward journey from Zurich. I was then rerouted through Istanbul with the promise that I would be well compensated for my troubles. I was told that I would receive a certain amount for every hour I was delayed from my original arrival at end destination. Well I arrived 8 or more hours after I had originally expected (and the reason I booked with Swiss Air was because of the timing and the apparent luxury of the flight). Once I got back home and tried to pursue this amazing compensation I received some of the worst customer service ever and received 0 compensation for the experience. Very disappointed and will never fly swiss airlines again."

For example: The crew seemed tentative and untrained. Saw the crew once between the meal at beginning and the meal at the end. I wonder where they can hide for so long on a small plane? Too many announcements by the Captain -- shut up and fly the damn plane! Do you think the crew might replenish the toilet paper on an 8 hour flight? on another note: Seat spacing is adjustable - very close seats Overall--- underwhelmed"

I don't remember the last time that a trans-Atlantic flight had at least a meant, or fish, or vegetarian dish. Usually, at least two or three dishes. On SAS, everything has to be ordered ahead of time. Some of the flight attendants were friendly, some not so friendly. No free alcoholic drinks even with dinner. Limited regular drinks - they are only served with food, aside from that you have to purchase even the non-alcoholic drinks. The food just wasn't very good, even compared to other airline food. Compared to other companies, relatively small selection of entertainment. I had considerably more choice on a domestic flight than on a 9 hr. international SAS flight. Storage pockets at the seat are pretty small."

I needed wheelchair assistance and found that every was very attentive to my needs and very competent, especially the ones assigned to get me from place to place. Even in Rome, where we had to deplane on the tarmac, I had a young woman and a young man to assist me and they helped me in every way possible."

Cons: "I wasn't able to take this flight due to my first leg being cancelled. However, I did end up being placed on the SAS flight to Stockholm from Chicago, which was an overall nice flight. The only thing I didn't like was the timing of the flight. Because my starting point was from somewhere other than Chicago, this made for a very long and tiring trip. I wouldn't recommend this flight for people flying from places other than Chicago."

I tried to reach IcelandAir to do this as I needed proof of cancelled flights so I could submit to my trip cancellation insurance to get ticket price refunded. I tried contacting IcelandAir for well over 3 weeks, calling (sometimes on hold for hours before finally being cut off), numerous emails (that went unanswered), messaging on FB, I even opened a Twitter account to try to reach them through there- NOTHING! The flight was supposed to be taken last night- I received a FB message this MORNING apologizing for the delay, and informing me I needed to contact another party- I'm beyond blown away at the lack of professionalism and inability to answer a simple request, which was to cancel my flights BEFORE they were scheduled to depart."

For that hour, the airport positioned another jet with its engines firing into our air intake, so we spent the whole time coughing in fuel fumes. The crew had forgotten to put blankets out for about 1/3 of the plane on the overnight flight and didn't have enough to go around when the mistake was pointed out to them. Also, the check-in kiosks and web check-in were both faulty, so the desk assistants were overworked. Overall, the service was well intentioned, but inept. Not worth the cheaper ticket price."

By the time the plane lands a few minutes late, then you actually get off the plane, you still need to take a shuttle bus to the terminal, where you wait in line for Customs/Immigration. I took a few minutes to use the bathroom and buy something to eat, then arrived at my gate to find they were on the final boarding call. Since the entire flight was full of promo videos for Iceland, it would have been nice to have at least a few minutes to look around the airport, and maybe even shop a little."

Cons: "I recently was scheduled to fly out of Newark, NJ on Friday 10/20 but unfortunately there was an issue with my documentation. The airline support staff mistakenly tagged me as a no show however, I had been in contact with both the 3rd party vendor and the airline explaining my situation. I watched my 3 friends board a plan with no idea if I would get to go to Iceland, it was the weekend and no embassy was open to address what may have happened with my documentation. No one could tell me if I would be able to get on another flight and join my friends nor if I would be refunded, I was simply put on a no show list and bounced between several customer support representatives. I am very upset that the situation occurred"

Also, no complimentary food was given on a flight that long."

Were told wrong info by an attendant that we had to go thru customs in Stockholm. Were not told by Denver check in staff in Denver that we had to pick up our one checked bag in Stockholm, and rechecking it before getting on the SAS flight to Gothenburg, so the bag got left in Stockholm.."

Cons: "No seats in terminal and no direction as to where to go. Construction made it confusing (random locked doors to main walkways) and the terminal stank. No order for boarding. We were bussed to doors at front and rear of aircraft so passengers were attempting to pass each other in the plane aisle whilst looking for their seats. Staff seemed stern and unhelpful overall. we were super excited to fly Icelandair and go through Iceland (it's been on my list for places to visit for years), and so we were extremely disappointed with the entire experience. Unfriendly people and uncomfortable flights and layover."

Once I landed in Lisbon after the second flight that o wasn’t supposed to take. We missed the connection by 5 minutes and there were many people flying to my same destination. I had to wait 5 hours in Lisbon when I shouldn’t have ever went to Lisbon. I bought a ticket from Newark to Zürich through Porto 10 hours in total. I think TAP overbooked everyone and seated us on purpose. The secondflight was delayed due to “bad weather” and it was perfectly nice outside. Shame on TAP. I’m sure other people are complaining."

Madrid was also delayed and we missed our connection to Venice. We got a new flight from Madrid to Venice and had to wait 5 hours for it. A trip from New Jersey to Venice ended up taking OVER 24 HOURS!!!! Due to the disgraceful disorganization and service of TAP PORTUGA we missed our best friends rehersal dinner a memory we would have loved to have. Extremely disorganized, terrible customer service OH AND WE HAD TO PAY FOR OUR BAGS TWICE to get reimbursed later but I don’t believe anything Tap Portugal says so we’ll see. Staff advice did not align and they were unapologetic for the experience we received."

Everything fell apart when we went to check in and we were told that my wife couldn’t use her ticket because she had changed her last name. We were told that there was no way that the name on the ticket could be changed because of TSA regulations. Of course, we were also told that we could have changed the name had we purchased a more expensive ticket. In other words, we were lied to and told the issue was regulation, when really they wouldn’t help us because we couldn’t afford a more expensive ticket. The only help we were given was the pleasure of paying over $1,500 more to get my wife on the flight. I am in the process of trying to get this refunded, but as of now we have paid twice for my wife to fly, and neither ticket has been refunded. We may have accidentally broken a rule, but the only function that rule seems to have is to make us pay twice for the same seat. As of now, I would never fly this airline again, and I would warn everyone away from it. I will update this post if TAP does the right thing by two honeymooners."

Cons: "To start off our trip we weren't allowed to get on the plane until an hour after our boarding time. After we were allowed on, the air conditioning was not working and continued to sit on the tarmac not even leaving our terminal for another two hours. Within this two hours there were many elderly people asking for help and one specific gentleman whom was in his late 70s, informed the people around him that he had a pacemaker was pleading to get some air conditioning to the point where 6 people on the airplane were fanning him off. It was 90 degrees in the airplane and we had been sitting in the plane without any help even pleading with the attendents to let the elderly off so they did not pass out. Once we reached the 2 hour mark without any ac the gentleman in his late 70s was beginning to lose consciousness and many people had to call the emergency services, and the crew on flight TP214, tried to tell us everything was fine while the plane was pulling away from the terminal ... as they were giving the man oxygen, even though the elderly gentleman had lost the ability to communicate verbally and was about to pass out. They had to pull the plane back off the tarmac fully delaying us 3 hours in the process making us miss our other two flights. Once we were finally in the air for the 6 hour flight our entertainment system was not working so we were left to twiddle our thumbs for the remainder of the trip. It really ruined what seemed to be an exciting trip and I highly doubt we would ever take TAP Portugal ever again or recommend it to anyone no matter the price."

Cons: "The airline makes money by having very low weight allowances on carry-on and checked luggages. The staff at the check in desk act like they are surprised and symphatetic about the overages meanwhile they enforce the weight limits to the gram. Most deplorable of all is the fact that they have one person on staff at a special desk where one can go to pay for the newly discovered overages. This desk and the person assigned to it full time is the proof that the company expects this kind of result before hand. Where on most continental flights the weight limit is usually set at 31 kilograms for checked-in baggages TAP Portugal has a limit of 23kg. Where most companies have no weight limit or around 20kg on carry-on baggage they have 8kg. The overages in weight result in a flat fee of $100 per luggage, even if the luggage is just one kilogram over the allowed limit. The low ticket purchase price is in my opinion a deplorable marketing scheme aimed at getting people to buy their tickets and then be faced with extra charges when it turns out weight alloweances are set at domestic standards."

When will Air Canada learn how to run an airline?"

Pros: "Flight went extremely smooth. No issues during the layover they even got us an earlier flight to our layover destination, giving us more time between flights."

Pros: "Our flight boarded slightly later than expected but ended up taking off on time. Flight crew was courteous and provided water the entire time to ensure everyone was hydrated. In flight entertainment was nicely done with a personal touch screen headrest TV that had ample TV and movies to choose from. We landed slightly ahead of schedule and by the time I got to baggage claim, my oversized bag (snowboard bag) was already waiting for me."

Bags were taken off the plane and then put back on...the subsequent flight (the next day) was also delayed, and required half he plane to sprint through Montreal to their connections. It was not worth it. Especially considering I tried to call Air Canada for some of my refund and the number they gave me was a fax line."
