Flight was delayed over 2 hours. They don't announce anything on the speaker to keep you informed so we almost missed the flight altogether
The vouchers they gave us for our wait weren't offered until just before boarding so we spent cash and never used the vouchers.
The seats are too too close together, we were so tight in the center 4 seats, both next to me & in front of me & especially when the person in front of me reclined their seat. It was a 8+ hour flight from hell.
The flight got off & landed unbelievably hard. Never again
The boarding area staff were extremely helpful and immediately got me on an SAS flight to Heathrow to connect to a United Airlines flight to SFO. They also rushed my suitcase directly through to United.
That I didn't get a chance to actually fly on AirBerlin!
I arrived at the airport and learned that my flight was canceled. After waiting in line for over an hour, the agent rebooked my flights, with a five hour delay (originally supposed to arrive at 4:55 pm, now arriving at 10:30 pm). I requested some sort of compensation, such as good vouchers, but was denied.
I received a conformation email from Kayak at 6:00 am the day before my June 27th flight. My friend informed me the route from Stockholm to Dusseldorf is no longer being used as of late. I checked online to see the flight status and the flight number was non existent. I called Kayak to confirm and was told to call Air Berlin. After a collective 2 hour wait I never received an answer from their customer service department. I called Arlanda Airport and they confirmed this route is no longer used, and I was being transferred to SAS Airlines for the same time and different itinerary. This flight ended up delayed 3 1/2 hours and I did not leave until 4pm. I have currently been traveling for over 20 hours and have still not reached my destination. 100 kr was not able to accommodate the three meals I needed. I have also yet to receive any word from Air Berlin whatsoever. This has been the worst traveling experience I have ever had.
Even though TXL is a small airport, it is complicated to maneuver. My connection was in the same teriminal and only two gates away, but I had to exit the gate, find a departure information board at the entrance to the airport (because there was none inside of security and had not recieved any information about a gate change via email or SMS) and then enter through security again. This was a much more complicated process than it should have been to move only two gates downward for my connection.
