Cons: "I find the 777 SFO -> Tokyo, and Tokyo -> SFO cabin gets too warm when trying to sleep. With a warm blanket provided, I would suggest keeping the cabin a bit cooler and providing extra blankets if people need them. Also the movie selection on ANA is not nearly as comprehensive as what United provides on international flights."

Cons: "Four travelers were seated in 4 different areas on flight from Hong Kong to San Francisco flight. Three of us of us were senior citizens. Two had disabilities and were.not accommodated in any way by Cathay Pacific (CP) while loading in the four areas of the plane. Those of us that we're physically able could not help those with mobility issues because of the proximity of the seating, I could not pre-check or request different seats on the CP website. I think that this was because of issues with the website, apparently due to IT system communication between American Airlines and Cathay Pacific.......on all six flights. On the transfer in San Francisco, Customs was closed when we arrived in San Francisco and we had to haul all of our baggage from one terminal to the other. There was no direction on how to handle this issue of Customs being closed while on the flight to San Francisco. I had to explain the issue of to the CP customer service crew in SF. The CP desk and they had never heard of it. American Airlines was equally poorly trained. I will also say that while at the CP customer service, there were three young adult males that we're not busy at the time and the watched us unload the baggage carts onto the scales and conveyor and then reloaded on to the carts to push to the AA terminal. We handled the bags two additional times because the CP staff did not know what to do and how to handle it. Other passengers were confused as well. I traveled internationally to Asia three times now on CP and the first two were excellent. In the past had had flown other carriers on out trips to asia. This experience on this flight was beyond bad. I had plan on several more trips to Asia the next three years, and I will say that at this point, I will not fly CP again. Something needs to change. A call to me is in order. I witnessed several gaps in CP systems and other issues with training the staff. Your survey did not specify the flight crew. Except for the loading issues and the lack of information about Customs being.closed at SF, the service was world class...what I had come to expect from CP"

This is horrible experience since we had to check out all luggages, go through custom and then check in the bags again with all weighing problems. The worse is that to go from International terminal to United domestic counter, we had to pull the luggages along the curb from one end of the airport to the other side of it. We will never take this option again"

Prefer more quality food, even if i have to pay extra"

My wife & I had to carry all our carry on baggage since my mom was the only one allowed to board with him. All three previous flights the ground crew allowed all of us to stay as a family."

My back hurt and my knees were killing me because they have you crammed right up to the seats in front you so you feel like you are packed in a sardine can! And you will be in big trouble if you take a window seat and you need to go to the bathroom because then you must be a contortionist to get out of that seat when in flight and everyone has their seat reclined, just horrible!!!"

Cons: "Sometimes crewmembers were a little over rushed, skipping people for drinks and such, and not being particularly gracious when asked to back track (this didn't happen to me, but I witnessed it happening to others (East Indians, actually)). Economy is really cramped and awful for international flights. I wish I could afford better, but the step up in cost is beyond my budget. The food on this particular flight didn't seem as well prepared or presented as usual, but it was still ample serving and tasty enough."

Cons: "My original flight was canceled and switched to an earlier flight that I was not prepared to arrive on time for. After I paid the driver extra money to make the time the flight was delayed almost 3 hours and made me miss my connection from Hong Kong to Newark. I had to the spend the night in Hong Kong which was extremely expensive for both transportation and food and received no compensation for it. I also missed my train that I had booked and had to pay a price difference of 90 dollars for the change. This was one of the worst flights I've ever been on."

Cons: "There was literally a "crazy man" on our flight. The flight attendants were having a hard time controlling him. He was climbing over seats, yelling at people, etc. My husband is a US Marshall, he finally got up and identified himself with his badge to the flight attendants and asked if they would like him to assist. He helped try and talk the crazy man down. So basically my husband was on guard for the whole flight, we couldn't sleep at all as he was watching and helping with the lunatic on the plane. When we landed, the police escorted the man off the flight and the head attendant said he would be placed on Cathay's "no fly list" I feel that Cathay should reimburse us for part of the flight due to the severity of the situation and the fact that my husband assisted the staff when he didn't have too! Again, not a way to spend your honeymoon flight having your husband have to work and not be able to relax and enjoy our time together."

Most of the passengers, after clearing the immigration(which normally takes long), had to wait at the carousal for more than half hour to receive their luggages."

Once in Hong Kong we were assigned a hotel but it took 2 hours in a Taxi line then an hour to the hotel. I wad so tired i could only sleep at the hotel while resting to return to the airport the next day!"

Families with babies, couples, even ours (though the kids are old enough for me not to be truly worried as some were). Somehow reservations seems to have messed up an entire flight. We gave up trying to fix it for fear they would make it worse. Then the woman at the gate tried to get folks to volunteer to give up their seats on an overbooked flight. But she was screaming at us. Unbelievably unpleasant to be yelled at over and over again and told we could lose our seats. The poor weather likely caused flights to be rerouted into PHL so our flight out to SFO ended up 1/3 empty. FABULOUS. But the gate experience was horrible and the legroom, had it been a full flight, was miserable. I'm in search of an airline with a humane approach."

It was very hard for me to fall asleep because of how cold I was. Comfort is one of the main things I expect in a 4 plus hour flight."

Cons: "Pleane departed two hours and thirty minutes after original schedule because of operational and equipment problems. Plane wasn't even in Philadelphia unti 6:00 pm. The guy at boarding (unlike the boarding in SFO) called way too many groupss individually, First Class, Diamond, Premium, Gold, Priority. This led to many people being refused boarding and told to wait. In SF they simply call first class and then all the rest or the Aadvantage members together before the land boarding. Much faster and more efficeint. Even though the flight was full there less than 12 people in the Diamond, Premium, whatever classes. And the guy taking the boarding passes was a jerk. He actuallly seemed to take pleasure in telling people they couldn't board. Might not ever fly AA again. At least never from Philadelfphia."

I stuffed my arms in my shirt and let my hair down for warmth. Also, I learned my lesson. Pack my own blankie for comfort. I checked my carry on in Aruba due to overhead capacities. My bag had my sweatshirt and the blankie Delta bankie I acquired when I flew from SFO to ATL."

He had a warm smile the whole flight and helped me get an ice pack for my back when I was in pain. Every time he got something for someone he was smiling and happy which made me and my husband smile and happy. He should be recognized because he made our experience very enjoyable. I have never been on a flight where the service was constant, all of the flight attendants walked up and down the aisles throughout the flight making sure everyone was doing good. Typically, they go down the aisle with the service carts once and thats it, but they made sure everyone was taken care of for the whole flight. Thank you for the great flying experience after a long and tiring trip!! We were dreading the flight but the staff was great."
Cons: "Waiting in the Charlotte Airport for the flight to board was a bit irritating because the two girls that were supposed to call the sections for the flight were on their phones and not very present with what was going on. We boarded late and i am not sure if this is because the flight itself was late or they were just slow with the process.. The only thing I would complain about the flight itself is that we had to wait on our plane for about an hour after we landed. This, I know- has nothing to do with AA and the service/staff. I think this is something that SFO is responsible for, and I felt bad that people were taking it out on the crew."

In the end, we had to be rerouted to a different airport and take another connection, which in standard United style was delayed by yet another 4 hours. And upon arrival, all of our bags were lost, not unsurprisingly. The worst part was that for the next 4 days, no one knew where the bags were and we were without our checked bags for 5 days until they finally arrived. As an experienced traveler, this was the worst flight I had ever taken and will never fly United or Air canada ever again."

It worked most of the flight, but once I put it up after laying flat for 8 hours, it stopped working. Would not move from a straight upright position. Ridiculous! SO check to make sure your seats work before you take off!!"

China Southern employees at HAN wouldn’t move us to new flights and tried to tell us that we would make our layover in CAN despite this flight landing at 11:15 and our flight from CAN leaving at 10:05. We checked online and found there were no flights out of CAN to SFO until 24 hours later, yet there was a routing directly out of HAN. We told the employees it would be useless for them to fly us to CAN because we would be stuck there. They ignored us and told us it was fine and to fly to China. When we tried to explain, the employee simply walked away. We landed in CAN and were met with employees who first told us at 12:30pm flight to LAX the next day was booked full and they wanted us to wait 24 hours. When I told them that wasn’t true, they recanted and said “oh we can get you on the flight.” I asked for compensation since this was the second layover that was missed because of airline failure and a manager at the Transfer Desk told us he could not upgrade us to premium seating because all the seating was sold out. When we finally sat on the 12:30PM flight to LAX we found that not only did Economy have open seats, but so did premium seating. We were lied to by the manager at the Transfer Desk in CAN and when we explained the situation to flight attendants that we wanted one of the open seats they told us no. In addition, during our overnight stay in CAN due to China Southern employees at HAN not switching our routing, we were put in a hotel that smelled of smoke and had water stains in the room. We were woken up early to catch a shuttle back to the airport and when we arrived at the airport to ask for food vouchers to eat breakfast since our layover was longer than 12 hours, we were also told no. Overall I am completely dissatisfied with both flights on China Southern. I was lied to, cheated, and held up over 24 hours in China due to airline mistake and their unwillingness to book us new tickets. I spent hours at airports talking to airline employees and because of these hours spent we should be reimbursed for our flight."
