Pros: "An elderly lady sitting next to me with a broken arm.....was approached by the flight attendant and the flight attendant was so considerate that she took the lady to the empty seat in first class!!! I noticed this kind gesture and noted it to the flight attendant. She told me sometimes folks get upset asking why they did not get the upgrade! It amazes me....I always think if that were my mother how would I want to be treated!!! CUDOS to this Flight attendant....Thank you AA for making this gesture and God Bless you all!"

It had to be cleaned and prepared for our flight, which then took off over 1 1/2 hours late. Many passengers missed their connecting flights and American Airlines was no help... they directed people to the Miami Airport Crew. American Airlines stated that the plane was late due to air traffic control issues, but in reality the plane hadn't even arrived yet. I felt like I was lied to! Shame on American Airlines! I will never fly with this company by choice!"

They said that seat or middle seat in row 29is only choice. I said we paid for upgrade. They said to ask for a refund at LAX when landing at midnight. Asked passenger in 4D when he got his seat assignment - SAME DAY as flight, paid nothing for upgrade. I signed up for frequent flier program two weeks ago. Will be cancelling when card is received."

Cons: "I missed my original connecting flight in EWR because there was no gate available when we landed. After waiting several minutes, we taxiied to a different gate. I called customer service to let them know we were on the ground waiting for a gate assignment. Despite this, the flight boarded and left with several people missing the connection even though that flight pushed back later than its original time and departed almost an hour late. The plane was sitting there with the door closed. After that, I was put on the next available flight which was already delayed more than 2 hours. That delay extended even longer and was eventually cancelled due to weather. United CS reps were not willing to address passenger concerns. They closed the CS area in some portions of the airport forcing everyone to a very limited number of reps. I ended up having to rent a car and spending the first 5 hours of my birthday driving home. I should have been able to make my connecting flight and would have avoided the entire mess. Instead, I am out of my ticket price plus the additional cost of renting a car since my changed flight was cancelled due to weather not the gate assignment changes that originally caused me to miss the connection. What should have been a brief 4-5 hour trip ended up being almost a 20 hour day....United absolutely SUCKS!"

On a side note many things could be improved by offering free checked baggage and charge for overhead bins.... so many delays, arguments and general aggravation caused by people struggling for overhead bin space... just have a guaranteed spot overhead for a fee.... no more aggravation period... when they started charging for checked bags but offered free carry on the problems got worse... flip it around and several problems go away... simple."

Before landing there was about 15 other planes waiting to reach their gates, but none were open because of lack of communication. We sat on the plane for an extra hour or so, with our seatbelts on, and moving no where. Just extra stress and frustration added to the flight."

Also, apparently we didn't read carefully, though no one was able to point me in the correct direction, there is a limit to the weight on the checked luggage of 42lbs and we each were at 45lbs.... I'm aware of the 50lbs limit not 42. We had to over stuff our carry-ons after paying over $400 to even have checked luggage in the first place!! Otherwise we would have had to pay anther $100 for an additional carry-on. The seats are padded shells and, for long flights, can be uncomfortable. We ended up being over an hour late, there was no communication until the landing announcement."

My transportation from the two airports was not compensated nor was the extra day of parking for my car, in Atlantic City, which I thankfully got a ride to from a friend, or that would have been another expense out of pocket."

And if you don't check your bag and it's determined to be "a carry on bag" they try to charge you $100 at the gate. Seats don't decline. No pockets in the seat back in front of you so you don't even have a place to store your magazine or book."

TOOK OFF AFTER PILOT ANNOUNCED THEY HAD FIXED "ALMOST EVERYTHING". NO APOLOGIES, AND NOT EVEN A FREE BOTTLE OF WATER. THAT'S THE FIRST AND LAST TIME I FLY SPIRIT. INSULT TO INJURY? $90 TO CARRY ON A BAG ROUND TRIP!"

Pros: "This flight was cancelled. There was no food or drink provided and no other spirit airlines flights offered for more than 24 hours. We were told we could be refunded and we then chose another airline that could actually accommodate us after waiting inside the airport for 8 hours. Still have not seen the refund come through."

Cons: "Flight was cancelled due to mechanical problems. Spirit would not put me on another flight / airline. The only option was to take flight out on Monday, 2 days later or a refund. I would expect since it was notna cancellation Sue to weather, the airline would get me on another airline regardless of cost."

Pros: "Buying my ticket didn't actually buy me a seat, at the counter I had to pay for a seat and the cheapest was $11. It then cost me $50 to check a bag, which was the cheapest option because it would have been $55 to carry-on.... Attendant at counter was rude as well. Awful experience, 0 stars, won't fly spirit again."

Cons: "It charges for carry on 55$ and for checked baggage 53$. These weren't posted anywhere. The flight back was delayed for 3 hours and it never updated on the flight tracker. I ended up wastin a beautiful Florida beach day in the airport! Ridiculous. I hope they lose all of their business."
