Cons: Our flight was delayed for 3 hours before they finally cancelled it. They wanted to put us on the earliest flight which is 24 hours later. It would’ve arrived in Mexico City around midnight. Our destination was Cancun. I asked the agent if there’s connecting flight to Cancun. They advised me to talk to their agent in Mexico City when I get there. Who does this? They send their passengers to Mexico City and let them fend for themselves in their connecting flight. And guess what there is no connecting flight at midnight! So they would let me spend the night in Mexico City airport and hopefully I can get on a fight to Cancun the next day. I finally was able to get another flight on a different airline. I called Interjet for money back. I was advised that the cancellation was the airports fault. The airport did not have parking for the plane. I then called the airport and was told that is not true. The airlines lease space for a gate. They would never say they don’t have space since they lease the space. If you want to get to your destination, don’t use Interjet!!!
Cons: Multiple bathroom facilities throughout flight very dirty, unclean, unsanitary. Bathroom deemed at back of plane was deemed “out of order” off limits because it was being used by AA staff. No issues with this but operable bathrooms should have been cleaned. Very nasty!
Pros: Got seated at row 2 so practically I was the first one to disembark. There's only one stewardess who took care of us and she did very well.
Cons: The plane is so small that I don't have above head compartment so I had to put all my stuff under seat in front and I don't have space to put my leg.
Pros: The only positive with this experience was the gate agent(s) superior customer service. That being said they were stuck with dealing with a complete failure of United to provide guidance as to how the airline was going to deal with a technical issue with the plane. The flight was scheduled for a 7:00 AM departure, from what I could tell the flight finally left Portland around 4:00 PM. Because of extenuating circumstances myself and my traveling companion cancelled our entire trip. Given such a poor start we were unwilling to trust that any proposed alternative would be any better. In other words United seriously dropped the ball. They not only owe an apology to their customers, but also owe one to their hard working" contract" employees.
Cons: Communication. As I explained to United customer service, I find it incredible that the airline industry has built a business plan based on the misguided supposition that everything they do will go according to a best a case scenario, yet they appear to not have much of a plan when things don't work that way. Second, the idea that they have no proactive system to deal with technical issues a smaller destination. There are no mechanics/technicians stationed at places like Portland. I don't know what it cost them to have a revenue producing aircraft sit on the ground for 18-20 hours, not to mention the labor costs incurred trying to redirect 100 or so passengers. It seems to me that those numbers would probably go a long way towards paying to have a mechanic(s) on duty. As an aside, I paid retail for two first class round trip tickets. Given the circumstance I would like to see United refund those ticket prices in full, then and only then, will I consider using their services again.
