The United States has restricted the entry of all foreign nationals who have passed through or have been in China, Iran, Most European Countries (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City), the UK, Ireland and Brazil in the past 14 days.
With the exception of certain travelers which includes certain family members of US citizens or permanent residents including; spouses, children (under the age of 21), parents (provided that his/her US citizen or permanent resident child is unmarried and under the age of 21), and siblings (provided that both the sibling and the US citizen or permanent resident are unmarried and under the age of 21);
There is also an exception for travelers with the following visas: A-1, A-2, C-1, C-1/D, C-2, C-3, CR-1, CR-2, D, E-1 (as an employee of TECRO or TECO or the employee's immediate family members), G-1, G-2, G-3, G-4, IR-1, IR-4, IH-4, NATO-1 through NATO-4, or NATO-6 visa;
Members of the US Armed Forces, spouses, and children of members of the US Armed Forces;
Travelers with invitation of the USA government for a purpose related to the containment/mitigation of the Coronavirus (COVID-19);
Travelers with documents issued by the US Department of Homeland Security, US Customs and Border Protection, or US Department of State indicating that the traveler is exempt from the restriction;
B1 crew crewmembers that are engaged in lightering, Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) activity, wind farm activity, private air/sea crew and other similar crewmember activities;
Students with an F-1 or M-1 visa and their F-2 and M-2 dependents, if they arrive from or have been in Ireland, the UK or Schengen Area in the past 14 days.
Starting on January 26, all travelers (including US citizens and transit passenger) must present a negative COVID-19 viral or antigen test result issued 72 hours prior to departure or have an evidence of having contracted and recovered from COVID-19 prior to boarding the plane.
US citizens and permanent residents arriving from the UK must present a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure.
Travelers returning to the US are advised to stay home as much as possible, avoid being around people and consider getting tested for COVID-19 after returning from travel and participated in higher risk activities.

The checkin staff had already left the desk with 1 hr and 10 minutes before the flight. The guy at the information desk came to verify. After making a scene the police/security finally agreed to get someone on the radio. They refused to come back to get us and we were not allowed to go through security. We were told to go to an office in another building but the door was locked, no one home. We continue to fight but couldn't get any progress, missed our flight and ended up spending 10 hours in that airport and then having to wait an extra 10 in China for our missed connection. We went to the office. They refused to help us. Made us pay cash, couldn't take credit card, had to take out 3 different withdrawls, couldn't rebook us, had to call a downtown office. And basically said we were liars and we weren't there on time. Even though they only had the 2 employees working the entire airport for this airline. Still no power in the seats, no wifi, ended up missing an entire day plus the travel day that I was meant to be working. Travel insurance wouldn't cover because it wasn't a "strike" I don't know what else you call it when someone decides not to do their job."

All of the passengers were immediately switched to a different airplane. The safety of the airline and the pocedures used to ensure the craft was 100% was very comforting."

During the entire 4 hour flight, passengers were offered a bag of chips and nothing else, not even for purchase. Thus particular plane didn't have any screen for entertainment. I was most bothered by the baggage fee of $50 ($25 each way ) because the ticket price doesnt reflect an airline that charges for necessary things."

Customer service agent, Theresa, at the United gate was more interested in checking her cell phone text messages & handing out $10 food vouchers than the long of people who have conflicts with connecting flights or missing events in the destination they were flying to. Every minute lost could prevent customers from obtaining another immediate or comparable flight to their destination. Customer service agent sent those who were going to have problems with their connecting flights to the United Airlines service desk, of which, there were no customer service agents at any of the four available stations. I waited 10 minutes for an agent & no one arrived. When I went back to the original line I was standing in, I was forced to go to the back of the line rather than the place I was originally standing. Therefore I waited in line an additional 20-30 minutes. Once I was served they did not have any more seats available on direct flights to Melbourne. They wanted me to fly to NY, then Sydney & then Melbourne. Additionally the customer service agent did not seem confident this flight was not going to have any hiccups. Worst of all, I had been planning this trip for months & it was ruined by United Airlines."

He left it inside of the pocket holder of the seat on the plain where the magazine are. He called and was told nothing was there. On our way back home, the flight was delayed 3 1/2 hours behinds. At no moment did the co pilot excused himself nor did he apologized for the the delay. We deserved at least a free meal or some kind of compensation. Instead, the pilot and flight attendants just told us to rich it because we had to leave to L.A! We (8) family members came and this includes an elderly person (my mother who has been fighting cancer for about 2 years, along with diabetes) came to see her grandaughter get married. Now they were rushing her as well? Uncalled for. Now my other brother and his family which was a party of 10 on another flight, also flew to Hawaii. Now that alone tells you how much money was spent. The stay in Hawaii was amazing! We would visit again but the way we were treated on this airline, I don't think we would fly again and choose this airline. To be honest, not even recommend it. I'm ashamed to let others know such as friends and co workers know of this airline's service. To top it off one flight attendant was very rude! She saw us when she handed the other passengers pretzels and skipped my mother, my sister and I. I asked her nicely if we may have some and told her she had skipped us. She said, "I did?" Came back with 6 bags of thenm and was like, "Here!" Like shoving them to me. I felt humiliated! I didn't say anything because I didn't want to embarrass her. But it was extremely rude!!! I read some reviews and I guess it's normal on your end to be the way you treat your customers. We even asked before abording from Hawaii to L.A, what can you do to make up for all this and we were told, "nothing could". So ashamed."

Plane was new but no real in-flight entertainment for a long flight. Uncomfortable flight all around. Will do everything I can to avoid United from now on. 14 hour travel day that should have been half the time! Haven't had such a bad experience in years."

Airline staff was completely unapologetic and disingenuous, saying my bags would arrive on the next flight at 11 (there was no flight arriving at 11) and then treating me like I was inconveniencing them by needing to leave the airport two hours after my flight landed instead of continuing to wait indefinitely for my bags."

The food on the flight was poor and the crew never came around to offer water."

Cons: "The ticketing agents in San Francisco were very rude in the check in process. No online check in or Kiosks so you have to talk to a rude person. Then the same people go board the plane which started to board at the same time it is supposed to leave (its a 747 so there is a lot of people it is not a 10 min board) this makes it very difficult if you have a connecting flight. Every flight that I took with them (4 total) left late and my luggage did not arrive in LA on my way back to the USA. Their baggage office was not helpful and when I tried to call them over the next several days they never answered or responded to messages left on the machine or via email. The in flight is good on the ground it is terrible."

Cons: "Traveling from Bangkok we were required to go through security twice more at Beijing from some reason, and then again prior to boarding our carry-ons were checked again and all water/liquids taken from us. This became a problem because after the initial meal and drink service there was no service for more than six hours. For at 12 hour flight only two meals were offered. The flight attendants were scarce and unwilling to help people, even closing the curtains to their work areas. My girlfriend is on medication and shouldn't become dehydrated so I was forced to "acquire" a bottle of water from the service area when the attendant left. The food was atrocious, far worse than when we flew from San Francisco to Beijing for some reason. I believe the crew was understaffed and tired. Overall it was extremely disappointing and I will do my best never to fly with them again, or through Beijing airport."

I still don't know the reason Customer care: horrible, either there are no reps with Air China or they just don't pick their phones. Tried calling them on various occasions for various things but wasn't answered even once (except for booking the meals). Baggage care: irresponsible, my luggage couldn't be loaded on time despite a good 3 hour layover at Beijing airport. I stood at the baggage belt for a good 45 mins (on the edge of crying) before the person responsible to inform me that my luggage hasn't arrived yet showed up. After that as well, I wasn't given a file reference number through which I could track my luggage. Also, nobody picks the phone at baggage claim office unless you call repeatedly for 50 times. What's with the distance between their phones and reps? Inflight crew: impolite, just one word for them. Food: boiled veggies for Hindu vegetarian meals, I mean I wouldn't place a special request for a meal like this. Seats: uncomfortable, the small monitor hangs so frequently that you give up watching even your favourite movie inside a boring flight."

Cons: "The food was the worst that I have ever had in a flight. Absolutely terrible. My husband and I travel 2-4 times a year so we have quite a bit of experience. I only a piece of bread and some watermelon in a 12.5 hour flight. The cabin crew, although very polite, did not have control of the passengers who were not sitting when required, pulling their bags out of the overhead compartments when getting ready to land and customers helping themselves in the flight attendant alcove. You are not allowed to use your cell phone at all during the flight and are not permitted to bring any liquids on the plane even after you clear customs and security. They inspect your bags before boarding AGAIN!"

Beijing business class lounge offered very low quality and extremely limited food."
