Pack a hoodie and wear pants. Don't purchase anything past initial security check- youll have to empty any drink- even a sealed cola can- before getting through a secondary screening at your gate.
DavidFlew with Philippine AirlinesMNL-LAXMay 2025
Airport departure is a zoo. You have to show documents of travel just to gain entry. Confusing inside but staff very helpful in getting you lined up where you need to be. Immigration and security screening typical however when you arrive at departure gate you are not allowed to bring any drinks into the gate area and it is a long dry period until first service onboard. You can leave the gate area but must go through secondary screening again to return to the gate waiting area.

Bring your own meals like sandwich, nuts, fruit, or protein bar, because the food not only smells fowl but tastes even more so. Jesus, I’d rather just eat a protein bar.

Get to the airport early because ground transportation to/from takes time and patience. Horribly crowded airport takes time to understand if one doesn’t understand Japanese language. Transfer time from previous flight was obviously not long enough and yet this was what booking service recommended

Wear comfy shoes it is a long flight. If you can try to get a window seat cause the middle seat is super uncomfortable. But the flight is amazing and even though it is a long flight I had fun

If you have multiple carry-on. You may be subjected to have tags or have to pay, due to limited spaces. I was fortunate to have my bag under seat for take off. Other passengers decided to bring the whole room with them without me having space to put my backpack carry on.

1. Make sure the passport information has been correctly recorded with the ticket, otherwise you will not be able to pass custom/security at China. Ticket purchased overseas often misses such info. 2. Arrive at the airport early. 3+ hours would be my recommendation.

Monitor flight information closely in case unexpected cancelation. Other than that, everything was good.

I have not flown other flights to Tokyo, so I have not much to add here. I did appreciate the option of a direct flight to your destination. Having to connect to another flight is at minimum a 2 hour add to your traveling time to an already long flight. Even though a connecting flight you have been more economical, the saved time will s worth the slightly extra cost to me.
RickFlew with United AirlinesHND-SFOMay 2024
Haneda Airport was most convenient for me. My friend lives in Chiba so Haneda was closer to drop me off. There was a monorail if coming by train, so that came be convenient too. Check in was a breeze and also ANA accepts luggage forwarding service from our hotel which made it more convenient too!
Verified travelerFlew with ANANRT-SFOMay 2024
Haneda airport now handles most of the international traffic. It's much closer to downtown Tokyo. Narita is 45-55 minutes out of town. Do online and complete you immigration documentation before your flight. Print the QR code and the machine will scan it along with your passport. Much faster.
GordonFlew with United AirlinesSIN-SFOApr 2024
Check your all or most of your luggage if you can. Take a small light carry for your must have items with you such as snacks, book and electronics on hand accessible during the flight.

Don’t choose Air India. Immigration and security checks in Delhi was very crowded, took almost an hour and half to go through. Need plenty of time to transfer from domestic to international.

Bring a sweater, a mask and wear socks. Although they provided a blanket, it’s very chilly on a long flight. I caught a nasty cold from the flight and wasn’t masked up. Other than that our flight was great and comfortable.

Qatar and Emirates are so far best options. Landing in domestic airport had pain of taking baggage from baggage claim and then again be in line to checkin the hand bag even though bag was tagged to final destination. So we have to avoid flights landing in domestic airport during transfer with layover.

Don’t go with any regular expectations. This is point a to point b. Put on your noise cancelling headphones, bring your own food, close your eyes and go. This is still the most efficient flight travel time wise.

One thing to be mindful of is that China Airlines has a carryon luggage weight restriction of 7kg. While it was somewhat enforced on my flight from LAX to TPE and I was forced to remove my laptop and other heavier items from my carryon, it was not enforced on my return flight making it very inconsistent. I do not have to deal a carryon restriction on my other international flights so this was an inconvience flying China Arilines vs other Asian airlines like EVA Air and Asiana.

Do not Fly Philippines air it will more then likely be late/cancelled has happened multiple times to me whether going to LA or Honolulu… best bet is to fly to Japan or Taiwan first then continue to USA

I have never heard of EVA air before but I am so happy my wife and I were able to flight on their planes twice. Everything on these flights just felt better than their competitors. As someone with longer legs any bit of extra leg spaces is appreciated. The different options for food and drinks were also a plus. They were extra careful to make sure my wife's eating restrictions were taken care for. They had a before take off and landing announcements on the built in tablets for each seat and it gave out information that was very helpful. Such as what and how to declare your items in the specific country you landed in, any odd items that may be illegal to bring it (and even the reasoning why) and any other information you might need to make your post flight experience better. Oh and the seats were more comfortable, had more ability to lean and the headrest was much better for flight sleeping. The only downside was there were "forced" ads on the tablet at take off for maybe 5-10 minutes but honestly, this flight was the cheapest option and had all the benefits listed above that is such an easy trade off. Im keeping an eye out for EVA air going forward.

Aircraft was late getting to the gate - probably due to weather. We left the gate one hour late and had to wait another hour since we lost our slot in the takeoff queue. Our box was very wet and was falling apart when we got to Clark. It appears that luggage was exposed to weather in TPE while waiting to be loaded. Crew, however, handled the delay well and was able to provide planned service.

Sub sandwhich for a snack through mid flight and giving a bottle water was a good idea

Everything is good staff is polite and helpful flights are on time sub sandwhich for a snack was good with a bottle of water only thing maybe more variety of food like breakfast or dinner depends on the time

seats are pitched well. you don't feel too tight.

For the price, it was better than other airlines; quality of food and service was very good.

Check in process in Manila was so slow. From the time we got in line to reaching the counter we could have arrived at Taipei even if the flight was delayed for half hour.

Very smooth flight. Superb crew, great food and service. Slept most of the way. Excellent airline.

Great but I am not sure why I was placed in zone 4 for boarding despite being an Infinity Member??? Can you explain online. Thanks

The beefsteak on the lunch menu was excellent! I usually do not eat airplane food. I loved it.

Flight was too cold. I wore a regular cotton tee and it wasn’t enough. It was a night time flight so I would have thought a blanket would be provided to passengers. A 4 hour flight and no options for a meal? I flew Asiana the next day from Seoul to Manilla. Same duration, 4 hours. They give everyone a pillow and blanket and serve a meal. Why is United so cheap and holding back meals and amenities? Also, they promote too much gay stuff and DEI in their advertisements. Please be mindful of other beliefs and don’t shove your gay ideology down my throat.

Staff always with a smile and very helpful with my mom who has mobility issues.

It was all perfect and very pleasant for such long flights

The seats felt very small. We were supplied with pillows and blankets, which was nice. Lots of noise from the bathroom, plus exterior noise. Made it hard to hear the entertainment system, even using my own noise-cancelling headphones. The food was really bad. I generally request a vegetarian meal and one was supplied, but the pasta was cold and hard and there was nothing pleasant about it. Two meals were served on this flight; one was a repeat of the meal I had had on the flight immediately preceding this one, which was bad enough I didn't even try it. Drinks were very limited. All I wanted was water, and on a 10.5 hour flight, I was given 3 cups of about 3 ounces each.

We took business class, It was comfortable and I was able to sleep.

Everything was perfect. A flight attendant even brought me snacks after I declined food due to my desire to force myself to follow the destination time zone.

For the most part, it was an enjoyable experience. It's the 2nd half of the journey was a bit uncomfortable. It was on a noticable smaller plane compared to the previous one.

Only process that my luggage didn’t make it to my destination because of short connection but I understand

The usual excellent experience with Singapore Airlines. The airplane was on time and actually early to Haneda Airport. The onboarding experience was pleasant with no delays, perhaps owing to the fact that the flight was not full. Nevertheless, the air crew were their usual outstanding standards in serving the passengers.

We were not given option for meals since they ran out of the other option but good thing the remaining options tasted great.

Construction at PDX resulting in very lung walk from the rental car to the gate. SFO, extremely long walk between terminals to get to connecting Singapore airlines flight. My smart watch recorded a total of 3 miles.

Loved the airline with the exception of their carry on limitations. They enforce a strict 7 kilo limit for carry on baggage which is ridiculous. We traveled from SFO to SIN with carry on with no difficulty yet when we checked in Delhi they forced us to check the carry on bags. The weight of our carry on bags were 11 and 12 kilos and while they exceeded the limitations set by Singapore Airlines they were well under weight limitations set by may other carriers. Interestingly my wife and I were each allowed two 22 KG bags to check in addition to the 7 kg carry on for a total weight of 102 KG's. Our total weight with the one bag we planned to check and our two carry ons was 46 kgs.

So happy I flew with Singapore Airlines. The customer service is top notch. I am terrified of flying and the staff made me feel so at ease. Will only fly Singapore internationally moving forward.

It was very good experience on board to Sydney with SQ.

Flight from SFO did not include entertainment as it was not working the entire duration of the flight. Was informed that there would be a $350 voucher for the inconvenience. Uncertain how the voucher will be provided.

I very much liked and appreciated the service on board. The seating arrangement in Business feels uncomfortable. It's not made for tall people, in any case.

Great airline. Excellent service, good food & lots of TV movies/shows to choose from.

Everything was good except food , food choices was very less. Washrooms were closed.overall good experience.

The food and service was great. You have to pay a lot for in flight Internet though which is lame.

Flight was delayed at the last minute for six hours. Instead of delaying it to a normal hour, they moved it to 10 pm to essentially make it a redeye. There was no compensation or benefit offered for this inconvenience. Once on the plane, Inpaid for WiFi twice with both times it not working because of a “weak WiFi signal”, according to the flight attendants. They also chose the farther possible gates in both airports from the entrance/exit, even though they were one of the few active flights left so late in the evening. Overall it was pretty horrible.

I had high expectations but met with a below average experience. I hope the Airline will take a notice and improve.

Special request meals are really below average. Vegetarian options are very limited if you didn't prebook.

I've stomach problems after 2 hours of flight, Iris, the flight purser not only did her best to make me feel comfortable, she went above and beyond providing pain relievers medicines and ointment. She look and found a doctor passenger on the flight to provide advise. She even report on ground staffs about my condition and provide wheelchair upon arrival. Kudos to her and Cathay Pacific!

I have a Peanut Allergy and the Steward staff were very accommodating in ensuring my safety as my allergy is life threatening. Very professional and so vested in their profession.

Everything was fine and I have no complaints or things to note.

The flight was delayed for 30 mins. The overall experience was good.

flight delayed 45 mins - missed connection - 1 hr layover became 8 hr layover waiting for next flight -

Fast boarding flight on time boarded plane back to front instead of stupid zone groups like US airlines do...

Food is good, staff is good... Wi-fi quality is poor, disembarkment after landing is atrocious.

Flight crew was lovely. Bathrooms should have been cleaner. The handsets in business class for watching the entertainment are horrible. Very difficult to figure out which buttons are for what. I managed to get the flight maps on my screen but it wasn't easy. Never got anything else up.

Uneventful trip. Good flight crew. Food could have been better and a bit more of it. Cabin cleanliness was ok.

Inflight Services are poor compared to other airlines. They do not offer even water during 15 hr flight. Food is little in portion and I had food poisoning after last meal ( rajma chawal)

Boarding at Mumbai airport was terrible, the staff had no idea how to handle it. It was chaos - and led to a delay

My seats that I paid for were changed last minute and I had to sit in uncomfortable chairs

This was a bery good experience as it was a newer plane . AI older plane bussiness class is bad .

What a pathetic plane it was. Entertainment system didn’t work. USB port was broken. There was a hole on top of folding serving table. Broken restrooms in the middle of flight.

Our seat monitor did not Not work either way going to Vietnam. I had a bulkhead seat with plenty of room, but with No monitor, it was a long flight with no movies. Fun was good, staff was Excellent.

I will never ever book air india in the future. I was with my family and at delhi airport I had to go through too with horrible experience. My 12 years daughter saud that she will never come bqck to india the way people treated us. There was no line for bags drop off since we checked online and print tag at their Kiosk as per email instruction. People working at the counter were so careless and rude. They were keep talking to each other than taking care the customers. I will not recommend anyone to fly via air india. I had horrible experience. Especially, the staff at checking counters was very very rude and careless. I have feeling if air india won't change the way they doing their operations they will out of business in a few years. Air hostes were not happy . I did not see a smile on anyone in the plane. I called twice for the assistance and no one showed up. I hope you will sene this to the Hire authority. I left a video with an another employee of air india who asked me about my experiences. I hope they will make some changes ASAP. Regars, Mohinder Kumar
