Pros: I paid extra to get bulkhead seat. But the monitor won't stay up. So I asked for help. Flight attendant used duct tape for both my monitor and the one next to mine.

Pros: This flight was part of a longer trip - I flew from Hartford, CT, USA on a different airline and connected to Japan Airlines in Chicago. I flew Chicago to Tokyo in JAL and then from Tokyo to Manila again on JAL. The service on first leg was very good and friendly of my JAL flights, food was good, seat was comfortable. Then on my second flight from Tokyo to Manila I was shocked but thrilled that I had been given an upgrade to first class. The whole experience was outstanding! The seat was incredibly comfortable and the food was phenomenal. The only problem, not that you could call it a problem, was that I was so comfortable with my fluffy pillow and fully reclining seat that I couldn’t stay awake to finish my movie! Thank you!

Pros: The flight attendants were very attentive and polite, seats are some of the most comfortable of any airline I've flown (particularly compared to the US domestics), and entertainment is solid (although the English movie selection was not that large). I would definitely recommend JAL to others.

Pros: The flight from Chicago to Tokyo was delayed, which made me worried that I would miss the connection to Taipei. I was very happy to discover that an airline staff person was waiting for me when I got off the plane, having already changed me to another Taipei flight. She explained things and guided me to the right place. She was able to walk amazingly fast for a woman wearing high heels!

Cons: Checking in with Japan Airlines was a serious hassle. I had my e-ticket but they kept asking me if I had already paid. The flight was apparently overbooked but than at the last minute, they gave me and my girlfriend seats separated from each other. I sat in the back, she sat in front. The tickets also had trouble scanning and kayak isn't a known agency.

The house slippers were a nice touch and we really enjoyed the large movie selection. The miso soup with meals was great! Overall really enjoyed our flying experience with jal and would fly with them again.
Cons: The food for our return flight from haneda to Honolulu was definitely subpar compared to the food we had on our first jal Honolulu to Hong Kong flight (layover in narita). Also the plane was not as big and older so we didn't have the touch screen. We were quite impressed on our Honolulu to Hong Kong flight, then were a little let down on our haneda to Honolulu flight.

The dinner was terrible, options were horrid for non Koreans. The chicken was pink w old texture. Quality of food was immensely poor for Asiana. The staff on our row weren't pleasant and consistently didn't serve water or any liquids during this long flight.

Entertainment was very thin on movies and (jazz/classical) music, and the preview window was about one by two inches, ludicrously small. No English subtitles on most world or Asian movies.

Pros: Food was delish (esp the Korean options), and crew was very courteous. The plane going to our destination had an updated online entertainment system -- touch screen worked w/o too much effort and the control was an easy reach from in front of you but I can't say the same for the flight back which i think is an older plane.
Cons: I was getting sick and had fever the day i was going to fly back home. I was contemplating moving my flight but wanted to know if I could do it without getting charged (say if I had a doctor's note from the hospital) or at least how much I would have to pay... I didn't get to ask at all because (1) it was hard for me to find the correct customer service to call and (2) when I reached it, I was asked to call again as services were busy. I ended up taking the flight sick because I didn't want to rack up extra charges. Also, I find the seats pressing on to my thighs if my legs are in a relaxed position (meaning not trying to keep my knees together as if I was in a job interview). I've had to put a blanket or pillow between me and the armrests so they wouldn't hurt. Some airplanes have thinner more streamlined armrests and those have made some of my other travels more comfortable.

Pros: I particularly liked the seamlessness of the experience - from the downtown checkin and getting a boarding pass at Seoul station, taking the AREX, the efficiency and competence of the front line personnel, etc. I will recommend Asiana and I would consider taking them long distance except that I am a goldcard frequent flier with American/British/Cathay for many years now. Chicago talks about seamlessness in its airport experience but its train-to-the-plane is the chronic weak link.

Cons: I picked a window seat very early on through a phone call to a Turkish Airline agent in the USA, but when I checked in online, the seat assigned to me was gone and I was put in a middle seat while there were many other seats available. This erasure of the record and random seat assignment nullify the effort on the part of the passenger (making a call is not a trivial act these days because of the long waits) and generate uncertainty in the minds of the travellers. Hope you can improve on this point. That will make an even better impression on the passengers.

Cons: By the time they reached my row (37), they had run out of lemonade, chicken dinner, and even customs card. That was poor stocking. The service was mediocre at best. When I asked for beer and a cup of water, the female flight attendant ignored my request and just gave me water. Chicken entree had run out. When I pointed out that I do not eat beef, I was given a half-eaten special-order vegetarian tray: the salad, dessert, bread were all missing. I had to ask again for the rest of the contents of the tray and the male flight attendant was none too happy. So much so that, come breakfast time, he deliberately skipped serving me breakfast - he served the people on both my sides, and just walked away without so much as an explanation. That is rude and obnoxious behavior not becoming of anyone in the service profession.

At Istanbul, Ataturk Airport, Turkish Airline did not provide a Visa although they gave hotel and boarding passes for next days flight. At Istanbul, Ataturk airport it was a nightmare for us, as senior citizens. Why should we buy the Visa when the flight was delayed which is no fault of ours. Of the 4 automatic e-visa machines onlyEv 1 was working and there was a long queue. In between the machine stopped working for a long time and no one was there to assist or restart. They gave our boarding passes for the next days flight and their responsibility was over. We had to wait for over an hour to get the hotel. Overall it was a bad experience.

Pros: The traditional hospitality I got in flight was quite unique. Many things change but some things always remain the same. Some may call it old fashioned or not modern but then I am an old fashioned guy. It was like stepping back in time when things were always so much nicer.
Cons: Istanbul airport was very very busy and some places were not working very efficiently (security scan when you go from the plane to the transit lounge). The departure gate was overflowing in the waiting areas and the bus ride to the plane was very crowded. Aside from this Istanbul airport and the transit lounge were very pleasant.

Pros: I was very appreciative that the cabin crew went through the cabin prior to take off to check that everyone was wearing a mask properly (covering mouth AND nose). I flew United a few weeks ago and had to politely ask the person next to me both on return and departing flight to make sure the mask covered thier nose. A lot of people in the cabin weren't wearing masks properly and the crew didn't seem to care.

Cons: American isn’t my preferred airline for obvious reasons (delays, notoriously bad service, old planes, and a lack of amenities like WiFi and tv’s), but now I’ll never spend my money with them again. They took me off an already delayed flight after I’d already boarded to examine my smart bag. I know that lithium batteries can’t be taken in the underbelly of the plane and I knew my bag would likely be checked at the gate (why I removed the battery and left it at home in the first place). When they asked me if I had a lithium battery in my bag I said “no.” They then gate checked the bag and allowed me on the plane. After everyone had been boarded (half an hour after we’d been scheduled to take off) they then called my name out on the speaker. I had to then de-board the plane and re-explain to staff that there was no lithium battery in my bag. The staff didn’t believe me citing the infallible logic: “there are ports so there’s a battery.” I told them again and again that the battery had been removed and the charging ports—while there—were inert as they weren’t attached to the battery. STILL, I had to remove all of my clothes from the bag, and open every single compartment (of which there were many) for them to allow me to get back onto the plane. They were telling me that they might have to “rebook the flight” if my bag couldn’t get on. I don’t think I need to explain how agitated/terrified that made me.

Cons: In 2 weeks, my husband and I had 4 flights with American and none of them went as planned. We endured flight cancellation, incomplete rebooking with another airline, rude customer service agents, multiple flight delays as well as multiple day lost luggage. Finally, it cost $2K more to get to my destination. Obviously not flying American again.

Pros: Staff very professional, everything else went as planned. That's all one needs.
Cons: We had a hard time hearing (clarity of speech) announcements over the intercom at the gate & on the plains (specially when the captain spoke). Nothing life threatening, but wouldn't want to miss something important.

Pros: American did transfer us to another flight after several hours' delay.
Cons: Lack of scheduled flight crew caused a 2 hour delay causing American to re-route us via Chicago in lieu of Phoenix. Still, arrived 2 hours later...

Pros: I like the cookies. Any flight that safely lands is a good flight. I didn't have to hear the inflight "entertainment". There was room for my backpack, and I was in group 6 on a nearly full flight.
Cons: I hate having media flashed in my face. The srewardesses misses me when serving beverages, which is hard to imagine, and rarely happens. We had a particularly bumpy landing. I've flown a fair amount, and I thought our bouncing and jostling was unusual, but then weather is unpredictable - still... I've seen navy pilots stick landings of small planes in worse weather.

Cons: We were forced to check our Uppababy Vista stroller at EWR departures that we hoped to check at the gate. Needless to say this made it difficult to get our toddler through security. At baggage claim only half our stroller was there - they had disconnected the seat from the wheels. Luckily we spotted what looked like a similar frame to ours at the gate when we landed. It then took another forty minutes for the baggage claim office person to go through security, to the arrival gate and back to baggage claim.

I ran across the airport in Charlotte with my 2 small kids to find my original flight still there and I was kicked off of it. Irate and beyond bothered I got nothing but I'm sorry and you can get another flight in over an hour. So my small children and I will not arrive beyond dinner and bedtime. Unacceptable.

We had this once with Delta as well but they send you the new itinerary in front with a compensation and help you at the airport... For us it's never AA again

Cons: No individual entertainment systems on the seat backs--4.5 hours is a long time to be sitting on a plane with only an overhead screen showing whatever movie the airline chose. Also, charging $125 for a carry-on pet that has to stay under the seat AND having it count towards as one of my two "free" carry-ons is ridiculous. The flight was delayed because one of the crew was late.

Pros: Getting to my seat was overall the best experience. Out side of the finally walking onto the plane and sitting down, over an hour late, it was less than mediocre.
Cons: If the plane was on time and didn't run an hour and 20 Ish minutes late, it would have been fine, except for the blinking over head reading light that would flash in my face every 20/30 seconds that could not be turned off being due to, as the flight attendant said, "they all do that".

It was almost as if the flight attendants were traveling to Dallas and they happened to have to take care of passengers along the way. There were very few smiles, hellos, or how can I help you. It was almost always and grunt and what do you want? The personal device entertainment was very buggy. the movie I tried to watch kept skipping, like on old scratched CD.

I believe that LGA or American Airlines should refund my expenses, because otherwise it makes me not want to ever go through either again.

Pros: When it finally took off the flight itself was smooth.
Cons: Plane was delayed coming in, then we were told we were waiting on catering. Then it became a weather issue. Then we boarded. Weather got worse so they took us off. The second time we boarded and were told we’re waiting on catering who wasn’t on site then had to go through airport security. After 3HOURS , we were asked to leave the plane. For rebounding the next morning with no explanation. The next morning the flight was delayed an additional 3HOURS. We were never given food in all this time of a wait. This became an 18+ hour delay. We definitely missed our connection and they rebooked it.

Pros: Request for supply of earplugs was kindly met. Cabin crew were attentive and friendly. Food was some of the best I have ever eaten in Economy.
Cons: Check-in staff at EWR were abrupt to the point of rudeness. Did not feel valued as a customer.

Pros: Very friendly crew that empathized with the plight of the passengers on board. The poor experiences throughout the journey could have been avoided if United changed it's policies and processes to become more customer focused.
Cons: So many small things add up to an overall poor experience on a flight, and it doesn't seem like United understands this. 1) WiFI was down. 2) Entertainment screens for several of the passengers on board were not working. The poor lady next to me had a broken screen, and combined with the broken WiFi, she literally just sat in her seat looking forward for several hours (after she finished the podcasts on her phone). 3) For a 5-6 hour flight, food (more than just snacks) were available for only about half the passengers on board. Apparently its an intentional policy of United to only have food available for a portion of the passengers. It wasn't even possible to purchase it if I wanted to because by the time the crew got to me, they were all out. 4) Baggage space under the seat varies wildly depending on your seat. For some reason, the aisle seat has the smallest space I have ever seen in my life (about the size of a shoe box). It was the first flight I have ever been on where I was literally not able to fit a small backpack underneath my seat.

Pros: The staff was courteous and efficient. The entertainment selections were diverse. The seating was adequate for a long haul flight.
Cons: The check-in process took 50 minutes at the counter as the staff told me that I needed a visa for China (transit) while that info was incorrect. I had to deal with online customer service while the person at the counter couldn’t help. It finally took 3 people at the counter to send me away. Once on the plane for a 14+ hour flight, I couldn’t use the bathrooms freely as they were filthy. The staff obviously didn’t maintain the bathrooms during the entire flight. The food served made me wish that I had bought take-out food for 3-meals prior to my boarding. the quantity of food was inadequate for the long flight as well. 1 extra snack would have been appreciated. I will likely book my future trans-Pacific flights with another airline.

Cons: I don't usually write reviews but my flight check in experience was awful. The woman checking the tickets while boarding was incredibly curt and rude to the old man in front of me (who clearly had an issue with his ticket that was not his fault), then when she got to me she took a look at my bag and said "it's huge I need to check that". It's a bag that I have carried on to hundreds of flights (feel free to look at my flight history with united) and definitely fits in to the over head. When I asked her "is it too big or is there no space?" she said "no space" without even looking at me. I proceeded to board the flight only to find tons of over head compartment space. This is very frustrating. She didn't even take the time to fit my bag in the measuring tool at boarding. She seemed to be in a rush for no reason. The flight was already delayed and being rude wasn't going to make it go any faster. I'm now a silver status member, likely to be gold by the end of the year. I've flown a lot, and I think it's totally reasonable to expect at least some level of politeness while boarding.

Cons: The customer service was mediocre. The selection of complementary beverage was minimal compared to other airlines. The staff are disgruntled and sometimes rude. There was always some sort of mechanical problems with the plane going to Puerto Plata and coming back. On the way to DR we had to divert to Miami because of problems with Navigation. They made us wait seven hours and gave us a voucher for food at the last minute. People had already bought food. I would not recommend United to none of my associates.

Cons: I don't understand the purpose of basic economy. I bought my ticket months ahead of time and paid over $300 for it. Only to find out when it was time to board that I wasn't guaranteed a seat. EVEN THOUGH I BOUGHT A TICKET AND IT WASNT CHEAP. I was put on a waitlist and finally got a ticket after boarding was supposed to be over. I was appalled by the whole thing. Doing away with basic economy or just giving those who buy those tickets the basic rights that should come with an airline ticket should be considered. How can you deny someone a seat if they bought a ticket months ahead of time? What if I wasn't lucky and couldn't get a seat? Wait until the next flight hours later and get put on a waitlist there too? Something needs to change.

Pros: I know it's not the crews fault for the delay, but everything was just truly horrendous. I was a little hesitant to fly United after their scandal, but now I know that I should not have. After a 2+ hour delay, I had to pay $60 at the gate to check a CARRY-ON that I had already asked about at the baggage drop at the beginning of that dreadful day. They assured me that it would be no problem, and foolish me, I actually believed them, so instead of paying $25 to check it ahead of time, I got screwed for $60. For a close to 6 hour flight, a meal should be provided. Entertainment was free because of the fiasco, but normally it's $7.99 which is ridiculous. Lastly, the leg room was really nonexistent. Truly the worst experience I've ever had flying, and I've flown plenty of airlines, both domestic and international. I definitely think my return trip back to Jersey will be my last time flying United.
Cons: Refer to the aforementioned post outlining everything I did not like about this absolute trip from hell. Very disappointing to experience that and it really started the trip out on a sour note. Hopefully it gets better before I have to get back on another United plane back home.

The only logical reason is that the final scale shows more. Cons: That when I explained being hearing impaired the boarding attendant said my carry on needed to be checked. I didn't understand her and proceeded to the loading blank. Then when boarding the attendant informed me. I explained I checked my bag in the airport compartment tester and it was fine. I also asked the attendant at the counter. She confirmed it was fine. Still smiling until the snack pretzels were passed out. When I didn't hear the attendant's question, in spite of telling her I was hearing impaired, she threw her hand up rudely and just continued on to other customers. When boarding I watched orhers board with the same size bag as mine, and wondered if telling someone you can't hear gives them the right to inform you at the gate that your bag needs to be checked?

Cons: My husband and I flew from Newark to Atlanta on 03/12/2017 with United. My husband is active duty military and Alicia assisted us with checking in our baggage. She was very kind and helpful. After retrieving our tickets, we went through Security and my goodness, the process at Newark is awful and TSA WAS EXTREMELY RUDE. That's besides the point. Our flight was delayed because the pilot was not there. Our departure was at 0605 and we didn't leave until 0630. Everyone boarded the plane and we were waiting for the pilot. Then the crew members were pretty rude and not friendly. I know it's an early bird flight but jeez, they can be a little nicer. One stewardess had high heel boots and literally would stomp up and down the aisle. Then she kept saying my purse was not under my seat which it clearly was. I don't know where else she'd like me to put it, maybe in the passengers seat in front of me. I would probably not fly United unless I have no other choice.

Cons: On both flghts we requested a bassinet for our 3 month old. We were told on the phone if one was available we were able to have it. Both flights had bassinets but we weren't allowed access to them. On our first leg the bassinet was in economy plus and we were economy. On the way home our fight was downsized to a smaller plane and the airline was too busy trying to cut 25 people off the fight they weren't able to give us a seat where the bassinet would be. We asked several flight attendants and got different answers from each one.

Pros: The flight itself was great.. However the experience at the airport was terrible.. After placing several calls prior to my departure date to confirm that my 40 inch TV was ok for transportation , it wasn't until I got to the airport to find out that I was unable to take the TV or the TV stand.. I live in Philadelphia and had nowhere to leave it causing me to give it to a stranger in order to make my flight . I am very distraught that the information indicating there was an embargo restricting the transportatione of TV greater 32 inches or boxes to Montego Bay was not given during any of those calls.. I don't understand why that information was not sent in an email prior.. On top of that I placed a call to customs in Montego Bay and was adviced that the embargo is enforced by the airline not customs... If I could some how get some answers regarding this I would appreciate it...

Cons: The plane was delayed incoming. Then boarding was interminably long because of overbooking and no overhead room for luggage. It took precious time to load passengers 1 group at a time while bags were checked. Once airborne I saw I only had 10 minutes or less to make my connection in Newark, which I inevitably missed. Poorly scheduled. Many passengers missed connections. It would have been much quicker and easier to advise passengers to check bags at the gate BEFORE the plane arrived knowing it was overbooked. I'm very disappointed in how the entire boarding was handled given the time constraints.

Cons: I was in the center bulkhead seat with an very oversized man on the aisle seat with a "service dog". It was not a service dog in the sense that it was all over the place--on my feet and in the aisle where it tripped a stewardess more than once and she told him it couldn't be in the aisle. So it pushed over to my seat because the guy was just to big to share his legroom. It shredded napkins the man dropped which a trained dog would not do. it bounced his tray table up causing him to drop his two vodkas. I had to have the stewardess tell him to move his arm and body out of my seat so I could stow my tray for landing. When waiting for my ride outside the dog was off lease and ran into the pickup lanes where the man had to chase him down. A true service dog would never behave like that.

Pros: The crew were nice though exasperated with cramped new planes and crowded restrooms. Flight was on time
Cons: After three years of flying all around US, realized United is the worst of the three major legacy carriers. I'm star alliance gold and it's still a painful experience. Crew admitted in latest redesign of planes they've managed to squeeze another six seats in coach. My seat wouldn't go back but even if it did, would feel too guilty for person behind to do it - so little legroom on newer planes. They've also cut down on restrooms so for most of the flight there was a line of 5-6 people waiting in the aisle. American Airlines seems to have older planes but at least decent legroom (and I'm not tall - anybody over 5'10 would have to sit at an angle on new United planes!). Been very impressed by Delta's service lately. United feels more like Spirit

Cons: I upgrade to premium economy. This gave me a seat with legroom -but one that did NOT RECLINE ... on a night flight. I am very unhappy. It was not made clear when I upgraded (must have been very small print). I feel ripped off

Cons: This was the flight from hell. Terrible uncomfortable seats. Could not get the monitor turned off and out of my eyes. Plus we were delayed 4 hours in this crappy airport only to get on a really crappy plane. We were supposed to arrive in Tampa before 10 but wound up getting in like a red eye at 1230 am. Lost out on our ride home and we were so exhausted. I cried most of this flight home 2 1/2 hour flight. Nice staff but crappy plane. I am waiting to get a call to get reimbursed for my loss of time at work and the missed ride home.
