Pros: "Nothing to like over other airlines"
Cons: "Hidden fees after booking. I pre paid for seat selections, the airline reassigned our seats right before boarding the plane."
Cons: "Anithi g"
Cons: "Our bags got lost"
Pros: "That it took me home!"
Cons: "Been on time"
Pros: "Crew was great, seats not so comfortable"
Cons: "Snacks,drink,larger tray table"
Pros: "The flight itself was a nice flight. The captain and first officer were communicative and the few times we experienced turbulence I felt like they immediately tried to minimize it. I had a good amount of room in my seat (I was not in an emergency exit row) and I had no problems with my luggage."
Cons: "There was a 2 hour delay to take off. When your flight is at 7am and you've woken up at 3:30 or 4 to get to the airport on time, it's a bit frustrating to wait an extra 2 hours to leave. The gate agents were woefully uninformed and when they did communicate with passengers it was vague and unhelpful. The gate agents kept referring to the need for "maintenance" on the aircraft. It doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence in the soundness of the plane to hear that the maintenance crew is trying to "fix something in the cockpit." The Departures monitors and my Kayak app were giving me delay updates before the gate agents were. At one point we switched gates (it was the gate directly across from the original gate) and I watched as passengers at one gate literally traded places with passengers at another gate because the flights had swapped gates. It was comical. Overall, just a disorganized, uninformative, frustrating mess."
Cons: "Seats were uncomfortable, tray was half the size of a normal one and they charge for carry ons"
Cons: "The fact i got stranded."
Cons: "The two receptionist at the Las Vegas gate D16 we very very very rude I will never fly frontier again"
Pros: "Low fare"
Cons: "Small seats no leg room"
Pros: "all staff were, very nice and polite to everyone and the plane was almost full"
Cons: "I was unable to download the ticket of my minor age 14 child so on arrival at the airport I told the bag check person he gave us a copy of our ticket for boarding as I showed him we had checked in already but could not see his ticket we were TSA pre checked went on to that area with line I went first using my app boarding pass but they would not let the child in saying his, ticket was not present checked TSA but it was when i checked him in,so we had to go through a 45 + min line a second time. very inconvenient almost making us late for flight."
Pros: "I thought the pilot was funny over the loud speakers, the crew was friendly."
Cons: "The seats were a little uncomfortable I was lucky to have the row to myself but couldn't stretch out because of the oddly placed arm rest."
Cons: "Flight delayed 2-1/2 hours, which I understood, the weather was horrible - BUT First the desk clerks were rude and as if people weren't irritated enough this didn't help Then the flight attendants were rude - all around miserable flight AND they charge for EVERYTHING - you may think you are getting a good deal on tickets, but you pay $40 for a checked bag, the same for a CARRY ON you pay for a decent seat they don't even give you peanuts without charging you I am done with Frontier - will never fly it again!"
Pros: "The flight was smooth and everyone was friendly n plane was clean"
Cons: "Someone took my bro Jordan red flip flops and we put them in the suitcase before we checked in are bags cause he changed into tennis shoes and put his sandals in his suitcase.. not happy that are bags wasn't safe ... wish I knew who to call to complain.."
Pros: "Got me where I wanted to go,"
Cons: "I am allergic to dogs and cats. This is a growing problem for me because it seems that the rules are looser and people keep a pet on their lap and service animals are increasing. There were two on board ( One not a service animal, the other one was) and I spoke to the gate agents who were mostly uninformed and unsympathetic . There is an overall lack luster with everything about FRONTIER and I get the no-frills / buy what you need concept, but there is no accommodation for people with serious allergy, and there is an increasing ability to get the certificate to have a service animal for just about any malady it seems. I respect the need for a service animal. However the passengers who have to sit in an airplane with recirculating air with dander are largely misunderstood. I asked to speak to a FRONTIER supervisor and there was no one to be seen and I got a stock answer from the gate agent in Orkando who was chewing gum so hard, it was difficult to have a conversation. Eventually I gave up my good seat to go further back from the animals who were seated up in front rows. That makes it worse when you have to pass by them to get back to your seat. And again, the gate agents were not helpful in getting me on the plane pre-boarded. Yes I take medication and sometimes I am OK and for the record, there is no truly "hypoallergic dog" for me. That is the excuse I also get. It is tough to live with when people around you do not understand . I was also recently deplaned on United airline because of this problem. I cannot stop flying it is always something now I have to worry about until I get to the gate. I do not wish it on anybody but if you had the reaction of welts itching and swelling it would be better understood as something that needed to be addressed by the airlines. Thank you for reading this long note."
Pros: "Hilarious flight crew- funniest intro and safety tutorial to date."
Cons: "The flight was so cold the entire time and the bathrooms were not kept up."
Pros: "the beginning price - maybe?"
Cons: "I got to the airport in Dallas 2 hours before my 6:55 flight, and at that very moment, received a text that the flight was delayed 3 hours. At that time, there was NO ONE at the Frontier check in to explain what was going on. I understand there was excessive wind in Denver, but there should have at least been a Frontier representative at the gate in Dallas. On my way home, again the flight was delayed by an hour because of something on a previous leg. Because of this, I am going to go with any other airline first. I think Frontier should either co-op with other airlines to get people to their destinations on time or have more planes.......or AT LEAST have someone at the gate to offer next day service or a voucher or a free snack or something. I also do not like the whole A LA CARTE theme with this airline and Spirit Air. I do not like that I was going to be charged for a coffee or a coke. The whole thing is too confusing, and I am going to pay more for an American, United or Southwest flight next time."
Cons: "First I bought a ticket from Spirit Airlines SFO to MCO for 309$, then I saw charges from frontier Airline, frontier airlines bought a ticket for me too for 287$, when I was just watching checking the price. Then I compared the tickets, both the time, but from Frontier Airlines was cheaper then I stayed with frontier and cancel the other reservation from Spirit Airlines the next day I see frontier airlines also cancelled that reservation and I had to rebook another ticket for 496$, the price went up, then I had to pay 187$ extra, IT WAS A FRAUD JOB FROM FRONTIER AIRLINES, I can prove everything above with the receipts and the dates on it, the worse experience I had"
Pros: "Nothing abt it"
Cons: "I have traveled many places and have NEVER encountered such horrible service in an airport as I did at your Orlando airport / Frontier counter. I checked hours before was in the airport and long lines an hour and 1/2 before flight leaving and due to your Frontier agents at this counter I was unable to board. This happen to more than one passenger in line with me. This agent continued to argue with me rolling her neck and head at me rather than get me to t gate with an available half hour before take off. There was vomit at the counter which they refused to call anyone to come and clean up but overall NO ONE was on task. I will dispute the extra charges I have incurred due to this fiasco and will NEVER fly Frontier Airlines again."
Pros: "cheap airfare compare to other major carriers.I'm 5 - 7' so legroom wasn't an issue but the rest of the party i traveled with needed more legroom."
Cons: "i had to pay for juice, i think it's absurd. I paid for my Seat and a checked baggage already which is fair to a point, but still, the apple juice was $2.99 for a tiny can. There were no reading materials except for the safety stuff. Carry on items should be included in the ticket price or at least $10 instead of just as much as the checked baggage. FA lady was abrasive."
Pros: "The flight was on time."
Cons: "The crew people at the Frontier check-in desk were very unhelpful and rude. We missed our flight because we arrived at the counter to check our bags past the cutoff time to be checked in by 1 minute (due to long lines). That was partially our fault but the representative who was helping us did absolutely nothing to help us problem solve and seemed almost pleased to tell us that she couldn't take our bags. I rarely see such bad customer service. I have heard that Frontier pays their staff very poorly compared to other airlines and I assume this is why the customer service reps are so jaded."
Pros: "Plane was on time and boarding was easy ."
Cons: "How unprofessional the crew was . Never heard the captain during turbulences . We took a red eye flight and the flight attendant kept waking us up to tell us to let us when the seat belt sign was on or off. Then on the way back , one of the flight was talking/ laughing so hard in the back that the whole plane could hear . And finally , we got to hear a long 5 minutes sales pitch about the new flights Spirit Airlines added . Seats don't recline ."
Cons: "We had already paid the luggage fee and just needed to drop off our bags for our MCO to DEN flight. It started with no curbside check-in. Incredibly poor service at ticketing/baggage check. A mass of people. No directions. Even employees (when asked, not one volunteered any information) didn't know which line was which. Only four people working the counter. And then the airline called for people leaving on a flight after ours and brought those passengers to the front of the line. When we got to the front of the line the employee's response was "You need to be here three hours before the flight." For a midweek domestic flight? ATA treated us like this once. They're long gone. Goodbye Frontier."
Pros: "Excellent value! Decent seat to sit in for 3.5hrs. I gave one star for food because I didn't buy any food that was offered, after all I was only on the plane for 4 hrs total. Smooth ride compared to other passenger reviews, my only other time in a plane was very rough@ landing@ O'Hare Chicago during bad weather, that pilot got a round of applause. I will look to use Frontier Airlines again if I ever fly anywhere."
Cons: "I would have liked internet access but there didn't seem to be any. I would have paid $5 more for WiFi. The seats are a bit cramped but for $50 I wasn't expecting barca-loungers. Since I have only flown once before in my life I was interested in hearing and understanding the safety instructions given by the flight attendant, but she spoke so fast that I (with some hearing loss) couldn't follow her words. I couldn't make much sense of the picture book instructions either because there were few words of actual direction."
Cons: "I never took this light, as it was supposed to be canceled because my departing flight was canceled due to rampant overbooking."
Cons: "I want to start by saying i am totally disappointed in this airline. I am currently in Orlando my flight was supposed to leave at 11:25am today. I have stood in 4 lines twice in lines that the attendent left to go socialize and one i waited for over an hour and than into a secound for well over an hour. I informed them i have a severely autistic son and needed to find a way home as soon as possible. Mind you while all of them watched my son go in and out of meltdowns countinually hitting me. Needless to say in spite of not getting a flight today and being told they can get me on the earliest flight on Thursday and they supply no lodging. No appology no nothing!!! In the midst of it all i met some angels. Ones that hung out and forgave my son for hitting them, let Mazi play with their ears and went looking for people to help us. I even had a woman come up to me and look for flights for me and my son and offered to write a check to get me and my son home. This same woman put $300.00 in my hand to help me. Her name Tracy Morgan from Florida! So inspite of the awful treatment from this airline i am blessed beyond mesure from the human heart of people I have never met and the love and kindness they shared with me and my son! Found a flight tomorrow thanks to my mom leaving at 8am from a different airline. The resort offered to let us stay for another night free of charge."
Pros: "I had no problems with the crew or employees at frontier."
Cons: "I was aware that this airline charged for carry-on's and beverages that other airline companies usually provide fee of charge. However, there were several other issues that I had that soured the experience for me. First of all, the seats were considerably less comfortable. The backs of the chairs were plastic, the try table was so small it might as well not have been there at all, and the leg room was terrible. On the way back there was a line of about 300 people at the Frontier desk to check baggage. I don't know if they simply did not staff appropriately, or if there were too many flights scheduled to take off around the same time, but I've never seen anything like it. They did attempt to fix the issue by pulling the people who had sooner flights to the front of the line, which I was thankful for or I would have certainly missed the flight. However, this could have been avoided by planning flights more appropriately, and certainly was not the most fair approach. Finally, we had to wait for about 45 minutes for our checked bag after the flight as well. This could have been the fault of the airport itself, but I've never had an issue with baggage at this airport before. Overall, I don't think the extra saving was worth it, and I'll likely be flying with a different airline in the future"
Pros: "And they charge for soft drinks and all luggage. All in all Frinyier is a expensive with all their charges as Delta without the better seats, free entertainment, and soft drinks. I won't use them again."
Pros: "Initially the cost of the airfare seemed too good to be true....we ended up paying $190 in addition to the cost of the tickets."
Cons: "1.Hidden costs - we have carry on luggage that ALL other airlines are fine with, but when we got to the gate to board they told us they weren't for carry on and had to pay and additional $60/piece($120 total) and threatened that we couldn't board if we didn't pay. Then they allowed us to carry them on and they fit easily in the overhead compartment. 2.Mass confusion boarding on the return flight. There were designated long lines, then other personnel would make changes to the lines confusing everyone even more. 3.We had our bags pre checked, our boarding passes printed the night before (as recommended by the airlines) to expedite the boarding process and we still had to stand in line with the other passengers who had not completed this ahead of time. It did not expedite anything for us. 4.Seats do not recline, very uncomfortable. 5. No vomit bags....we had a very turbulent decent and many people in need of sick bags. Many ended up vomiting into their personal bags!"
Cons: "They don't email links to checking online. But if you wait to check in at the airport you will be standing in line for a half hour. Though from the looks of the baggage check line, you will wait even longer if you do check in ahead of time."
Pros: "The efficiency of the boarding process. It was organized and fairly expedient."
Cons: "The exorbitant additional fees. Absolutely absurd to charge for a seat and carry-on luggage in addition to the plane ticket itself. My carry-on suitcase is HALF the size of the traditional size and paying $30 to bring it on the plane is insulting. The chairs were uncomfortable. They don't recline, no head rest, and no blankets were on board which made resting for my 5 hours across the country EXTREMELY uncomfortable. For all the extra fees you'd think a movie and some snack packs might be available. Then again, with the trays too small to fit even my mini iPad, there'd be no place to put them. No in-flight entertainment was a bummer too. I've usually been so happy on Frontier. Bit this experience will keep me from flying Frontier ever again."
Pros: "We were forced to wait 15 hours with one delay after another. With one excuse after another. My flight was scheduled for 1001 am. We did not board the plane on time. It was 1145 pm and I did not get to Cleveland at noon, no it was 3 o'clock am with no chance to rent a car to go home I had to call my daughter! And the best part was that my 75 year old wife had to endure this.they would not cancel the flight and allow me to take my wife to a hotle. There were parents with infants as well that was not happy. So to Hume it may concern You have lost several customers because of your failure to take care of your customers!"
Pros: "Nice staff and crew."
Cons: "On Frontier chairs don't go back. You have to pay for carry on (not including a purse or backpack) and check bags. If you want to guarantee you sit with your partner/friend you have to pay additiona fees at early check in. That's just straight up wrong."
Pros: "Flight was direct and smooth. Crew was nice."
Cons: "Most uncomfortable seats ever-and we paid an extra $45 per seat for extra legroom, hoping to be able to sleep-additional fees for everything, no beverage, snack or movie . Absolutely no frills. The seats are like molded plastic thrill ride seats with no padding. Awful."
Pros: "The fact that they charge for carry on luggage encourages people not to bring those over sized bags. So finally there is some room for your stuff."
Cons: "The fact that you find out after you booked that there is "NOTHING" included. You want to check a bag, "That cost extra" You want to bring a carry on bag, "That cost extra" You want to sit with your wife, "That cost extra" You want something to drink, "That cost extra" The worst part is that you have to pay extra for each flight separately. By the time you add all those "That cost extra" together, you can book a flight with an airline that at least serves you a cup of coffee during the flight."
Cons: "THE FLIGHT KEPT BEING DELAYED ALL DAY AND THEN IT WAS CANCELLED. PASSENGERS HAD TO SECURE OTHER FLIGHTS TO THEIR DESTINATIONS. SOME EVEN MISSED IMPORTANT EVENTS LIKE FUNERALS, CRUISES APPOINTMENTS, ETC. I WAS A DAY LATE FOR MY EVENT. I THINK WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD IMMEDIATELY SO WE COULD HAVE MADE OTHER ARRANGEMENTS EARLIER. I WAS NOT A HAPPY CAMPER AND WILL NOT CONSIDER FLYING FRONTIER IN THE FUTURE!!!!!!!! THAT WAS MY FIRST AND LAST TIME TO PURCHASE TRANSPORTATION FROM FRONTIER AIRLINES."
Pros: "I was transported safely from point A to B. That's about it."
Cons: "Check-in was atrocious as we watched the clerks migrate from one crisis to the next, and no TSA pre-check. WAITING at every stage of the flight. You would think a one-way would be simple, but no. An hour at the departure terminal, delayed in-air, then sitting on the taxiway for an hour and a half at the destination, followed by more waiting at the gate. The pilot's excuses didn't help any, clearly trying to avoid an onboard riot for a flight in which we waited longer on the ground than we flew in the air. We checked the board afterward to see if any other airlines' flights were delayed--nope, only Frontier, every one. It's clear what happens. They pay the least possible expense for airport services, and are then the lowest priority at every stage of operations, resulting in delays at every phase of flight. The most frustrating flight I've ever had that didn't include actual incompetence or bad weather."
Pros: "The crew, as always, were very polite and helpful and trying hard to make up for errors that were not their fault."
Cons: "My flight was 4 hours late taking off, which was blamed on weather amass although I fond this questionable after reviewing weather in the areaspam involved, I'll give them that. My flight on the way back was over 4 hours delayed for no reason that I could glean from speaking with representatives. We got no advanced notice even though the plane had not yet left a destination around 4 hours away. We were told a plane was coming from another airport and would be there by 6. The plane did not arrive until 9. No explanation. No compensation. Nothing."
Cons: "Very rude flight attendant."
Pros: "very efficient"
Cons: "seats wouldn't recline"
Pros: "The employees were nice."
Cons: "The line at the airport to drop off my luggage (which was prepaid) was crazy long as most people had not prepaid and some were trying to pay with cash (which Frontier does not accept). Even tho I had my boarding pass printed and luggage paid for I waited almost an hour in this line - and I arrived 2 hours 1/2 early. After arriving in Cincinnati the luggage took at least 40 minutes to arrive at the pick up point. On my outward bound trip to Orlando the luggage took over an hour to arrive at the luggage carousel. It seems that Frontier does not have a good rapport with the baggage handlers at the airports."
Cons: "O couldn't take the flight because the cost of my luggage exceeded the costed my fight & was not allowed to cancel for refund of any kind."
Pros: "On Friday, July 8, at DIA airport I waited almost an hour before someone took me to my gate A42 for Flight 122 supposedly departing at 8:10 and boarding at 7:35. Finally, I had to bring this to the attention of the ticket agent as I did not want to miss my flight. Noone came and the poor overworked worker took me at 7:45 -we did not arrive at the gate until 8 o'clock (luckily the TSA checkpoints were NOT busy) and had the flight been on time, I would probably have missed it. This gentleman asked repeatedly for assistance for over 40 minutes and no one came to his aid. I panicked and I want Corporate to know they need to hire adequate help so their customers are not treated like dirt. Once I boarded, the crew was fabulous! However, I am not happy about such a horrible experience. I deserve a refund or free return ticket for my inconvenience. I have flown other airlines and have never had such a negative experience with wheelchair assistance!!!"
Cons: "You all charge piece meal for everything; yet you don't hire enough people - I bet Corporate executives are getting their fair share!"
Pros: "The ontime schedule of the flight which went well"
Pros: "Absolutely nothing."
Cons: "The website was down when I was trying to check in online, so I had to pay $40 per bag instead of $30. it was still down a week later when I was returning home, so I called the contact number to pay for my bags, which took half hour. They do not provide free beverages, you must pay $1.99 for a soda or water. They nickel and dime you to death. The seats were extremely uncomfortable and do not recline. Worst airline I have ever experienced, and I have flown over 100 times. Skip Frontier and pay the additional cost for a better airline, or you will have regrets!"
Pros: "The flight landed early."
Cons: "We spent 15 minutes taxi-ing off and on the runway. Baggage was sent out 27 minutes after passengers left the aircraft. My seat was at the end of the aircraft, and I had to pay extra for that, and had sticky gum all over it. When I told the flight attendant, she said, oh no, really? The flight attendant did nothing to help me be reaseated or clean my seat. After a passenger vomited, the flight attendant did not help the passenger by providing anything to cleanup. The aircraft stank of vomit as we sat in the runway for 15 minutes. The flight attendants woke me up to sell their credit card, but not to provide refreshments/water. The announcements went on for over 10 munutes. My seat was surrounded by screaming and crying infants and nothing was done to help those mothers calm their children down. The seats had very little leg room for anyone my height and taller (5'9"), despite having to pay for the seat. I will not fly Frontier ever again. The upfront low price doesn't reflect the baggage, carry-on, and seat add-on fees, so it's very deceiving."
Cons: "You are charged extra for seats when checking in and you pay for carry ons as well. You also pay for drinks, ex. soft drinks, coffee, tea. You may get a great rate but then you are charged for everything else. Seats are not very comfortable and tray tables are the size of a mini iPad. No inflight movie."
Pros: "The cabin was clean, and the staff was friendly."
Cons: "I was disappointed in the surprise costs of luggage. I packed everything in a carryon so that I wouldn't have to pay for a check bag, but turns out a carry on costs $40 at check in. I understand it was a cheap flight, but I may have made a different decision if I knew there was an extra hidden cost of $80 round trip. On other notes, on the first flight of my two, the plane was swerving back and forth on takeoff and landing. The weather was fine, and I've flown plenty enough to know this wasn't normal. My second flight was fine. It was on the same plane, but the crew changed, so I guess it was pilot causing it to be this way? The seats were uncomfortable in coach for long periods of time compared to other airlines, and did not recline."
Pros: "The best part about the flight was when we landed in Dallas."
Cons: "The most uncomfortable flight I have ever been on. The seats were very hard and could not adjust. There was no information about the flight provided at any time during the flight except for when we were preparing to land. Compared to American Airlines (which we flew with on our way to Denver), Frontier has no comparison. There was absolutely no entertainment provided, and there were additional costs and fees at every turn. Not only do they charge for any and all refreshments, they also charge you to have a carry-on bag. The flight was also very very loud. The cabin rattled and roared for the entire hour and a half flight. We will not be flying Frontier again unless some major upgrades are made."
Cons: "Extra costs for picking a seat once I checked in online was not something I felt should happen."
Cons: "1. Flight was delayed multiple times,. Was supposed to leave at 10:17AM and didn't leave until 2:30PM. 2. I was directed to different gates by Spirit employees who should have known (or should have known how to find out) where the new gate was. Very confusing. 3. Flight crew told us that our plane was continuing on to Denver (my final destination.) After the other passengers had exited, a flight attendant made an announcement that we had to vacate the plane due to the crew change. I exited the plane. While I was in the airport restroom, the gate attendant made a garbled announcement that my flight was shifting gates. When I got back to the gate, the attendant told me that we were on a new plane leaving from a different gate. I had to run from gate 34 to gate 18, and was the last one to board. It would have been better we were told to go to the new gate before we exited."
Cons: "Too many delays... delay at boarding, delay on tarmac before takeoff, delay after landing because gate was occupied, and delay with jet bridge"
Pros: "The staff was great and timing almost perfect."
Cons: "No leg room and very small windows."
Pros: "The crew was so professional. I will definitely use Spirit again. My first flight ever on Spirit."
Pros: "The ticket agent put my family together, even though Spirit would have made us pay extra to sit together."
Cons: "We didn’t have a window on the last row of the plane. Why even have seats there? When the flight attendant moved the family on the other side of the aisle to a row with a window, my son and I got up to move into their seats, so we could give the poor guy in the corner (without a window) more room. She said no, because “we have to keep the last row open for emergencies”. Really? Then why was it booked to begin with? Tiny seats, flight attendants who don’t understand service, and not so much as a free drink of water after giving up our water at security. I’m not impressed."
Pros: "If you want to arrive to your destination at all don't take spirit! They over booked their flight, then said it was delayed and told myself and 10 other people that we were SOL. My bag made it to my destination but I did not and I was told I would just have to figure it out. The poor couple in front of me were going to their daughter wedding in the am and there were no other flights for them to take."
Cons: "I'm glad this was a learning experience and will never deal with this company ever again!"
Pros: "The seats were wider and more comfortable."
Cons: "The flight was delayed due to a change of the plane."
Pros: "Flight was early to on time, upgraded to large seats in front so we had plenty of room. Crew was very nice"
Cons: "No refreshments given out during flight....."
Pros: "Flight was on time"
Cons: "My duffle bag was considered a carryon and had to pay 65 going and coming back. Not flying this airline anymore. Last time I flew it was free."
Pros: "Crew was friendly."
Cons: "Seats are horribly uncomfortable. Bag fees are exorbitant and unclear until you get there."
Cons: "They wouldn't let the charge be cancelled"
Pros: "An airport attendant, Alfonso, was wonderfully helpful and friendly. He took good care of me, as I was needing wheelchair assistance."
Cons: "When we arrived, I needed wheelchair assistance. I was picked up on the gangplank, and taken to the gate across from our arrival and LEFT THERE. No offers of help after that. I had a 3 hour layover, and finally Alfonso asked if I needed additional assistance. No one else was I interested in helping me get to food or a restroom. During the course of my layover, I heard over 6 flights have gate changes. Ours also was changed...at the time we should've been boarding. No explanation or apology for inconvenience. And again, I was LEFT THERE with no assistance. I finally flagged someone down to get a wheelchair and take me to the new gate, where I was LEFT AGAIN. I finally got up and walked to a restroom in my own (in great pain). The info for our flight remained on the screen at the old gate, with no mention of a gate change, and the new gate had NO information posted about our flight anywhere...which led to a great deal of confusion, chaos, and angry patrons. The gate change also caused us to board 30 min late. The Spirit employees were hard to find (laughing and hanging out in a closed-off area behind the desk). They were not friendly, helpful, or even understanding about the situation. I asked to be the last one on the plane (needing wheelchair assistance), and was told no, with no kindness or explanation. The flight attendants on this flight were not any better than the ines in the flight before...only w/o the funny commentary. And, another long flight with no entertainment, comfort, or friendly assistance. When we arrived at DFW, there were storms (that would've been avoided if we had left Orlando in time) that kept us in a holding pattern for an hour and a half ON TOP of a two and a half hour flight. The flight attendants used this time as a way to make MORE money for the airline by charging money for any food/drinks during this time...even water. We were on that cramped plane for 5 HOURS and were still having to pay for water. This was one of my WORST airline experiences in over 40 years of flying."
Pros: "Smooth flight"
Cons: "No complimentary drinks"
Pros: "Fast boarding"
Cons: "Uncomfortable seats"
Cons: "Please reconsider carry on baggage fees. This will change everything negative out there about Spirit."
Pros: "On time."
Cons: "No water or snacks. And baggage fees are very high."
Cons: "Flight was just delaid 4 1/2 hours. The fuel truck that we were waiting for broke down that was another long wait. The air conditioning on the rear of the plain didn't work, and when a few people became overwhelmed withe the heat, and asked for water....they had to purchase the water. One flight attendant was RUDE non caring and just nasty. Wish I had her name!!!! People were also upgraded to bigger seats with out paying. I PAID FOR A BIG SEAT AND IT WOULDN'T EVEN RECLINE!!! SO UN FAIR.......IF YOU DONT SPEAK ENGLISH OR KNOW SOMEONE AT THE CHECK IN COUNTER YOU GET FREE BIG SEATS AND WHATEVER ELSE!! Oh yea, other airlines checked bags weight limit is 50lb yours is 40. Didn't know that, I had to unpack and take stuff out. Why? You already charge $50. to check a bag, CRAZY. THEY CAN'T FIND MY GLASSES EITHER... WORST FLIGHT EVER!!!!!!"
Cons: "Hours worth of delays. Didn't bother to make up for the trouble. It was a mess. With zero explanation as to why the flight was delayed in the first place. Last time flying with spirit. But hey you get what you pay for."
Pros: "Nothing. We were treated like Idiots."
Cons: "They wanted to charge for everything we had, including the purse that my companion was carrying. I found out later that our backpacks and purse were under their posted "Guidelines." When she told us that the baggage fees would be almost $400 for the two of us, I said "You are insane." and we rented a car and drove 15 hours instead... with car rental and gas and hotel, we still spent less than the baggage fees! When I called Spirit to complain. I was told that the gate agent was trying to overcharge us, but that there was nothing that could be done. They would not refund the cost of the tickets (Only $144) or offer any travel credit. I will never use Spirit Air"
Cons: "I was unable to make my flight due to a automated people tram that unfortunately closed my gate."
Pros: "Crew and over ok"
Cons: "No wi-fi. My whole family was disappointed."
Cons: "Did'nt like the extra $100 for checked bag fee while other airline charge only $50"
Pros: "Crew very nice"
Cons: "No courtesy with food, everything for sale even for the kids."
Pros: "Very funny flight crew."
Cons: "The seats do not recline! Zero free food offered. Everything costs money, even water. No tv's."
Pros: "Flight on time, attendants very nice."
Cons: "I hate what they charge for baggage. $50 for check-in and $55 for carry on. Ridiculous!"
Cons: "Kept getting late emails about different, changing departure times. Ended up missing my flight. Very inconvenient."
Cons: "Complete joke of informing us of the delays. Plan finally lands and the crew clocks out. Never flying this airline again."
Cons: "My luggage was not delivered in a timely manner. About 90% of the luggage was handed out, but 10 % of the people didn't get their luggage. I was one of them. I only received one piece of luggage and we had to wait an additional 20 minutes after going to the Spirit office to report our missing luggage."
Pros: "The flight was delayed and that was disappointing"
Pros: "Base ticket price Efficient crew"
Cons: "Hidden cost - $220 to check bags 40 minute wait to get final bag Attendant should go personally address passengers not seated for landing instead of yelling at whole plane over PA system"
Pros: "Boarding and seats were fine."
Cons: "I didn't like having to pay for luggage both ways. I also don't like being charged for food. It looked like the cheapest flight but in the long run we spent more."
Cons: "They didn't even serve water for us. The cost was $3. Unbelievable"
Cons: "I will never fly spirit again"
Cons: "The seats were very uncomfortable"
Cons: "Over $260 in baggage fees for 2 bags. Not being able to buy the bags before we got to the gate. Rudeness of customer service. Lost bags that I am still waiting for."
Pros: "Boarding and exiting were somewhat rapid. Got my bag rapidly at Lax. But...."
Cons: "This is the worst carrier I have ever flown. I will never never fly them again. I'm not sure what there business model is: "fly us once, then you'll know to never fly us again?" Are there ever repeat spirit customers? So strange. I get the bare fare concept, but who flys with no luggage at at? The nit picking things. Money for this, money for that. I just sucks. If you read this, save yourself the trouble. I flew them once, will never again. It was so terrible and uncomfortable I don't have the time to list out all of the shortcoming. I would avoid them at all costs, you can always drive."
Cons: "Was not aware of their 40 lb limit on checked luggage. Had to pay over $80 to check my 47 lb bag. I would have flow in a different airline had I know this."
Cons: "Very little leg room"
Pros: "The crew was helpful and very nice at all times. The plane was clean and relatively new. Price was great, considering that I paid $96 for two passengers total, with taxes."
Cons: "Some of the passenger's attitude was not the right one. The prices for check bags, was a little inthehigh side."
Pros: "I was able to get a cheaper price with spirit."
Cons: "I didn't know the drinks, snacks, and luggage cost extra until after I booked. But after learning that was kind of spirits "thing" it wasn't so bad. I would definitely fly spirit again on a shorter trip where minimal luggage is needed."
Cons: "I thought the pricing was a little bit high for luggage. Although I got a cheeper flight through spirit initially, I paid about the same price as any other airline would have cost by the time I added in my bag and reserving my seat."
Pros: "Crew was very entertaining - a la Southwest Airlines but funnier. One of the crew noted that I had taken out my medication and immediately brought me water."
Cons: "Seats don't recline so there is zero relief/change in body position - making a short trip much longer. Suffered leg cramps. Short trip so luggage was not an issue but in the past I have been literally tapped out by the "additional fees" on baggage over 40(??)lbs."
Cons: "Had to pay two separate $50 fees for my one bag. Three plus hour delay without explanation combined with two other delayed planes at our gate, again, without explanation. Couldn't use the bathroom until 16,000 feet in the air. Steward and Stewardess spent three hours laughing it up in the back at an incredibly high volume and after midnight when the rest of us were trying to sleep. Stewardess took 20 minutes, not exaggerating, to explain the benefits of the Spirit credit card and how often her son and his girlfriend use the miles they get from it. Can't incline the seats."
Cons: "Plane was late taking off and I had a connecting flight."
Pros: "No complain from me what so ever, it was good, except a little delay."
Cons: "being ripped off"
Pros: "For a short flight there's nothing to complain about. You have to pay for any amenities but the base rate is great and I had no problems with the flight or the crew who were super friendly."
Cons: "The seats are a little too straight up and down so it's hard to sleep."
Cons: "I was extremely irritated from the beginning of my experience with Spirit airlines. Starting with the layout of the website after receiving my itinerary, I had not realized that checking your bags online would save you a lot of money. I feel as though it wasn't properly advertised and therefore I overlooked it, as I haven't had any experience like this with any other airline. After checking in and printing my boarding pass and eventually figuring out the confusing website ( with no actual customer service number to call and speak to a live representative) I realized I had gone too far, and could no longer add my bags to my account on the website and therefore had to pay $50 for a checked bag? No thanks. Never again. It was the attendant that checked my bag in for me that made it worse by not accommodating the fact that I hadn't properly understood the way that this airline does their business, and just rudely looked at me and said " Yeah $50 for your bag, debit or credit?" .. Excuse me? I was baffled. I have never paid the much for a bag in any of my prior experiences traveling and I was just all around annoyed with the experience in general. I felt scammed, played and it just really ended my amazing time with my family during the holidays poorly. I'll never fly Spirit Airlines again I will definitely make it a point to let anyone I know not to do the same."
Cons: "The seats were uncomfortable and tiny and the employees were very rude at the counter and the hidden fees of purchasing a seat and your luggage are ludicrous. I will never fly with your airline again."
