I noticed several babies and small children crying due to the change in pressure during take off and landing. It causes pain in the their ears, the same way with adults, but they don't know what's going on or how to relieve it. The small children can open their mouth wide and close it, like they are chewing something. For the babies, the parents can push their chin down to open their mouth and let them close it. Repeat until cabin pressure stabilizes. It's much more useful than trying to ask to children to stop crying.

Going through immigration services is pretty quick. The agents were nice and efficient. But there is not distinct direction for foreign vs US passport. There should be someone there direction traffic. Don’t be afraid to ask. That is why they are there. My last visit, everyone just picked a side and guessed. There was a mix of both and we all got through. So I don’t think it’s as big a deal in SF that it is in other places. You all end up at the same baggage claim anyways.

Pack a hoodie and wear pants. Don't purchase anything past initial security check- youll have to empty any drink- even a sealed cola can- before getting through a secondary screening at your gate.

Airport departure is a zoo. You have to show documents of travel just to gain entry. Confusing inside but staff very helpful in getting you lined up where you need to be. Immigration and security screening typical however when you arrive at departure gate you are not allowed to bring any drinks into the gate area and it is a long dry period until first service onboard. You can leave the gate area but must go through secondary screening again to return to the gate waiting area.

1. Make sure the passport information has been correctly recorded with the ticket, otherwise you will not be able to pass custom/security at China. Ticket purchased overseas often misses such info. 2. Arrive at the airport early. 3+ hours would be my recommendation.

I have not flown other flights to Tokyo, so I have not much to add here. I did appreciate the option of a direct flight to your destination. Having to connect to another flight is at minimum a 2 hour add to your traveling time to an already long flight. Even though a connecting flight you have been more economical, the saved time will s worth the slightly extra cost to me.

Haneda airport now handles most of the international traffic. It's much closer to downtown Tokyo. Narita is 45-55 minutes out of town. Do online and complete you immigration documentation before your flight. Print the QR code and the machine will scan it along with your passport. Much faster.

Qatar and Emirates are so far best options. Landing in domestic airport had pain of taking baggage from baggage claim and then again be in line to checkin the hand bag even though bag was tagged to final destination. So we have to avoid flights landing in domestic airport during transfer with layover.

One thing to be mindful of is that China Airlines has a carryon luggage weight restriction of 7kg. While it was somewhat enforced on my flight from LAX to TPE and I was forced to remove my laptop and other heavier items from my carryon, it was not enforced on my return flight making it very inconsistent. I do not have to deal a carryon restriction on my other international flights so this was an inconvience flying China Arilines vs other Asian airlines like EVA Air and Asiana.

My flight was amazing smooth and the attendants were so friendly and nice

Crew are excellent. Food was good generally. Seats are small and there isn’t much leg room. Overhead bins are very small.

What could have been better, was we were delayed from takeoff for two hours. Initially we were informed that we were delayed for refueling. Then we taxied out on the tarmac, then just waited there for a long time, with no explanation of the delay. Were we just waiting on takeoff clearance or was there some other reason for the delay? The pilot, nor none of the crew informed us passengers. That was not good customer service. That needs to be improved, whenever a delay, inform the passengers for the reason.

More seat space More bathrooms Charging outlets Plane was old

This flight was long and I am so thankful I had a seat in the back of the plane. As I usually must get up and stretch every hour . The crew were probably the most friendly I have flown with. Thanks and I will book again with Eva air. Food was ok too.

It was a pleasure to fly with EVA airlines from Taipei to San Francisco.

I love EVA airline, but the KAYAK website for not in emergency, urgency and personal issues. For instance, on January 5/2026 with already booked the flight, I have a 15 hours of delay between airport when booked before as my choice. But if I want to go back home (U.S) early, then I have to contact the KAYAK office at I was in other country without phone service and nothing that EVA can do for me. Even I offered to pay more to change from another flight to go to the U.S early, not wasting at15 hours of delay, but EVA could not help me until I call KAYAK at an Island of nation. No office of KAYAK from any nation and times of difference in the world. However, everything and everyone is the best. Therefore, please KAYAK making much more easy for both the airline and passenger in some issues at the middle of nowhere in some country when no need to call KAYAK for some emergency, urgency, sick, etc or personal reference. Please, please, please no need to call KAYAK office for any changes of flights from urgency or private.

My seat arrangement was good with Eva Air. The toilet sanitary was good ( hand wash, face moist spraying, fresh air spray, hair moisturizer). But the Asian movie selection was not great at all.

Don’t preorder the diabetic meal if you don’t have to. Whoever creates those meals thinks everyone loves fish, and hates seasoning. In a world where we can find diabetic friendly candy and low card bread, it’s surprising that places are still serving flavorless gelatin and rice cakes. Boarding in Taipei was chaos. They tried to form a line but didn’t manage it. So once the gate was opened, the line didn’t matter and everyone just mobbed to the front.

Certain flight crew member were rude and short with me when I asked questions.

I love to travel again and again in Emirates. Keep up the good work.

The stewardess took a picture as a gift , if you asked for it. Every thing was very good, Especially the food, big and tasty. The service was good, they served water several times, very frequent.

I liked the newer aircraft CRJ-550 since it had WIFI and the seats are more spacious.

Sadly I couldn't get the food I requested as it was out. Also, if you don't want to be woken up make sure the crew knows it. My wife was woken on every service.

Three meals on a single flight is disgusting. Even if I reject them all, sleeping is impossible and all that food (especially wasted food) is just antithetical to a pleasant flight experience. People were chucking multiple abandoned trays on the floor in front of my seat.

Similar to Hyd->Dubai this too was worst airlines. Bad seats, bad seating arrangement which created lot of confusion since family member were not given seat together. However most of them changed the seat and got with the family. Cheap tactics by Emirates.

The best ever, friendly and attentive cabin crew, amazing captains who utilised their expertise for less turbulence, just overall amazing

Overall I was quite pleased with the experience; the cleanliness; the polite and attentiveness of the cabin crew; and the delicious food options.

I would never have been able to make the transfer in time without asking for a wheelchair

Good food, real silverware, polite staff, smooth landing, charging plugs, good entertainment options.

When one asks for water because they are dehydrated, bring more then a sip or two in a small cup. Bring them a whole bottle.

Food could be better it was okay. Entertainment seems dated it was something but in this day and age could be a lot better.

I am thankful that I was able to fly using Asiana

The customer service was excellent. They noticed that our connecting flight was scheduled too closely for us to complete customs, so they changed the flight. Our initial flight was delayed, and they were able to get us on another flight, all without charging us any additional fees. I would fly them again anytime!

Better screens, it would have been nice to have more comfortable seats.

The aircraft was massive (A-380) and became crowded with 400+ passengers on board.

My luggage didn’t arrive with my flight. Flight was delayed by nearly 2 hours while we sat on the plane and I almost missed my connecting flight and subsequently missed the last train from the airport so it took me another 2 hours to get to my destination after arriving, Crew skipped me several times when offering beverages, and I couldn’t get their attention at times because they wouldn’t even make eye contact with me. They didn’t give me a form for disembarking so I had to go to the back of the line after waiting an eternity for immigration. Paid for on flight wi- fi that didn’t work for most of the flight.

Coming back to America was a peaceful flight everyone and everything was perfect

I had a bad experience coming from America to Thailand. On my connecting flight my check in suitcase was not put on the departing aircraft, I received my suitcase 24 hours after arriving in Bangkok and when I open my luggage my hand swelled up. The next morning when I put on an outfit from my suitcase my face swelled up and became numb. My entire vacation was ruined it seems that some kind of chemical was sprayed into suitcase and ruined my clothes and got me sick. The staff at my hotel called the airline and spoke to someone and they told me to file a complaint and gave my a website to do so. I did not file a complaint I felt like it would have fell on death ears. I had to throw away my brand new vacation clothes and suitcase and I had the worst vacation ever due to this happening to me.

The staff was courteous and the flight was very smooth. It was so nice to see the captain greeting the passengers at the end of the flights.

My only suggestion is a way to not be woken up for food. … like maybe something you can place on you if you’d prefer to miss food than be woken up

After each meal was served I didn't see any flight attendant offer coffee or tea to the passengers after the initial drinks were offered. Other flights I had been one it was standard procedure to offer hot drinks after the meal service.

It was great. It was my first time with Cathay Pacific and I really recommend.

Selected ovo lacto meal because I’m ok with milk products but not any meat. It was terrible. We had the same selection back in October when we had traveled and it was pretty good at that time. It was gross this time.

I was mid plane and they were already out of the main beef entree....ugh!

I didn't have much experience with Cathay Pacific airlines because of delay and missed connections, the bulk of the trip was on Japan Airlines.

Flight delayed first from bad weather, then after boarding there was a problem with the plane. We had to get off and onto another plane...connections were missed and the trip took an additional 10 hours!! Pre-paid seatting was not honored due ro last minute carrier changes. Most of the trip was on Japan Airline.

Vegetarian options should be included with every meal. Even just simple steamed vegetables and whole grains would capture a wide audience.

Cramped, hot and the plane was grubby. Also the plane was an hour late and it took an hour to get my luggage once I got to LAX.

Extensive delays, poor organization to board people, as it felt like chaos to get inside of the plane. No lines, everyone gathering together like a mayhem, very confusing. Passengers out of hand and rude, which is not the airlines fault. However, there should be rules, e.g., not letting one passenger take 2+ spots in the overhead bin.

Terrible airline... Originally, the flight was canceled and didn't receive a notification, had to learn from their twitter account... Rebooking was a huge pain... Every other airline like American and United did eventually fly a day later... The flight had a layover, no other airline needed one... India is such a weak nation globally, this airline has no leverage to negotiate good airspace... Flight left late, again no notifications as to why at the airport. On the plane, wifi is spotty, chargers don't work... The only saving grace used to be good food. Even that has gone down the drain. Just the worst!

Never ever travel with Air India is a very conscious promise made to myself. Poor customer service , irresponsible staff, pathetic operations and bad planes. Overall -0/10. Planes had mosquitoes in it.. i am still thinking what international standards of hygiene are they even following????. Operations team has no quality standards. They can route you anywhere on any plane inspite of a confirmed ticket and a web checkin… without your consent. Go for AirIndia if you love challenges and roller coasters and safety, time and hygiene is never your priority.

Food is good, staff is good... Wi-fi quality is poor, disembarkment after landing is atrocious.

Flight crew was lovely. Bathrooms should have been cleaner. The handsets in business class for watching the entertainment are horrible. Very difficult to figure out which buttons are for what. I managed to get the flight maps on my screen but it wasn't easy. Never got anything else up.

Uneventful trip. Good flight crew. Food could have been better and a bit more of it. Cabin cleanliness was ok.

Inflight Services are poor compared to other airlines. They do not offer even water during 15 hr flight. Food is little in portion and I had food poisoning after last meal ( rajma chawal)

Boarding at Mumbai airport was terrible, the staff had no idea how to handle it. It was chaos - and led to a delay

My seats that I paid for were changed last minute and I had to sit in uncomfortable chairs

This was a bery good experience as it was a newer plane . AI older plane bussiness class is bad .

What a pathetic plane it was. Entertainment system didn’t work. USB port was broken. There was a hole on top of folding serving table. Broken restrooms in the middle of flight.
