Cons: "Too cold on the plane, air is very dry, seats are very uncomfortable. The seats are hard. No cushion. No foot rest. Cup holders don’t work properly and my drinks tilt and spill. Bathrooms are dirty. Not baby friendly. Food is poor quality. I didn’t get a drink during my meal. I had to flag a flight attendant down to get juice."

Then they asked us to sit down but there was no seats. it was hot and no aircon. the security process was strict and prisonlike because it was a USA bound flight."

Cons: "Terminal 2 in Manila has very few options for dining and gifts. Plane was late in arriving to Terminal 2; apparently had to offload in Terminal 1, then taxi to Terminal 2, then had to be inspected extensively before we could board. Due to late boarding and ~25 wheelchairs, boarding was disorganized."

Cons: "We had to wait for additional passengers after boarding and then again after they came in to take off, so waited an additional 2 hours on the plane (it really adds up on 12+ hour flights). Communication about he delay was mediocre, and the website did not have updated flight info for pickup."

Cons: "About four hours before boarding, the gate assignment was changed from a comfortable gate with plenty of seats for passengers to another gate that was already occupied by another PAL flight that has not even boarded yet. So there were no place to sit down. Food can be so much better, especially the dessert. Crew didn't come across as happy with their job. When I asked for soda water, the serving stewardess didn't tell me that she'll give it later; she just proceeded to push the food cart, so I thought she didn't hear me since she didn't acknowledge my request. The bathroom was filthy!"

Cons: "Totally uncomfortable.... big guy had his legs almost on top of mine under the seat in front of me. He was so wide, his shoulders and arms were on top of my chest at some points of the journey. Bigger people should not be able to buy coach seats. They should have size and weight restrictions."

Cons: "Boarding process in Manila is confusing as once you go through security they run your bag through again AT THE GATE. I don't think I've experience this at any airport and I've been to many countries. Also, once "corralled" in your assigned gate, there is limited seating. Getting in and out to go to the bathroom or get something to eat is a hassle. PAL international has it's own terminal (2) but all the airport lounges are in 3 or 1, and you have no access to those terminal once your in 2. Finally, the food option at PAL terminal is awful. For a major Philippines airline, I wish they would upgrade their terminal and make it more appealing for international travelers. For these reasons, I would consider flying another airline from US to Manila, e.g. Cathay Pacific, United, etc."
Pros: "Business class from Bangkok to San Francisco was good overall, especially for $1400 one way. Food was not very good for business class, was more in line with JAL, EVA, Korean or ANA econo class but again, for the price, no complaints. Great friendly service, quick boarding. Priority Pass didn't have a lounge in Manila but thankfully, Philippines Air had their own lounge with great food and drinks for 1st Class and Business class ticket holders. Plane from Manila to SFO was older, screen way too far away, not even reachable without getting out of the seat. Business class seats don't quite lay flat but no complaints for the price. Would fly with them again!"
Pros: "First let me say I am a big fan of Philippine airlines. The customer service is outstanding, I am always made to feel very comfortable and the movie selection is great. I would give them a 10/10...if it weren’t for the surprisingly below-average special meal selection....read on..."
Cons: "I have been a gluten-sensitive foodie for 7 years. I am not vegetarian. I still eat sugar, salt, spices, dairy, and fat. I have order a GF special meal for the past 3 or 4 trips I’ve flown but I always end up asking for one of the regular meals instead because the GF meals are SO awful. They are completely devoid of all salt, sauces, spices or any flavor, and are so bland that it’s like eating astronaut cardboard food. For example...the last flight I took (Manila-San Francisco), the regular meal options were a chicken sausage dish with some mashed potatoes and veggies, a wonderful colorful julienne vegetable salad, a flan pudding (GF by nature) and some bread with butter. The other option was a delicious smelling pork belly over rice (seriously some of the best pork belly I’ve ever had) and some veggies with the same sides. Everything was gluten-free except for the bread roll and looked much more colorful and fresher overall. By contrast, the GF “special” meal that I received was a plain chicken breast with no salt, steamed veggies that were overcooked and mushy to the point of colorless baby food, with no spices or sauces, a watered-down fruit salad, a rice cake with no butter and a banana instead of dessert. I was amazed at how bland and flavorless it was. Gluten-free does not mean sugar-free, low-fat, or dairy free. It simply means the absence of wheat flour. I still like sauces and spices. And I still like butter. A non-fruit dessert would have been nice. And since when does gluten-free mean flavor-free? I would have MUCH rather preferred the regular meal option with just a gluten-free rice cake substitute. Thank god they had extra regular meals for me to eat instead. Point being…if you’re not extreme celiac and just gluten-sensitive, I recommend ordering off the regular menu and just omitting the bread roll. The flavorless meal isn’t worth it!"

After flying 5 business class flights in the last 2 weeks, this was by far the lowest level of entertainment available."

Pros: "the first time a strong turbulence happened, people were screaming and started praying. The pilot got on the speaker and assured the passengers that the plane is ok and able to handle any turbulence. He spoke in a very calm voice and I think it also calmed most of the passengers. I went back to sleep."

Cons: "The myPAL app again would not connect to the plane’s wifi although I was able to use the free 30-minute internet service. The seats are pretty hard and I used the pillow for more cushion."
Pros: "The shuttle from terminals 3 to 2 could have been more organized. The sign says they leave every half hour, but they were waiting for 2 more passengers to arrive which made the wait almost an hour. Our flight was scheduled to board at 9:15 and they weren’t going to depart the shuttle until 9. We we’re panicked because we still needed to go through customs. They ended up leaving earlier after we talked to the reps for a bit. We made our fight but wow that was stressful."

Then, after we boarded d at around 1AM, we were advised that the runways were due to close at 1:30 AM and negotiations were underway to extend runway operations so we could take off. We waited on the plane only to later learn that the flight was cancelled and we had to deplane! After more waiting at the gate in the terminal we were to hotels. We went to bed at around 4:45 AM, only to get a wake up call at 7 AM whilst we were not leaving the hotel until 11:00 AM for a 1:30 PM departure! Horrible! We ended up leaving even later, at around 2:30 PM. Throughout, communication from the company was abysmal. Never again Philippine Airlines for me !"

The app connected to the plane's Wifi but that when opened states it needs to connect to the plane's Wifi which it already is. This problem was also with my iPhone. Boarding was fine but could be more organized. People not in the current boarding group were allowed to board."
Pros: "When you check in your flight from San Francisco to Manila it is very hard to get the seat assignment ahead I'm not sure why people are always nice when checking-in"
Cons: "It's impossible to get ahold of a live person when traveling if you do not go to the airport to speak to somebody who can't seem to get anybody to pick up the phone I don't know why"
