Pros: The gate crew made several announcements about face mask requirements.
Cons: Once boarding began, there was no attention paid to distancing guidelines. I never heard anyone being directly reprimanded or corrected for not wearing a mask or not covering their nose while boarding or walking around the cabin. I was very surprised to find out the flight was 100% full. Every seat was filled. I thought airlines were taking precautions to provide space for passengers by leaving some seats empty. I felt very unsafe flying in a 100% full flight where no control for masks was taking place. This was my first time flying during COVID and I had thought airlines were doing more to instill trust in customers to keep customers flying but I will not be flying again until COVID is over as I did not see precautions keeping customers safe.
Pros: Great crew and in-flight movies. Really nice airline.
Pros: The flight was great in every way except passenger adherence to mask wearing.
Cons: On a short flight, people do not need to be served beverages or snacks that require them to take off their masks.
Cons: First class seat broken wouldn’t recline. No food in first class? Cracker box not food.
Pros: Great crew
Cons: Frustrating having to wait over an hour to get to the gate
Pros: The male flight attendant was awesome. Didn't catch his name but he was super funny, witty and charming. The female flight attendant was equally wonderful. Just a wonderful crew. A great flight home after a perfect weekend getaway with a good friend who really needed it.
Cons: Not much, really. There wasn't a sink in the lavatory on that particular aircraft, I guess due to size or some tradeoff consideration. There was antiseptic lotion though. Not a huge deal. I'm always not too crazy about how coach airline seats are designed, so nothing great there either but that's par for the industry so I can't single Alaska out. It was pretty solid all around. I really like Alaska in general. Somehow my seat selection for my initial flight from Portland, OR to Oakland, CA got clobbered and I got reassigned to the last row and couldn't recline my seat back much at all, which was annoying seeing as I purchased me and my buddy's seats way in advance. I put some time and effort selecting two aisle seats next to each other so that we could shoot the breeze on the flight down which didn't get to happen, and his seat selection remainded intact somehow even though I was the one that bought the tickets, but I've already lodged a complaint about that so I shouldn't really go into that here. The flight back from Sacramento was tip top actually, so really no complaints. 9.5 out of 10.
Pros: Crew was pleasant & solicitous. My seat had spacious legroom & was comfortable
Cons: Free movies
Pros: The crew and seat were comfortable.I like Alaska airline. It was first time I used this airline.
Pros: The crew was good, boarding was on the right time. It was a good flight.
Cons: Only if there was free entertainment and free food.
Pros: Crew was great!
Cons: Ran out of some food items. (I should have ordered what I want d when I checked in for my flight.)
Cons: I will never fly Alaska airlines again.
Pros: When I arrived at check in I did the whole kiosk bit and got my boarding pass. I had a question so I spoke with the nice woman at the counter and she got me a roomier seat ( I’m 6ft all legs). It was actually a mini upgrade that included a free drink and snack. Free of charge. Do things like that even happen anymore? Considering I had just been through a death in my family and was mentally miserable ( she had no idea) she must have picked up on it. BEST FLIGHT IN YEARS. Thank you. Customer svc is everything.
Cons: Flight from PHL to PORTLAND delayed 3.5 hrs due to weather... ok that’s a safety thing. But then the pilots couldn’t fly us to Portland due to shift restrictions. Told us they had to stop in BOISE for fresh pilots and no one was leaving the plane. Got there and they made everyone get off the plane and take their belongings with them. Meanwhile since we already missed our connecting flight from Portland to Bellingham they rescheduled us from Portland to SEATTLE to Bellingham later that night but while stopped in Boise we managed to get on a flight directly to Seattle and our son picked us up there instead of Bellingham. We were told our checked bags would go to their tagged destination so we drove to Bellingham to collect them. Not so. Luggage is missing.
Cons: Went to ticket counter at 5:33 and talked with Tyler L, whose boss Jerry had instructed him to not let passengers check in after 5:30. The flight was at 6:10. Tyler smugly smiled while refusing to print a boarding pass, then was unable/uninterested in helping me rebook. I had gone through security and couldn't find boarding pass email. I went through checkin the night before but apparently it didn't finish. Talked with security about getting back to front of the line. I had 30 minutes to walk 600 ft and absolutely could have made that flight. Called 800 number to book a new flight.
Pros: Was one of the best flights I’ve had. Service was really good and enjoyed the complimentary cocktails
Pros: The crew were great, security at the airport took over an hour to get through so I arrived at the gate 10minsbefire takeoff. The crew were great in getting me on board and checking my luggage was still there t
Cons: They pack you in like sardines and we as customers are supposed to like this. The seating sucks, the leg room sucks. My Hawaiian flight was great, great customer service, seating and leg room was great. If I could have and should have flown Hawaiian instead of Alaska. I like Alaska Airlines but truely the plane I was on was old, crowded and hated the flight. Alaska could step up to the plate and provide a better experience. If I gauged my experience on Alaska through today's flight I would never fly them again. Really Alaska I know you can do better.
Pros: fruit tray...good seating..good movie
Cons: I didn't make it because the flight to LAX was late and despite being told by an Avianca employee there was a later flight from LAX to PDX (at 11:45 on AlaskaAir) which I would be put on, once I arrived I was told I was on a 6 AM on Delta with no arrangement to get me a hotel or anything. I bought a separate ticket on that 11:45 flight on Alaska Air to PDX instead. Extremely unhappy with this service and will never again use it. I will also tell everyone in my social circles, in person and online, to stop using it.
Pros: The attendant who helped me was extremely helpful in arranging for me to be on the next flight to Portland, out of San Jose. She called and arranged for a shuttle to pick me up in San Francisco and bring me to San Jose at no cost, and provided me with a flex ticket so that if I missed the next flight I could be on the subsequent one. (I did in fact make it -- just barely -- onto the 11:15 flight out of San Jose, so when all was said and done I landed in Portland about three hours later than originally planned. As it was a very short trip, I'm quite glad that I only lost the time that I did.) Thank you, Diane (Diana?), for all your help.
Cons: I had originally been scheduled for an 8:45 am flight out of San Francisco. As I was leaving for the airport at 6:30 I received a text saying that my flight had been delayed until 10:08. I ended up arriving at the airport around 9:00 and making it over to the service desk around 9:20, at which point I was told by one of the attendants that the flight had left at 9:18 and I should have been at the airport two hours early. There was no acknowledgment by this particular attendant that I had been given wrong information by the airline that had resulted in my missing the flight.
Pros: Well, since you're asking, what I truly liked and enjoyed was being able to sleep comfortably undisturbed on this early morning flight from blast off to splash down. Comfy seats, no yakity-yak seat neighbors, no pesky flight attendants waking me to offer coffee, and a tidy restroom when needed. Just a happy flight. There, is that 50 words?
Cons: What I don't like is having to tell you what I like and don't like about taking a trip on an airline. Suffice it to say, we made it and that is never a small accomplishment for which I am always genuinely grateful and appreciative to the pilots, the crew, the engineers and builders of these large metal tubes with wings that continually and mostly consistently manage to defy the laws of gravity by propelling groups of human beings across large stretches of land and over water. Why wouldn't I be happy?
Cons: We would have loved more of a meal during the flight.
Pros: Basically on time. I appreciated the Captain's extensive comments before flight about how it would be bumpy starting about mid-way and continuing to Portland.
Cons: My seat was changed so I changed it to as close to front as possible; they changed it back so I was unable to sit near my 2 colleagues who I was traveling with. Alaska changed our return flight to 2 hours earlier so we missed part of the conference we (3) were attending. I called about this and the rep gave me a song and self congratulatory dance about how they were meeting my needs! We booked the flight a month in advance and they changed it 2 days before. Guess where my seat was on the new flight? Yep, all the way in the back away from my team.
Pros: Usb port to charge your electronics!
Pros: Everything from the booking to the flight was fabulous. I couldn't be more pleased with how smoothly this flight went. I was traveling alone, so I was nervous about that until taking this flight. Every single staff member made sure I was feeling comfortable and very kind. In this same weekend, The plane is very roomy, and I took coach. I am 5 foot 9, so it's hard to find space for my legs. I did not have this problem at all, even with the person in front of me reclining their chair!! They have plugs for your charger for each individual seat, and the overhead lights don't blind you if your passenger buddy is using one and you're not. I love that!!! I will only use Alaska from here on out.
Cons: There was absolutely nothing wrong with this flight.
Pros: I love the upgrade option to Premium class and the snack box that comes with it is great! Staff was friendly and efficient.
Cons: Only one thing: when using the kiosk to get my boarding pass and upgrade, it doesn't specifically state to insert and quickly remove my credit card, so I'm waiting waiting waiting and nothing is happening and I start over and still nothing, so I go wait in line at the desk that solves problems only to learn that small detail and then the clerk said he couldn't take care of it for me and sent me back to the kiosk! What a pain! I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to. How hard is it to put clear instructions on the screen? please and thank you!
Pros: I was on medical emergency and stand by and gate agent in Hilo arranged trip to Honolulu on Hawaiian and on Alaska to Portland Oregon
Cons: Food could be better
Cons: Massive delay and arriving at 3 am
Pros: Found the crew to be friendly and relaxed. The plane was fairly new. Overall, it went fine as long as you understood it was going to be simple offerings.
Cons: Apparent aggressiveness to get as many carry on bags paid for by the ground staff measuring with a measuring tape all bags. I've never seen anything like it. My bag was fine. Then, when they started to take fees you had to come back and pay. It wasn't done right then. The ground staff was minimally helpful. Flight amenities or not, pay for headset and having more than 2 TV shows and 2 movies cost you an up charge even on an overseas flight. One choice for dinner.- pasta so it was vegetarian. Breakfast was a sad roll, one small piece of cheese and ham, and fruit that was that questionable. Overnight flight, pillow no blanket in Economy. Seats hard and leg room was tight. Their Economy plus and business looked a much better way to go.
Cons: The flight that I booked is from Omaha to Guangzhou, but you guys gave me the ticket shows that there has one stop by Canada, and I don't have the ETA so that the stuffs wouldn't let me get in the flight and I can't make my trip on time! I don't think that is my bad because as a customer YOU( this APP) should be able to let me know I need to get the ETA to support me stop by Canada before I book the ticket from YOU GUYS, and I don't know that, so that I can't get in the flight which is make me feels really tough! And I know that it is not just happen to me but also it happen to other people, there has some people has the same problem as I do, so I don't think you guys should do that! DO NOT sales us the ticket that can't let us get in the flight! As a public APP. You guys should make the notes when you sale the ticket, say" there has a one stop by Canada, IF U don't have ETA, pls don't book it!" Let the people know so that we won't get any trouble OK?!?!
Pros: -The tablet entertainment option was great since there was no inseat entertainment. The cost of of the tablet was cheap and allowed you access to everything, which is different from other airline a-la-carte purchasing of different entertainment. -Crew was great, food/beverage service was also great.
Cons: -At HNL there was poor signage to get from the rental car return to the airline. Once we got into the terminal it really wasn't clear if we should go left or right, We wound up asking an American employee where Alaska was. -After the checked bag agriculture inspection it was not clear that you go to the kiosks there right after the inspection. I think it partially wasn't clear because there were multiple large groups traveling with tons of luggage and you go straight to the kiosks and then back track to hand over your checked bag. The line for checking the bag vs needing help wasn't clear either. Luckily there were Alaska employee's there helping at the kiosks and with the bag checking so it did go smooth but could definitely be better.
Pros: Service was excellent as always. I was cold and reluctant to say anything. Seemed like lots were asking for hot drinks and bundled up so the stewardess asked the pilot to crank up the heat. (No one had requested this!) At that moment I realized, many of us are afraid due to recent things on the news. I am a frequent and long-term traveller so if I felt it, you can be sure others do too. It is an industry problem, not your fault, but Alaska has to address it. Even if people don't know that they are angry or afraid, they are going to be reactive--aggressive or passive and/or resistant.... I would encourage you to bring the issue to the surface and remind your travellers on every flight that they can expect excellent service, pleasant responsiveness. Say something or do something that gets at the idea that the Alaska staff is protective of each passenger. One idea would be to have the stewardess remind people of the call light and encourage passengers to use it if they have any questions or concerns, or come see them in the back when it is safe to leave the seat.
Pros: Loved the charging ports in premium economy;
Cons: didn't realize you needed a download for entertainment until I was on the plane, and no wifi from Hawaii, so that was a wash... maybe send an email or something to remind before the flight?
Pros: The prices were decent and the personnel at the airport check in counter were friendly and helpful. The flight was short but it was nice to have the seat-back chargers to recharge my phone.
Cons: The onboard crew seed a little stiff. They were very selective - the two flight attendants in first class & coach - with whom they greeted good morning / hello. I watched this from my seat in disappointment. I needed to ask for a seat extender as I'm currently recovering from surgery and needed a little room around the bandages and I had to ask several times even though there was not a lot of pre-flight activity. They were standing around in the aisle. I make note of this type of behavior because I fly frequently for work on a variety of airlines and this is my first experience with Alaska Air.
Pros: The customer service got us on the next available flight. Didn't charge us for our baggage (which they could have). Staff were helpful and realized that we were bone tired (after being awake for over 30 hours). Flight was easy. Crew was nice. Easy access to baggage when we got to PDX. I love Alaska Airlines!
Cons: Nothing. They got it all right.
Pros: My flight took off and landed at the correct airports.
Cons: Flew from Seattle to Reno. Originally booked on a flight from Seattle to Portland and Portland to Reno. After I checked in, I saw a direct flight to Reno, and Alaska was able to switch my flight for only $25, but failed to get my luggage on the correct flight (with over an hour before my flight left), so I still ended up waiting at the Reno airport for two hours until my originally ticketed flight came in with my bags. What would have been an awesome experience became a miserable one, with the bonus that I paid extra for the treatment.
Pros: Check in was very smooth and stress free. There was a representative available to assist with printing our bag tag and getting our agricultural tag for our bags. Boarding and take off were on time and arrival was early. The only negative is that my wife and I were unable to sit together on the flight. That being said we are impressed enough to consider becoming members of Alaskan Airlines.
Pros: The flight was OK except that they ran out of food to sell and apparently you could order ahead of time but at least for us in the back of the plane was nothing left.
Pros: What did I like about my flight?...Not much! Was not allowed to pick seat assignment during reservations.Called two days before returning for seat assignment...Told must do at airport day of. Arrived at airport 6 hours early day of and was assigned 31F (only32rows) tried to change as I really wanted near front, isle seat... was turned down but guy and wife in line behind me changed thier's from back to row 6.... I endured 31F surrounded by sick coughing, sniffing, snotty nosed, sneezing people and crying children for next 6 hours...I've been back almost a week and just now feeling well enough to venture out...I will never travel Alaska airlines if they won't give me an acceptable seat assignment... Hawaiian Airlines trip there was wonderful!
Pros: Ground and in flight crew was very friendly.
Cons: Flight was 4 hours late because of a suddent issue with the designated pilot's health but then they also gave me a good discount coupon.
Pros: Ticketing process was smooth and easy. Overall trip was without incident and very pleasant.
Cons: Alaska Air in-flight free tv is very limited. Would be nice if they adopted Southwest Airlines free live tv format along with real time trip tracker data made available to your viewing device.
Pros: Quick flight home
Cons: This flight ended up being delayed because of an overhead bin door that wouldn't latch. I understand the rules, but it took 1.5 hours for the mechanic to arrive and assess the situation. Consequently, I missed my flight to Reno from Portland. The airline paid for my hotel (thanks!) and I arrive home with my luggage the next day. Mostly this was an inconvenience, and all turned out well. Just annoying when the problem seemed so minor. The time frame was too long for most passengers to make connections.
Pros: As always, your staff were courteous, and professional. I appreciate how some flight attendants add personal flair to the safety briefings. Some would say it's unprofessional, but I think it is very valuable, because the more entertaining the attendants are, the more people pay attention to the safety briefing. I loved it. It also builds a trust relationship where passengers are more likely to follow instructions if there was an emergency.
Cons: I don't like paying $25 to check my luggage, and then see people checking their bags at the gate for free. I don't care for pretzels, so I wish there was another option for a complimentary snack. Not a huge deal, though.
Pros: Efficient and comfortable. I cannot rank food or entertainment as I slept this entire leg. The crew appeared to do a marvelous job jockeying passengers with all there carry-ons during the boarding process. Quite professional.
Pros: All real good price
Pros: I liked mostly everything. I sat near the back and there were multiple bathrooms. There was complimentary Starbucks coffee (regular and decaf). The flight attendants spoke clearly and were attentive to the you boy, probably 6, who was sitting next to me and was traveling alone. The seats were as comfortable as it gets on a plane and then bam! Surprise, the head rest bends on either side forming a protective cocoon so that your head doesn't slide forward constantly while you doze off. THAT was my favorite part about the flight. The pilots were ahead of schedule, the flight was smooth. Overall, awesome, comfortable flight.
Cons: The only thing that stuck out to me personally that I didn't like, were the food choices. The options were all finger foods. When I'm on a plane, I don't like multiple things on my seat back tray so an option that came in a bowl/on a plate and with a fork would have appealed to me more.
Cons: No entertainment, no food. you can have better service for the same price in another airline
Pros: Crew was very nice, it’s also nice to receive a warm meal.
Pros: Very good free food, which was very nice. Friendly, helpful attendants.
Cons: They had no earbuds so I couldn’t use the entertainment.
Cons: Food was very poor. No snacks.
Pros: Crew fine. No in cabin movies and super late prompts to download ap.
Cons: More gluten free options rather than chips and meat sticks
Pros: The crew were very nice and service was very good, the extra comfort seats have a lot of legroom which is great. Will definitely fly with Hawaiian again in the future.
Pros: Nothing to note
Cons: Seats were pretty uncomfortable and basic, crew had no idea what’s in the food they were handing out, there was no choice of what to eat except not to
Pros: The crew.
Cons: Comfort on a plane is always not so great.
Pros: The plane crew was excellent.
Cons: Honolulu boarding process confusing.
Pros: Food was okay
Cons: The airline nickel and dimed me like crazy. In flight entertainment was not included complementary. That is absurd for a 5+ hour flight. Blankets were $10. Etc.
Pros: Complimentary rum punch.
Cons: Didn’t know that we needed to download an app before the flight in order to have access to entertainment. Very slow baggage handling.
Pros: Everything was beautiful and great on return flight to PDX
Cons: Was so glad we were a full 2 hours early to very Busy airport checking in and dropping off golf clubs luggage. Friendly help just many people traveling Not really negative just warning not to be late
Pros: Extra comfort seats are nice
Cons: Breakfast food was all sugar, no substance. We were starving because we expected a meal, not a sugary snack
Cons: 30 min after takeoff from HNL the flight was turned around and landed back at HNL. We deplaned and sat in the waiting area for the next 5 hours and 50 min until another plane was available for us.
Pros: I loved the crew! They were so happy and upbeat. They were attentive and very honest. I appreciate that because sometimes I feel like crew won't say what's really going on to a passenger for what ever reason. It's just a psychology I guess. Not the case here. The woman who waited on me was sympathetic to my diet and had empathy for me. She also gave me a little extra of something they had to ration when first doing diner service. I thought that was sweet. Happy about the blanket provided and pillow
Cons: Why on earth would you only offer one choice for a meal??? I don't eat chicken. I feel bad for all the vegetarians and vegans on that flight. Hawaii is a healthy place and should be represented in the meal on the plane. The food was bland and for someone to who doesn't eat a lot of meat it was very disappointing. Furthermore, the fact that there was NO movie on the way there and the in flight entertainment wouldn't work on my computer was really disappointing. Then on the way back I had to pay to watch!? I'm fuming about this. I HATE that airlines are doing this. It is greedy and gross.
Cons: Liked everything
Pros: Entertainment was great. Crew was incredible
Cons: We were told a baggage belt had broke once we were all boarded in Honolulu. We sat on the plane for an hour in order for the crew to manually load luggage. Once we landed in San Diego around 11pm, the pilot informed us that the entire plane’s luggage indeed had NOT been loaded in that hour. Customer service informed us that shipment of our luggagewas not available until 2 days later or we could return back to the San Diego airport at Midnight the next day. The amount of costs my family have to incur due to this inconvenience between clothes, hygiene items and medicine is immense. Such a disappointment!
Pros: I had a great flight with Hawaiian. Food was great Movies were ok- I slept mostly Staff were friendly & polite I would always fly with them to Hawaii
Pros: I liked getting off the plane.
Cons: Same information as the above, Tried to change flight, and rebook, but could not get anyone to answer the phone. So had to book with another airline, so we can get home. So we paid twice to return home a day late. We would really like a credit or reimbursement for our return flight, since a natural disaster (road closed to airport) and no way to contact the airlines were the cause of our no show, which was this flight!
Cons: The 6 hour flight was a trial due to the uncomfortable seats. They are hard, flat and slippery. Next time I might consider dragging along a non-skid pad to sit on.
Pros: I flew first class on this trip so it was an awesome experience, especially with their seats that allow you to lay down.
Cons: Every time i try to use the hawaiiain air app it may work at home then when I switch networks on my iphone i get the blue page in the app saying "The page cannot be displayed". The few times i've flown with hawaiian (3 this year) each time i try to use the app at the airport it fails, so i have to print out my boarding pass. The ios hawaiian app is not even an app, it's like a slimmed down browser just displaying a web page formatted for a smartphone screen size. What a poor excuse of an app. Do you have an application department devoted to maintaining this app? If so they are horrible. Go look at the ios reviews of the app, i'm not the only one. I can't wait for more competition to come to hawaii against your flights. You folks won't do a thing until some alternative airlines come down.
Cons: I paid extra for a better seat, I don't have the slightest idea what my money went to. The my car seat and stroller the were checked were both visibly damaged and had pieces missing. Now I have to purchase a new car seat because my sons is no longer safe for him to ride in.
Pros: Hawaiian Airlines seems to be able to give comfortable seats with adequate leg room; and decent food (included in the price of the ticket) for the same price as everyone else. Why can't the other airlines do the same? The crew was stellar, as always. I can't say enough about Hawaiian. They are my airline of choice. I will always fly them if I possibly can.
Pros: Hawaiian provides clean planes and great, friendly service.
Pros: The crew does a fine job, and the airplane is comparably clean and comfortable. I fly a fair amount however and I am always disappointed to learn what is NOT included in my fare. The direct connection between where I was an where I wanted to be made the difference in this case.
Cons: I had a very hard time locating the correct ticketing counter. In fact, due to a lack of signs (Honolulu airport) I was in line for Australia before a person came and asked. It was poorly organized. I was disappointed to pay for my only bag (which was carry-on size and only needed to be checked due to a liquid I was bringing home). I was disappointed to learn that the only in-flight entertainment I had available without paying was short documentary films about Hawaiian Airlines or their staff's travels. On a five hour flight it is particularly frustrating to have so little available. My Delta flight by contrast offered multiple movie titles. In fact, I could have gotten another flight for less $ with more entertainment (but going to a different city).
Pros: Wonderful crew and they actually feed you and give you a complimentary glass of wine. It's nice to see airlines coming back to taking care of their passengers. The captain came on the speaker to let the passenger with a dog know he personally checked on their dog and reassure them all was well.
Cons: The movies are free on the window sides of coach but not in the middle yet both have the Same plane ticket fare. It seems unfair and unnecessary for an almost 6 hour flight.
Pros: Nothing was enjoyable the staff was rude and of zero help. the entire experience affirmed our decision to never use hawaiian airlines again.
Cons: No vegetarian food option. Asked for coffee, was given tea.
Pros: Nothing really.
Cons: There was a late gate change which sent passengers to the other side of the terminal and resulted in a 30 minute delay.
Pros: Service was fine.
Cons: Delay at Honolulu because they had tto repair something on the brakes.
Pros: Good in flight food and services.
Cons: How come hawaiian airlines, who continually advertised moana and hire they sponsor the movie, but they don't offer it?! I was really disappointed.
Pros: Comfortable, frequent drink service, actually served a meal.
Cons: I wish they had internet available; we came in 40 minutes early and being able to let my pick-up know would have been invaluable.
Pros: Airbus is more comfortable than Boeing in economy class; bit of extra foot room quite nice on long flight. Pleasant crew! Will look to fly again. Mahalo
Pros: The courteous flight attendance.
Cons: Food wasn't great but okay. At least they offered a meal which is nice on such a long flight.
Pros: SMS update about changing departure time allowing for adjustment of pre departure
Cons: >3h delay due to crew rest need
Pros: Some staff were pretty rude and it was on both flights, which was surprising.
Cons: Stood in line for 2 hours at Honolulu Airport to drop off bags. We had to be pulled out of the line as our flight was boarding and had to run to the gate. There was no time to eat or anything else. The flight attendants are not helpful nor do they smile much. I asked for something minor on two of the Hawaiian Airlines flight legs on my trip and was told they would come to my seat to see me. (One was for an extra blanket as I had cold air blowing on me and the other was to take my rubbish) They never did. I have never encountered this with any Airline before.
Pros: Meal service offered in coach. Crew was very professional.
Cons: Would prefer to have a United States carrier fly US planes (Boeing) not Airbus. One very positive step all airlines should take is to prevent the reclining of seat backs in coach. The space between rows is already very tight and becomes really uncomfortable when the seat in front of you is reclined.
Pros: It could have been the airport (Honolulu) or HA, but either way it was sheer chaos transferring from the inbound Auckland flight to the flight to Portland. We had to sit on the plane until customs was "ready for another group" and then there were at least 5 check points! We even had to go through security again and give up our newly purchased water bottles. We had to pick up our luggage and transport it to another drop point and no one there had a clue how the luggage was being organized - no surprise then that we arrived in Portland with 4/6 pieces of luggage. We were told it would be delivered to us - 2 days later still waiting. NOT impressed!
Cons: Purchased onboard entertainment option. Screen went blank after only half the flight. Flight attendant said she would reboot but did not work until 5 minutes before landing
Pros: Food was good! Hawaiian music and warm greetings got us in the vacation mood as soon as we boarded.
Cons: Free movies on a 6 hour cross ocean flight would have been much appreciated.
Pros: As above ...
Cons: Movie selection seemed kind of thin. My 'interactive' touch-screen video monitor was very user-unfriendly, requiring me to push quite hard and numerous times in order to make any selection. Finally got there but only after much repeated effort. Left a note on the monitor advising crew and/or maintenance of this malady, hoping they would provide a fix prior to further use. (Seat 20 G, Flight HA 26, on Sat. Sept. 24th)
Pros: I don't travel too often so when I took Hawaiian Airlines, I was pleasantly surprised that they serve a complimentary meal while on board. During my flight, they served chicken with white rice and mixed vegetables, a cookie for dessert and water. Oh, and a complimentary red or white wine to go with your dinner. Not too shabby! Great service by the flight attendants as well.
Cons: Even though I don't travel often, I feel like I've been on enough planes to know that free TV and movies are essential. Hawaiian Airlines lacked that feature. A few episodes or "series" that they had were interesting but not enough to keep me fully engaged. You had to pay for individual movies ($7.99) and even though it isn't a terrible price for a movie, I still wasn't willing to pay. If movies couldn't be free, then why not the regular TV shows? I think folks would have been okay with TV shows if the options were plentiful.
Pros: International cost nothing but Domestic cost money. No cash allowed. What business model is that?
Pros: Had a wonderful flight
Cons: The flight and the crew members
Pros: The extra comfort seat
Cons: The food
Pros: Staff were thoughtful and attentive at all times
Cons: The plane change in LA was confusing & not very clear.
Cons: Crew is overly aggressive when enforcing masking policies, to the point of making it feel like I was a prisoner on the flight.
Cons: There was a family with kids climbing all over the Sears. Would have been nice if the crew reigned then in a bit.
Cons: The social distancing, the cdc is recommending 6 ft but there are passengers directly behind and in grinning us and only one passenger seat empty between 2 people. With covid on the rise, how are you actually doing your party to take care of your customers.
Cons: Never flying with Delta again
Pros: Arrived in PDX 15-20 minutes early.
Cons: Social distancing on the seats
Pros: The crew and seats were both great
Cons: HAving live TV would have been great.
Pros: The two people who were in charge of boarding the plane were especially nice, efficient, and accommodating. I really really liked them.
Cons: The flight was too warm.
Cons: Food was terrible. Paid for first class, expected something better than coach. Our food choice was a ham sandwich, there were better choices but the crew took them for themselves so nothing left for the 1st class passengers. Similar situation on our eastbound flight the week earlier. I doubt if Delta knows or cares that this occurs. After paying more than twice the coach fare, we expect something better than a ham sandwich on a coast to coast flight.
Cons: More communication on the flight delay
Pros: Great entertainment
Cons: We just boarded pretty late for apparently no reason
Pros: Good crew, my seat did NOT recline.
Cons: Plane was somewhat crowded.
Cons: Vegan options
Pros: Just fine, beverage service was friendly.
Cons: The entertainment system was out the entire flight. The flight attendants were just talking to each other as we left, even when I tried to say thank you.
Cons: Seat assignment with Economy ticket.
Pros: The best
Cons: Again the boarding process took forever
Pros: Crew ok . Seat not so comfy
Pros: The crew was very friendly. Boarding was quick.
Cons: Seat size in Comfort+ was still cramped. The person sitting next to me(in the middle was a fairly large (height not weight) and his arms and shoulders were pretty much flowing into my seat( I sat by the window). Leg room of course was fine. Very cold draft coming from the airplane(window?)
Cons: Crew did not make passenger in front of me bring his seat back up for landing.
Pros: súper comfy and got a seat upgrade due to my status so i looove delta. always on time and super friendly staff awesome.!!!
Pros: Check in process & text updates were awesome!
Cons: My flight to PDX was quite bumpy so food and beverage service were impacted, which I totally understand. However, the fact that I was not served at all, does not sit well with me! They had to stop service with only a few rows left to go due to turbulence but rather it just being a delay in service, the flight attendants never came back to check on the customers they hadn’t served even when the seat belt lights turned off. I really enjoy flying Delta but not this time!
Cons: Change my seat when I was boarding. I already had my seat # assigned before boarding. Sat next to a man with a strong body odor. I came down with a sore throat last night so I was feeling pretty bad. Then to endure a long flight with that smell which made my trip very uncomfortable.
Pros: i likes that drinks were free
Cons: i shouldn’t have to pay for headphones
Pros: How does one describe spending 10+ hours in a metal tube approximately 18 feet wide at 30,000 feet with 300 of your closest friends breathing the same air while having the seat in front of you pushed back so you cannot adequately see the passenger monitor because it's too close to focus on as your knees are under your chin? Flying in "steerage" is not comfortable as humans get larger and airplane seats get squeezed smaller. Please unsqueeze! Cabin crew members were excellent. Other than that, Europe was great!
Cons: See other side.
Pros: On the fight back I had enough space; good service; fine food. Great trip. On the way to Amsterdam, I sat next to a very overweight woman and her body hung over my seat. I couldn't move around enough and I ended up with a trigger point problem which immobilized me for 3 days and kept me from sleeping at night. It was very disappointing, since this was a family visit trip.
Cons: See above!
Pros: Boarded quickly and we made up plenty of time when we were only 15 mins late for take off.
Cons: Baggage broke our baby stroller. Banged up, heavy deep scratches, and won’t lock properly nor will it release the brake phone portly where one wheel won’t unlock without much luck. Waiting to see how they correct this very expensive issue. And the vegan tapas option for food was not good at all. Ended up staying hungry for the duration of the flight. But my wife enjoyed her turkey sandwich.
Pros: The crew are very nice on both flights and they were very courteous the seats.T
Cons: The seats were not that comfortable.
Pros: Flight was on time; captain was clear and funny.
Pros: Everything was fine other then seating assignment
Cons: I was traveling with wife but was not able to seat with her. I was stuck in the middle of 2 of the worlds biggest plus sized people. Armrest was a constant struggle. Willing to pay more next time to avoid hassle.
Pros: Great ground staff and flight crew, except they should as warn and apologize regarding the limited gate as access so far from the check-in.
Cons: Signage is terrible. Delta sign out side is obscured as and too small. Construction is no excuse for the confusion. Delta is not readable on the overhead signs and airport is too dark at night. Everything is hard to find.
Pros: Great entertainment, comfortable seats.
Cons: Middle seat with zero chance to switch.
Pros: Wi-FI available (although I didn't use it)
Cons: No direct flight in the morning, so had to take two connecting flights, and leave home very early in the morning.
Pros: Good drinks and movie selection
Pros: We had terrible turbulence for probably 4 of the nearly 5 hour flight. The turbulence were the Pitts, but the plane, amenities, staff and amenities were top nothcj! Highly recommende Delta.
Cons: Bad turbulence
Pros: The boarding process was smooth, friendly staff.
Pros: everything except in flight internet.
Cons: Gogoinflight hasnt woked as it said it would on any flight on any airline for a year.
Cons: The fact they wasted two days of my trip with my son travelling from the U.S. to China because they didn't know about transit visa regulations. And so far they offered a 75 dollar voucher for participating merchants. Unacceptable
Cons: The flight got delayed by 3 hours or more. I missed my flight from LA to FL
Pros: Delta is the best airline to use because they care about you as a customer. They will do everything they can to make your flight as enjoyable as possible. I would not recommend any other airline to use but DELTA !!
Cons: Nothing to input. All was great.
Pros: It was a smooth ride and overall very enjoyable flight as the entertainment was very enjoyable and a lot to choose from
Cons: It was a smooth ride and overall very enjoyable flight as the entertainment was very enjoyable and a lot to choose from
Pros: Staff as always was very attentive and courteous. The board process proceeded smoothly and we were able to depart a few minutes early.
Cons: One attendant did display a slight level of un-professionalism after spilling a drink on my mom and not apologizing. I chalk it up to her embarrassment and she probably just forgot.
Pros: There were a lot of free movie options for a 6hour flight. The tv was new and had good definition. The food offered was quite substantial. The staff kept coming around with water and asking if there was anything else we needed. They gave free blankets. The lavatories were a little larger and more well lit than other airlines.
Cons: The seats did not recline for anyone on the plane.
Pros: Food was OK, ice cream at mid-flight was my favorite thing. I liked the choice of movies. Drinks are also good but why not include pure cranberry juice? It goes great with vodka.
Cons: Boarding is ridiculous. Everyone who is not some kind of VIP is asked to line up and is treated like cattle. 5-feet tall woman holds above her head a sign with the zone currently boarding. Nobody can hear or see anything. Why not use the big LCD displays at the gate??? In the plane they had to restart the computer system as some TVs were not working and it took longer than they said. Toilets were kind of stinky and I could smell them from my seat on row 26. Blankets are way too thin for the blasting AC.
Pros: crew was very respectful and kind
Cons: Flight was moved to a different gate, then delayed. We were given the absolute last seat in the plane that could not recline- not the seats I had selected before hand.
Pros: Attendants were cheerful and extremely courteous.
Cons: Legroom but that's because we can't afford 1st class. Hahahaha
Pros: Airplane was good, boarding was fast.
Cons: Did not have the fruit and cheese plate.
Pros: Entertainment is now free.
Cons: This was the fourth first class leg of our overall trip and the first three flights on Delta were great. The attendants were pleasant and even fun. I have allergies and requested a special meal on all legs. No problem on the first three flights. All attendants approached me to confirm my allergy and the special meal. They were very polite. But on this flight, the attendant didn't speak with me about it at all. She tried to give me the regular meal. When I explained I needed an allergy free meal (mind you this was first class), I was told I could not get it and got no apology or other accommodation. Her attitude was take it or leave it. I found this interesting since on two of the other flights an announcement was made about another passenger with an allergy to peanuts so no one could have them on the flights and the attendants were very concerned.
Pros: entertainment system included lots of good choices and free. Crew attentive and friendly. Fairly comfortable seating. Boarding was quick (with Delta Amex card). Several snack choices instead of just the old standby of pretzels.
Cons: Captain not at door to greet passengers as they left - usually a given.
Pros: On time and very smooth boarding
Cons: Service and media
Pros: Crew was good and mostly attentive.
Cons: Had to move seat three times because the audio/video didn’t work in my seat. Was very frustrating
Cons: Book seats together for parties traveling together.
Pros: Crew was friendly and nice
Cons: Absolutely no covid regulations in place, completely packed flight, boarding was horrendous everyone going in at once
Pros: Crew was good
Cons: Seating sucked, did I say sucked. Greed never give the customers that pay your bills better comfort and leg room. Greed greed greed. Scumbags
Cons: DO NOT FLY AMERICAN AIRLINES DURING A PANDEMIC. They were not keeping folks distanced from each other, they did not make sure that all the passengers had masks (I understand that people might take them off in flight briefly to drink etc but there were people that walked right on without masks on at all) The flight was FULL. They did a full drink/snack down the aisle thing ensuring that everyone packed into that small space would all be taking off their masks at the same time (if they still had it on in the first place). I did not feel safe at all.
Pros: waited for us. We were late from Yuma
Pros: Fast boarding
Cons: No real headrests on the seats. Not very comfortable.
Cons: The flight had an emergency oxygen failure an hour into the flight, so we had to turn around and go back to the departure city for 4 hours. Extremely annoying on an overnight flight.
Cons: The head phone jacks were loose so watching a movie was extremely difficult. The aisle is so small you can’t even walk down it without bumping people who are seated. It seemed like none of the crew wanted to be there.
Cons: The flight attendants were friendly, watched a movie, thanks for the ear buds to listen to the movie. There was a lot of turbulence but I feel our pilot managed it very well bringing us in safely and smoothly as possible. I can't think of anything that could have been improved on.
Pros: On Time Departure / Early Arrival. Pleasant Crew
Pros: The trip started off poorly with a day delay and rebooking hotel and car at final destination. Not to mention our final destination is San Antonio not Phoenix. We were not rebooked for a flight from PHX to SAT. But after a few hours we were finally booked. We didn’t really appreciate the 7 hour layover at 0100 in the morning and nowhere to get a meal or even coffee. However, the flight had the same crew from the night prior and they were excellent. The flight was open so we were able to get more leg room, less waiting time for the bathroom, and pretty much one on one service from our flight attendants. With all the struggle in the beginning, this particular flight was actually the best flight I have been on.
Cons: We were ok with the hotel and meal vouchers however, again, the only part of our itinerary looked at was the first flight, not the second into SAT. Had we not questioned the agent, we would have been stuck in PHX with no room, no car, and if we eventually would have gotten a flight, our reservations for car and hotel in SAT would have been cancelled and I would have been out $1700. I already lost money but it could have been worse. Basically, I am paying for a car and room that I am not currently in. Reimbursement for that would have been nice. Either way we will still travel using the travel service and this particular airline in the future.
Pros: Nice stewards
Cons: Gate agents crabbie
Pros: It was a safe flight back to the Phoenix thank you.
Cons: More ethical vegan options.
Cons: Inflight Wifi was spotty
Pros: Smallest seats of any airline I've recently traveled on
Cons: Cabin temperature
Cons: Need to have handheld device to watch entertainment. Terribly uncomfortable. Delay getting out of Dallas.
Pros: Comfortable seats, nice crew, decent entertainment.
Pros: The crew was great. No leg room, seats and isles were too narrow. Had a soggy turkey wrap both going to and coming from Honolulu. It was not what I expected from AA. Will not fly AA again on a long haul.
Pros: Overall good value for money for a Economy seat. The aircraft is of a recent make & model with the latest amenities on board. Crew is friendly & departure well on time.
Cons: Exit seats on row 12 are NOT exit seats although they are sold as such. They have regular leg room. Only the left must seat has more leg room as the row in front in that spot does not have 3 seats.
Cons: I had very bad emotions sickness from London to Dallas TX. After I got on the plane I asked one crew member if I have any chance to switch the seat to sit by the bathroom because I am very sick, but seems no one cares. They said there is nothing they can do and tell me to get back to my seat. The whole fight I was sick. It was a horrible no crews member were asked me how I felt. No crews member checked me if I were ok. I had fever and so sick. There were late. I never have any bad fight like this forever.
Pros: Crew was nice and professional.
Cons: Freezing, one hour wait on the tarmac before takeoff meant one hour delayed arrival. No TVs in seats, no meals on six hour flight.
Cons: Had terrible seats with no reclines and near the bathroom. They charge extra for better seats, they should offer something in return for below average seats.
Pros: The pilot was very apologetic about being delayed but we were able to catch the flight because it was delayed for about more than 2 hours.
Cons: It was cold in the beginning of the flight. We were delayed at the first flight and when we got to the gate there were no one available at the gate to check us in. We had to go to customer service to get on board.
Pros: Everything, crew, plane was clean, service was better than the previous international flight. Nont
Pros: I liked the way the Pilot (Captain) addressed the passengers before and after the flight.
Cons: The wait at the customer service counter in the terminal at LAX.
Pros: All went well
Pros: I like how quick and efficient the boarding and check in process was.
Cons: I just wish that if I paid a little more for seats I should get more comfortable and roomier seats is all. Don’t make the seats sit so upright.
Pros: Nothing. Had a family emergency
Cons: I had a family emergency and had to buy a ticket to Pittsburgh to get home instead of going to Portland.
Cons: American completely missed the mark. AA did not successfully change our reservation when the initial leg of our trip was delayed by an hour due to a fuel issue, which caused us to miss your connection in Chicago. Since American partners with Alaskan Airlines, American should have changed my reservations with regards to Alaska Airlines, but they failed to do that. I stood at the Alaskan Airlines counter as the plane left the gate with our empty seats because there was not a ticket. American Airlines did not change a reservation successfully and so although we had boarding passes with our names and seats and the flight number, the plane left without us. I was stranded and Seattle airport at midnight with a child and an infant with one diaper and one bottle left and it was a terrible experience with American Airlines. I do not recommend flying American they cannot get it together when problems happen with delays.
Cons: My luggage was inexplicably placed on a later flight which arrived an hour after my flight arrived.
Cons: Flight was overbooked
Cons: Agent at gate said overhead compartments were all full and no more room for any bag. So I had to check in my carry on luggage . To my surprise, there had many open space when I walked in the plane. The worst thing was my brand new suitcase was torn. I told the luggage agent the incident and she said they had no liability what so ever.
Cons: The flight was delayed little by little up to two hours then finally we board the plane, everyone is seated and then they cancel the flight.
Pros: Efficient boarding. Decent communication during delay of previous flight (delay of 4+ hours), friendly and helpful crew on the delayed flight.
Cons: Dirty plane. I had to clean my own seat with a wet wipe and some paper towels. Previous AA flight delayed by 4+ hours causing a missed connection.
Pros: Flight attendants were polite and friendly during beverage and snack service Seats were clean and recently reupholstered
Cons: Two people got removed from the flight for seemingly no particular reason prior to departure, and looked quite unhappy although there were no strong words. Very small seat pitch Long delays for maintenance and runway Annoying ads for AA credit card over the intercom prior to landing No USB ports
Pros: Comfortable first class seats for a regional airline, although no food or entertainment. Flight attendants were great, very friendly and they checked up on us often. On time departure and early arrival. American Airlines has always been great for me. Will be back
Cons: No food in first class, but it was only a 2 hr flight on a regional
Pros: Boarding was very quick, they called the groups quickly with no lag time in between.
Cons: I think this was the most cramped airplane I have been on. It was so uncomfortable and I would think that they would take this into consideration since it was a red eye flight.
Pros: The trip was on time and with no issues flying. I really enjoyed the ability to watch a movie...this was AWESOME!
Cons: Wow, the seating was VERY tight and I was happy for the TV screen in front of me to keep me busy. All the inflight interruptions on the movie I was watching.
Pros: All connections-smooth
Cons: There is no legroom in coach. I am six foot seven and my knees cram against the seat in front of me to the point my legs go numb.
Pros: Amazingly, the flight wasn't full and the stewardess let my wife, 2 month old son and me have the last row.
Cons: Entertainment on AA is sub-par
Pros: The crew was wonderful and movie selection was excellent. They did not provide headphones however. Boo.
Pros: Wrong airline, sent me to wrong gate, almost missed the flight. If I wasn't lucky enough to need a wheelchair, I would probably still be in Phx! Not happy at all, to say the least. I had to grease the palms of about 7 different wheelchair pushers. A bad day all around.
Cons: No room, small seats and no food
Pros: On schedule and met all my expectations.
Cons: No complaints.
Cons: No complaints.
Cons: Cleaner. On time
Pros: Everything happened as planed
Cons: Covid testing and requirements was stressful
Cons: Better snacks ...maybe nuts
Pros: The WiFi didn’t work although it would charge you’re credit card.
Pros: The plane had a nose problem so we had to wait for maintenance when we are a seated. Only took about 15 minutes for the okay and paperwork. That was amazing.
Cons: Passengers bringing their luggage on the plane when I had to pay $25.00 to check my bag. That is backwards. It also slows down on and off time.
Cons: Chicago O'Hare was a nightmare. Hugely crowded, flights kept getting moved to different gates so hundreds of people were milling around, or just standing around. Not enough room to line up to board. I will try to remember not to go through there again on a Friday evening. Disappointing also to have 4-hr flight without movie or entertainment.
Pros: Good trip and on time
Cons: United didn’t allow on-line check-in, wasting my time and theirs, forcing Basic Economy passengers to be checked in by a person. Won’t be flying United again.
Pros: The crew was friendly, and the flight time was an hour shorter than scheduled. But those are silver linings to real problems I encountered.
Cons: This flight was actually from Denver to Kona. There was 1.5 hour delay due to mechanical issue with plane, so we had to switch gates and planes. That wasn't so bad. What made it bad was an extra 45 minute delay because apparently maintenance forgot to sign off on the new plane. Also, the space below the seat for my feet and carry-on was unacceptable. All the aisle seats like mine had only half the space of the window seats for their feet. If you're in an aisle seat on that plane, it's impossible to fit anything but the size of a small purse under the seat in front of you. And the middle seat fares only a bit better. Finally, with 7 hours of flight time plus about an hour waiting to depart from gate on plane, the crew ignorantly decided to hand out the Hawaii form to fill out within 2 minutes of preparing to land. Many people didn't have time to fill out the form before being required to put tray tables up. Fortunately, these forms aren't as serious as going thru customs, but it's stupid to pass out the forms that late into the flight expecting people to complete them.
Pros: I liked that they provided blankets and complimentary drinks.
Cons: They didn’t provide entertainment properly, you needed to have the United app downloaded ahead of time if you wanted to see any movies. All food was made for purchase they did not offer any free food.
Cons: Except for this one male crew, the Asian women were mean/rude. I always try to fly with ANA or JAL to Hawaii and I thought my flight back was also ANA, but it was UA. Food and crew are ALWAYS better with ANA and JAL I wonder if UA crew have ever flown with ANA or JAL...
Cons: 1) a 5-hour flight to Honolulu was delayed for 6 hours due to mechanical problems, twice! First plane had issues and we had to change to another plane, found issues again before being taxied. Poor maintenance United! Are your planes even safe? 2) United first class is terrible! It isn’t even near first class standard with very tight seats and rude flight attendants. Absolutely zero service! No more United!
Pros: That I didn't get dragged off the plane and I landed alive.
Cons: Everything else.
Pros: Flight was on time. Everything went smooth for being in coach.
Pros: Great to get a low faire on a short notice.
Cons: Flight attendant was very stand offish and never smiled. Towards the end of the flight when I tried to give her an empty water bottle, she rudely said "No more trash." Not very friendly at all.
Cons: The gate changed, the United App did not update and we did not look at the flight status board upon arrival as we were relying on the United App. Ran all the way to the 'old' gate (90) only to realize b/c we heard something over the loudspeaker about a flight to Portland at Gate 60 (we had just landed from IAD right near that gate). Looked at the board and realized the gate had changed, had to run all the way back to the other gate and it wasn't boarding yet. When I mentioned all this to the gate agent, she told me i should have checked the board & refreshed my app...i refreshed my App 6 times and it still didn't update - i'm not an idiot but she made me feel like one. She had no sympathy and was not nice or helpful. When we got on the flight, realized it was empty and we were sitting WAY in the back when there were plenty of open seats, so we moved up thank God!
Pros: Excellent flight
Cons: At check in time being told I needed a eta visa to enter Canada!
Cons: The flight ran out of eggs so my breakfast was only fruit and a yogurt but honestly with that being the worst thing that happened I will take it.
Cons: The delay
Pros: Gate agent was nice and friendly.
Cons: The loading process is horrible as usual and by the time I got on board there were no overhead bins available for my bag. I had to go back four rows and really shove my bag into a bin--and my bag isn't ovesized. After leaving the gate, we sat on the tarmac for 45 minutes because there was some kind of incident in the back of the plane. Some of the crew headed to the back of the plane wearing latex gloves and later a passenger went into a lavatory to change his pants. I think someone threw up on the poor guy. What I didn't like was no one telling us why we weren't taking off, and no apology when we did! Later in the flight, I was asleep when the crew went up the aisle with a food cart and pinched my foot!
Pros: No delays, nice personnel and food pas OK but a little pricy.
Cons: Internet costing 8$ for an hour is way overpriced, no leg room, seats not really comfy, no meals provided during an 8 hour flight.
Pros: Lots of good movies to watch; inflight meal was pretty tasty.
Cons: Couldn't check in on line; couldn't get a seat at airport check in and had to get assigned at the gate. Understand that the flight was fully booked but still was a little uncomfortable as I couldn't get an aisle seat.
Cons: 1. The flights within the US and Canada was delayed. 2. The United Airline staff in San Francisco told me to pick up my luggage when I get to Seattle despite of the fact that my final destination was Vancouver. I questioned the staff about this ata this seemed odd, but he insisted that I pick up my luggage in Seattle. Upon arrival to Seattle I went to the baggage claim area to find out that my luggage was already put through to the connecting airline to Vancouver. This resulted in me having to go through a long line of passengers to do all of the security checks again to enter the international airport gates. This almost resulted in me missing my connecting flight to Vancouver. The only saving grace was that the flight was delayed by another hour. 3. Changes made on my connecting flights were only given to me during my check in at Auckland. My previous booking was Auckland -San Francisco - Portland - Vancouver. The boarding pass I was given in Auckland omitted Portland and was changed to Seattle. I was never informed about this by United Airlines. 4. United Airlines website NOT allowing me to log in using my e-mail.
Cons: The passenger in the seat next to mine rented a tablet from United and proceeded to spend the entire night playing games or watching movies -- he never turned it off the entire flight. The glare from the tablet made it impossible for me to sleep or even nap on the flight. I asked the fellow if he would mind dimming the screen but he told me that wasn't possible. If United could put dimmable screens on the tablets it would help create an environment conducive to sleep, which is what most passengers want on a redeye flight. Alternatively, privacy screens would cut down on the shared glare. As it was, the flight was a nightmare.
Pros: The crew onboard the United flights were very friendly and capable. Plus I downloaded the United app and was able to watch any show I could think of but Landed on Westworld, cause I can never catch-up.
Cons: Virtually no food included on an $800 dollar 5 hr flight. I even upgraded economy elite. In the equivalent range Alaskan gives a very nice fo-meal in a box. Finally, I arrived for my flight from San Luis Obispo an hour and 45 minutes early and stood in line to check my small bag for the first 45 minutes. At which point the desk agent made the announcement she would no longer take bags. Luckily my bag was small enough to be considered a carry on so I just went to security. I don't know what people with large bags behind me did? then it takes another 45 mins to get through security at which point they see my 5 inch knife on X-ray machine. Which I packed 3 days earlier when I planned to check my bag. Lost the knife, fine, my fault, goodbye favorite pocket knife. but now I am randomly selected for explosives LOL by TSA. I get to the gate the gate agent scans a ticket for the person infront of me. I step up and the same gate agent puts her hand over the scanner and says sorry it is late!? There were 6 other people behind me and this is a 22 person plane. So I still not upset walk back out of the security area because TSA closes the area in between flights and call United. They get me on the next flight out and rescheduled my following flight only a 3 hour wait. An hour goes by and the first desk agent, they have been holding the first flight because enough people aren't onboard. SLB is a joke.
Pros: We finally was able to get home after a long ordeal with customs, tsa and airlines.
Cons: Why are schedules so tight and then late which we had to go through long long lines at customs and tsa then run and miss our flight. Plane was there but they weren't let us on. Lufthansa put us up for the night. How do old people make their connections ...ask for wheelchair assistance?
Cons: Flight got cancelled, stuck for an extra day in Honolulu. United put me in a hotel for the night, but I have to check out at 11am and the new flight doesn't leave until 8:40pm. So now I'm just supposed to sit around the airport for 9 hours? Plus last night they told me all the other flights were full. But my girlfriend called this morning and also checked online and there was an earlier flight at 7am, that would have still got me to Denver tonight. and there WAS availability on it, but since I got different information from different people, time ran out and I couldn't get on that one. So I lose an entire day of my trip, and have to cancel the appointments I had scheduled in Denver for today. Plus the expense of having to find food in Honolulu for a day. So...yay united. Once again, you're awesome.
Cons: Being told that the United Wi-Fi was not working and then being told we could "Rent" tablets to watch movies on. They should have been free or very low-cost.
Pros: Comfortable seats and good service.
Cons: Not really flight related, but having the call buttons located on arm rests was terrible and interrupted sleep for everyone whenever someone's arm would bump a button and set it off.
Pros: The staff, especially the male flight attendant, watery knowledgeable, professional, and went out of husband way to make everyone satisfied.
Cons: The televisions breifly went out of service during my return trip from Denver to Des Moines. The issue was resolved promptly, but on such a short flight I was unable to use the service.
Cons: i paid to upgrade to economy plus, and was seated in the busiest door traffic area near the bathroom next to an obese man whose body literally melted over into my seat. it was the red eye and i slept only 5 minutes! also the flight attendant kept storming by back and forth for the entire flight, which made it absolutely impossible to fall asleep.
Pros: Window seat
Cons: Same experience on ANOTHER 8 hour flight I have NEVER flown on an international flight and NOT received a complimentary meal or two...When I'm flying for 8 hours. On top of that the seats were very small and uncomfortable. I shouldn't feel a person grabbing a magazine or pulling down a tray when I'm sitting in the seat in front of them. I couldn't consistently watch a show or movie for 3 minutes thanks to the wifi and or app on MY Samsung tablet....it's SO sad that you guys couldn't have them already installed like other airlines. This airline is already in hot water, I expected MUCH better customer service. I will do my best NOT to use them again and tell others to do the same.
Cons: Never got to do this flight because of the previous flight which is reviewed below: My seat was broken and wouldn't stay in upright position. This really pissed off the passenger behind me. Crew kept telling me to put my seat upright, I kept having to tell them the seat was broken. Old airplane with no in-seat entertainment. they advertise on the seat that you can watch all their entertainment content for free, but then you have to pay for wifi to watch so it's not free then, is it? Every movie or show requires "additional software" so you have to purchase internet to do the download. This is an 11 hour flight, I would have appreciated being able to watch a movie or something without forking out $30. Flight was delayed, so we were low on time to make our connection. I asked a flight attendant twice if we could get help deplaning early or at least get moved up some rows since we were in the very back of a 747 (there were plenty of vacant seats). They said no, and told us that customs would only take a minute and that the other united flight knew we'd be coming and would wait. I don't usually fly united; other airlines typically will actively take steps to help (like moving connecting passengers to the front shortly before landing) if they are the cause of the delay. Customs had only one agent working and we were pretty much last in line so that process took over an hour. Just moving us 10 rows forward before landing would have made all the difference because our connecting flight closed its doors and taxied for takeoff less than 5 minutes before we arrived. They had some united employees guiding and directing a couple of passengers that were going to be late for a connection to LAX, but no help for those of us connecting to portland. Customer service didn't even offer a verbal apology. Last time I flew with united, I also had a terrible experience for different reasons. I did not intend to fly united for this flight, but I purchased tickets through and for Lufthansa, and this flight was regrettably operated by united. Another thing I don't like - the food was horrendous. It was a breakfast sandwich that was advertised as "hot and fresh" on the packaging but was served straight from the refrigerator. I was in the middle seats with one person to my left and two people to my right. Everyone took only one bite and threw away the rest. Just don't bother serving the food if it's going to be that bad, it's very wasteful. I always appreciate a hot towelette after a long overnight flight. United offered no such thing which was a first for me. Regarding boarding: they called us all up to line up in boarding groups and then we had to stand in line for 65 minutes. I have a bad back and had to sit on the carpet to avoid being last in line and not having space for my carry on bag. Would have been nicer if they would have just let us sit in the chairs at the gate in comfort until they were ready to board.
Pros: The older planes of United Airlines could use some remodeling. The entertainment system with controls in the middle of the arm rest where the elbow rests is such a bad idea, didn't even bother with this crappy unintuitive system. It was annoying and flashy with bright advertisements or something popping up on a night time flight just sooooooo annoying, turning it off was not intuitive and had to ask the flight attendants how to turn it off during their very busy work of handing out packages with five miniature pretzels and drinks to the passengers, was happy to get a whole cab of juice to myself though.
Pros: The crew was courteous, the pilot was the best one out of the 4 flights I had taken that weekend.
Cons: We used to get more for our money. 20 minutes isn't enough time to use the restroom and find and eat food after hauling from one terminal to another on the light rail. Then we are given a mystery snack mix and a drink, I remember we used to get meal service for flights that long. Boarding was very confusing for people in groups 3, 4, & 5 as we were all grouped in one line. Group 3 was called and 4 & 5 tried to board. A simple PA saying that group 3 should be in line first would help the confusion. The lady performing the boarding call was rude. Saying "I don't care I will just take thier bags and check them, they don't have a choice". That's a great way to start an argument. Then the seat pitch is awful, I'm not the only person flying that is over 6ft tall. My knees were directly impacting the meal tray arms of the seat in front of me the entire flight. Shorter flights weren't bad, but sitting on the ramp waiting for takeoff for at least 30 minutes plus the flight time was pretty painful.
Pros: Despite the lack of entertainment options, the ability to upgrade to economy plus made my flight comfortable.
Cons: No entertainment on board, and you need a plugin installed on your mobile device to make their streaming service work, which I didn't have.
Cons: Upon approach we were suddenly deverted to Seattle. I had a few issues. Number one you could not hear the pilot so that made it worse. The lack of communication was horrible. I have been on flights when there has been clarity given a change in plans but this was bad. We sat at the gate for an hour and a half, again no real communication, the fligh attendant t hope was joking when he said there was a half a bottle left for the whole plane...much later we were served water. Announcements were made but no clarity. We were told to collect baggage at number 2. Get a voucher for a hotel. After deplann9ng about 25 of us stood in line at the customer service desk where there were two staff working slowly. Then after an hour they announced we were in the wrong place, couldn't that have been explained earlier? Once we made our way out of the terminal to the ticket count the line was all the way down the hall. still with little info we waited. We landed at the alternate airport at 945, at 130am I had my vouchers, the food not useful until the following day, the hotels were full, no one picked up the phone for the shuttle bus to the hotels. I finally elected to sleep at the airport on a bench. We had actually all been reassigned a flight on our same plane. So I am not sure why we had to wait in line all that time. Our bags were not removed from the plane an irritated baggage claim attendant told me. It was a mess. The flight the next morning was fine, short, without problems for me. united needs to work on its communications. It would have been helpful to have someone out side running the line giving out info. And at customer service they should have been paying attention to their line. Would have been helpful.
Cons: $660 in baggage fees for a military traveller who signed up with a U.S. Flag carrier. The whole purpose of choosing United was their baggage limits, instead its just a code-shared flight with ANA as the operator and I end up paying loads to bring home equipment. Will use a budget airline that is more upfront with their fees next time.
Cons: Bad cancellation policy. I would've been charged over $200 to cancel a single leg of my journey (no other changes or add'l flight). Would not do business with United again.
Pros: The crew was awesome very patient understanding and amazing, not having available entertainment like some of the other Airlines in the seat was not very satisfying to say the least
Cons: A group of passengers delayed our flight by bringing too many bags on board that were unable to be stored away. I hope the process of boarding and upset a lot of people
Cons: We paid extra to have seating together in an upgraded to business class. We paid an additional $89.00 each for this option on top of our airfare. When we got to the boarding gate and we were ready to have our ticket scanned we were told, "unfortunately, you two won't be able to be seated together, we had a seat change that affected your seating." then we were asked to go to the counter at the gate to see what could be done, but there was nothing that could be done, the flight was full. So our money was collected but due to the mess up on seating and loss of our $600.00 epi pen medication we didn't take the flight.
Cons: Terrible experience ever!!!!! Didn't get economy plus that I paid for, seats didn't recline and luggage got damaged and was not replaces or compensated for.
Pros: The plane was a newer version so we could watch movies up close and personal, although I'd prefer the option to stop or pause the movie and also to choose to watch whenever I feel like it, like on the Lufthansa planes... those are great! Many choices and full control to pause or start whenever one likes to...
Cons: One of the flight attendants wasn't the friendliest, a bit of a "humph" attitude...
Pros: United always is superior to other Airlines once up in the air
Cons: We flew standby and United had problems with their first flight to Portand from San Francisco causing an overbooking situation. This the second time this year I have experienced this problem We literally were the last two people on the flight and it was very stressful as were meeting other family members to drive up to Seattle.
Pros: We arrived, and were on time.
Cons: The following points would be totally ok for a 50 Minute business flight, but not to a 5.5h flight to Hawaii. - Luggage costs extra $25 per direction. This amounts to additional 10% of the total costs. Does anyone not take checked luggage to Hawaii? - The lunch was a savory snack. Really, because a sandwich is too expensive? - Entertainment needs to be purchased extra. Use your existing Directv subscription? Of course not. - Power socket underneath the seat - good idea. One that actually works? Oh wait.
Pros: The flight was smooth. And the wine was good.
Cons: I paid for 2 round trip tickets and because my son was not there for the first leg, they resold the seat. So they got my money and the other person's money for the same seat. I wanted both seats and paid for both seats. It is theft and should not be allowed. The flight attendant was extremely rude and dismissive. It is a poor practice. You could have at least asked first before rebooking the seat. At least have offered compensation or something. I probably would have said yes Anyway. It's the principle of the process being wrong to the consumer which only benefits the corporation.
Pros: Once again, no problems occurred on this flight. I was just glad that I was on my way back home.
Cons: I arrived at 4:58 AM and there was no coffee shop in the terminal 7 arrival area. I had to walk all the way to Delta airlines terminal 5 just to buy a cup of coffee. What. A. Shame.
